Eden Beauregard of District One
Location: Careers' Camp
Tagged: Careers
Oh dear. Eden knelt beside his wounded ally with concerned eyes, although he forced himself not to cry this time. Using his sword, he tore a small strip of fabric from the bottom of his shirt. "I'm going to put pressure on your ear to slow the bleeding, okay? Sorry if this hurts a little," Eden warned, then used the cloth to apply gentle pressure to the wound. He could barely look.
Chaska appeared to be standing guard now, and Eden sent him a grateful smile. Hopefully his ally would sleep well tonight. He worked his butt off for the alliance - two consecutive watches without break sounded downright horrific.
Eden's expression shifted to confusion as laughter sounded behind him. He whipped around, eyes wide, only to witness his own district partner cracking up over Gloria's plight. Shock turned to anger - and Eden knew he couldn't rein in his temper this time.
"That's enough!" The words came out harsher than he thought himself capable of. "If you're just going to add insult to injury, then make yourself helpful somewhere else. Guard the camp perimeter or something. I don't have the energy for this right now!"

Reyna Byrne of District Twelve
Location: North
Tagged: Sharnaz, Darius
Clever Sharnaz, always a step ahead of the competition. A smile returned to Reyna's face as her ally recapped the plan. With her new best friend by her side, Reyna no longer needed to think for herself. She was just the muscle.
It turned out Sharnaz had more to say. Reyna's smile widened as she heard the true plan, the idea to frame Darius for their collective crimes. Judging by the way the pathetic boy cowered and flinched from Sharnaz's threats, he wouldn't stand a chance against angry Career Tributes. "Got it. I can't wait for this to play out," Reyna whispered back with a slight giggle.
Looking out over the plains again, Reyna's face fell into a frown. "It's bigger than I thought. How will we find those kids? I'm sure you have a plan already, but heck..." Her stomach rumbled - she hadn't eaten since entering the arena. Whatever. They'd probably plunder some food from Rieka and Jay, and Reyna would eat it all without sharing. The thought spurred her to walk even faster.

Jillian Tybalt of District Ten
What the... Jill had half a mind to kill the idiot shaking her awake. When she opened her eyes, she calmed down at once - it was only Himaya. Her fellow mentor and beloved girlfriend chuckled at her. "You told me to wake you up."
"Rieka's up?" Jill shot out of bed, still in her pajamas, and turned on the television at once. Her groggy grumpiness faded away when she saw the tiniest tribute's sweet face. "Awww, she's giving her friend a hug!"
It was hard not to tear up again as Rieka smiled and waved to the cameras. All Jill wanted to do was reach through the screen and squeeze the baby, but she couldn't. So instead she shouted, "Good morning Rieka!" even though her tribute couldn't hear her. "We love you!"
Himaya tapped her on the shoulder. Jill whipped around, about to gush about the tiny baby - then saw the delicious breakfast laid out on a tray. "Wow, are you and Rieka conspiring or something? She just told me to eat the breakfast you made me!" Jill laughed.

Caspia Searobin | District 4 | Location: East Camp | Tags: Gloria, Madeline, Killick
Morning came and Caspia awoke to her allies stirring next to her. First Eden crawled out of the tent and she heard the distant murmur of words as he went to speak to Chaska, who was still on watch. A short while later, Gloria also left the tent but the moment she had stepped outside Caspia heard a dreadful wail. Bursting from the tent she snatched up her trident, which she had left by the door to prevent any accidental impalements during the night. The day was pleasant and there wasn’t a mutt or non-Career in sight for her to brandish her weapon at.
“Mother of Krakens.” She cursed, realising the cause of the scream. Gloria stood, her ear bloodied and her earring still stuck to the tent zipper. As a Career she was not afraid of blood but the idea that something so simple could cause damage like that did make her a little queasy. Eden seemed to be swallowing his own horror to be helpful and Caspia did the same.
“We - we had classes but I was never any good in them.” She responded to Eden’s question about first aid as she went to fetch the kit anyway. “Pressure? Cauterisation?” She hazarded a few words in Eden’s direction, pulling the First Aid kit out of the red backpack. As she quickly made her way back she passed Madeline who had just laughed at Gloria’s plight. Eden had snapped at her, and Caspia was just as horrified. Sometimes she’d chuckle if a friend had face-planted into the sand, but only after knowing they were unharmed! Only a sadist would laugh at this.
“You are awful.” Her words were loaded with disgust.

Now back beside the tent she handed Eden the first aid kit.
“Um.. I’m sure we’ll figure something out.” Caspia wasn’t the gentlest of people and that was her best attempt at reassurance. Secretly she was hoping that Killick would perhaps be a better First Aider than they were.

Felix Prestman | District 12 | Location: West Shelter | Tags: Penny
Penny had been the first to fall asleep, her head against Felix’s shoulder. He had remained awake for a while longer, attempting to keep watch, kept warm by the quilt and by her words but eventually he too had fallen to his dreams, head resting on top of hers.
When he awoke to sunlight and found the quilt wrapped around him alone bleariness quickly turned to panic. ”Penny!” He whispered her name, as loudly as he dared, and grabbed his cooking knife instinctively. Stepping out from their hiding place he immediately relaxed, seeing her there. A little embarrassed, and ashamed for immediately grabbing a weapon, he loosened his grip on the knife. “Woah Penny, you scared me. Just being stupid I guess, I don’t know what I thought had happened,” It wasn’t like a tribute would have just kidnapped her and left him alone.
“I’m probably not quite awake yet.”
As his heart rate slowed he realised how still she’d been standing. “You okay?”

Gloria flinched as Eden addressed the wound. And the space got even more crowded as Caspia came over to help as well. Why are you helping me?! She wanted to shout, but didn't get the words out before Eden began to yell at Madeline for laughing at her. Wow, she had never seen the little puppy dog show his mean side before. It got even better, when Caspia remarked: "you're awful" at the district one girl. Oh how she truly was. Even though her injury still hurt a lot and made her stomach queasy, Gloria couldn't help but smile a bit. She was finally getting all the attention from the other careers, not Madeline. In fact, she was probably getting attention from all over Panem right now! How wonderful!

The sound of Felix's voice pulled Penny out of her trance, she turned to him and moved back over to him, and fast as she could without tripping on any rocks. "Oh yes I'm alright, just... nervous." Giving him a small giggle she realized that he probably thought that she had left him or something. "Oh sorry! I just didn't want you to lose any sleep." Penny said with a shy smile. "So uh.. what's the plan for today?"

Sienna Mach-North| D7 |17|Tags:Moses->Rieka,Jay| loc: North->East
As Sienna watched Moses roll around in the snow like a small child mixed with a puppy she decided to give him a few more minutes of just having some more child like fun. Sienna didn’t need the compass really it was more of a toy from the capital in her eyes. She was great with her geographical skills and well she decided she was going to give it to Rieka and Jay as a fun little present to keep them preoccupied from this rather dismal place.“Hey Moses! You ready to go find the kiddos. I worry about them and they don’t seem to be in this quadrant or the other two we were in.” Sienna got up with his assistance and mumbled her sentiments in the bitter cold. As they walked she soon heard Moses mention Zoe and sighed,“Moses let’s walk and have this conversation.” She said with a slight bite as she started moving on.

“Moses, she didn’t really help us. She had matches and didn’t light a fire. Colby did. Who hunted? Huh, you did. Who made snares to protect us and stayed awake for the first watch while finding water, I did. She wasn’t going to give up those bandages that easily either.” She stated.“No,Moses she is not a child. She is 14,she is a teenager. Rieka and Jay are the children. You know Moses when I was fourteen I was fending for myself while my dad was riddled with grief over the murder of my mother all right. Yeah we were close but I was doing all the work. And Colby didn’t deserve to die like that.” She said as they continued fighting right into Rieka and Jay’s small camp. Sienna shut up and gave a small sheepish smile.“Sorry I hope our quarreling didn’t scare you.It was out of line of us.Your Rieka and Jay,right?” The brunette said looking at the two little ones.

Moses Grandy| D7 |18|Tags:Sienna->Rieka,Jay| loc:North->East
As Moses finished his child like rolling he shook his head with a grin. He noticed Sienna thumbing the compass like she was mulling something over before she had crammed it into her pockets.“Yes! Same as I did promise little Rieka. Gosh she is so precious and doesn’t deserve to be here and neither does her ally.” He said hopping up and stomping over to Sienna in the snow. Moses was much happier now as he helped Sienna up.“East is our last chance, I suppose and then we might have to turn back and look around the other quadrants harder.” He said as they walked onwards before he stopped.“Sienna I feel bad for ditching Zoe like that.” Moses said as Sienna stopped in her tracks and whipped around for a minute. He sighed and started following her again waiting for her reply.“But Sienna she was a child and us abandoning her like that made Colby’s sacrifice for nothing then.” Moses said not looking at her.“Sienna come on... I’m sorry.”He said as the terrain changed and the warmth came back as they managed to make it to a small camp. So they really were fighting for hours. Moses gave a sheepish smile of embarrassment looking at Rieka and Jay.“Sorry about that... I hope you remembered my promise Rieka... we’ve come to be your allies.” He said his voice softening away from the previous harshness it was.

Sharnaz allowed a smirk to grace her lips when Reyna whispered back that they were looking forward to things playing out. She too was looking forward to hearing the canon that would signify Darius' death. It didn't even cross her mind that the plan could go wrong, a miss-step to not plan for that. Instead she focused on the plan and the scenery around them. The plains were bigger than she had initially thought but that didn't dissuade her too much. The kids had a tent, she had seen Jay grab one and knew even though the plains were big there weren't a huge amount of perfect spots to set up camp. "They have a tent, a small two person if I remember correctly. I saw Jay grab it so they have to have found a spot for it. Even with the vastness of the plains I am sure that we will be able to a spot a ten in the distance. We just have to be careful about approaching, never know if it is the careers" she said thoughtfully as they walked. It shouldn't be too hard to find the kids, they just had to be very careful about it

The distant sound of voice had Rieka lurching to her feet and darting out of the tent. She had found a small walking stick by the river they had passed by. Now she was reaching for it and spinning around to brandish at the enemies that were approaching. It wouldn't do much but she was prepared to fight until the very end. However she didn't have to because the figures the stepped forward and kept bickering were Moses and Sienna. Slowly her arms fell to her side as her eyes went wide with surprise. As they turned to face her and started to apologizing she seemed to come to her senses. The stick fell from her hand as she lunged forward. Sprinting forward she practically flung herself at Moses. Obviously she didn't actually fling herself into Moses, no she slowed down just enough to keep herself from bowling over the taller man. Then she flung her arms around Moses and pulled the older tribute into a tight hug. She couldn't help the excitement, after all Moses had been very kind to her before. "Of course I remember! You were so kind to me" she chirped. It took her a moment to let go but she finally did. However she spun on the spot and flung her arms around Sienna, she didn't know them but she appreciated them being there. It was then it clicked in her mind and she jerked away from Sienna to stare at Moses. Her gaze locked on the wounds on his face. Hurrying away she grabbed the canteen and then made her way back while unzipping her jacket. With nimble fingers she ripped the bottom part of her shirt off and then used the cold water to make the fabric cold. Once that was done she reached up to place the cloth on Moses' cheek. "Are you okay?" she asked. "And uh I didn't realize you were quarreling. I am Rieka and this is Jay."

Killick had been so tired that he was convinced he fell asleep before his head even hit the pillow. Rubbing his eyes, he turned over onto his stomach and tried to convince himself to fully wake up. He'd slept a lot better than he'd expected.
Suddenly, a scream pierced the air and Killick was up and reaching for his weapon. Heart racing, he got to his feet and tried to approach Gloria, but his allies were already on it. Eden gave her a place to sit and tried to calm her down, while Caspia told Madeline off for laughing at the District Two girl's misfortune. Also irritated at his ally's inconsiderate behavior, Killick shot Madeline an icy glare; raising his own voice wouldn't make a difference, as Eden and Caspia had said exactly what he was thinking.
He then noticed that Chaska was the only one standing guard -- and that he looked pretty tired. Killick decided to join him, cutlass poised at his side just in case any attackers burst into their camp. He wouldn't be surprised if the Gamemakers were setting up some sort of natural disaster or mutt attack to push someone dangerous in their direction.

Zoe Marius of District 11
Tagged: None
Location: Marshes

Zoe's tongue was dry and stuck to the roof of her mouth. She needed water soon. It didn't look like anyone was around her, so she hopped down from the tree. She frowned as she realized that without a backpack, carrying around her things was going to be difficult. She slopped some mud over the first-aid kit to camouflage it and tucked the matches into her pocket. Hopefully, she could find her way back. Clutching her arrow, she ventured out into the mud, determined. Angry, even. They abandoned her! Well, she would prove to them that she could take care of herself.

Her search for water proved fruitless, although she managed to scour some sap from a tree. Maybe she could somehow boil the mud for some water? She gathered some dryer sticks and dead leaves from the tops of trees and managed to start a small fire, and took a large, waxy leaf to scoop up some wet mud. It took a while to boil, but eventually, she was left with some brownish water. She shuddered as she swallowed it. Disgusting, but necessary. She did that a couple of times until her mouth didn't feel stuffed with cotton. She headed back to the tree and felt nauseous. Hopefully, that water was safe to drink.

Eden Beauregard of District One
Location: Careers' Camp
Tagged: Careers
Eden turned his back on Madeline to demonstrate how little he cared for this nonsense. With her cruel bout of laughter, he saw for himself just how heartless his "childhood friend" was. The sheer disappointment was enough to break his heart. Until Madeline was ready to apologize - and Eden doubted she ever would be - he had no interest in speaking to her except on business terms.
Both District Four tributes also seemed irritated. Killick approached Chaska to stand guard in silence, while Caspia expressed her frustrations vocally as she returned with the first aid kit. Eden smiled at her in gratitude. The District Four girl was doing her best.
"Thank you, Caspia. Um..." Still applying pressure to the wound, Eden opened the little box with his free hand. An overwhelming variety of little items was crammed inside. He told himself to stay calm, think clearly, and... there! Eden found the packets of gauze pads and ripped one open. All the pads and wipes in the kit were dry, though. Turning to Caspia, he asked, "Did you use the water purifier last night? I need to clean the wound before I dress it up, and fresh water is the best option right now."
Despite his calm voice, Eden's heart was pounding. At least Gloria looked a little better off judging from that smile.

Reyna Byrne of District Twelve
Location: North
Tagged: Sharnaz, Darius
"A tent! We should take it." Reyna couldn't help but smile. Not only would it make those pesky kids easier to spot, it'd also serve them well as a shelter afterwards. They'd never need the dreaded waterfall cave again. Of course, Reyna was too stupid to realize the huge flaw in her idea. Once the Careers found the plundered tent, they'd realize Reyna and Sharnaz were behind those children's deaths.
Sharnaz's warning about being careful flew right over her head. Reyna didn't care about that stuff, her small brain had limited vacancy. Only room for one thing: violence and destruction. (That's two things, but Reyna is also bad at math.)

Despite her stupidity, Reyna stopped when she heard voices in the distance. Arguing. With an excited look at Sharnaz, Reyna crouched low in the grass and watched the action unfold. Those District Seven tributes were alone now, and it seemed they were approaching a small camp. Reyna had to bite back a giggle as a white-haired tribute - Eden? - charged towards the dude in an 'attack'.
"Looks like Sienna and her friend decided to fight the Careers," Reyna whispered, getting it all wrong. She pointed to the tribute she thought was Eden. "A shame. I wanted to be the one to kill that crybaby, but looks like District Seven beat me to it."

Himaya Hannock of District Eleven
As Himaya ate breakfast with her girlfriend, she looked over at the television. The Capitol announcer was recapping the early morning's events. Turns out Zoe's alliance had dispersed, which Himaya took as a good sign. Sienna and Moses were district partners, and it seemed they'd known each other before the Hunger Games. Now they were gone, leaving the District Eleven girl with a few parting gifts. Maybe it was for the best. Himaya honestly felt Zoe was safer this way - remaining in that alliance could have dangerous consequences later on.
As for Rieka, she was in luck. Jillian had scrounged up some sponsorship money for the kid. The contents of the present were apparently "a surprise", though - she wouldn't even tell her girlfriend!

Caspia Searobin | District 4 | Location: East Camp
| Tags: Gloria, Eden

Killick had made his way to stand guard with Chaska, following a particularly icy glare in Madeline’s direction. That was probably a good idea, it just meant that Caspia would have to do her best to assist Eden. At least Gloria seemed to be smiling now, though hopefully that wasn’t just an indication that she was going into shock. Eden asked her about the water purifier and she nodded, hurrying to grab the jug of water from the curious little contraption.
”I was fiddling about with it, and I’m pretty sure I made it work.”
She shook the small amount of water in the bottom, ready to pour it onto one of the pads Eden was using.

Felix Prestman | District 12 | Location: West Shelter | Tags: Penny
Felix nodded earnestly as Penny explained she’d been nervous. Considering where they were that was reasonable, he was just glad that she hadn’t heard rustling or anything that might indicate another tribute, or mutt, nearby.
He looked touched that Penny had been worried about waking him. ”Well, thank you for thinking about me. I’m surprised I slept as well as I did.”
He tried not to look too stressed as Penny looked to him for the plan. ”Uh... maybe we should look for some water? Keep an eye out for food as we go?”

Gloria soaked up her newfound attention, and locked eyes with Madeline, glaring daggers at her. Suddenly, the pain flared back up again causing her to wince. "Just make sure it doesn't get infected." She said to Eden and Caspia. "That wouldn't be fair if that's what took me down."

Penny smiled, then nodded. "I got a canteen from the Cornucopia, but we probably should still look for water because the canteen won't last us forever." Penny was relieved that the scrape from falling on the rocks hadn't become infected, but it would still be a good idea to wash it, and she didn't want to use their drinking water. "I don't think I'd be very good at determining poisonous berries from yummy ones though." Although what she was talking about wasn't exactly light, Penny managed to have a smile on her face.
