Kit finished eating, staring thoughtfully at the wall for several moments before heading over to Uciel. "Hi," she greeted. "How are you doing? Can you believe we'll be out of here soon?"

Uciel had just taken his empty bowl to the counter for the Cooks to deal with, and had returned to the table he had sat mostly alone at. Then a voice spoke from behind him, and he spun around to see Kit standing there. She seemed to be in a good enough mood, which was a good sign. News they were getting out soon would surely boost everyone's morale though. They’d worked a long time for this.

"Me? I’m...I'm doing good. I mean, this is the best news I can remember ever getting! No...I can’t believe we're getting out, but I hope I wake up tomorrow and it turns out this wasn’t a dream! What about you?"

Karter groaned to himself. "Of course. Haven’t. Changed. One. Bit." It sounded like a complaint, but in truth, there was a bit of relief in that for him. He closed his eyes for a long moment, just taking that moment to breathe, regulate his thoughts. "Well, it’s out there now." He was tempted to apologize again, for running away, for not saying anything, but figured that would be shut down quickly.

"I know right? It's.. almost hard to believe, like you said it almost does feel like a dream.. Do you think we'll find our families?"

Bailey ~ Runner

Bailey could not quiet recall much about what happened after the runners had returned with the information on what they had been doing. Apparently Karter and the other runners had found the entrance to the maze, which had both terrified and excited her. Then Newt had told them all to start packing and preparing for their departure from the maze, which was what Bailey was doing at that stage as she was too nervous and confused to do much else. Her stomach growled and she glanced up towards where she assumed Caleb would be. She silently hoped that she wasn't talking to herself, squeezing her eyes such slightly. "Are you hungry?" she asked, not looking up as she closed her bag, for now, and sat down to take a break from packing. She buried her face in her small hands, sighing shakily. "Making if we get out of here for a bit I can ask Newt about everything to ease my heart a bit" she suggested to him, but also tried to reassure herself.

The backpack was sitting beside her in the hammock, filled with not much else except for clothes. Maybe I'm packing too early. Maybe I'm just being jittery she silently scolded herself, trying to turn her mind away from the stress for a bit. Anyways, the situation struck Bailey as being a bit strange.

He smiled, then kissed him again, just for a moment. "Now, get back to your dinner. We've got a long run tomorrow morning."

"Our families..." Uciel blanked out for a moment. In all honesty, he hadn’t even dared to think that far ahead. The question that lingered in his mind was, did they have families still? "I think...some of us will, for sure. There are too many of us to not," He finally pointed out after his long pause.

"I finished a while back," Karter noted. He leaned into the gentle contact, momentarily scolding himself silently for both accepting and enjoying it, but his face betrayed nothing but for the slight sparkle that had come to his eyes. "Oh trust me, I know we do. We'll get through it though."

Kit nodded, "Yeah, it's almost weird to think about, in a way. Just being in the 'real world' in general. Afterall, we have no idea what to expect." Kit's thoughts were racing, but overall she was quite optimistic about the whole thing.
