- It was clear from the moment he summoned Arsene that Varu had gone on the defensive. That was something Ren hadn't anticipated, although he probably should have expected. It was for much different reason though. Anyone in their right mind would have been taken aback from some creature such as Arsene appearing from a mask of all things unless they were accustomed to such things happening in their home world. Her words were what truly caught him off guard though. "Kanohi?" he repeated. Confusion was plastered all over the boy's face making it clear that he had never heard of such a term before. Maybe her world had something akin to what Arsene was though and that was what they were called. If that was truly that was a bit of a surprise. Most didn't even know the existence of personas back home, but maybe this Kanohi she spoke of was common knowledge to her own kind. At her next words, he quirked a brow. Shadow beings. Now he was truly curious if the Metaverse overlapped with other universes as well although Arsene himself wasn't a shadow. He was the personification of his own rebellious heart. His other personas that were not present though, had once been shadows. However, they had created a vow with him and became part of his own being. That was how his wildcard ability worked. Shadows who wished to join him could if they created a contract of sorts with him. It didn't seem that these Kanohi were similar in that way. From the sounds of it they seemed to be difficult to control while the personas that him and his team used were obedient to their desires since they were "born from their hearts" so to say. Still, it was interesting to hear of something that was even remotely similar to his own power. "Arsene here isn't a Kanohi you speak of. Actually, he is what we refer to as personas. There is no need to worry of him turning against us for he is part of me, my rebellious spirit so to say."
It was a rough description of what his companion was and he doubted it would suffice, but it was the best he could do. Explaining exactly what Arsene was rather difficult at times especially those that didn't have knowledge of the Metaverse. Nevertheless, the teen decided to heed Varu's warning for the time being although he knew it wouldn't be necessary for him. Giving the persona quick look, he could tell that his companion was less than pleased to be called upon for a simple "show and tell," but that was no reason for him to do anything rash or even make some snarky comment. Instead, as Ren lifted a hand back up to his face, the blue flames returned once again and reformed the mask upon his face. "You can trust me that you do not need to worry about Arsene unless you decide to attack me then he would be a problem you'd need to deal with. Otherwise, he fights alongside me with no hesitation." Dropping his hand away from his face once again, Joker tucked it back into his pocket as he took a relaxed stance once again. "But I'm curious, you speak of these beings from your world that must be similar to the likes of Arsene. What are they like? I know that probably does not matter right now, but it is odd to hear about things that are even remotely similar to my own persona." He knew that focusing on such a topic probably wasn't the smartest thing right now, but given that it wasn't something they possibly had in common between their two worlds it might at least be something to make him feel a bit more at ease.

- There Lumia went calling her a kid again. Of course Kasumi was fine with respecting those older than she was and was quite polite towards them, she felt as if she was being looked down upon from the use of the word. This girl hardly looked much older than she was. Like she had already thought, it was hard to assume age based on appearance alone given how looks could be deceiving. Giving a small shake of her head, that was beside the point. It was clear that her words had been misunderstood anyways. She hadn't implied that this other didn't know that adults were corrupt, but simply was pointing out that leaving everything to adults wasn't necessarily the right path to take and that others would disagree with thinking that way. Nevertheless, she had to listen to the other girl's brief history even though it wasn't something that truly mattered in the moment. One thing was clear from it though, and that was that this other was not a human like she appeared unless her world was some savage one that was still hunting and collecting like that had in the olden days. She highly doubted that though given the clothing style. It certainly didn't remind her of what history books made old clothing seem to be. Letting Lumia go on, Kasumi was quick to find fault in her words. Never once had she stated that she had underestimated her. All she had said was that if she wished to stay behind that she was probably able to. She did not once state that she was weak or anything of the sort. It was as if she was putting words in her mouth. As much as it bothered the young gymnast, she decided not to mention that part, but something else became ever present the more this other spoke. Here she was going on scolding her about underestimating others while she was quick to say that she had "killed things tougher than her." Wasn't that a contradiction to what she had just stated with underestimating others? How did she know exactly what Kasumi was capable of? It seemed she only wanted to insist that she was much stronger without even knowing what she was capable of doing. What a hypocrite.
Besides that, Kasumi wasn't overly appreciative of the aggression that was coming from this other girl. The more she talked, the more the teen could tell they simply wouldn't get along. Maybe it was best to take her leave while she could and approach another. That might make her seem like a coward though and she wasn't fond of that thought. Still, she didn't wish to argue with some stranger over useless things. Giving another shake of her head, Kasumi let a sigh escape her lips as she placed a hand on her hip. It was probably time she spoke up so she could stop hearing of this other's past and move onto something that actually matter. Deciding to disregard most of what had been said to her, she figured she could at least focus on the last portion of what had been said. "I can't say I find this interesting either, but I do not believe there is some hierarchy of who deserves to die sooner and who doesn't. These people are asking for our help and while we have the right to deny it to them, I feel that decision should be made by each individual themself," she said. It was evident that she was doing her best to keep a polite tone despite the way she was being spoken to in the moment. With those words, Kasumi turned away from Lumia and looked around the rest of the lobby. "Nobody can determine who among these strangers should or should not die. That is why they must be the ones to decide if they wish to fight. Surely you can agree with that much."
