Garry Woods of District Seven
Maybe it was a controversial opinion, but Garry believed his tributes did the right thing. Sienna and Moses were loyal to each other after growing up together in District Seven. If they stayed in an alliance with Zoe, it would be unfair to the little girl - she would always feel like the third wheel friend. What if resentment started to form between the allies later on?
Sienna and Moses had now formed an alliance with two other tributes, Rieka and Jay. There would be no third wheel in this team. Rieka and Jay seemed to have a close bond with each other; it would make for a healthy alliance in Garry's opinion. He hoped for the best for all four of them. They'd received cupcakes as a sponsor gift, so the team was off to a good start it seemed.
As for Zoe, Garry was honestly worried about that girl even though she wasn't his own tribute. Would she stay solo from now on, or end up running into other tributes? Hopefully said "other tributes" wouldn't be Reyna, Sharnaz, Demitra or Darius...

Gloria was half tempted to just rip the bandage off of her ear right then and there, but she didn't want to get it infected. Somehow, the fact that Eden was so calm about her berating just made the district 2 girl even more upset. "No!" she shouted, "You're being so.... so nice! I'm sick of it!" Gloria ripped the bandage off of her ear and threw it into the river. Oh wow that hurt a lot more than she expected, but she was trying to prove a point! "You all are!!" Whatever point Gloria was trying to make she was utterly failing at conveying it.

Zoe Marius of District 11
Tagged: None
Location: South Quadrant

Zoe jerked awake, covered in warm mud. She looked disgusted and stood up. What had happened? Had she passed out? The first-aid kit was next to her, thankfully. She stood up and held out her arrow, her eyes flickering around for any other tributes. Once she was sure that no one was near, she slouched back against the tree. Her familiar anger at being abandoned rekindled in her. Suddenly, she spotted some snow-white berries close to where she'd set up her fire. At a slight breeze, they dipped into the mud and back out again. It clicked. Those must have been poisonous. The little bit that had gotten into her "water" had been enough to make her pass out. They must be really dangerous. She walked over and plucked one off the stem. An idea formed and she opened her first-aid kit, filling an empty slot with the poisonous berries. It shut with a satisfying click and she looked around for a camera. She smirked knowingly at it and started on her way.

Clearly, the water was not safe to drink here. The gravel quadrant would probably collect water if it had rained. Plus, she knew Sienna and Moses were there, and she hadn't heard their cannons yet, so it was probably mostly hospitable. After a while of walking, she realized that she was... bored. She wouldn't imagine ever being bored in the Hunger Games, but just walking, with no other signs of human life, was pretty unexciting. For her, and for sponsors, too. She'd have to do something exciting for the cameras if she wanted the attention of the audience.

Once she reached the gravel section, she found a groove in the gravel. She squatted, opening the first-aid kit, and placed a few berries in it. She pulled out a match and left it there, too. Maybe someone would stumble upon it and she'd have another opponent out of the way. Maybe it would even be one of her old "allies."

Eden Beauregard of District One
Location: Careers' Camp
Tagged: Careers
With a quiet sigh, Eden looked at the irate District Two girl with an expression of mixed disappointment and sympathy. At this point, he couldn't even be angry at Madeline and Gloria anymore. His heart felt heavy with the negative atmosphere that permeated camp. He mentally scolded himself for allowing things to get out of hand - now that he'd calmed down, hopefully he could bring it back to normal...
"Do you know why I'm doing this?" He asked Gloria, a rhetorical question. "Because as an ally and fellow Career, I don't want you to suffer. I don't want you to die from an infection that could be prevented. I..."
Eden looked into his ally's eyes, searching for any hint of warmth or camaderie within them. "I care."

Gloria didn't like the look on Eden's face. Was he judging her or something?!? Opening her mouth to slam the district one boy with another round of retorts, she was cut off by him. "You care?" Gloria had never cared for a single person in her life and she was doing just fine. Suddenly she scoffed. "I doubt that. If it came down to it you'd kill any of us to win." Deciding not to pursue it she stalked back over to the tent and picked up her bloody earring with a wince and a shiver. Listening to Madeline's temper tantrum brought her some joy though. She's so immature. Gloria thought with a huff. She should stop being such a baby and behave like an actual career. Gloria didn't realize how hypocritical that was.

Sharnaz was pleased to find that Reyna seemed to listen to her words and instead of taking off decided to roll over and stare at the clouds. For any other occasion she would be irritated but she didn't really care right now, between her and Darius there wouldn't be any way of them missing when the alliance split up. It had to happen eventually. Without tearing her gaze from the four tributes she whispered back to Reyna. "If everything goes according to our plan then we hunt down more tributes. Preferably the weak ones first. The less tributes there are the better chance of the careers splitting up to go tribute hunting." With that she took a deep breath and got comfortable, she assumed they would be there for awhile. At the sound of the chime she lifted her gaze to the sky and watched as a parachute fell down and landed near the tiny camp. For a moment irritation flickered across her face. "Of course they get a sponsor before us" she grumbled under her breath. It was out of character but it was probably due to the fact that was in fact very hungry.

Rieka tapped her chin thoughtfully at the question about the prey, to be honest she had no idea what kind of prey was around. "Whatever is easiest to catch! There was a river that we passed by earlier that might have fish in it. But I don't know if they would be hard to catch" she said thoughtfully. At the sound of the chime she looked up and spotted the parachute. With curious eyes she watched as it floated down and landed near their camp. Almost in a trace she bounced over to the silver silk parachute. Tiny fingers lifted the parachute to reveal a covered tray with a note attached. Almost instantly she recognized the handwriting and huge grin spread across her lips. Taking a moment she read the note a few times before carefully folding it and putting it her pocket. She wanted to keep the note for a long time to come. It would give her strength when she was doubting herself. Discreetly she rubbed her eyes, her eyes had watered up due to how happy she was to hear from her mentor and their girlfriend. Moving on she picked up the tray and brought it over to the group to share in the excitement of opening it. Without really thinking she lifted the cover and let out a squeak of excitement. In her rush of happiness she nearly hugged the cute cupcakes that were neatly placed on the tray. "Oop sorry cupcakes. Your cute but I have to eat you! Ah! Thank you Jillian and Himaya!" she chirped with child like excitement. She paused a moment and then glanced at the others. "You guys should have one too! I know it is dessert but it can help give us energy! We should eat them now cause otherwise they might not last." she said with gesturing at the treats. Then she reached forward and plucked the 'HUG' cupcake from the four and held it in her tiny hands. She was mostly waiting for the others to pick on before digging in.

Eden Beauregard of District One
Location: Careers' Camp
Tagged: Careers
For a moment, Eden dared to believe he'd gotten through to his ally - but his hopes were shattered by cold words that cut into his heart. He stared after Gloria with an expression of shock as her accusation echoed through his head. How could she say something like that? Tears pricked at his eyes, but he wiped them away with a sleeve as his expression turned cold.
"You're wrong," Eden mumbled with an edge of bitterness. "Winning was the last thing on my mind when I chose this path."
He knew he was being sensitive, but she'd struck a nerve with that comment. After all his efforts to help, she still turned around to utter the words that hurt him most. Turning to Caspia, he tried to meet her gaze but couldn't. His eyes still stung with unshed tears.
"I'm going to wash my hands before I start cooking," Eden said in a quiet, inoffensive tone. "Can you and the others get the fish, maybe start a fire? That would be really great. Ah... you don't have to if you don't want to, though."

Eden got up and moved to the riverbank, afraid he'd become more emotional if he kept talking. He'd always been such a crybaby. Maybe his coddling mother had something to do with it - she treated him like a baby well into his teenage years - but Eden would never blame his dear mother for his issues. He wished he was more like her, honestly. She never whined when someone said mean words.
The river waters had already carried the discarded bandage away, but Eden still made sure to wash his hands upstream of where she'd thrown it in. It would diminish the hygiene concerns a little. Of course, the arena was never a sterile environment, but he'd do his best to minimize contamination. Carefully, methodically, he scrubbed Gloria's blood from his hands.
One minute turned into two, then five. He couldn't stop washing even as his hands became raw and sore - Gloria's blood was gone, but he could still feel crimson stains seeping into his skin. Not her blood. Someone else's.
Oh dear. I can't get them out, Eden thought in desperation, blind to the truth that the bloodstains were long gone.

Reyna Byrne of District Twelve

Darius seemed pleased at the idea of hunting down weak tributes, which earned him a venomous glare from Reyna. Did this idiot seriously think he'd live that long? She wanted to savor the look on his face when they betrayed and framed him, when the Career wolfpack came howling for his blood. Everything about him just ticked her off. Of course, she couldn't kill him yet, so she just ignored the moron.
"Sounds good. That girl from District Eleven seems helpless," Reyna replied in a hushed tone, although she couldn't help smiling. "We can also take out my district partner and his pathetic little girlfriend."
The smile immediately fell when she saw the silver parachute. At that point, Reyna almost exploded in rage - it took everything in her to restrain her anger. How dare the Capitol sponsor that pathetic thirteen year old brat and not her? She'd speak to their manager!

Caspia Searobin | District 4 | Location: East Camp| Tags: Gloria, Eden, Killick, Chaska

Eden had done a fine job on Gloria’s ear and now asked Caspia about the fish she’d been asked to catch last night. She’d caught plenty enough for them all, having a wonderful time as she did so but before she could tell him this she was interrupted by Gloria’s noise of shock. The District 2 girl seemed to be upset over the appearance of her bandaged ear. Caspia’s eyebrows shot up. ”We’re not here to look nice. Eden’s done a pretty good job of stopping the bleeding, you should be happy about that.”
She couldn’t believe Gloria. Nobody looked incredible with bandages around their head, but they usually ended up a great deal less dead. Eden also seemed to be getting fed up, though his responding words were still soft. Gloria’s weren’t. Caspia was simply confused when she yelled in anger about them all being nice but when she ripped off the bandage, flinging it into the river, she gasped in irritation. Eden’s voice had softened even further as he told Gloria, “I care.” It was a useless sentiment, Gloria ripped into him with her response - essentially calling him a traitor.

She nodded when Eden asked her to collect the fish and start a fire, slightly distracted by the buzzing in her ears. When he’d gone to wash his hands though, Caspia made her way to Gloria and moved to grab her tightly by the arm, drawing her in so she could hear exactly what she had to say.
”Just because you‘re willing to betray your alliance doesn’t mean we all are.” Disgust was visible in her tone. Suggesting someone was a traitor was one of the worst insults to a Career and Caspia wasn’t quite sure herself whether she was merely showing her anger towards her ‘ally’ or if she actually believed Gloria had it in her to betray them all. She certainly seemed more capable of betrayal than Eden ever could. ”Traitors never win.” She remembered the plaque back in Four, commemorating the place where the returning victor Clark had been destroyed by his District. Not that Caspia would allow a traitor to go home at all, not if she could help it.

Caspia let go of Gloria’s arm and turned to go with a final, ”You better hope you don’t need those bandages.”
She left her no time to respond before heading towards her stash of fish, not without chasing after her at least. Caspia was not usually one to combat others with words, she would have rather just punched some sense into Gloria, but in the Games that would have meant betrayal and Caspia was no traitor. Collecting the fish from where she’d left them she moved over to where they’d started a fire the previous night. There she waved her arms to get Killick & Chaska’s attention, trying to let them know that the incident had been tended to and that they no longer needed to stand guard. Waiting for them to return, she began to furiously rub two sticks together in an attempt to make a spark.

Felix Prestman | District 12 | Location: West Shelter | Tags: Penny

As they began moving down the sides of the rocky valley, Felix watched how much lighter on her feet Penny had become compared to the previous evening. Meanwhile, with his arms full of their stuff he was a little less balanced, regularly stubbing his toe on rocks or stumbling on cracks.
Filling the silence, Penny expressed her hope that this quadrant was empty apart for them. Felix murmured in agreement before thinking a little harder about it. ”But if we get too boring the Gamemakers will probably send something worse our way, and there’s plenty of tributes I would rather stumble into than that.”
That was a real worry. The games were, after all, a form of entertainment. How interested would the Capitol be in them simply walking along? ”Perhaps we should sing them a song.” That was a joke, but there was a slight catch of fear in his voice. If they were lucky some of the other tributes had captured the cameras attention and they could be left alone but eventually a time would come where the watchers were clamouring for excitement and then...

“I think me and Moses can rig something up and if you need a little more food I have some trail mix.” She said and chuckled as Rieka hugged the cute little cupcakes with lovely frosting. They smelled absolutely amazing and she made sure Rieka got hers first. She sat down on a rock and took the cupcake with “Sweet Pea” on it.“Thank you Rieka this was sweet of you and thank you to your sponsors and your mentors.” Sienna said while taking a small bite out of the frosting. These were a rare back in seven and most of the elite bought them for there children’s birthdays or for reaping day but Sienna and her dad never got them as they both agreed something from the heart is better than something storebought. It wasn’t till reaping day her dad had bought a small cupcake with delicate frosted morning glories. She shook herself out of her zoning as she licked some frosting off her lips as she finished it. Her blood sugar was definitely much higher now that she had a significant source of food and she was definitely less snappier at Moses.“I think I heard that river you were talking about not that far from here. We shouldn’t be long.” She assured the little ones.

Moses Grandy| D7 |18|Tags:Sienna.Rieka,Jay| loc:East
Moses smiled and sat down on the grass as Rieka opened up the silver parachute and hugged the cupcake tray. He softly motioned for her to grab first and went after Sienna, he took the cupcake labeled “My Baby”. Moses had a feeling Jay needed that extra little Love You from the mentors. Moses unwrapped his wrapper and took soft slow bites of the delicious treat.“Thank you Rieka,Jill, and Himaya.” He said softly as he dug into the icing aspect before getting to the soft cake. Moses didn’t realize he had gotten frosting on his nose until he heard giggling. He smiled sheepishly and quickly wiped it off his nose. Moses couldn’t wait to go to the stream and scrub up but also he would be able to catch some better food that couldn’t scratch him.

Chaska who had originally been trying to stay out of the drama turned when things started to get heated between Eden and Gloria. He opened his mouth to say something but wasn't fast enough and was cut off by Gloria who stormed off in a huff. He was left with his lips still parted slightly and he snapped his jaw shut as he tried to figure out what to do next. Luckily he didn't have to wait long because Eden announced that he was going to start cooking and asked Caspia to start getting the fish ready. Instead of moving to help right away he kept his gaze fixed on the district one career instead. Something was off but he couldn't quite put his finger on it. He figured it out as he watched Eden wash their hands in the river, he was spending too much time. With long strides he made his way over to Eden and crouched down next to him. Reaching out with calloused hands he gently grabbed Eden's hands, forcing the younger career to stop washing their hands. "It's over, the blood is gone now" he murmured quietly. Even with his lack of social skills he realized there was a reason behind Eden not saying anything and so he didn't want to bring too much attention to them. While he was still holding onto Eden's hands he turned over the much more delicate looking hands, searching for any place that had been scrubbed too much.
