He felt the smile leave his face as he put the book down.
"They.. They left me here because they didn't want me anymore" He replied grimly.
He hesitated when he spoke again,
"They didn't like me. They hit me, blamed me for things I couldn't be capable of. They screamed at me when they ran out of things to blame me for" He bit his lip before he could say anymore.
His eyes began to water, but he ran his sleeve across his eyes and looked down at the stuffed animal.

Douglas paused, his own smile faded. He didn't know what happened next, but he felt his arms wrap softly around the kid's torso. Not knowing what else to do, he cooed "Shhhh, Rain, relax. It's not your fault any of this happened.". Why did he feel this way? Did it remind him of his own life?...

Maybe it actually did. He remembered as a child how violent he acted towards bullies, and on several occasions hurting them. He remembered that few times he did it to protect someone, but most of the time it was to protect himself. Douglas thought about why he killed kids now, but it seemed he didn't have an answer.

He felt surprised, confused, sad, happy.
What did he feel?
He wiped the tears that managed to escape his eyes with his sleeve and smiled.
"Thank you.." he said.
He had never really been acknowledged by anyone, or anything for that matter, so this was a nice change.
He grabbed the stuffed animal and hugged it once more, before continuing on his book.

Douglas let go of Rain and allowed him to continue reading his book. He smiled to himself as he read the book over Rain's shoulder, suddenly invested in the story. This felt new but welcoming, warm, and joyous. Maybe he could keep feeling like this if he tried hard enough...

The clock chimes; it is now 8 o'clock.
A janitor unlocks the doors of the pizzeria, allowing the customers to come in when they pleased.
The place is now open.

Samuel rushed into the pizzeria, trying to avoid the small croud of people coming in.

Ugh why is there some many people, it opened like 5 minutes ago?

He went to the office, knocked on the door, and waited to start his new job.

Douglas got up immediately when his walkie-talkie began to go off. Listening to the person on the other hand jabber, he sighed as he looked down at Rain. "Be right back," He told him as he ran off. Douglas ran all the way into the office space, pushing quickly past a man at the door. Swerving into his seat, he huffed as he said "Okay, okay, I'm here. We can start!".

Samuel stared at the white eyed man in front of him, and he became overwhelmed with awkwardness

Douglas paused, looking up at Samuel and staring him dead in the eyes. "It isn't night, so..." He looked around for the clipboard he had before cleaning Foxy. "Ah! You can clean some of the old suits.". Douglas was already busy with cleaning the starring robots, so the old ones needed to get cleaned.
