Caspia's supportive words brought a smile to Eden's face, and he backed her up with conviction. "Caspia's right!"
"Thank you," He murmured with a grateful dip of his head, taking the now-saturated gauze pad back from his ally. Now Eden didn't waste any time in cleaning the wound. Best to get it over with as quick as possible - that would be ideal for everyone involved.
He exhaled a sigh of relief as he finished the hard part. After tucking the used gauze away in its wrapper, he reached for the supplies he'd need to dress the wound. More gauze, medical tape, those white bandages... That's all I can find...
He unwrapped a fresh piece of gauze and pressed it against the wound, making sure not to touch any surfaces that would come into contact with Gloria's skin. Then he tore off a sizable strip of medical tape to keep it in place. After taping it all up, he wrapped the bandages around the area, securing her wounded ear flat against the side of her head. This would keep it steady while it healed.
"All done. You're good to go," Eden explained, patting her on the back. He was beginning to sound like his mother. "Is there anything else wrong? Let me know if you start feeling lightheaded or nauseous. Sorry... I'm a bit of a worrywart, aren't I?"
He then turned to Caspia. "Oh, I forgot to ask! Did you and Chaska catch any fish after I went to bed? Maybe I could cook breakfast, it'd help all of us feel better."
➵ Reyna Byrne of District Twelve

Reyna pouted like an entitled kid who'd just been told "no". She couldn't sulk for long, though. Sharnaz was just looking out for her partner in crime. The smile soon returned to Reyna's face - who cares if the tent was off limits? She had something even better, a best friend to commit horrific atrocities with. Together they would be unstoppable. They didn't need some stupid, shabby tent.
For a moment, Reyna looked disappointed as Sharnaz explained those weren't the Careers. But then a mischievious gleam reappeared in her hazel eyes. It was those pesky kids - even better! "Wow, that was easy. Let's-"
Before she could run off like a barbarian, Sharnaz chimed in with more wise advice. Reyna cursed under her breath and rolled over onto her back. She'd just have to watch the clouds go by until those tributes split up. Even the clouds were boring, though, all shaped like mundane bunnies or brooms. Ugh. Reyna turned to Sharnaz and, in a whisper, asked: "So what are our plans after this?"

A soft chime sounded in the eastern quadrant, followed by the appearance of a silver silk parachute. It descended from the still skies and came to a rest near Rieka's camp. Lifting up the cover from the attached tray would reveal four pink velvet cupcakes, each of them covered with a delicate white swirl. Tiny candy hearts decorated the icing with a larger heart at each tip. Each of the big candy hearts had a message written on it: "Love you", "My baby", "Sweet pea", and one that just said "HUG" in all caps.
Attached was a note from Jillian... I convinced Himaya to help me bake these! You can share them with your friends. We love you!
