Kit was slightly taken aback by Harlow's sarcasticness, but tried not to let it bother her.

She shrugged lightly, "I guess its more to welcome them than anything, and of course to lift everyone's spirits. A new person equals new friendships, and, do not take this the wrong way, a new helping hand. It doesn't really matter if there's new mouths to feed, we have enough to provide for ourselves.
Everyone here is a lot more then just another mouth to feed-I'm sorry if that sounds cheesey," she said with a slight grin.

She felt weird that karter seemed a bit cheery for the celebration. She couldnt understand how everyone was all for it. She guessed partying just wasnt her thing. "yeah, no prob. I've gotta find caleb and bailey and tell them too." she rolled her eyes as she spoke about it.

She waved at kater as she turned and started jogging around the glade looking for the two love birds. 'Man they are difficult to find...who would've thought, with the glade really not being that big. Stupid...' she thinks as she jogged, she caught a glimpse of them off in the distance. "here we go I guess...." she said aloud to herself as she slowly made her way towards them

Karter held up a hand in farewell as Blaire went off. Bonfire that night. He hadn't met the newcomer yet, and made a mental note to do so at the Bonfire. He briefly glanced at Kane from the corner of his eye. No doubt Kane would be a little all over the place, and hopefully he wouldn’t bother the Greenie TOO much.

Olivia I Builder I Tags: Karter, KaneI, Blaire -> Chance | Location: Homestead

"Okay, thanks. No problem, we appreciate what you do, running out there and all that I mean." She looked at the girl who came in. Blaire was her name, at least she though so, she'd never talked to her, but she'd overheard other people talk to her, and she was good at remembering names. "Yeah, sounds fun" she said. She always enjoyed a good party. Everyone in a good mood,laughing the big bonfire. It was all so calming to her, and always made her feel good for the next few days. "I'll see you guys later." she called over her shoulder to Karter and Kane as she walked out the door behind Blaire.
She took another look around the Glade, scanning for Chance, when she spotted him near the other side of the homestead. 'Hey, Chance!" She called out as she approached him. "You were suppose to be helping me with the animal pens at the blood house, and before that fixing some of the wooden siding on the homestead." She said jerking her head at the building. "What have you been doing this whole time? I didn't see you for a long time before those." She crossed her arms and glared at him. Not expecting his answer to be anything good.

We appreciate what you do. For all their hard work, for all the energy, time and effort- and sometimes frustration- that went into the job of a Runner, very few people actually acknowledged it, Karter realized when Olivia had spoken. A small, weak smile came to his face, barely visible, and he nodded in acknowledgement to the words as she headed off. His relatively positive mood had been restored from the exhaustion Kane had caused him, and the prospect of a bonfire that night was rather uplifting!

Newt | Leader | Tagging: Minho, Open | Location: Glade


Newt and Minho returned from the Deadheads carrying the branches and sticks that would be the base of the bonfire, and quickly lay them in the proper positions. Minho then nodded to Newt and headed off to talk to the Cooks, see if they were prepared.

Newt could see a few Gladers who seemed excited enough about the prospect of the coming bonfire, which was good to see. Hopefully after some lighthearted fun tonight, spirits will be a bit higher, and with Minho's discovery, maybe there’s hope for a change.

The sun was finally setting, and once darkness touched the sky, they would light the bonfire and the celebration would officially begin. It would not be long now.

"A few hours, maybe?" Kit guessed. She glanced up, the sun was starting to set. "Do you want to head back to the center of the Glade where everyone else is now? Maybe meet some new people? Now that everyone's about done with their work, they should be a lot more friendly." At least they better be "Also, please don't take anybody's rudeness personally. There are a couple slintheads here who like to cause trouble, especially with greenies." she rolled her eyes.

Bailey II Runner

Bailey offered a small sideways smile towards Caleb as they walked further into the glade. He was the only person she talked to on a regular basis, and although she was friends with all the others, it seemed like Caleb was the only person she had gotten close too. She shrugged, smiling to herself. Having someone she was close to made things a whole lot easier, and subsided the common stress that everyone felt at the moment. Of course she was lucky.

"Yeah. It would be nice if everyone had the same mindset of chilling out. Sometimes I feel like some people can be spiteful and what not. I just think that people should keep to themselves sometimes and not take their stress out against those who don't do anything wrong" she pointed out her own thoughts. "I don't know, maybe it's silly. I could certainly argue, but I'd never raise my hand" she added, her eyes drifting to the ground.

"I would never leave you behind Caleb. Believe it or not, do you not know just how important that you are to be. As a matter of fact, I hold you very highly above others" she grinned, but grew slightly sad. Taking from the look on Caleb's face, he was thinking the same thing. "I hope we never end up inside the maze overnight" she commented, hope glistening in her eyes.

Bailey noticed that Blaire was swiftly making her way towards Bailey and Caleb. Subconsciously, the changed her speed to catch up with Caleb. "I'll see you later" she called to him, waiting a moment until Blaire caught up to them in case she had to say something to the both of them.

Noah I Slopper I Tags: Newt, Minho | Location: Glade

Noah came from Deadheads a minute after Newt and Minho did. As a Slopper he did all the little gopher jobs. He didn't do well at any of the other jobs, so this is what he was stuck with. But he honestly didn't mind. Sense he didn't have one single job around a bunch of the others he could sneak off without being noticed or missed. He would usually go into the forest and climb around, climbing as high as he could and watch everyone else while he relaxed and thought. Some times he would even go to the homestead and set up a prank for one of the Gladers in a higher rank. One of the few rules in the Glade was Never harm another glader so he never did anything with to much pain. Small simple annoying things like putting a bunch of small rocks in a sleeping bag, setting a large rock in front of a door so it couldn't open well, putting a bunch of objects high up somewhere balanced against a door just right so if someone opened it the wrong way it would come crashing down on them. Of course he had been caught and punished in some way. He was now known as a nuisance around the Glade. like Chuck, most didn't talk to him and when they did they kept it short. He still didn't mind though. He sometimes wished to be liked by the others. But it didn't seem like it would change even if he stopped all the pranks now. Everyone said he talked to much and was very immature. Maybe it was true, he wasn't sure. But he didn't feel like going to the trouble for how many months just to get a few slintheads approval.
He dumped his heavy pile of sticks all the pile and looked up at Newt and Minho. "There should be some fun times tonight ay?"

Newt turned at the sound of the Slopper's voice and gave him a slight nod. "Fun times tonight? I should hope so! That’s what this whole bonfire thing's about, after all," he pointed out. "Everything's set, I think. Minho went off to check in with Frypan regarding food, but he should be back any minute."
