"I know. We just have to stick it out tonight and a bit of tomorrow. Then we'll be out. After that, we’ve gotta keep movin' all day, but by the end of the first night, any and all tracking methods will be shut down," Karter promised. He was confident in that. He could take care of the technology part, that was easy. Convincing Janson they needed to be turned out early? THAT. THAT would be the hard part.

BAILEY offered a small smile but couldn’t do much else. She sat up straight and glanced towards Janson, narrowing her eyes slightly. “He’s a RAT” she hissed under her breath. “So how do we convince him?” She asked.

Karter grinned. "Leave that piece to me. I've already stressed the importance of gettin' outta here sooner rather than later, so I’m hopin' he'll speed things along, set us out as the first group. I think I can nab him at some point today and see if I can push just a little more. As far as he’s aware, I’m with them and ready to lead the way to the Safe Haven, and they can track us. They don’t know yet that after a day, the trackin' devices'll shut off completely," He explained. Everything was set up, as far as he could tell. He just had to rig the technology, then insist on speeding things up. Preferably before Janson could call anyone else in.

Bailey smiled at Karter, watching him explain the plan. At least they were in the hands of someone who was more than capable. She sighed slightly and scratched the side of her head before she turned to see Janson who seemed to be calling more people up. "Karter... do you think he will call anyone else from this group?" she asked.

Karter's eyebrows creased together as she mentioned it. It was entirely possible. He hadn’t heard anything to suggest Janson would take them in, since he seemed to want their group out in the Scorch, but nor had he said anything to suggest it was out of the question. "I dunno, Bee. When I talked to Janson yesterday, he didn’t say anythin' 'bout it. I tried to keep him busy, that way he wouldn’t ask for my opinion on our group to see who really are the best of the best, and force me to choose some people over others," he admitted.

Bailey felt slightly more intimidated by this place now, but she didn’t let it show. “So, we know they aren’t taking them straight to the safe haven” she mumbled, her eyes focussed on Janson as he did his thing at the front of the cafeteria. “Ok, so that gives me a bit of hope that we should be safe. Hopefully they don’t need to take us” she agreed.

"Oh they don’t WANT us to get to the Safe Haven. The Safe Haven is free from them, where everyone can live safely. They wanna find and destroy it, but they’ve failed all this time," Karter explained, shaking his head. "I dunno exactly where they take 'em or what happens, but I can reckon it ain’t good."

Bailey scoffed slightly in anger at the stupidity of the whole situation. "I cannot believe that amount of people who know that information and are foolish enough to believe that wicked is still good" she grumbled, her voice filled with rage.

Caia stroked her sheep's head as she entered the cafeteria. She was starving and wanted to get something to eat. She looked around for James but couldn't find him. She was concerned for him. It felt like at any moment he would get in trouble with the authorities here and she wouldn't be able to save him from being hurt. She spotted Winston and smiled, though she was still worried. She felt like she was torn between him and James. Sure, she could be friends with both of them, but she couldn't be with both of them, and she cared about them equally. She went over to Winston, taking a seat beside him.

"I don’t think many people outside of WICKED itself believe they’re actually good. They’re tryin' to find a cure. I get that. It’s respectable, their efforts, but what’s NOT respectable is the way they’re doin' things." Karter's voice held the faintest shake, and a slightly bitter undertone. He’d worked for them. He’d believed in the cure until he saw what desperate measures were being taken. If these kinds of things were what WICKED had come down to, then they were grasping at straws. There was no foreseeable cure.

Winston looked up from the last of his food as Caia slid into the seat next to him. "Hey, how’re you holding up?" He could sense something was on her mind, but he was not a mind reader. He couldn’t tell exactly what. Her energy was simply a bit more reserved, her face a bit more shadowed than normal. Of course, they were all worried about something or other, but he couldn’t help but notice it more on her.
