Chaska peered at Gloria when she spoke about their food, it wasn't very informative but it was better than anything he could have offered. For once he was grateful to have his district partner, he wouldn't have had much to say otherwise. Before he could dwell on it much longer the tribute from district twelve decided to hurl insults at his ally. Without thinking his expression twisted into one of fury and a snarl leapt from his curled lips. Before he could hurl his own insults back at her though Gloria spoke up and Eden seemed to gloss over it. Though in his gut he felt like it affected Eden more than the career let on. Not that he could be positive of it. Shaking his head he forced himself to relax and his expression returned to normal. "Agreed, if I don't get to punch that smug smirk off her face first than it would be statisfying to watch you whip it of. She wouldn't see it coming" he added while peering at Caspia out of the corner of his eye. The career from district four was strong there was no doubt about that. His attention was dragged away when Eden posed a question for him. "I like most weapons but I guess aside from the scythe I like swords and spears the most. That being said I like all weapons" he replied thoughtfully. Almost as soon as he answered the question Caspia posed her own. "Fighting!" he replied almost instantly but quickly realized that her question was actually harder than he had originally thought. "By fighting I mean duels and fights that I pick, I wasn't allowed much free time outside of training so any fight I could pick myself was fun" he said slowly. He hoped it would be a satisfactory response. "If you want you can ask another since it might have been a bit of a lame response."

Sharnaz opened her mouth to stop her ally but then shut her jaw with an audible click. There was no point in trying to restrain her ally, after all if Reyna really wanted to do something she doubted she could stop them. With that she kept walking with out pausing and waiting for Reyna to catch up. That didn't stop her from over hearing what Reyna said, she couldn't really tell if Eden was affected by the words but it seemed to cause the district two career to snap back. Not a big insult but she hoped it wouldn't be enough to provoke her more temperamental ally. Luckily it seemed that Reyna was smart enough to keep walking and quickly joined her at the table. Taking the first bite of the food on her tray Sharnaz was shocked. The food in her district was pretty good but she hadn't expected the capitals foods to be so much better. "Basically I told that girl that I was going to kill her ally in front of her and then her. But if she went to anyone for help that I would make their deaths worse" she murmured to Reyna as soon as her ally was settled. She made sure her voice was low enough that only her ally would hear it.

Rieka's expression brightened more when the tribute from district eight introduced herself as Penny, a cute name in her opinion. The tribute from district twelve followed suit introducing themselves as Felix. One of her favorite Australian shepherds back home was named Felix and just hearing his name warmed her heart, though she didn't dare say anything. Her attention was pulled away from Felix when one of the other boys came over with a plate of food. Appreciation washed over her as she reached out and took the tray. The food looked delicious, it was mostly filled with things she had picked but there were a few dishes she wouldn't have thought to grab. All the dishes chosen looked yummy and she was excited to taste them all. "Thank you! This looks so yummy!" she chirped. Her attention was then pulled away again to another tribute, this one she knew was named Moses. His offer made her heart still and for a moment she looked conflicted. It lasted only a moment before she reached out and grabbed the sleeve of the taller tribute. "I am not worried about me but if... If I die will you protect Jay for as long as you can? I don't want him to get hurt" she asked, her expression both hopeful and determined. Not long after Moses walked away Jay approached and she spun to face him with a bright grin on her face. Internally she couldn't help the guilt that was eating away at her. At the offer her lips spread into a huge grin and she flung her arms around Jay. "I love hugs! They make me so happy! Also I am okay, I don't need any bandaid's, I just tripped a little" she chirped happily whilst hugging her friend. It took her a moment before she could bear to let go of her friend. The hug was nice and warm. "Hi, my name is Rieka! Whats your name?"

The corners of Reyna's mouth flicked upwards in a grin. Finally, some opponents with spirit. She'd been growing tired of snivelling, useless weaklings like Eden. Gloria's attitude and Chaska's feral snarl both added fuel to Reyna's blazing hunger for battle.
"I like you, blondie! Say that to my face in the arena - and bring your attack-mutt district partner!" She shouted at Gloria. What happened next was a little surprising. Eden turned and fixed her with a murderous stare. Oooh, someone's finally mad.
Table manners were for the weak, so Reyna kicked up her feet on an empty chair as she munched away. She shoved District Eleven's bread roll in her mouth next. It tasted tart and sweet from all the dried fruits stuffed inside, but the filling was a little too sticky for her liking. Reyna licked fruit jam off her fingers as Sharnaz told her what she'd said back there.
"Heehee, that's perfect," She snickered. "Some good ol' blackmail. I'd love to try it too - any ideas?" A pathetic crybaby like Eden would be easy to threaten, but Reyna wanted to scare more respectable targets. Caspia looked like she'd be fun.

Eden felt a warmth in his chest as his allies defended him. While Gloria shot a parting insult, Caspia and Chaska mentioned fighting her in the arena. "Thank you for having my back. At this point, I don't think Reyna will survive the bloodbath," He chuckled.
As if on cue, the ridiculous District Twelve tribute made more rude comments, this time directed at Gloria and Chaska. Excuse me? Eden shook his head, then turned around to fix Reyna with a deadly cold look. No kindness or emotion warmed his features as he stared her down. It was a warning, a threat of what he and his alliance were capable of when pushed too far.
He wouldn't even waste a single word on her. Chaska was answering questions now, which was much more interesting. Eden listened intently as his tough ally spoke of weapons and duels. Sounded like Chaska grew up with a rigorous training regime in District Two.
"That's not lame - duels are so much fun," He smiled in reassurance. "But I have another question if that's okay. Do you have any favorite quotes or mottos that motivate you? Like Ms. Licaria's sign in our Career Academy - 'Live, Laugh, Love to fight'."

"Oh just you wait! I won't have time to say it to your face- I'll be too busy washing your blood out of my clothes!"She called after Reyna, not sure why she continued entertaining her, but there was no way she would let her have the last words. Gloria scoffed. "I wouldn't be surprised if she died of natural causes before we even got a chance to get to her!" She exclaimed with a laugh. She turned back to her district partner as he finished talking. Looking Chaska in the eyes she raised an eyebrow. "Okay I've got a question." Gloria said, pausing to fix her elaborately braided hair. "If you win the games, what would you do?"

Colby felt his hart warm when Reika graciously took the food. He smiled at her, before following Moses. "Moses that seems like a lot work!"He added playfully. "Plus, they'd still be distracted with us around, am I right?" Colby said with a laugh, joking around.

Penny smiled, glad that Reika seemed alright, although now there seemed to be quite a few tributes gathered around them at this point. It made her sick as she realized that all of these kids making sure that one was okay were most likely going to die. Startled by the thought Penny felt a shooting headache rush through her head, and she accidentally backed into Felix because of it. "Oh! ah, sorry!"

Sienna rolled her eyes at Moses and the conversation that she had started,“What If he doesn’t want to tell you Moses! You ever think of that. Or how about you Moses any girls?” She said with a bit of a playful bite at her doofy district partner. Sienna took a sip of her tea and smiled as Colby spoke up before rolling her eyes more at Moses. She was definitely confused about her feelings but she knew what she wanted in the long run was to protect the itty bitty’s in the games and go back to her family while avenging her allies.

Moses chuckled and laughed softly while nodding,“Your right! Maybe it’s best to save it for the games. We’d just give the capital more of a show.” He teased as he took a bite of his cooking food. It wasn’t the best cold but at the same time it tasted better then chewing on bark in district seven.“How about you Colby? Any special ladies here or back in your district?” Moses asked with a cheeky grin before sipping his tea. He playfully waggled his brows.

Chaska seemed to share Caspia’s opinion of Reyna, “I guess if I don’t get the chance to do it myself I wouldn’t mind watching you take her down a notch either.” She responded to his comment that he wouldn’t mind seeing her wipe the smirk off of Reyna’s face.
The sentiment was shared, she definitely wanted to see her strong-looking ally fight, and hopefully eventually get to spar with him herself.
Eden seemed grateful for their words and Caspia grinned at him.
“A jab against one of us is a jab against us all.”
The grin was short-lived as Reyna made more stupid remarks, this time aimed at the District Two tributes. She let out an angry breath and ran a hand through her hair in frustration. Obviously violence was not permitted but perhaps it would be acceptable to just pick the girl up and dump her on the other side of the room, as far away as possible.
“Hopefully not. I want to see if she has any actual skill behind her words.” She responded to Gloria’s suggestion that the girl would be wiped out by natural causes.
For now though, she would just have to placate herself with appreciating Eden’s incredibly deadly look glare and the rest of their conversation.

Caspia was intrigued to hear Chaska’s answers. She was in agreement with his favourite weapons. Though she’d never even touched a scythe, spears were just the ordinary version of a trident and swords were the first weapons she’d ever trained with.
She also nodded vigorously at his instantaneous answer to her question, though he seemed a little unsure if the response was valid enough.
“I don’t think it’s a lame response. It’s probably the first thing that would pop in my mind too.”
Caspia did do plenty of sparring even outside of the ‘Career Academy’ though she also ran and dived and did all sorts of other entertaining stuff with friends. It seemed a shame that Chaska hadn’t really got to do the extra stuff. She did find it especially curious how different the two District 2 Career’s training and upbringings were. Caspia didn’t think anyone in District 4 were taught quite as viciously as Chaska, training belonged in a few hours after school, and she wondered whether that level of training was common in District 2.
The next two questions posed were even more interesting. Eden and Gloria were clearly more creative than she was, and she again was eager to her the answer.

It was nice to see Rieka’s face brightening as more and more people checked up on her though Felix wondered if he and Penny should back off now that they knew she was alright, he didn’t want to stress her out by crowding her. He didn’t have to address that thought though, interrupted by the sound of a gasp from Penny, accompanied by her bumping into him. Automatically, his hand came up to grip her arm in a supporting gesture while the other hand was still carefully balancing his tray.
“Don’t worry about it,” he responded to her apology. “Are you okay? Maybe we should find a seat and actually eat some of this food, huh?”

Reyna practically howled with laughter as the District Two chick shot back. As laughs shook her body, she knocked her knee into the table, sending pins and needles shooting up her leg. This only made it funnier to her.
By the time she calmed down, the Careers had moved on with their conversation. What a shame. At least they appeared to be interviewing Gloria's rage-filled district partner, a fun opponent in his own right. Reyna had the urge to eavesdrop, but she couldn't spend all her energy on the Careers. She'd enraged them enough at this point.
"Some real fiesty Careers this year," She remarked to Sharnaz. "Do you have a favorite?"

Caspia's comment warmed Eden's heart. He thanked her with a grateful smile, a silent gesture since he didn't want to derail Chaska's questioning session. Gloria had just chimed in with a fourth inquiry.
Speaking of Gloria, she seemed to have an endless arsenal of witty insults. Each creative comment against Reyna brought a smile to Eden's face. Despite a rough start earlier - cultural barriers maybe? - Gloria was really starting to grow on him in a good way.
Back in District One, he never imagined other districts' people would be so diverse and interesting. Even other Career districts' tributes brought entirely distinct sets of strengths and flaws to the table. It made Eden wonder - maybe the training systems of One, Two, and Four were more different than he'd ever thought. He was sure culture played a role in it too. Even in previous Hunger Games, District Four seemed more laid-back while District Two blazed with a tell-tale fiery determination. Much brighter than Reyna's fire.

Colby chuckled and shook his head. "The only girl back home that I care about it my sister, Mae. I miss her a lot.." He thought about his little sister, she was 15, although she'd be having her 16th birthday soon. It pained him that he wouldn't be there for it. Suddenly he glanced up with a chuckle. "Sorry! Didn't mean to darken the mood or anything."

Chaska's eyes widened at Caspia's words and then the look of shock warmed to one of appreciation. The warmth didn't last too long but it wasn't subtle. He would have said something else but his attention was pulled back to Eden when the other career asked him a question. Uncertainty flickered across his face and averted his eyes to stare at the food that was mostly gone at this point. Fiddling with his fork he tried to come up with something good. However nothing came to mind and he let out a long sigh. "Never die?? I don't really know of many mottos and none of the ones that I have heard are ones that I would live by. As for quotes again I am not to familiar with many. My sister would be the one to ask about those. She is much smarter than I am" he replied. Forcing himself to put any dark thoughts about that question out of his mind he turned to Gloria curiously. "If I won? I would take my sister to live as far away from my father as possible and keep her safe from the games" he said confidently. There wasn't much else he wanted from wining the games. With that he glanced over at Caspia. "I know I am the one who is supposed to be answering question but I was curious. What kind of training does your district go through?" he inquired. He knew for a fact that his own training had been over the top but he was curious if maybe the other districts were also as strict as his father had been.

Sharnaz shook her head slightly. "I think from what I have seen they value their alliance and so if we try and mess with one it will cause them all to come after us. It would be better to wait and see if there is any way to cause a splintering in the group. One or two careers aren't as dangerous as a group of them" she replied as she peered at the table of careers. It had also been made clear that threatening on the the younger tributes might also get a rise out of them. But that would only work after they had split up, she wasn't so brazen to think that the two of them could take on all six of the careers. Her attention was pulled back to Reyna when she was asked about who was her favorite. Giving Reyna a non committal shrug she glanced back at the the group, non of them had really stood out to her. They were careers and that is all she had really payed attention to. Picking a favorite hadn't really be on her mind. "They are all strong, they have trained for this. Even the the bleeding heart careers shouldn't be taken lightly. Regardless of how we deal with them we should be careful" she said while purposefully avoiding the question.

As much as Reyna hated to admit it, her partner in crime was right. Sharnaz really was the smart one of the duo. From what little they'd seen, she was able to analyze these intricacies of the Career Alliance. What else was the District Five tribute capable of? Reyna grinned at the thought - she couldn't wait to find out.
"I'd love to watch them tear each other apart," She snickered. "The prissy princesses from Districts One and Two would be my prime targets for that. If we have one murder the other, what will the alliance do with the survivor?"
She groaned as Sharnaz reminded her of the Careers' strength. No way would that pathetic Eden last more than a minute in a real fight, but fine. If Sharnaz said it then it must have at least a grain of truth. "I don't like it, but okay. I trust you."
Reyna met Sharnaz' eyes, nothing but honesty in her own. She'd never had a friend like this back home. Even her fellow delinquents were single-minded like herself, destructive and chaotic, none coming close to Sharnaz's wits.

Eden listened intently to his ally's responses. Sounded like Chaska had a strong bond with his sister, not so much with his father. This, combined with Chaska's previous mentions of a rigid diet and harsh training regime, suggested both children were better off far away from that man's custody. "I want to propose an idea," He said to the other Careers gathered around. "If any one of us wins, we do our best to make sure Chaska's sister is taken care of. Who's with me?"
The subject then shifted to training regiments of different districts. Eden's eyes lit up with excitement, but he silenced himself before launching into a tirade about District One. He realized Chaska had directed the question specifically towards Caspia.
Maybe it was for the best. A part of Eden wasn't ready to discuss what happened back there.

Zoe took a sip of the warm spiced milk and shuddered in delight. She had cleared off her plate and was feeling a bit queasy. She patted her rounding belly and burped softly, dissolving into giggles. She remembered ruefully of the scarce food that was given at home, and how many times she'd had to take tesserae to feed the children begging in the streets. It really wasn't a surprise that she had been chosen. Now, she wondered grimly, who would feed the children when she was dead? She knew she wouldn't win. Compared to the brute strength and generous sponsors of the Careers, she had no chance. A sadness fell over her and she decided to stop those thoughts. Moses, Colby, and Sienna were joking about dating and all blushing a bit and Zoe was glad that they were happy. She looked around the room to see most people chattering away like starlings, smiling, and asking questions. She brushed a hair behind her ear and turned back to her empty plate. How could she try to murder these people? She stood up and cleared her plate. Now was not the time to be thinking about this.
