      Poppi!!
xxxxfemale unknown xenoblade chronicles 2 tagged: open
      ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

Life had been a real adventure ever since the day she had been created. For the while that she had been alive it had been nothing but travel and battling. That was no problem for the artificial blade. She had been built to act as a blade and what a blade did was fight alongside their driver and follow them no matter where they might go. Poppi was more than grateful to have Tora for a driver despite the oddities the Nopon had. He was her masterpon and nothing would change that. The rest of their party was a pleasure to be around as well and she felt that she had much to learn from each and every single member of the small team they had formed. From Morag to Pyra to Dromarch, Poppi knew that each of them could help her grow in her role and make her stronger so that she could continue to protect Tora as they continued on. Growing did scare her though. Part of her feared that the stronger she became, the more dangerous she would become and the greater chance she would have of destroying or hurting those she cared deeply for. It was a reason that she preferred to stay in her originally form rather than relying on the other two she had despite Tora preferring to use her more powerful ones in battle. That was fine with her though she would continue to travel as the one she was most comfortable in. He seemed to understand that much and the others never questioned it either. For the most part they seemed to enjoy the company of her childish form and she was glad for that. But for the situation she found herself in now she wondered if this form was the best idea. It had been moments since she had powered up in this strange place and found the letter and map that had been left for her. She had tucked the map away before reading the letter and what she had discerned from the letter was concerning. Being a child, she didn't fully grasp the entire issue, but she understood it enough to know that she was in a troublesome position. She knew she was more than capable of fighting without her driver, but it would be strange to do such a thing. If she was being honest though she wasn't concerned much for her own safety, but rather for Tora's. She could only imagine what might happen to him without her around. He would probably be in a panic the moment he realized she was gone and she didn't blame him. She was his invention and something he had worked his life to creating. To have that taken away would be heartbreaking. That was why she had to return to him. As much as she would love to try and help rebuild this land, she knew she had more important ordeals back home.

Rising to her feet, Poppi glanced over her shoulder towards the window on the other side of the room. She could see the outside world from it and it was more than concerning. It made her wonder what the beings of this world had done to cause such damage. In a way it reminded her of the Land of Morytha. The ancient civilization had destroyed itself by becoming too technologically advanced so maybe that was what had happened in this place too, but it was lucky to have no sunk beneath a cloud sea like the Morytha had. Still the land looked no better than the ruins she had seen while stuck beneath the cloud sea. Looking away, the artificial blade moved towards the exit, but stopped before moving out so she could collect her drill shield from its place against the wall. It was good that she hadn't been separated from her weapon although that meant Tora was without it. Then again he wouldn't have been able to power it without her present anyways unless he managed to convinced his father to let him use Rosa to power it. She wondered if such a thing would even be possible. Pushing the thought off, she gave a small shake of her head before attached the shield to her back and making sure it was secure before moving out. Wandering through the building she had awoken in, Poppi quietly observed her surroundings and made note that the buildings of this place felt quite different than the ones that she was used to back home. Everything about this place gave off a different kind of vibe yet in some manner felt oddly familiar to her. She didn't question how that was possible. She simply accepted it. Finally finding the exit, she pushed open the door and stepped out into the world that awaited her. Glancing up, she could see the sun peaking through the cloudy sky overhead. Despite it's presence the world still felt heavy and dark to her. It made her quite uneasy. That was no surprise given that she was programmed to be rather young in the first place. Any being that was her age would easily be worried when thrown into a situation like this. It was lucky for her that she was somewhat used to things like this as odd as it seemed.

Stepping out farther from the building, Poppi's gaze was immediately drawn to movement down the street. It took her a moment to register exactly what she was seeing, but her eyes were not playing tricks on her. There was someone moving up ahead. From a distance it was hard to tell exactly what they were, but there was only one way to find out. Rushing in to search would be a reckless action so she needed to proceed with caution if she wanted to assure her safety. Moving as quietly as she could, the artificial blade trucked down the empty road in hopes that what she had spotted was some other form of life. To her dismay though as she approached the area she was greeted by nothing but debris that had been moving in the wind. Letting a sigh escape her mouth, Poppi gave a shake of her head. "Poppi is disappointed," she muttered as a frown crossed her face. She had gotten her hopes too high. That was her biggest mistake. It was entirely possible that she was stuck in this place all alone and that nobody but the monsters the letter had mentioned would be around. That thought worried her. Sure, monsters didn't scare her after all the things she had faced back home in Alrest, but facing them alone without her driver and the others would definitely be difficult. There was always a greater chance of winning when others were around. "Poppi cannot get down. It not the end of the world." With those words of assurance, she was filled with renewed ambition and spirit. Even if this had been a minor setback, she was going to keep herself positive and push forward. Nodding her head at those thoughts, Poppi once again began moving along the empty street in search of some sign of possible life.

    overwatch xx·xx female xx·xx thirty-seven xx·xx tagged; genji
Angela had been struggling to sleep well for quite some time now, she had been suffering from many sleepless nights during her stay in Cairo. She was of course used to the restless lifestyle of a doctor in a considerably busy aid camp but that didn’t mean the effort didn’t weigh down on her. While she never searched for gratitude from the people that she had a hand in the cause of their suffering it was still hard to hear the harsh words spat in her direction from those less forgiving than others. Aggression towards former Overwatch agents was to be expected and she did prepare herself for it when her previous occupation became known; despite her efforts to help those who suffered in the wake of Overwatch, she still found it difficult to be reminded of the consequences. The apartment she was staying in wasn’t particularly homely, either, only possessing the bare essentials without much of a focus on comfort but she couldn’t really complain about having a bed she rarely used - most of the time she found herself falling asleep hunched over her desk. Such a bad habit would do terrible things to her posture but in those drowsy moments she didn’t seem to consider the consequences. No matter how comfortable her usual sleeping situation was, it certainly wasn’t as bad as what she had woken up in. She found herself awkwardly twisted when she woke up on what she assumed was once a couch; the pillows had been torn apart and it felt like any stuffing they once had were long gone, not to mention the heavy layer of dust covering Angela’s surroundings, causing her to cough a few times and bring a hand to cover her mouth. Blinking a couple of times, she took a few seconds before her eyes properly adjusted to the scene before her. Pushing herself up with an arm so that she was in a seated position, Angela squinted at the light coming through a nearby window, the glass had been shattered and the curtain pole was crooked and barely holding onto tattered pieces of fabric that looked like pathetic excuses for curtains. Heart beginning to race, the field medic raised a fist to her chest and allowed her eyes some more time to dart about her surroundings and scan for anything that looked remotely familiar but to no avail. After taking a few moments to look around from her position, Angela rose to her feet and brushed herself down to get rid of some dust that had settled about her mumbling softly about the unsuitable living conditions. In fact, it barely looked like anything had lived in the room at all for several years. Perhaps it had even been decades? It looked like she was in some kind of living room connected to a kitchen which definitely had not been used in a long, long time; the heavy coats of dust that were settled over all of the counters had given that away. It was incredibly dreary looking which considerably affected Angela’s mood which was already quite bad. She couldn’t recall falling asleep in her Valkyrie suit but she supposed that was not the strangest thing that had occured - she couldn’t remember falling asleep in an abandoned kitchen, after all, yet here she was.

As she rose to her feet to move around the unfamiliar surroundings, Angela realised one of the causes for her discomfort when waking up, having glanced over her shoulder to see one of the wings of the Valkyrie suit bent rather awkwardly from where she had been laying on it, but it was nothing to serious that she couldn’t fix. Awkwardly twisting and moving one of her arms behind her back, she managed to grab the base of the wing appendage that had bent, fiddling for a few minutes before it popped back into its place and corrected itself. To ensure there wasn’t any more damage to the wings of her suit, Angela extended the wings for a short time, the golden feather details shining brightly when first appearing before the wings relaxed and retracted once again. Good. No permanent damage taken. Turning around, Angela grimaced at the state of the couch she had woken up on but her expression shifted to a curious one when she noticed both her Caduceus staff and blaster nearby, the staff being propped up against the side of the couch while the blaster was on the remaining half of a side table. Taking the blaster first, she put it away in its usual place then took her staff, gripping it with a soft exhale at the familiarity of the weapon. Although nowadays she took the role of Mercy with some distaste due to the reminders it held, she couldn’t lie that the feeling of the advanced medical equipment in her hands was a comforting one.

Glancing towards the window in the room, Angela walked over to it and moved tattered fabric aside, frowning when she was met with the absolute state of the outside world. It was in complete shambles, few buildings looked intact enough to safely live in, multiple walls had fallen apart and revealed the insides of the buildings, debris gathering up in piles at the base of the buildings. These were the kinds of sights she had grown accustomed to during her time travelling and helping the countries most impacted by wars and omnics but the circumstances this place found itself in was far worse. Angela had seen several sights of tragedy in her life, she had been in the midst of fights and saw the damage being dealt in real time rather than just passing photographs but it never failed to scare her when she saw it again. Too many memories were associated with the demolition of civilisation. Stepping away from the window, wary of the apparent fragility of the building she was in and paranoid that the floor could cave in at any moment, she took her steps carefully with the soft clicks of her heels on the ground. Soon enough, two pieces of paper pinned to the wall caught her attention. Moving towards the paper, she tore it down, scanning over the map before turning her attention back towards the written letter, frowning as she looked through the contents of the note. Whoever this “x” person was, they had better be expecting some strong words from Angela if she found them. What made them think anybody would want to start a life in such a rundown place such as this? Even they accepted that it was an awful place to stay. The apparent cheerfulness despite delivering warnings was extremely bothersome, but she supposed there was nothing she could do about that. Having read over the note a few times to ensure she missed nothing important, the field medic placed the note on a table and folded up the map that accompanied it before moving towards a door. From the looks of it, she was on the third floor of the building she was in, and the stairs leading up did not look particularly promising. Deciding to save the exploring for later, Angela held the handrail while moving downstairs until she reached a point where the staircase had been absolutely obliterated by something; there was no way she would be able to climb down from where she stood, still on the second floor. Studying the hole in the flooring before her, she did notice how whatever used to be stairs was reduced to a pile of debris. If she navigated correctly and was careful of any obstacles that might appear in her way, she would be able to descend down the hole slowly and land on the pile and climb off it from there. Tightening her grip on her staff, Angela took a breath before stepping off the last stair before the gap, the wings of her suit flaring out as she drifted down slowly thanks to the angelic descent that the Valkyrie suit offered her.

Landing on the pile of staircase remains, Angela carefully stepped down and onto solid ground once more, hurriedly exiting through a large hole in a nearby wall to get out of the building, breathing a sigh of relief once she was outside and no longer in a structure that seemed like it would collapse at a gust of wind. Realising she was alone [something she wasn’t used to nowadays, there was always someone who needed her medical expertise, after all] and the letter had warned of there being monsters, Angela placed her staff on her back and instead took out her blaster, in case there was some form of a scuffle she got herself into. She wasn’t fond of violence but that didn’t mean she wasn’t able to protect herself. She disliked the eerie silence surrounding her, only being broken by general ambient sounds and the clicking of her heels as she walked through the deserted streets, glancing up at the buildings looming over her - although a majority of them were crumbling. It was only when she noticed a vaguely familiar figure in the distance that she allowed herself to relax slightly, a relieved smile coming to her face as she assumed the best of the unfortunate situation. At least she wasn’t going to be alone and, from the looks of it, there would be a familiar face also with her. Picking up her pace as she approached, she rose one hand, “Genji!” She greeted once she had gotten close enough to confirm her assumptions, “It is a relief to know I’m not alone here.” The medic continued, “Have you seen anyone else?” With her question, Angela glanced about their surroundings as if she expected to see another former agent come from one of the buildings.

hades xx·xx male xx·xx death incarnate xx·xx tagged; death
Thanatos had been cleaning up the messes of a majority of people found in the House of Hades, including messes caused by no other than his sisters and his Master’s rather...disruptful son. Although, he could understand the anger the fire-stepping prince harboured against the Lord of the Underworld, Hades himself - honestly, the incarnation of death was indifferent when it came to royal affairs; he simply did his job and got it over with even with the excessive work he was facing due to a war happening. He never liked having to enter the mortal realm outside of the Underworld, though. It was too bright, too chaotic, too spontaneous, quite a lot of his issues with it was shared with Hades but the other god had a fair reason to dislike the domain he had no control over. Thanatos could traverse freely while doing his job and, on occasion, he would encounter one of the Olympian gods or he would find himself riding with the boatman Charon. He never really got a break from his job, though. Some could say he was overworked; and he was sure his brother would have that opinion. Sometimes he wondered if Hypnos had ever done a single day's hard work in his existence. But then, he was the sleep incarnate. Maybe sleeping on the job was actually being productive? That being said, it was also his job to watch over the procession of newly-arrived shades coming before Hades, checking their names off of a list. While Hypnos was lacking in propriety, Thanatos did have to admit from what little he had seen of the House in recent days that his brother brought a certain cheer, however unconventional, into the grim proceedings of the House of Hades. It was still a wonder why the Master was so tolerant of this, though. It wasn’t Thanatos’ place to say, regardless of how he felt about his brother. Thanatos was there to do a job and it hardly affected him what Hypnos did or didn’t do; all Thanatos had to do was kill those whose time was due, it didn’t matter to him what happened to their souls afterwards. The fact that Thanatos rarely got a break was one factor in how he figured out quite quickly that he was somewhere he was not supposed to be. He couldn’t recall the last time he fell asleep, so the experience of waking up was a bizarre and unfamiliar one. Another tell tale that he was somewhere he wasn’t supposed to be was the brief gust of wind that disturbed him. Golden eyes opening wide suddenly, Thanatos remained still other than his hand pulling his hood back over his head as it had been disturbed by the wind prior. Hm.” Glancing at his surroundings with a disinterested expression, the god of death rose to his feet from where he was sitting upright on a stool. He wasn’t impressed with the change of scenery. He winced slightly as some light broke through a hole in the ceiling, the collapsed remains on a pile in the corner of the room. Whatever this place was, something bad had happened.

As he stood in the middle of the horribly destroyed room, Thanatos’ eyes caught the sight of his scythe carelessly lying on the ground beside a pile of what he assumed used to be a table which from the looks of it was reduced to splinters and chunks of wood. Tsch. Some people don’t respect weaponry like they used to.” He commented in a quiet grumble, picking up the scythe and running his hand across the intricate snath, closing his eyes as he tried to recall what led to the situation he found himself in. Perhaps it was some kind of practical joke performed by Hypnos? No matter how much he wanted to deny it, Thanatos wasn’t immune to the effect of his brother - he could make anybody fall asleep in the blink of an eye and he had done that before as a favour for Zagreus. Nobody would let Hypnos get away with such a thing though, would they? He wasn’t permitted to leave the Underworld unless he had a reason, after all, and Thanatos was sure that nobody would appreciate death being taken out of the question while there was an overhaul of souls entering the Underworld during the war between mortals. What did pique his interest about the whole situation, though, was the two sheets of paper loosely pinned to a nearby wall. “Don't know what I'm supposed to do with this.” He muttered as he scanned over the contents of the note left for him and presumably other people who were also placed here and forced to partake in a futile attempt to revive an entire world, it seemed. Thanatos wasn’t the type of person one would ask to rebuild anything, either, let alone start a life. He had a job to do and this interruption was certainly going to be a huge issue when he returned to the Underworld - no doubt that Hades would have his hide for being absent. For some reason, though, in this place Thanatos lacked any connection to Hell or, at least, he didn’t feel one. He felt detached from his home for some reason and as far as he knew that also left him with no way to get back. He couldn’t contact anybody, after all. “This just won’t do.” Thanatos complained, rolling his eyes and rubbing the side of his neck. Well. If he wanted to get back on track he had no choice but to entertain the foolish requests of this “x” character.

Unfamiliar with the layout of the room he found himself in [the architecture was considerably different to that of what he was used to both in Hell and the Overworld] it took Thanatos some attempts to locate the door or, at least, what he assumed was once a door. From what it looked like, he was already on the ground level of whatever building he had woken up in. Frowning thoughtfully, Thanatos stepped outside of the deteriorating structure and allowed his gaze to roam over the outside area. It hardly looked much better than the room he was in. Everything looked like it was falling apart and it would take a fool to not realise everything that was once alive had long since been dead. “How dismal.” He commented absentmindedly as he ventured further into the street and peered down both ways to see if there was anything of interest within a reasonable distance. It wasn’t something he saw that caught his attention, in fact, it was something he heard; a faint sound of hooves against the ground and, considering how empty and quiet the entire area was, sounds seemed to echo. Thanatos wasn’t fond of interaction with people he didn’t know, but he supposed he had no choice in the matter at this point. Turning, he gripped the snath of his scythe so that he could prepare to swing it if he was faced with a fight; his lack of connection with the Underworld was also considerably weakening his abilities so if it came to some form of conflict he would have to resort to getting his hands dirty. “Who goes there?” He made his presence known before nearing the source of noise. The sight he was met with was a curious one, to say the least. For one thing, a skeletal horse was strange to see even in his own line of work and the rider looked almost as lifeless as their mount. Narrowing his eyes, Thanatos slowed as he cautiously approached, “Another guest of X’s, I presume.”

The creature on the figure's shoulder ran at her which made her jump and lose most of her composure. Would it attack her? Her eyes narrowed and she aimed the laser at the animal before it stopped and got picked up by a taller boy with interesting hair. The sudden closeness made her blink and she quickly stowed away her umbrella before it went off unwittingly. Well, he didn't seem to be that big of a threat, but she was sure he thought the same of herself; she wasn't exactly the intimidating type.

She could totally take him out if she really wanted to.

The boy apologized for his pet awkwardly. Hat Kid locked eyes with the creature in question, confused. What was it supposed to be? It sort of reminded her of a cat, but a fox as well. It had a 'mask' around its eyes and ringed tail; was it some kind of burglar? It wasn't a monster so she gave it one last cautious look before listening to the boy again. So, he isn't X, good news. She was a bit insulted that he dared think that she was this X person, however.

She shook her head at his guess and quietly said, "Nope. Hat Kid. Or just Kid," as she pointed to herself. Hat Kid then gestured to him and hummed questionably, clearing asking for his own name. While she waited, her eyes wandered the surrounding area still. She cared about that more, at the moment. An actual monster could sneak up on them at any time and she wanted to be the first responder.

Or maybe that was her own overconfidence after seeing how unintimidated the boy was with her.

Chūya Nakahara

male l 22 l Bungo Stray Dogs l ability-For The Tainted Sorrow l tagged-Natsuki

Alright so two things here. The first and most obvious thing was the fact that whoever this person was reached for a weapon at her side. It was what caught his attention even before the girl's words had. It would have been nice to say that her actions weren't expected, but that would be a lie. In fact the blonde's reaction to seeing him was exactly as he had hoped....it was normal. The copper haired Executive would have been more concerned if she'd been pleasant and not gone to draw a weapon or, at the very least, gotten into a fighting stance ready to throw down. Though this action also caused Chūya to let go a sigh of annoyance while putting a hand on his hip, "I'd put those things away kid. Don't even try, it's not worth your life or my time." While normally not one to shy away from a fight, in fact just the thought of that made the black-clad man huff, he wasn't in a fighting mood at the moment. Tough as it could be to believe. Right now Chūya was far more focused on getting out of this nightmare version of Yokohama and back to the real deal. Jeez was he dreading the report Mori would have him write up after this experience.

The second thing to catch Chūya's attention were the teen's, she didn't look old enough to be in her twenties yet so he assumed she was still a teenager, words. "Is it really worth answering that?",Chūya called back raising an eyebrow at her, "Where I'm from people can and tend to lie quite often. We don't know each other so what's stopping either of us from lying?" He didn't move from his place except to turn around and face her. Eyes trained taking in the teen's appearance. He could see why his first thought was to confuse him for his subordinate now to as he did. The hair...the skirt was different from the typical pantsuit he was used to see around the mafia halls..then there was the age difference....the way she spoke to him...yeah not Higuchi. Not someone from his world.

      Genji Shimada!!
xxxxmale thirty-five years old overwatch tagged: angela
      ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

The more he explored this place, the more he wondered if he was actually alone. After minutes of searching the ruined city he hadn't even spotted any sign of intelligent life. The only kind of life that seemed to exist in this place was the overgrown plants that had sprouted from the cracks in the concrete and poured out of the windows of many of the rundown buildings. It was a miracle that they even seemed to thrive in this kind of environment, but he supposed he had seen weird things happen. Pushing that thought aside, Genji shifted the shurikens between his fingers as a sound from nearby caught his attention. His initial thought was that it was nothing others than the wind, but he knew better than to dismiss such things so quickly without investigation. Standing still for a moment, he allowed himself to listen to the soft clicking, he closed his eyes in order to focus and figure out which direction it was coming from. After a few seconds longer, his eyes opened once again and he turned in the sounds direction only to be met with a figure in the distance. Finally, some sign of life. From a distance it was difficult to make out any kind of features of the being, but two things did stand out; the first was the feminine build the person appeared to have and the other was the wings that arched out from their back. Immediately his mind went to the one he knew with such features, Angela. He could still recall the many times he had seen her in action during his days at Overwatch. She was always flying about like some guardian angel, healing and helping all those she could. He owed much to her for what she had done for him. If anything, he owed his life to her. Even if he hadn't given her much thanks back when it had happened, Genji appreciated it now. She had given him the chance to live after his brother had left him for dead. Sure, it had changed the way he had to live, but it was life nevertheless. He wished he could have seen that back in the day rather than acting in the manner that he had. There was nothing he could do to change that now anyways.

Shaking the thought from his mind, the cyborg knew he needed to focus. Losing himself in other thoughts right now wouldn't do him much good nor would it put him at peace. In his moment's distraction, he had missed that the figure had drawn closer to him. It wasn't until the voice called out his name that he entirely snapped back into reality. That voice. There was no mistaking it. He would have never expected her to be trapped in this place nor would he have wished it either. Nobody deserved to be here, but sadly things didn't always work out the way they should. Still, Genji hated the thought that Angela was trapped here. He knew she had seen plenty of scenes like this one, but she deserved better than this. Her talents were needed back in their own world not in some dying one like this. He couldn't say the same for himself though. Even if he had found inner peace and come to accept himself, he still wasn't sure if his talents were something that truly benefited people. There were times when he could shine, but he was no doctor. As much as he tried to save lives, he could easily take them too. Grunting softly to himself at the thought, Genji gave a small shake of his head before focusing on Angela. As she neared, a smile crossed his lips although it was hidden away under his mask. "Angela," he breathed out. It had been awhile since he had last seen her. From the looks of it, she appeared to be doing well. Retracting his shirukens, Genji let his body ease up. "I agree. It is nice to see that I am not alone although I wouldn't wish this situation upon anyone." At her next question, the ninja gave a shake of his head in response. "I haven't seen any signs of life in this place. You are the first." He was glad that the first he had come across was someone he knew he could work with. Being able to avoid introductions and awkward small talk was a real relief. It saved time too. They could quickly figure out what they planned on doing without needing to get themselves on a common ground.

In that moment, Genji's mind momentarily went back to the letter he had read before and what exactly this place was and why they had been brought here. He had already assume his own role in the rebuild that X desired, but what was Angela's? It was possible that she was here given her healing capabilities and intelligence. That was the obvious answer, but there was a thought chewing at the back of his mind that thought it might be for other reasons. Mentally he was smacking himself for having such a thought. There was no possible way that this X person knew the history between the two of them or that admittedly he had interest in her albeit he wasn't even sure the extent of said interest. It couldn't be possible that they were supposed to rebuild this place together. Despite having the thought, Genji didn't dare mention it to the field medic. It would only make things awkward between the two of them. Besides, he had no intention of staying here. Wherever this safe place was hidden, he was going to find it. He wondered if that was the same for Angela. "I wish we didn't have to be reunited under these circumstances," he finally said, knowing he couldn't be quiet for much longer. "But I assume you do not want to stay here either, right? If that's the case then we should figure out what we're going to do."

🔥 yang xiao long / 18 / rwby / bi
species: human
location: unknown

she awoke in a dim lit room with nothing but her clothes, an old backpack, and the letter. right, the letter. yangs eyes scanned over the letter before she crumpled it up, throwing it into the corner as she sat upwards. she then stood and brushed off her knees. the room seemed empty except for the backpack.

taking the black backpack and slinging it over her shoulders, yang headed out the doorway of the room. she was met by flat land- something akin to what she would find at beacon. turning back, she looked to see the building she had come out of, but it was gone. nothing.

"great."

yang sighed and tossed her hair back over her shoulder, then started down the road in front of her. it was dusty and showed signs of wear and tear, but there were no vehicles to be seen. she looked around. the place seemed so... sad and miserable. a dense fog sat low to the ground, making it impossible to see more than 10 feet forward.

"hey!"

the girl felt her foot step on something. a rock? no. she looked up to see a heavily armored girl looking just as lost as she was. yang blinked, then frowned and narrowed her eyes.

"you know, you should watch where youre going."

    Death | N/A | Male | Fate (OC) | Tags: Thanatos

As he rode through the abandoned city, Death realized just how... well, ominous the entire place was. Now, as Death itself, he wasn't really that unfamiliar with areas that put one on edge. This place just had a perfect combination that made even him feel uneasy, from the ever-looming clouds to how sounds always echoed. He couldn't even sense any life from the area around him; not even the usually tenacious weeds growing between the cracks in the concrete didn't have a shred of life in them. If he was being honest, it was making him panic slightly. Perhaps he was simply too used to being able to sense life.

However, Death's slight panic was replaced with sheer horror over suddenly hearing a voice. Shouldn't he have been able to sense someone before they could see him? No... he could sense somebody, but he had to focus on them a lot. It was faint, but it wasn't the signal of someone that was dying. It was more like... someone in a state like himself. Not living, yet not dead either, stuck somewhere in the middle. Before now, he was the only one he could think of that was in this kind of a state like this. Undead, like zombies, weren't really... complete, and just felt hollow, despite having life. Someone like him felt more complete, despite being barely there. He wasn't sure if meeting another person like him was something good or a cause for concern. If they were, they would be nearly immortal, which would be a good or a bad thing, depending on what kind of person they were. He figured staying on edge would be the best idea for the meantime.

Another... guest of X's..? Well... that was one way to look at it. Well, X did bring him here- wait, was the other man being rhetorical? Or... sarcastic? That- ugh, nevermind. Wait, another guest of X's? This man was dragged here too? Well, looking at the man more closely... he really didn't fit in with his surroundings. This place was definitely modern, and the man looked like he would fit in at ancient Rome or Greece. Even if he was there, he would struggle to actually fit in, due to his skin being very desaturated and the fact that he was carrying a giant scythe around. Wait... he was someone important, wasn't he? Usually people didn't wear all sorts of gold accessories, unless they were some sort of king. Even then, kings usually didn't wear skulls on their clothes. This combined with his signal made him think this was some sort of death deity. He was immune to instant death, but he still had to be careful. Gods of death had tendencies to also be skilled fighters. "Sthénos, stay calm," he said, putting one of his hands on the horse's head. He could tell that his horse was tense too. It would definitely still follow his orders, but he did care about Sthénos's wellbeing. "Who are you?" He said to the other man.

      natsuki oshiro
female | persona 3 oc | feeling; suspicious | tags; chuya

by the time the voice answered back, the tone suggested definite arrogance, something that definitely rubbed natsuki the wrong way. secondly, the way he described his world, it sounded like a place where nobody could trust one another, if they had to lie so often. lying was something that natsuki was quite familiar with, having to hide some of her own dark secrets from SEES, but she wasn't necessarily proud of it. but from the way the stranger said it, lying was a necessity from where he came from. but here in this world, lying wasn't going to help anyone, not even himself.
"what could lying do to help you here?" natsuki answered back, her voice carrying an edge. "unless you want to stay stranded in this wasteland, i suggest being honest about how you got here. that is, if being honest is even a concept in your world." having nothing to lose, natsuki finally sprinted forward from her spot, skidding to a halt upon finally getting a good look at the stranger. looking at him, he definitely appeared older, probably in his twenties, if natsuki had to guess. at the same time, he was barely taller than her. but for a reason natsuki didn't understand, something about him felt...off. maybe it was the blunt answer he gave her, or maybe it was how nonchalant he appeared to be given the situation he was in. whatever the reason, something about this guy felt weird, and natsuki had a feeling that whatever he was going to give as an answer, she wasn't going to like it. just the thought of his potential answer made natsuki frown as she folded her arms, one hand still gripping her nunchucks.

Chūya Nakahara

male l 22 l Bungo Stray Dogs l ability-For The Tainted Sorrow l tagged-Natsuki

There was a period of silence where the young man stood watching the teen debating his next course of action. While she did reach for her weapon and still didn't release them, Chūya didn't retaliate. She wasn't attacking him and, while armed, was more a civilian at the moment. The mafia black-clad young man had never been one who was into harming innocent civilians....he did value life after all. Despite his work. Anybody that knew the Executive knew he even made sure to treat his subordinates well, coming to care for all of them and getting to actually know several of them. Or at least know their names. No. Chūya wouldn't harm this girl unless she attacked him, even then maybe not even unless she possed a threat to the Port Mafia or the city.

The ability user didn't react when the blonde teen approched him. He just closed his eyes sticking gloved hands in his pant pockets. "I'm not staying in this hole.", Chūya replied before, "But if it keeps you from possibly giving me a headache-" Opening his eyes looking at the girl, "-I'm going to take a guess the same way as you. Woke up in a building with a letter cryptic as hell and a map."

      Poppi!!
xxxxfemale unknown xenoblade chronicles 2 tagged: open
      ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

It was only a few moments before her search for some kind of life was finally successful although it seemed that it had found her rather than the other way around. That wasn't a problem, but the way the other girl spoke seemed hostile and caused Poppi to step back and cock her head in confusion. The other was claiming that she needed to watch where she was going yet it was difficult for her to miss much when wandering about given that she was no human and could see perfect fine even in the worst conditions that were offered. That was a benefit to being an artificial blade. Her eyes could easily light the way not only for herself but for her travel companions as well. She doubted she was at fault her. That was beside the point. Despite the hostile words that Yang spoke, it was still another being. Taking a brief moment to gather her thoughts, Poppi placed her hands on her hips and looked towards the blonde. "Poppi does watch where she is going," she confirmed. It wasn't unusual for her sassy side to come out though it was usually in response to things Tora said to her instead of others. Nevertheless, she found herself resorting to such a thing in order to deal with her current situation. "Poppi thinks you should watch where you are going." Giving a small shake of her head, the artificial blade dropped her hands from her hips and crossed them over her chest instead. Looking the girl over quickly, she could deduce a few things about her. For starters it was clear that she appeared to be much like Rex, Morag and Zeke in terms of species. She wasn't a Gormotti or one of the other stranger species that were native to Alrest. That was no surprise. The second thing that was obvious was that she seemed to lack any company.

Pushing that thought off, Poppi couldn't help but wonder if this person was stuck in the same situation as she was. She could assume so give how she acted, but it was probably better to ask than to assume. Despite struggling to understand concepts like that at times, the artificial blade found herself thinking more maturely than she usually would. Perhaps the upgrades she had received when she gained her other forms were starting to effect her base kit. Such a thing did not matter now though. "Poppi wonders if you are stuck here too," she finally said as she tilted her head once again. Despite it not sounding like a question, it was one. "Poppi woke up in this place and was told to rebuild. Is that the same for you too?"
