Chūya Nakahara

male l 22 l Bungo Stray Dogs l ability-For The Tainted Sorrow l tagged-Natsuki

The young copper haired man gave the girl a look as if asking if she was seriously asking such a question. He had no idea what her plans were, nor did he particularly care, but he thought the choice was obvious. Like this place they'd been dragged to and dumped could ever be brought back to a thriving civilization...or any form of civilization at that. On top of that Chūya had a life and a home as it was. Plus, even if he didn't, this X guy wasn't the one he swore his life to or his annoying ex-partner he still frustratingly trusted after four years of him disappearing. X had no right to give him orders and the ability user had no reason to feel obligated to follow them. "I already said I'm not staying in this hole any longer then I have too right? If there is a safe place I'm going to find it. If not....I'll find another way to get the hell out of here.", said Chūya turning to leave continuing on his way looking for a way out of the ruined city, "I already have a city and organization that need and count on me. I'm going home."

Eddie Brock — Venom

Male | Venom/Marvel | Symbiote | Tagged: Joker

Eddie looked down at himself in embarrassment. Yeah, he wasn't exactly dressed for TV right now. So sue him; they were having a lazy stay-cation when they got kidnapped. At least he was wearing outdoor clothes instead of pajamas, "Hey, I'm on vacation! Well, I was..." He replied good-naturedly.

We think Eddie looks good. V piped up. Thanks babe. Eddie replied. He couldn't help but ignore V's opinion, though. He spent two hours explaining the purpose of clothing and fashion to the alien after the Life Foundation incident, and V still didn't quite understand the whole concept.

Joker answered their next question in a roundabout way. Eddie's reporter instincts perked up, "So, like an anti-hero?" What is an anti-hero? Are we one? V asked, distracting him yet again. Not now, V. But yeah, people could call us that. Anti-heroes do bad things for good reasons.

Joker responded again. Eddie snapped to attention, smirking. The comparison of Joker's real identity and Eddie sounded really similar, but then a sound came from behind Joker. The teen's face switched to a serious look Eddie had seen on the face of every soldier and vigilante he had ever met. The teen took out his pistol and suddenly V took control of their body.

V what are you doing!? Eddie shouted in their mind. V didn't respond, but Eddie felt their mouth move. Their voice came out more deep than his own, but not nearly as inhuman as V's own voice, "Don't worry pet," Pet!? V you can't take a person as a pet! "Eddie is useless, but we are strong. We will kill the threat."

Eddie groaned as loud as possible in their mind to annoy V, but he didn't fight the control. He could and they would let him win if he was truly upset about it, but V was the one that knew how to fight so it made more sense for them to take control right now. The only other option was to become Venom, but then they would definitely terrify Joker. If V hasn't already scared him off with the whole "pet" thing. V still had a lot to learn about humanity and society at large, and Eddie was seriously regretting not teaching them more.

      Ren Amamiya!!
xxxxmale seventeen years old persona 5 tagged: eddie / venom
      ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

Ren should have expected the term anti-hero to come up when describing him, but it caught him a bit off guard nonetheless. He couldn't say if such a thing truly fit what he did. Were some of things he did actually bad? It was hard to say. Besides, he always was trying to make society a better place by reforming it in the ways he knew he could. In his mind anti-heroes were more selfish and acted more for themselves than for others. While it was his decision to take up the role and it had come to targeting the one that had wronged him in life, he still never had sought to end up in such a position. It was simply how the cards had fallen and it just so happened that the same man that had framed him as a delinquent months ago was the one corrupting Japan the most. While it might have been seen as revenge, nobody beyond his teammates knew that Shido was the one that had dragged him down to the position he had found himself in. Still he didn't see himself as an anti-hero either. Truly it was hard to say exactly what he was given how odd his work was. As much as he would have liked to shoot down the idea of him being such, he knew he had other things to focus on at the moment. With some creature nearby, there was no reason for him to argue against being an anti-hero. He had to focus on the threat at hand like he always did. If given the chance he would return to the subject later and clear it up although he doubted it held much importance in their current situation. Remaining silent for a moment longer, a shiver was sent down the teen's spine as he heard V speak up. His eyes immediately moved to the other and narrowed ever so slightly. The change in voice was enough to confirm that his gut feeling had been right about this other. It seemed more than a simple voice change too. The way he spoke now was different than before. Scuffing softly as he was addressed as "pet," Joker gave a small shake of his head. "I am not your pet," he muttered. "I belong to no one."

The tone of his voice yet again had taken a change. It was clear that he hadn't taken being called a pet all too well though he showed no signs of doing anything about it. However, that could not be said for Arsene. Despite not being called upon by the boy, the mask upon his head burst into blue flames and quickly faded from sight. Within seconds the persona took form behind the teen. Compared to Ren, Arsene was far bigger and loomed over the boy with his usual devious look upon his face and a fiery, blue aura around him. Thou should have heeded my warning, Arsene commented to the boy which only received him a look of annoyance. Art thou really going to be so hesitant to reveal thy's true self? Thou was the one that vowed to me, remember? Another lecture from Arsene. That was exactly what Ren had been hoping to avoid by not summoning him yet it seemed the persona had other things in mind. Arsene hadn't lectured him since the first time he had summoned him many months ago. Back then he had found himself in a dire situation; one of life or death for both him and Ryuji. Arsene had come to him and allowed him to vow to him in order to save the both of them. Yet here he was lecturing him again about holding back his true self. He supposed he did have a point. Still, he hated to admit it. He refused to let the persona have the pleasure of being right this time around. Brushing of the words Arsene spoke, the next part of what V had said finally registered in his head. It seemed almost as if a second personality had taken over. Was it possible that Eddie had a personality disorder of some sort? He was no doctor so there was no use in speculating. It seemed logical though. Lowering his pistol, Joker hesitantly averted his gaze from V for the moment and shifted it to Arsene. "Since you were so kind to disobey me, how about you scout the area for this beast, Arsene?"

I will heed your request for now, but thou should be wary, Arsene warned the teen before taking to the sky albeit not too far overhead. While he was still scouting the area, it was clear that the persona had no intentions of going too far away from his companion. Such was understandable. Still with Arsene not lingering right over him Joker knew he could confront the sudden change in Eddie without needing worry about the beast suddenly attacking out of nowhere. Once more, his attention turned to the older man and he raised a brow out of curiosity. "I've revealed my true power to you, so what is it that you do?" he asked. "You say you are stronger than Eddie, but I see nothing different about you. What makes you special in comparison? What makes you able to kill the threat while he cannot?" Maybe he was asking too many questions, but Ren wanted answers. He needed to know what exactly he was dealing with before things got ugly. If this was a simple change in personality then he knew he would have to still protect the man. There was no point in allowing someone who was defenseless to get injured in the process. However, if it was something else, then knowing such would be useful. Besides, it seemed that Arsene thought there was more too it than a simple personality disorder. The persona wouldn't have felt threatened by such a thing. That is what made it even more interesting to him. Whatever this other could do it was something Arsene saw as a threat and was enough for the persona to come out, despite not being called upon, in order to protect him.

(Just to note, Arsene can only be heard by Ren)

      Poppi!!
xxxxfemale unknown xenoblade chronicles 2 tagged: yang
      ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

A fake human? That was a strange thing to say. She wasn't even based on a human though. Sure blades could sometimes look like humans but they were not by any means the same. Blades came in all different shapes and sizes and wielded many different weapons and had many different personalities. That was what she was based on. Blades only came into existence when a driver was present and when their driver died, they would return to their core crystal. That was yet another major difference between the two. Besides, more than humans could wield blades. Any species was capable of bonding with a core crystal to summon a blade but not everyone was able of it. Most beings couldn't handle the the summoning process and ended up with the side effects that came with trying to summon a blade. That was why she existed though. If Tora had been able to bond with a core crystal, he would have had no need for her. In that way she was indeed a "fake blade." She did have her benefits though; many that other blades and even beings could not do on their own. That was what made her special. Pushing past that thought, Poppi found the next question an interesting one. She wasn't sure why it was important to ask if she was bulletproof or not, but she saw no reason not to answer it. "Poppi can withstand bullets and many other things that come in battles. Poppi is basically indestructible for the most part," she confirmed. There wasn't much that could damage her easily although enough wear and tear would do its number on her just like any other machine. But she had been designed with being in combat in mind. While he appearance may not directly hint that, Poppi was incredibly powerful although at times she held herself back in fear that she might overdo it or harm those she cared about. That was the greatest downside to being an artificial blade. The only one that seemed to know how she felt was Mythra which was only because she was the most powerful blade to exist.

Again her thoughts were trailing off onto useless topics. Poppi needed to focus herself. Returning her focus to the map in hand, the artificial blade took more more attempt to try and figure it out before she heard Yang request if she could see it. Had she not gotten one of her own? The only reason she had one was because it had been left with her letter. Maybe not everyone had received one though. That was a strange thought if that were true. She wouldn't understand why she of all people had been left one. While she was extremely useful in most situations, direction was not one of them nor had she ever learned how to read a map either. Usually Rex or Morag made those kinds of decisions and they never needed a map to begin with. Their decision making was all based on either gathered intel or simply reading their surroundings. That was yet another thing Poppi seemed to struggle with at times. Shaking that thought off, she gave a small nod of her head and held the map out to Yang. "There isn't much on the map which makes it hard for Poppi to figure anything out."

yang nodded towards poppi. indestructible, huh? so if push came to shove, she would have no way of taking this thing out. great. yangs face looked frustrated as she thought of penny. she wished she were here... her hospitality was like no others; she was like a ray of sunshine in team rwbys life. though she would rather have blake with her, penny and ruby were close seconds, one being her sister of course. but yang too worried about overdoing it with her powers. when she got angry, she would often exhaust herself to the point where she couldnt fight anymore, which was no good, and yang knew she had a tendency to do this when angry.
"let me see," she finally responded, taking the map from poppi. yang studied the map which was almost blank except for a few specific locations. she wondered if they were supposed to go to these places and if they would meet others in the same situation as them? "i... cant figure this out either, really. but it seems like theyve left us with some key information." yang shifted to stand next to poppi. "see, there are points on this map with names, but i cant read them, theyre in some other language i think, or written badly. maybe we are supposed to go there," she suggested to the blade, looking at her with curious eyes.

Eddie BrockVenom

Male | Venom/Marvel | Symbiote | Tagged: Joker

From Joker’s admonishment, it was clear he did not take the “pet” comment well. Eddie groaned in their mind while V completely ignored it as a nonissue. They cared little for other’s opinions (minus Eddie, of course). But apparently something else took V's comment or perhaps their more obvious presence as a threat. Joker's hair seemed to catch fire for a second. Blue flames sprouted from the mask on his head and suddenly a red and black winged humanoid warped into existence behind him. V-as-Eddie jumped back and hissed, sharpening their host's teeth with by inserting their own. Even with Eddie's inferior nose, the thing reeked of power. Almost like magic, but not any magic V had ever encountered, but then again, this was from another universe. Eddie wrestled for control, urging V to not attack the first person they've seen in this clearly empty land. V held back, but just barely.

Joker dismissed the humanoid and it flew off, taking the blue flames with it. Both host and symbiote relaxed now that the possible threat was away. Joker addressed them, urging them to reveal their own power. They hesitated. He'll freak out. Eddie argued.
Hasn't yet. V argued, removing their teeth from Eddie's mouth.
Because he hasn't seen you yet. Or Us.
Pet has magic bird man summoned by a cheap theater prop. We aren't that weird.Eddie chuckled in their mind. V had a point, superheroes were weird all around.
Okay, let me take the reigns for a bit.

Eddie blinked as mentally connected to his body again, "Okay, we'll show you. We're uh...a little disturbing to look at, but we promise we won't hurt you as long as you and the other guy don't hurt us." Eddie took a deep breath and mentally reached out to V. The Klyntar did too as they joined in perfect symbiosis. V's flesh oozed out of Eddie's every pore and between his cells, then the threads of his clothes. It roped around him, covering his entire body in a shifting black mass of tendrils and fused into solid shapes. Eddie disappeared into the mass at three seconds. At five seconds the mass took shape and they became Venom.

They towered over Joker now, easily two feet taller than the boy. Their thoughts bled into one consciousness as white eyespots and a toothy maw grew on Their face. Their senses expanded into ranges humans and lone Klyntar could never dream of: 360 sight with eyespots to focus, an expanded light spectrum, increased smell, touch, taste, and more. Venom let Their tongue out to taste the air, but then remembered how humans found them frightening and put it back in. They didn't want to further scare Their pet, or rather, the human that could be a friend.

And Venom understood why V saw Joker as a pet. Humans were small and weak, and this one was also an adorable anti-hero. Humans kept small, adorable, and weak animals as pets. In V's mind, this was the same. But Eddie understood the ramifications of claiming ownership of a human, and so Venom did too. It would be better and more accurate to call Joker a potential friend.

"Hello, Joker." Venom spoke, looking down at the teen with as nonthreatening a face as They could manage, which wasn't much better, "We are Venom. The symbiosis of Eddie and V. We are stronger than the sum of Our parts. We can kill the creature without a gun or magic, just Our claws and teeth. We will be less noisy than a gun..." They paused, considering eating the creature after. They decided They would. They needed a lot of meat, and irradiated meat wouldn't hurt Them, "and more environmentally friendly." They added, leaving it up for interpretation.

      natsuki oshiro
female | persona 3 oc | feeling; indifferent | tags; chuya

as the stranger started to walk away, natsuki found herself conflicted. on one hand, his rather direct answer and his plan to find the safe place sounded rather reckless. given the situation, charging right for the safe area didn't seem too smart, especially with the "monsters" potentially roaming around and the stranger looking rather defenseless. there was also the issue of if the safe area even existed. if that was the case, then whoever this guy was, he was heading right into a trap.
but on the other, the stranger didn't seem like the most pleasant person. despite his claim that an organization was waiting for him back in his world, he gave off somewhat of a loner vibe. in a weird sort of way, his attitude almost reminded natsuki of herself when she first joined SEES - preferring to be alone, a rather blunt, brisk attitude, it was almost nostalgic, remembering how she once acted.
but even if the stranger wanted to be alone (and against her better judgment), natsuki started to walk after him. acting alone in this world was bound to end badly, and like hell was she going to let it be on her conscious if this fool were to die. even if he wasn't the most likable person, it was better to stick together. maybe she could eventually get used to him, who knew?
"like it or not, i'm going with you. if you die, i don't want it on my conscious if i just let you go alone. and don't think anything is going to change my mind, got it?"

angela [3] thanatos [3]

Postby guar » Fri Feb 07, 2020 3:02 am

    𝙰𝙽𝙶𝙴𝙻𝙰 "𝙼𝙴𝚁𝙲𝚈" 𝚉𝙸𝙴𝙶𝙻𝙴𝚁
    ❛❛xxmercy im bereitschaftsdienst.xx❜❜
    ─────────────────────────────────────────
    overwatch xx·xx female xx·xx thirty-seven xx·xx tagged; genji
Angela hummed thoughtfully as she rose a hand and went to switch on the heads up display that often accompanied her Valkyrie suit. It would typically be used for when she was spended extended periods of time flying over the carnage that battles left; alerting her of any signs of life or movement so that she could live up to the title of being a swift-response medic. Despite initial doubts regarding her partnership with Overwatch and in particular donning the high-tech Valkyrie suit after the damage she witnessed in battles, she couldn’t deny how useful the suit really was in her aim to help other people. She really only made the Valkyrie suit to prove a point, to prove that she was able to apply her technology in such a way that it would be useful in battle; she hadn’t given the idea of becoming the famous guardian angel Mercy a thought until that title was placed on her. Her advanced technology did hold its perks, though, so she could tolerate the new role as Mercy as long as she was using her own suit and nobody tampered with it - well, nobody tampered with it more, that is, as the sniper Ana Amari had already claimed some of the nanobiotic technology to suit her own needs.

The heads up display offered her rather extensive information on the health and physical state of those around her, alerting her of any people that required immediate attention - while the entire suit all the way down to the biometric locks was impressive and provided a lot of help in the heat of battle, there was no denying that the headset and processing unit was the lifeblood of it all. Compared to the human body, it was essentially the nervous system that provided the field medic with the information that she needed while on the job. Despite its usefulness - the heads up in particular - it did occasionally become a mess that was difficult to read when in an area with several life signatures peppering the display, all of which being her responsibility in the heat of the battle. She never really did let that get to her, though, some would assume that everything would be too much for her to follow; all of the lives she had to look out for and the constant threat of the battle looming over her. The healer was always the priority target. Angela never let the buzz of battle get to her, though, tuning it out so that she could focus better on her job. She wasn’t a fighter that had to be concerned with the enemies position and tactics, she was the healer that had to ensure that her people were safe and healthy. If she was at risk, the maneuvering system of the Valkyrie suit would ensure her a quick and easy escape and the chance to retreat and regain any health lost.

Realising the mental detour she had taken, Angela blinked a few times to recollect her earlier thoughts, frowning when she realised that the heads up display appeared to be offline; it wasn’t even picking up the health signature of the cyborg directly in front of her. “Not good.” She quietly mused under her breath, it seemed like she was going to do things the old fashioned way of simply eyeballing the damage dealt to people. She was a skilled doctor, she was sure she could handle such a thing without much of a hassle. Besides, an abandoned city wouldn’t give off many life signatures anyway, so that wasn’t too concerning. “Perhaps there are still some natives that remain here.” Angela suggested, finally focusing on her companion once again, “The idea of rebuilding this place could be to help others then take our leave.” The alternative interpretation of the letter did seem shrouded in doubt; why would X inform them of a safe place to return home if the plan was for them to help people already here. Besides, there was also the fact that it was already made clear that this place was dying which implied any former civilisations that inhabited the city were long gone. For a moment, Angela contemplated using the Valkyrie’s handheld scanner module to check if it was still functioning but she was quick to dismiss that plan of action. She could test it when it was necessary, there was no use taking it out if it wasn’t needed yet.

We'll have to see that changed once we return back home. The playful tone was a relief to hear, reminding Angela to not focus on the negatives of the situation like she was so used to doing - critically analysing things was far easier than digging through for the positives, after all. She allowed a soft laugh to escape her at the subtle flirt from Genji, pushing a lock of hair out of her face then allowing her hand to drop down by her side once more. Despite being pleased to see that her companion had also held onto the map that was provided, she had to admit that he was correct about the map being rather useless when it came to trying to make any plans. Besides, neither of them had any access to a compass of sorts and considering the fact this was supposedly an entirely different world, she doubted that resorting to tactics involving tracking the sun would be of much use - it was gloomy and overcast so regardless of whether the same rules applied, tracking the sun would prove to be difficult. Instead of lingering on the near uselessness of the map, Angela looked around at their surroundings, finding herself studying some of the taller buildings with the hope of gauging how stable the structures were. “If we get up higher, finding any landmarks or signs of where to go would be easier.” She suggested, turning to face the cyborg again, “Although these buildings look ready to collapse at any minute.”

hades xx·xx male xx·xx death incarnate xx·xx tagged; death
A light chuckle escaped the chthonic deity at the quiet scolding of the skeletal horse. Although Thanatos lacked many interactions with animals of any kind other than perhaps Cerberus when he visited the House of Hades, he could appreciate the struggle of having them behave. The aforementioned massive three-headed beast was a perfect example of a rather difficult to control animal; although charged with guarding the gates of the Underworld to prevent the dead from escaping, he was apparently easily swayed by the promise of a treat, most times a Satyr Sack. That foul-smelling item was enough to even make the incarnate of death’s stomach churn. While he worked with the dead, Thanatos wasn’t completely unfazed by unpleasant things even with his old age. He would never understand how the fearsome beast could stomach a Satyr Sack, let alone enjoy it. It was just one example of how his reputation was grossly exaggerated, though, making him seem more aggressive than he truly was. Yes, the massive beast did ruthlessly feed on no short supply of interlopers to the Underworld and had rather violently disposed of those attempting to escape. But it was easy to notice that nowadays in his old age, his temperament has grown much more relaxed and Thanatos noticed he spent a lot of time in the House of Hades beside Lord Hades himself.

The answer to the rhetorical question puzzled the bringer of death, he had to admit, only expecting an answer to his inquiry about the origin of the stranger, not the comment on his being Greek. Thanatos wouldn’t complain about an answer, though, as it would offer him more information on the other scythe-wielding being before him, although the response he gained did not hold the information he had hoped to receive. Not entirely? The vague answer irritated him, admittedly, but he didn’t make that annoyance known. Even from such a brief interaction it was already clear that whoever this person was, they weren’t entirely similar to Thanatos; the way that the two behaved differed greatly and the strict formality of Thanatos did not seem to be reflected in this newfound companion. Instead, this other man had quite a strong sense of naivety about him; it was almost childish in that way. Such behaviour was puzzling and unfamiliar to Thanatos; although he supposed it was somewhat reminiscent of the irresponsibility of his brother, Hypnos, even that comparison seemed rather farfetched. Hypnos was near intolerable, after all, while this man hadn’t managed to annoy Thanatos much just yet. There was always time for that to happen, though, so the death incarnate kept his mind open.

The introduction felt like it was long overdue but no amount of time would prepare Thanatos for the answer he received. So this man was some form of another iteration of himself? Or at least, of the concept of death, considering his name simply being Death. “That explains a lot.” Thanatos commented absentmindedly as he studied Death closer now that he learned of exactly who he was, as if more things about his appearance would make sense now that he revealed himself to be Death, although not much really held more significance other than the skeletal horse and the scythe that the man carried. Being faced with some form of other version of himself was a strange occurrence but he supposed to wasn’t the strangest thing he had ever experienced. “So you’re...me, then?” He questioned, just in case he hadn’t understood it properly, “That confirms that this place must be of some other dimension, then. I have never heard of another incarnate of death.” He commented thoughtfully, narrowing his eyes and raising a hand to his chin, “I assume your job would be the same as mine. Collecting souls?”

      Ren Amamiya!!
xxxxmale seventeen years old persona 5 tagged: eddie / venom
      ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

It was clear to Ren that Arsene's very presence had bothered the other which was no surprise. Those unfamiliar with personas usually were caught off guard the first time they made their appearance. He could still remember the look on Ryuji's face the first time he had summoned Arsene in front of him. It had been much to his own surprise too, but it was to a lesser degree than his friend had shown. The way V reacted though was not in a manner similar to what Ryuji had though. Instead he seemed to take a defensive position and looked as if he were ready to attack. It amused the boy. Maybe that would send a message about calling him a pet. Nevertheless, the tension seemed to die down after he had dismissed Arsene to the sky. Still, he could make out the fangs that were now present on his companion. How interesting. He certain had powers that he didn't wish to show yet. Hopefully that would change after his request. As silence overcame them, Ren allowed himself to take the moment to slide his pistol back into its holster before resting his hand on his hip. Such a stance caused him to push back his coat which was enough to show off the two weapons that rested there; both the knife and the gun. When Eddie finally spoke again, the thief quirked a brow in interest. It seemed that he was about to get his wish. At the words that were spoken, he couldn't help but let a chuckle escape his lips. He had seen plenty of disturbing things while traversing the Metaverse. Many of the shadows and even some of the personas he wielded had odd appearances, but he never let that bother him. It was something that had become quite normal for him although Eddie wouldn't have known that. It was probably for the better that he didn't. Trying to explain exactly what the Metaverse was to someone who hadn't experienced it was one of the most difficult things to do. He recalled when he had tried to do such with Sae. While she had been able to understand enough of it, it hadn't been the greatest description though he supposed it did not help that he had been in a rather bad state of mind during that time given that the effects of his sedation had still been lingering.

"I've seen plenty of things that I wouldn't call appealing to the eye," the boy commented. The second part of what they said didn't bother him much either. Even if they had tried to attack him, he still had Arsene to come to his aid and the persona wouldn't back down from a fight especially if Ren was in danger because of it. Besides, it sounded as if Eddie was worried that his companion was the problem, not him. "You don't have to worry about Arsene. He won't harm you unless I tell him to." It was a simple statement, but it was true. Arsene had yet to attack without being told to. Even if he represented his rebellious side, Arsene himself was not one to rebel against him. That was thanks to the bond the two of them shared though. No matter the other personas he used, Ren always came back to his first and relied on him when things needed to be done. Before he could remissness too much, the phantom thief noticed Eddie changing before his eyes. In a way it reminded him of how shadows came to reveal their true forms after he unmasked them though it was clear that this man before him was not a shadow in the slightest. As the transformation completed, Joker cast his gaze upwards at the strange looking creature before him. A normal person probably would have moved back in fear or even taken off running even after being told the other had no intentions of harming them, but the thief stood poised and calm. Even when the tongue slipped out, albeit for only a few seconds, the boy seemed unfazed. There were so many things about Venom's appearance that screamed shadow to him that it almost felt nice to be reminded of the work he did back home. What a strange thing to think. The thought caused a soft chuckle to escape Joker's lips before he decided to speak, "So this is what I'm supposed to find disturbing? Honestly, I deal with things that look far worse whenever I have to work."

With a smug look upon his face, Ren waited for the other to speak. When that finally came, he listened and gave a small nod of his head at the introduction. So there were two of them although it still wasn't clear if it was two personalities or not. Not that it mattered. As Venom continued on though, the teen's face wrinkled in confusion specifically at the mention of magic. Did they believe Arsene was some form of magic? That was such an odd thought. Sure, it was difficult to explain what exactly Arsene was, but he knew it was no form of magic. "Magic?" he questioned. "If you think Arsene is some form of magic, you are mistaken." There was another thing that bothered him about the words that had been spoken. While he did not mind the remark on the gun, it almost sounded as if Venom was implying that he would not be capable of killing the creature without the use of Arsene or his gun. As much as he wished to comment that he was skilled with a knife as well, he figured he would have to mention that sneak attacks were a specialty of his in the process and possibility hint that he was a thief and that was not the path he wished to go down. "If noise is the problem though, I can fight without my pistol. I do not plan on sitting back simply because you say you can handle it on your own." That was a point he was going to make sure was made clear. Joker was used to working within a team which meant he never let the burden of battle fall upon a single member no matter how strong they were. Before he could continue on, a gust of wind overhead caught his attention as Arsene returned. Landing behind Joker, the persona's gaze warily moved to Venom. So I was right, the persona remarked which caused Joker to grunt in disapproval. Thou should not be so disgruntled. I bring news. The beast thou seeks is hidden in the debris of the building before thou. I suggest proceeding with caution for it is a large one.

Giving a small nod at Arsene's words, Ren pulled the knife from its place and moved his gaze to the ruined building that Arsene had pointed out. "Arsene tells me the creatures hides in the ruins of that building," the boy began as a plan became running through his mind. "You say you can take it down so I will act as a decoy." Looking at his persona, the thief pointed towards his face and within seconds the large being disappeared from behind him and the blue flames formed on his face, creating his mask once again. If he needed Arsene's help, he was one call away, but for now he planned on taking the workload for himself. Without another word, Joker was quick to make his next move. Shooting the grappling hook that he kept hidden under his sleeve, the thief swung upward to a perch above the creature. For the first time, he could get a good look at what he was dealing with. The animal had feline-like features, but was much bigger than even the lion-like shadows he had previously seen in the Metaverse. That was no problem. After a few seconds, the creature seemed to catch his scent and turned its head up towards him. Smirking, Ren twirled the knife in his hand before taking a defensive stance. "Here kitty kitty," he taunted. With the feline focusing on him, he hoped that would create an easy opening for Venom to attack.

      Genji Shimada!!

It didn't take long for Genji to noticed how quiet Angela was being in the moment as he focused on his map. Looking up at her, he noticed her testing her suit to see if it was functioning properly. That was enough for him not to become overly worried by her silence. If she needed a moment to make sure all her systems were up and running then so be it. He luckily didn't need to do the same given that if there was a problem with his own gear, he would have known instantly given that it would have hindered him in some manner. Hopefully there weren't be any problems with his cybernetic body while they were trapped here. While he was sure that he and Angela could solve any issues he might have, he knew such a thing would only hinder their progress. He knew he could not guarantee everything would go smoothly though. While he may be functioning now, it was possible that whatever awaited them in this place could easily change that. Even so he knew he had to keep a positive outlook on things and keep his mind clear of any worry that things would go wrong. If something did happen and they could not fix it, he would have to deal with it and continue to protect Angela the best he could. Finding resolve in those thoughts, the cyborg cast his gaze away from the medic and quietly began to scan the area to ensure that nobody was watching them in the current moment. Taking a defensive stance, Genji's hand grasped onto the handle of his wakizashi in case he needed to pull it out. This only lasted for a moment though. Mercy's voice was enough to cause him to ease up and his attention immediately was drawn back to her. Her words made him wonder if she had picked up on some other health signature. It was possible though he figured if that was the case then she would have mentioned it rather than suggesting there might be natives that they needed to help before taking their leave. She did have a point. Such a thing would make sense in the context of what the letter had said. Why else would this X tell them there was a safe place where they could return home? Did they think that they wouldn't search for it?

"There could be natives that are in need of help," Genji agreed before pausing for a moment to think of where he was going to take his statement. "It would make sense given what the letter was said, but if that were the case then why would someone like X use his power to bring us here rather than directly helping them? Surely someone who can pull someone from another universe could easily aid their people in such a time of need." All the information they had seemed to lead him to believe that X had far more power than the likes of himself or even Angela had yet they had chosen to take this route. It made him wonder if X was taking enjoyment in throwing them in this world. For all the knew, they could have been the one that had brought ruin to this land and was seeking to toy with them for their own amusement. It was a thought that Genji found difficult to disprove, but also one that was just as difficult to prove true. Could they even take X's word as the truth? Sure, they had been honest about the state of the world itself, but with the lack of real information provided it made the cyborg wonder what really was the truth. It was entirely possible that the safe place X spoke of wasn't even real. Such thoughts caused him to feel conflicted. Frowning slightly, Genji let a soft sigh escape his lips. "I think we should be wary to believe everything the letter told us. If X really wanted us to help, I feel they would have given us more information and offered a better map than the one we got." Until they could prove or disprove what they had been told, being wary was the best option. As much as he hated to doubt the only information they had to go on, he was sure Angela would see the logic in his suggestion. Even with what he had said their goal did not change; they were going to search for this safe place and along the way they could do whatever help was needed. It was as simple as that.

The sound of Angela's soft chuckle was what drew him out of his thoughts on his previous statement and a soft smile returned to his face. He was glad that she had taken his flirting light heartedly. It seemed she had no comment on it though, much to his dismay. He supposed he shouldn't hope for such things at a time like this. Instead he focused in on what she suggested next. It was true that getting to higher ground would provide them a better view of their surroundings and possibly give them a hint as to which direction it was they needed to go. Such a task was easy for the likes him and he had no worries that Angela could keep up with him. The only problem was the state of the buildings. He doubted his weight would cause any of the structures to collapse under him, but it was better to be safe than sorry. The last thing he needed was to end up buried in a pile of rubble and need Mercy to dig him out and then heal him. "Even in the condition these buildings are in, we still should try to reach higher ground," Genji mused as he began searching for the highest point he could find. It wasn't too hard to find. From the looks of it, the building appeared to be an old watch tower though it had certainly seen better days. Half the roof had fallen in along with part of the tower itself. Still it looked as if the side that was still intact appeared to be sound enough to stand on. Looks could be deceiving though. Gesturing towards the tower, Genji looked towards Angela before speaking, "We could look from up there. I should have no problems climbing it as long as you think you can fly up to me once I'm there."

      Poppi!!

      ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

Poppi could see the frustration on Yang's face before she took the map from her and it left her confused. Had she done something wrong? Perhaps it was because she had said she was essentially indestructible. It was entirely possible the kind act the other was showing her was a ploy in attempt to try and destroy her. If that were the case then why would she have asked about being bulletproof? She didn't see any gun-like weapon on the girl and usually those kinds of things were difficult to hide unless her world's weaponry was very different than her own. That was yet another possibility. It was hard to predict these kinds of things. If the goal really was to try and destroy her in the end though, Poppi wasn't sure what reason she might have given for such an action to be necessary. Such a thought made her sad. She had never done well with others disliking her or things of the like so this seemed to fall into that category. She couldn't let that bother her right now though. If push came to shove and things did turn sour, she could always use her strengths to help her escape the situation without causing too many problems. For now she would have to take things are being alright and nothing else. Showing any kind of fear might be exactly what Yang wanted from her. Doing her best to push the thought out of her mind, the artificial blade watched as the girl took the map from her and began trying to read it. It seemed that she was having the same problem that she had. Clearly the map wasn't readable like it should have been. That was problematic. How were they supposed to traverse this place if they could not use the only thing that had been left for them. It seemed like a poorly organized situation. Then again the situation they had been dealing with back home wasn't very organized either. She was used to these kinds of things but she was also used to travelling in a much bigger group with a lot more fire power.

"Poppi is not sure if map is written in another language," she stated. If that were the case then why had the letter been written for the to understand. That didn't make much sense to her. If anything she felt that the map had been quickly made in order to be easy to distribute to those that had been dragged here or at least that was what she thought. "But Poppi thinks the map can help pick a way to go." That was about all that it could be used for. Trying to figure out which way was which would be the fun part. Looking around it she wasn't sure how they would be able to tell direction, but there might be some kind of sign or landmark that would give it away. "Do you have a suggestion on which way we should go?"

Chūya Nakahara

male l 22 l Bungo Stray Dogs l ability-For The Tainted Sorrow l tagged-Natsuki

And that was exactly the opposite of what he had wanted to hear. The last thing the ability user needed right now was some hot headed young girl he just met tagging along. To begin with he still wasn't all that sure about her. Second, even if he didn't want to, Chūya knew he'd be protecting the young blonde from whatever dangers poped up on the way to the safe zone. Not to mention there was the fact he had no intention of bringing a souvenir of any sort home with him. What would the boss and Ane-san think if he suddenly showed up at Port Mafia headquarters out of the blue after being gone who knew how long with a moody teenager? The Gifted could already hear both of their assumptions and reactions to such a unexpected guest after his unexplained abstance. And the young man didn't like any of those ideas. Jeez was he going to need a good wine after this little adventure of his! "I don't need an apprentice kid, so don't think for one second I won't leave you behind if you fall behind. Better not weigh me down.", said Chūya reluctantly resigning to having a new traveling companion at least for a time, "If you do, or you turn out to be a threat, I won't hesitate to deal with you just because you're a kid. Our little truce is only until we reach this safe zone. Once we get there you're no longer my problem and can go it alone from then on out." Looking around the ruined city before turning around to get walking again, "Come on and keep your eyes and ears open for any sign of enemies. No telling what we'll find on this dump of a planet."

yang narrowed her eyes. the blade seemed just as unsure as she was, which was no help. "well..." she started, stepping closer to poppi, but not close enough to touch her. "i knew my way around beacon flawlessly, so im sure i can navigate this place too! if we go one way, eventually we will have to find like... i dont know, a sign or something! that matches the writing on this map." yang smiled, her purple eyes glowing slightly as her happiness began to radiate around her. "sound good?"
yang took the map and folded it back up, slipping her backpack off her shoulders and shoving it inside. "i will just keep this in here..." she then slung the backpack over her shoulder and looked towards poppi. "so, blade girl, which way shall we go?"
