      Ren Amamiya!!
      xxxxmale seventeen years old persona 5 tagged: varu
      ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

      It was clear from the moment he summoned Arsene that Varu had gone on the defensive. That was something Ren hadn't anticipated, although he probably should have expected. It was for much different reason though. Anyone in their right mind would have been taken aback from some creature such as Arsene appearing from a mask of all things unless they were accustomed to such things happening in their home world. Her words were what truly caught him off guard though. "Kanohi?" he repeated. Confusion was plastered all over the boy's face making it clear that he had never heard of such a term before. Maybe her world had something akin to what Arsene was though and that was what they were called. If that was truly that was a bit of a surprise. Most didn't even know the existence of personas back home, but maybe this Kanohi she spoke of was common knowledge to her own kind. At her next words, he quirked a brow. Shadow beings. Now he was truly curious if the Metaverse overlapped with other universes as well although Arsene himself wasn't a shadow. He was the personification of his own rebellious heart. His other personas that were not present though, had once been shadows. However, they had created a vow with him and became part of his own being. That was how his wildcard ability worked. Shadows who wished to join him could if they created a contract of sorts with him. It didn't seem that these Kanohi were similar in that way. From the sounds of it they seemed to be difficult to control while the personas that him and his team used were obedient to their desires since they were "born from their hearts" so to say. Still, it was interesting to hear of something that was even remotely similar to his own power. "Arsene here isn't a Kanohi you speak of. Actually, he is what we refer to as personas. There is no need to worry of him turning against us for he is part of me, my rebellious spirit so to say."

      It was a rough description of what his companion was and he doubted it would suffice, but it was the best he could do. Explaining exactly what Arsene was rather difficult at times especially those that didn't have knowledge of the Metaverse. Nevertheless, the teen decided to heed Varu's warning for the time being although he knew it wouldn't be necessary for him. Giving the persona quick look, he could tell that his companion was less than pleased to be called upon for a simple "show and tell," but that was no reason for him to do anything rash or even make some snarky comment. Instead, as Ren lifted a hand back up to his face, the blue flames returned once again and reformed the mask upon his face. "You can trust me that you do not need to worry about Arsene unless you decide to attack me then he would be a problem you'd need to deal with. Otherwise, he fights alongside me with no hesitation." Dropping his hand away from his face once again, Joker tucked it back into his pocket as he took a relaxed stance once again. "But I'm curious, you speak of these beings from your world that must be similar to the likes of Arsene. What are they like? I know that probably does not matter right now, but it is odd to hear about things that are even remotely similar to my own persona." He knew that focusing on such a topic probably wasn't the smartest thing right now, but given that it wasn't something they possibly had in common between their two worlds it might at least be something to make him feel a bit more at ease.

      There Lumia went calling her a kid again. Of course Kasumi was fine with respecting those older than she was and was quite polite towards them, she felt as if she was being looked down upon from the use of the word. This girl hardly looked much older than she was. Like she had already thought, it was hard to assume age based on appearance alone given how looks could be deceiving. Giving a small shake of her head, that was beside the point. It was clear that her words had been misunderstood anyways. She hadn't implied that this other didn't know that adults were corrupt, but simply was pointing out that leaving everything to adults wasn't necessarily the right path to take and that others would disagree with thinking that way. Nevertheless, she had to listen to the other girl's brief history even though it wasn't something that truly mattered in the moment. One thing was clear from it though, and that was that this other was not a human like she appeared unless her world was some savage one that was still hunting and collecting like that had in the olden days. She highly doubted that though given the clothing style. It certainly didn't remind her of what history books made old clothing seem to be. Letting Lumia go on, Kasumi was quick to find fault in her words. Never once had she stated that she had underestimated her. All she had said was that if she wished to stay behind that she was probably able to. She did not once state that she was weak or anything of the sort. It was as if she was putting words in her mouth. As much as it bothered the young gymnast, she decided not to mention that part, but something else became ever present the more this other spoke. Here she was going on scolding her about underestimating others while she was quick to say that she had "killed things tougher than her." Wasn't that a contradiction to what she had just stated with underestimating others? How did she know exactly what Kasumi was capable of? It seemed she only wanted to insist that she was much stronger without even knowing what she was capable of doing. What a hypocrite.

      Besides that, Kasumi wasn't overly appreciative of the aggression that was coming from this other girl. The more she talked, the more the teen could tell they simply wouldn't get along. Maybe it was best to take her leave while she could and approach another. That might make her seem like a coward though and she wasn't fond of that thought. Still, she didn't wish to argue with some stranger over useless things. Giving another shake of her head, Kasumi let a sigh escape her lips as she placed a hand on her hip. It was probably time she spoke up so she could stop hearing of this other's past and move onto something that actually matter. Deciding to disregard most of what had been said to her, she figured she could at least focus on the last portion of what had been said. "I can't say I find this interesting either, but I do not believe there is some hierarchy of who deserves to die sooner and who doesn't. These people are asking for our help and while we have the right to deny it to them, I feel that decision should be made by each individual themself," she said. It was evident that she was doing her best to keep a polite tone despite the way she was being spoken to in the moment. With those words, Kasumi turned away from Lumia and looked around the rest of the lobby. "Nobody can determine who among these strangers should or should not die. That is why they must be the ones to decide if they wish to fight. Surely you can agree with that much."

Emiko Shina & Gaomon
―――――――――――――——―――———―
◄13 & 15|female & male|human & digimon|asexual|tagged; emerald ►
    indentationJust as Gaomon looked behind the door a woman with green hair was threatening him with some kind of weapon. Gaomon immediately bared his teeth and got himself into a fighting stance. Just as he did so, Emiko poked her head around the door and her eyes went wide in surprise. ”WAIT, WAIT, STOP!” Emiko managed to just barely stumble in between the two of them, arms outstretched. “H-h-he won’t hurt you I promise!” She glanced back at the blue dog with a pleading look, begging him not to start anything. Gaomon had stepped to the side in order to continue glaring and growling, but upon seeing Emiko he frowned and lowered his guard. However, he still walked in front of Emiko, defiantly staring down the other woman.

    “Just so you know, she pointed that thing at me first.” Gaomon grumbled as Emiko picked him up and held him in her arms. She knew this would put both of them more at ease since Gaomon could easily digivolve if he needed to in this position. Of course, Emiko didn’t want things to ever get to that point but the situation was getting entirely too stressful for her to think straight.

Toa Varu||Bionicle||Female||Tagged: Ren
    "Kanohi aren't beings," Varu said, "they're masks. Matoran forge them from Kanoka disks, and they can have different powers depending on what the disks used to make them were. Generally only Toa and Turaga can use mask powers, but I'm guessing you're probably the equivalent in your world." To demonstrate, Varu teleported a short distance forwards, then returned to her original spot, her mask glowing with golden light. "I have a Kanohi Kualsi," she said, "the Great Mask of Quick-Travel. There are masks like yours in my world as well, Kanohi Zatth. Usually they don't work as well as yours though, I don't think they can control what they summon. That might just be Toa Zurvan, though, he's a little... dense." The Toa of Plasma's misadventures with his mask power weren't' something she'd soon forget. Most of the Rahi he summoned attacked them as much as they attacked their enemies. This Arsene creature didn't immediately try to kill her, so Joker's mask might have worked differently, but she wasn't about to let her guard down around it regardless. It was the duty of a Toa to stand against the forces of darkness, after all, even if that darkness was an ally. "Do you have Kanoka in your world too, then?" She asked, "what kind of disks did your Ta-Matoran forge your mask with?"

Ashirah Indoril

The Nerevarine | Female | Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind | Tagged: Saffron/SCP-1487

Ashirah blinked as Saffron tried to pronounce her name. After living for so long on Vvardenfell she was used to seeing mainly other Dunmer who had no problems with her name. Saffron’s difficulty was a flash to Ashirah’s past, back when she lived in Cyrodill and was one of the only Dunmer around.

“Sure.” She offered. ‘Ash’ was a familiar nickname. What Saffron said next made very little sense, though. Again the girl talked about bones and robots, but this time she seemed more curious than frightened. Probably because it was clear that Ashirah wouldn’t attack her. But why was Saffron so curious about bones? The Nerevarine wondered once more if this wasn’t a human girl but a demon in disguise. If it was, it wasn’t very good at hiding its nature.

Ashirah, again, decided to risk it. She loosened the straps on her right gauntlet and took it off, revealing her hand and Moon-And-Star, the enchanted ring that marked her as Nerevar reborn, “Look, this is a suit of armor. See? I’m just as alive as you are. Why are you so fixated on bones, anyway?”

((Don’t worry!))

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Letting out a soft sigh, she looked at the room around her.
"What I meant was this," she said, "Why bring us here if there are murders and other criminals who deserve to perish instead of the good people here?I mean, yea, we're probably stronger, but if someone here dies, it will impact others greatly."
She shook her head a bit, before her icy gaze looked back to the teen briefly, her composure returned.
"I know that probably no one here deserves that fate, but I can agree on that. It's a conscious decision that must be made by the person themselves," she replied, her eyes scanning each person again, "It's a strange world that none of us know, and that will be frightening to some. Especially those with witch-like powers, or seer abilities. I know the scents are overwhelming myself a bit. I'm not exactly fond of being dragged out of a hunting session without a valid reason."
Tilting her head to the right a bit as she noted the robotic concierge, she let out a hum of curiosity at the machine. Her eyes narrowed at the mechanical device,as she discreetly sniffed at the air.
"Elf, humans, a few unknown scents,Some tinted with magicka, others without, one mildly metallic smelling," she thought to herself, "Clear otherwise. It'll be fine to relax myself a bit, right?"
Pointing out the robot at the counter to the younger teen, her gaze remained on the device as she spoke.
"Perhaps that machine has answers? I personally don't really trust things like that as far as I can throw them, but it could be useful for you, seems your keen on fighting," she mused, partially to herself, before turning back to the younger teen, "I'm a bit rough-around the edges, but I call those younger than me pup. Force of habit. Don't take it personal, as you seem to have.It's not a demeaning thing, just a title thing. I picked it up back in the pack days, since the elders drill into our heads so to speak."
While 1487 continued to wonder about whether this thing was a machine or not, it went to its wrist and pulled off its hand. As Ash explained the metal 1487 was seeing was a suit of armor, Saffron inhaled sharply. "Ohhhhhhhhh, okay that makes sense. You're human, I see the bones now yeah." The removal of the gauntlet revealed a skeletal hand, hardened by battle and reflecting the wear of both the gauntlet and use of a weapon. Nested around the ring bones was an ornate ring, which drew the curious SCP closer. Before she could ask about it, Ash had a question of her own. "Why are you so fixated on bones, anyway?" 1487 sheepishly pulled her hand away from Ash's fingers and rubbed the back of her head, laughing with embarrassment. "Aha, I probably shoulda' explained that before anything else. I'm... not normal." She explained. 'Anomalous' is the term most people use, and where I come from they call me an SCP. SCP-1487." Saffron pointed to the designation on her shirt. "I can't see people. Or, touch people. Just their bones. So that," she pointed to Ash's hand. "is just a ring floating around a pile of bones. Bones in the shape of a hand, y'know?"
"stop? how can i trust you!" emerald reached another hand back and grabbed the other piece of her weapon, pointing them both at the two. "im not afraid to shoot if you dont explain your presence here immediately," she threatened, not scared by the blue dog... thing. whatever it was. since getting the initial message, she decided not to trust anyone. this place seem sketchy at best, and she couldnt find the way out, so this was where she was, stuck with some idiots. in all honesty, emerald didnt want to fight people, she wanted to fight monsters. but if she had to, she would.
lain stared down the boy, slanting her eyebrows. again but in a firmer tone, she asked, "who are you?" but to her dismay, the boy disappeared with a blink. she rubbed her eyes and blinked again. just... gone, like that. "an... angel?" lain whispered. she wondered passively if he was like her, and she was just in some wired simulation. turning, she started back down the hall. oddly enough, the feeling this place emitted was a calm one, serene enough to make lain feel at home.
"hello?" she called out again just as she had before, trying to speak louder this time.
Ashirah Indoril
The Nerevarine | Female | Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind | Tagged: Saffron/SCP-1487
Ashirah held out her hand calmly. Saffron was instantly drawn to Moon-And-Star, as everyone is. The white, shining ring marked her as Nerevar reborn, as anyone but Nerevar who wears it will die instantly. This was thanks to an enchantment placed on it by Azura, the Daedric Goddess herself. Luckily nobody else have tried to wear Moon-And-Star, so the enchantment has never killed anyone. Saffron doesn’t know about that, though, so Ashirah kept a close watch just in case her ring suddenly slipped off.
Saffron spoke, again about bones, and then sheepishly explained why. Ashirah almost laughed: partly with relief that “SCP-1487” wasn’t secretly a demon sent to kill her (this story was way too unusual and specific to be a lie) but also because it was a bit funny. Funny in a tragic sense. This poor girl was cursed with bone-sight of all things! She was blinded to the flesh, the most important thing a person sees of others. Gods, it must be so hard for her to tell people apart! They all look like skeletons. Can she even see expressions, or does she have to judge purely off of tone and body language? And she was identified and dubbed “SCP-1487”, which sounds pretty similar to the prison codes they used back in Cyrodill to demoralize the prisoners. Ashirah had first-hand experience with that. She was prisoner number D-1514307. ‘D’ for Dunmer, and then a random seven digit identifier. She loathed that number.
“That sounds...awful.” Ashirah said. She grit her teeth and put her glove back on, “Well I certainly won’t call you that. You’re a person, not a number, Saffron! An ‘anomaly’, or curse, or whatever doesn’t change that.” Ashirah paused. She was getting worked up now and it was harder to think straight. Usually she tried to speak eloquently to make a good impression, but that was all an act. Ashirah grew up poor and spent a decade in prison; she was used to using crude language and slang.
“You know what? Screw this armor! House Indoril gave it to me as a sign of their undying loyalty or whatever that s’wit spat out, but it’s covering my stupid face right now and you need all the help you can get to see me.” Ashirah fumbled with the straps on her helmet, ripping it off as soon as she could. She almost threw it to the ground, but quickly held it to her chest.
“Ugh! There we go. Okay, this is my face—er, skull. Look all you want.” She looked down at her helmet. The death mask of Nerevar stared up at her. She suppressed a shudder, “His face still creeps me out. Some fetcher in House Indoril took his death mask and made a helmet. It became the Ordinator’s uniform. Now I see my old face staring at me everywhere in Vivec. I can’t escape it.”
She looked up at Saffron and joked, “And here we are. You can’t see faces and I don’t want to see this one! Too bad we can’t trade, huh? I’d take your curse and you can take mine! It’s barely a problem anyway since we’re nowhere near Vivec City so you can live a better life.”
Emiko Shina & Gaomon
―――――――――――――——―――———―
◄13 & 15|female & male|human & digimon|asexual|tagged; emerald ►
    indentationMuch to Emiko’s dismay the woman was still being quite aggressive. The situation was clearly escalating and upon seeing a second weapon, her mind almost went blank. Gaomon on the other hand was losing patience fast. ”Look lady, I don’t know if you heard the announcement but we are here to help, unfortunately. We are here to get rid of the monsters but I’m not above beating you into the ground too.” Gaomon clearly couldn’t care less about tactfulness and with Emiko still struggling just to stay calm, there wasn’t much protest from her. Although, while being held in her arms like a teddy bear, he didn’t come off as very threatening. “So, how about you stop pointing that thing at me and Emi?”
    At this point Emiko was hiding her face behind Gaomon, unable to even look the other woman in the eyes. However, she still managed to at least chime in, “W-we really don’t want to fight. W-we just want t-t-to help I swear. We can do whatever you want to prove it, s-so could you please put the w-weapons down?” Her voice was shaky and barely above a whisper but she hoped her sincerity at least got across. She had assumed this stranger was in the same situation they were as her clothing didn’t exactly scream hotel staff. Considering how jarring the situation was, Emiko could understand the woman’s frustration. She simply wanted to help ease her worries, and hopefully make an ally along the way.
Postby Ploegy » Tue May 26, 2020 4:12 am
      Ren Amamiya!!
      xxxxmale seventeen years old persona 5 tagged: varu
      ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
      Taking in the information that he was given, Ren let a soft hum escape his lips. So the Kanohi Varu spoke of weren't beings like personas were. Instead they were simply the masks. That made much more sense. It seemed she had one of these things she spoke of although from her demonstration it was clear that her's didn't have the power to summon a shadow being, but rather allowed her to teleport. Her mask also glowed golden instead of turning into blue flames and disappearing like his did. Still it was interesting to see that there was a similarity between their activation too. What he found more intriguing though was that Varu mentioned there being masks like his own, but they had no control over what they summoned. In some what that was like his wildcard ability although he had complete control over which personas he had access to and which ones he summoned. He would have demonstrated that here to show what he was truly capable of, but he could only feel the presence of Arsene within his mask at the current moment. It was as if the others he had been using were gone. Maybe that was some effect of this world. He wasn't entirely sure. It was probably for the best that Arsene was the only one with him though. Some of his other personas could be a little more aggressive especially towards strangers they might deem to be shadows. While they would ultimately listen to him in the end, it was still possible they would have caused more issues than needed. Arsene on the other hand wasn't one to do such though he was one that usually made snarky remarks from time to time. It was a surprise he had kept quiet upon his first summoning in a strange place. Then again, that might be for the better too. He usually was the only one that could hear his personas though he wondered if this place would change that given that he could understand speech that clearly wouldn't have been of the same language as himself. Finding himself too deep in thought again, Ren almost missed the question that was thrown his way. Perking up at it, the teen gave a quirk of his brow, clearly confused by what he had been asked.
      "Disks? Ta-Matoran? I can't say I'm familiar with these things when it comes to my mask," he admitted. When he thought of disks it was usually CDs or something along those lines, not something to do with a mask. As for Ta-Matoran, he didn't even know what that was. "Actually, my mask was purely created from forming a contract with Arsene and accepting that I had been wronged in my life. It's a sign of my rebellious will and desire to stand against the society that has turned its back on me. Usually it only shows up in a cognitive dimension that exists within my world, but it seems this place allows for it too." It was the best way he could explain how his mask was created and what it actually stood for. He probably could have gone in depth and stated that creating a contract to earn the mask did cause a lot of pain at first, but he was sure details of ripping a mask off his face and making himself bleed wasn't needed in the current moment. Even if he had wanted to continue on with his explanation, he couldn't. His attention was immediately pulled away from Varu as the sound of screaming echoed outside and his gaze moved to the front doors. There was no way the others wouldn't hear it too. Many screams arose from beyond the doors and loud footsteps rushed past them. Averting his gaze to the nearby windows, he could see humanoid beings rushing past the inn, panic written on their faces. Something was happening now. Turning back to Varu, he gave an apologetic dip of his head before speaking. "As much as I would love to continue this casual conversation, it seems there are more pressing matters already. It might be best for us to check them out." He didn't even wait for her answer before he made his way towards the doors. It was much like him to take the lead and react as soon as possible. In some ways, it was a bit reckless of him, but his fellow thieves always noted that to him. He could still remember Ann's words from when he jumped through the casino's windows in Sae's palace to escape his capture. "You're so reckless, you know that?" Of course he did.
      Pushing that thought aside, Ren stepped outside just in time to watch a few villagers rush past him. None seemed to pay much mind to him which was fine. His attention was taken by what was perched upon the large wall up ahead. Atop of it sat a large feline creature. It was much bigger than any cat he had ever laid eyes upon. The fact that it was at the top of the wall as well was troublesome. Having such a large beast looming over the city was enough to rise concern within him. For now it seemed to be making no moves, but he was sure it would think to do something soon. Going in alone was nothing but a death wish though. For now he'd at least wait for Varu to join him and see what she thought of the situation.
      Kasumi Yoshizawa!!
      xxxxfemale fifteen years old persona 5 royal tagged: lumia
      ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
      Kasumi still couldn't agree with what Lumia was saying. This wasn't some kind of punishment nor were they supposed to perish in this situation. This was a call for help, not a death sentence. She doubted saying that would do much good though, thus she kept it to herself. These people wished to be helped and if Lumia wished to think that criminals of all people would even think of doing that then so be it. There was no reason for her to try and argue with another's opinion when it clearly wasn't going to change. Sure, there was the possibility that someone could die when dealing with this, but that was the danger they were putting themselves in if they agreed to help. As much as she would have been preferred not to be put in this situation, she wasn't going to back down from it because of the fear of meeting death. Death did scare her greatly, especially after she had lost her twin not too long ago, but his consciously couldn't let herself step away from offering her abilities to help those in need right now. Ever since her sister had died, she had been relying on others to be the ones to help her. She was tired of not being there to help those who looked out for her. While she had no obligation to those people here, she still had been brought here and as luck may have it, so had the one she looked up to the most. Kasumi knew exactly how he was going to react. That was enough to convince her own heart that she was ready to stand up and fight too. Pushing that thought aside, she glanced back over her shoulder at Lumia as she spoke again. It seemed they could at least agree on one thing. That was good. However, the next statement was what truly caught her attention. "You can smell magical powers and abilities? Is that what you're saying?" she asked curiously. That was how she had taken that statement at least. It made her wonder if her own abilities were evident then or if she came off as nothing more than a mere human. But it also made her wonder what exactly she might be picking up on about the others in the room as well.
      Following Lumia's gaze to the machine behind the front counter, Kasumi still was hesitant to approach it much like she had been before. While it seemed harmless, she still had no desire to speak with it. Her current company seemed to be suggesting she do otherwise though since she was keen on fighting. Nobody else seemed to be doing that though. Even Ren hadn't approached it. Giving a small shake of her head, she dismissed the suggestion. "I don't think that will be necessary right now." Maybe it would provide information, but from the sounds of it they may be finding it out faster than talking to it. Instead of focusing on what Lumia stated about why she called people pup and the like, Kasumi's attention was drawn towards the doors as the sounds of screams came from beyond them. Something was happening. It was clear she wasn't the first to react to it though. Watching as Ren exited the building, the young gymnastic stared with wide eyes. Was he really going to go off on his own to investigate? As the urge arose to follow him, it took everything in herself to hold back. Still, she was curious as to what was happening outside. "It sounds like it'll be easier to tell what's going on just by going outside right now," she finally said as she pulled her gaze away from the doors. "Don't get me wrong, I'm not thrilled about being here for this, but these people need help. I think we can both agree on that." Pausing for a moment, Kasumi closed her eyes and let a sigh escape her lips. Her confident stance from before quickly disappearing as her body began to show signs of anxiety and nervousness. "Do you plan on seeing what is happening out there? If so maybe we should go together. But I guess if we do that, then an introduction is necessary," she stated, realizing she hadn't even given her name yet. The thought hadn't even crossed her mind given how the conversation had gone thus far. "I am Kasumi."
