Sienna Mach-North| D7 |17|Tags:Jay| loc:career camp outskirts

As Sienna eased down next to Jay she sighed softly hoping and praying Eden was going to follow through with bringing there supplies. She was starting to get anxious having nothing but her fists and legs to defend herself and the small child with. As she closed up the container she managed to stuff it into a pocket to consume space in case they had to run. Maybe they should start moving but what about mutts? Sienna’s fears were starting to bounce around her heart and mind as she immediately wished Garry could just come in the arena and give her the biggest treedad hug ever. She viewed her mentor as a second father and boy did she miss him but she remembered his intricate and loving words,“No matter what happens in the arena, you'll never be a failure. Especially not to your mentor.” Sienna softly took a breath before smiling for the first as she softly started wiping Jay’s tears hoping to get a move on in the freezing night.

That stupid Gloria girl hadn’t seen her gesture! What was she, blind??? Stupid Gloria! She was trying to have a good argument here, PAY ATTENTION!! It was so boring not having someone to argue with.

She looked up in disgust as the death recap played out. Why would she care about any of these people? They didn’t mean anything to her, especially that pathetic one that had died in their camp.

She perked up at the suggestion of attacking a tribute. Good, another rat they could get rid of! One less mutt for them to worry about.

She didn’t really like this fish dinner they were having, yet she wouldn’t complain. You couldn’t complain much about the food when you were in the arena, it was VERY different when it came to allies though! She still hates Gloria. Stupid Gloria.

That stupid Gloria girl had begun complaining about a stupid sponsor. Just take a hint! No one wants to sponsor you, YOU RAT! If only she could’ve said that verbally.

Jay Fernandez//District 11//Male//Tagged; Sienna

“Okay…” Jay simply replied. He wasn’t sure what to say anymore. He was just tired. He was exhausted. Tired from crying so much, from being so worried and angry at things that couldn’t be controlled.

Sienna was right, there hadn’t been any other way to save Moses. Now he just felt bad for feeling angry at her. She seemed so sad and Jay worried it was because of him. Did she know that he felt some sort of resentment towards her? He felt horrible. How could he have been so angry at her, after everything she’s done for him?

He refused to look up when he heard the Capitol Anthem. He didn’t want to see Reika and Moses’ faces appear in the night sky. He could feel Sienna move away from him, so he lifted his head a little in order to watch her. She had gotten a sponsor. Jay gave her a soft smile. She deserved that gift, especially after everything she’s been through. His smile dropped when she handed him some of the rolls she had gotten.

He didn’t feel worthy, she should’ve kept them to herself. It was her gift after all and even if she didn’t actually know how much hatred he felt towards her, he felt bad for it. He still accepted the rolls though. He, of course, didn’t want to make her worry. It wouldn’t help her if he refused to eat.

By the time she came back, he had quickly eaten his share of the food. As she wiped away his remaining tears he spoke up, a simple question that he had on his mind.

“What now?”

Sienna Mach-North| D7 |17|Tags:Jay| loc:career camp outskirts -> Rivers edge

“We start heading up the river and wait for Eden to bring our gear.” She said gently.“Or we walk a hour, we wash up and we take a small nap to conserve as much energy as possible.” Sienna said gently just happy her tiny ally finally ate something.“I heard that washing your face after crying is a great way to feel refreshed, and I think we both could use it.” She said softly while standing up and helping Jay to his feet before brushing crumbs off her self. Sienna smiled waiting patiently trying to stay strong as they started moving north as Eden suggested. He was quite a wise and helpful career and she deeply admired his friendship and his gentleness through the whole Moses situation. Sienna took a moment to get her bearings before walking along Jay in silence. Normally she could read situations like this better but for once she didn’t know whether to speak up or stay silent. She softly nudged Jay closer to her arms before hugging him like a protective older sister as they finally made it to the rivers edge. Now it was time for them to head up and get into a safe sheltered distance. As long as they were nowhere near the swamp she would be okay with whatever come their way. She slightly jumped at the sound of a hooting creature, boy did she wish she was armed. Maybe she could beat a animal senseless with the parachute canister? But she worried about her strength faltering. If it meant Jay living she would do anything...

Chaska was pleased to find that the others were as blown away by the gauntlets as he was. The only person to voice distaste was Gloria but he had kind of been expecting that kind of response from his district partner. It was why he was able to so easily brush it off and ignore her. Knowing it was going to happened helped him keep his temper in check. If he had been taken by surprise he would have responded in a more aggressive manner instead he picked one of the gauntlets up and held it out for Caspia and Killick to take a closer look. As Eden spoke he gave a decisive nod. "That's the plan" he replied with a hint of excitement in his voice. With that he put the gauntlets aside and stuck the two remaining fish on the swords and placed them over the fire. "When you take the supplies to Sienna and Jay we can give them these cooked fish" he said while he cooked the fish. While he was a man of few words he knew that at least Eden would catch onto his hidden message. 'It would probably help to have a full stomach before going to bed after a long hard day.'

[size=90]Caspia Searobin | District 4 | Location: East Camp | Tags: Eden, Chaska, Killick, Gloria, Madeline | These Are Not Peace Offerings, I Just Don't Want You to Starve and Start Complaining
Gloria reacted almost instantaneously to Chaska receiving the gift instead of her. She seemed in denial, insisting that it was simply a mistake that she didn't have one too. It seemed that her allies weren't the only ones not appreciating her behaviour, her rudeness clearly didn't sit well with the District 2 mentor either. No-one else commented on her whining, nothing they said seemed to make any difference, so Caspia too stayed silent though she truly didn't understand why Gloria had not got the message yet. Chaska and Eden had both finished cooking their fish so Caspia nabbed the two 'roasting spit' swords and speared fish on them. As little as she liked Gloria and Madeline, who had been suspiciously quiet these past few hours, she hardly expected them to know how to cook their own fish. Besides, Caspia wanted to prove them wrong about her district by providing with the best of District 4 career cuisine. "Eat these." She told them both bluntly, handing out the two fish. With the two girls dealt with she could worry about the people she actually cared about. She handed one of the swords with a new fish on it to Killick and the other one she kept for herself. While Chaska and Eden had each cooked a fish for the other, she and Killick had spent many an evening at Career Camp with all the other trainee careers side-by-side grilling their fish to perfection. Each individual had their preference, Kari had always made fun of her for liking her fish more on the blackened side, so it would feel comfortingly like home for them both to cook their own. Once her fish was just charred enough she began to eat, savouring the taste of home and at the same time properly admiring Chaska's gauntlets which he'd extended towards them. "I've never really seen anything like it." The armour they had back home to lessen their bruises when they were training was made of woven fibres rather than metal, and even in the small museum they had memorialising the Dark Days had no steel armour. She had no doubt that Chaska's arms were going to be safe.
When he suggested offering the remaining two fishes to Sienna and Jay, Caspia nodded. "That's a good idea. No point in trying to split up those fish, those two probably need them more than we do."

Felix Prestman | District 12 | Location: Western Valley | Tags: Penny | When Will The Valley End?
Penny suggested that Reika's killer was not a tribute but that reassured Felix little. If she’d been a killed by a mutt or a trap or any trick of the gamemakers, well.. that simply meant the Capitol had no qualms targeting the youngest of their child sacrifices. After he spoke of Reyna she seemed to have lost all words and simply pulled him into a hug. Nothing could bring comfort like a good hug and Felix returned it gladly. They stood like that for a while until Penny broke the silence, suggesting they start hunting for a place to rest. It was definitely a good idea. Felix's eyes and legs were beginning to feel heavy and he was beginning to feel hungry, it was a shame they had nothing but strawberries to feast on before sleeping. "You're right. There must be somewhere coming up where we can at least get out of the water. I'm sure tomorrow we'll find some way out of this ravine." They had been sloshing up the stream for long enough now that it was beginning to get wider and wider, which Felix could only assume meant that they were either nearing the arena's edge or the centre with it's lake.

Zoe Marius of District 11
Tags: Demitra
Location: Lake Around Cornucopia

Zoe shivered at the cold but kept swimming even when the ground disappeared under her feet. She hadn't really learned how to swim but her mother had taught her the vital motions and she paddled along, even though she jerked awkwardly and barely kept her head above water. She was about halfway across the lake when she felt a chill creeping down her spine. She kept swimming, although a bit faster when a shadow passed over her. She saw Demitra's eyes filling with horror as she shouted for her to get down, her knife already flashing out. She gulped in a breath and ducked, squinting her eyes closed and curling up. She'd only gotten a glimpse of sharp, gleaming teeth and a huge, dark, shape, but she knew that it was big... and dangerous. The death recap started to play, lighting up the sky, and Zoe wondered if this was how she would die... right under the other dead tributes, going to join them.

Gloria gagged when Caspia shoved a fish in her face. "What are you doing? You want me to eat that? I have quite a while before I starve to death so I will not be eating that ridiculous, smelly, utterly horrifying bundle of burning scales!" Gloria scoffed, glaring at the district four girl. Why did bad things always happen to GOOD PEOPLE? First, part of her ear was ripped off, then everyone got angry at her, then Chaska got a gift and she was ignored, and then Caspia dared to mock her like this. No one was showing her any respect! The idea of giving the leftovers to Sienna and... what was the other one's name... made Gloria even angrier. Why were the others so dedicated in... helping them? Not wanting to give her fish to the others, Gloria "accidentally" dropped her piece into the fire. "Oh oops. Silly me." Said the district two girl in a totally unconvincing way.

Penny nodded, they couldn't be far from something right? Sloshing through the ever growing stream, Penny eventually made out what looked like a small outcropping of rocks, just eating in at the bank enough to make a very shallow cave. In fact, it would be hard to even call it that, but it would work for just the two of them. "Felix! Look!" Penny exclaimed, instinctively grabbing his hand and pulling him towards the rock outcropping. "It's not the best... but it'll work... right?" Suddenly realizing that she was holding Fellix's hand, Penny dropped it with a blush. Climbing into the shallow cave, Penny dug around in her pocket until she found her fabric square, delicately wrapped around a handful of berries. It wasn't much, and it took quite a few berries to quiet her rumbling stomach. "Maybe tomorrow we could try someplace else..." Penny suggested, something about the valley and the scarcity of seemingly anything was really starting to freak her out. "It's really weird here. Plus I think the only thing to eat is berries."

Eden Beauregard of District One
Location: Careers' camp
Tagged: Careers
The faint excited tint of Chaska's voice rallied Eden's spirits too, encouraging him for the upcoming fight. His smile widened as he looked over all his allies. Sharnaz was a scheming snake, but no amount of evil wiles stood a chance against the Career Alliance, still six strong as the better half of the games approached. Any tribute would be hard-pressed to take on the likes of Chaska and his scythe, Caspia and her trident, Killick and his cutlass. Madeline and Gloria would give them trouble too, all the while spewing insults to frustrate them more. It would be healthy for those two to take their anger out on someone who wasn't an ally.
Chaska began to roast the two remaining fish for Sienna and Jay, a brilliant idea. Caspia agreed with this sentiment. Once he'd finished eating his fish filet, Eden set the bones down in the grass and smiled. "I agree with Caspia. I love that idea!"
"I'm sure they'll love it, too. Warm food always helps me feel better,"
Eden continued as he stood up. That last statement referred to the filet Chaska had graciously given him. Now that his belly was full with a meal cooked by a loved one, he felt much better and ready to take on the world. There was a skip in his step as he went around camp gathering Sienna and Jay's things. As for Moses's discarded jacket, he folded it up and placed it in a sheltered patch of grass. Sienna had wanted him to keep it safe.

"Do you want to come with me to deliver Sienna and Jay's stuff? And the fish," Eden asked, approaching the campfire. It was mostly directed towards Chaska, some fresh air would be good for them, but he left the question open-ended so no one would feel left out. He doubted certain allies would be interested though. "I'm ready to go when you are, but I might need some help carrying this tent."
He gestured to the roughly folded-up tent pack in his arms. It had a little damage on one side - someone had apparently knifed it before Sienna and her allies met up with the Careers - but seemed fine besides the minor hole. Maybe a District Eight tribute could patch it up. Sadly, Eden was just a humble Career from District One who worked at the local tea shop on weekends.
Eden noticed Gloria had no more fish in her hands. Maybe she was an especially fast eater? Oh well, he didn't worry too much about it. They could catch more fish for breakfast if she was still hungry.
"I can't wait to start the hunt once we come back. On our way north, maybe we should come up with a plan to take down Sharnaz," Eden mused. "She seems like the evil genius type. We're stronger than her, but I don't want a repeat of Gleam's games."

Demitra Sparks of District Three
Location: Cornucopia island
Tagged: Zoe, mutt
Demitra fought back panic as her ally misinterpreted her warning and ducked, sinking deeper into the dangerous waters where the mutt lurked. The shadow drew closer and closer until it surfaced with a tremendous splash, huge jaws snapping at thin air. Demitra threw a knife with all her might, but it glanced harmlessly off the abomination's thick hide. Its bite had narrowly missed Zoe. As it sank back under to prepare another attack, Demitra knew this time it wouldn't miss.
"You're almost there. Hurry!" She called out. What could she do, what could she do? Then it hit her. Demitra tore off her jacket, balled it up, and hurled it into the water. The mutt's next attack snapped the jacket up like a shark.
That would buy Zoe some time... but unfortunately Demitra was out of jackets.

    .
Chaska turned his attention to Caspia when she mentioned that she hadn't ever seen anything like the armor. To be honest while he had seen the steel armor before he hadn't actually held armor like this before. In training it had always been leather armor or armor made of similar material. "It isn't very common even in District Two, or at least I haven't seen it used often" he said. There was more he could add to that but he didn't think that Caspia would be interested in all the times he had seen steel armor used. Turning his attention back to Eden he was pleased to find that his friend had liked the fish he had cooked for them. At the question he gave a swift nod, he would like to go with Eden. Giving the fish one last spin he pulled them away from the fire and eyed the fish thoughtfully. He was trying to think of a good way to transport the food. While he mulled over that he moved towards Eden and grabbed the tent that his friend had indicated. As he hefted the tent under his arm he came up with solution for the fish. Gripping the swords with one hand he grasped the fish tails and pulled them off the swords. Dropping the tent he slipped the long sword in the sheath on his hip. Then he leaned down grabbed the tent and his scythe. Hopefully he wouldn't look to intimidating. His aim was to be armed in case they got attacked but he didn't want to scare Jay. He couldn't help but notice the way Jay had eyed Eden earlier. He could only imagine what Jay thought of him. With a tiny shake of his head he pushed those thoughts aside and fixed his gaze on Eden. "Running blindly after Sharnaz isn't a good idea, she is smart and injured. And as we know an injured tribute is more dangerous" he said thoughtfully.

Sienna Mach-North| D7 |17|Tags:Jay| loc:Rivers edge -> continuing upstream|

Sienna sighed softly hearing more cricks and creaks before pulling out the silver tin to beat the crap out of mutt or tribute. She sighed putting it back into her jackets pocket and seeing a decent part of the stream they could stop at to wash their faces.“Jay? Let’s stop here for a bit to wash our faces.” She suggested softly as she walked across the rough rocks and gravel before she made it to the river. Sienna tugged her hair out of the hairstyle it was before she dunked her full head under water. She soon lifted her head up and shook her hair out as her face was a bright pink from the frigid stream temps. Only at night, huh? Sienna soon scrubbed her hands before wiping her face off with her jacket only to start raking her hands through her to get the knots out. She flinched at how painful it was before she put it back up into a tight bun on the top of her head. It would dry a bit faster like that but it would be a curse running through tree branches if needed. Sienna took some water and scrubbed the grime off her jacket before watching over Jay gently to make sure if he needed to stay longer or if he just wanted to go as she wiped a few droplets from her chin and seeing her district Token on her fingers still.“Feels nice, huh?”She said softly as she yanked the ring off her swollen hands. Granted it was natural but at the same time she didn’t like it or the reminder of the wooden ring indented in her hands. But it did give her a idea of who to give the ring to. It would make a great thank you gift as she felt like she was in debt with the sweet careers.
