I chuckled "Oh trust me.. It was a nightmare, try having twin 5 year olds running around the house!" I sighed and listened to him speak, he seemed very conflicted, I felt bad for him, but I gave him the best advice I could.. "You've said before that its hard to get your parents to be proud of you right? So what if you spend all your time trying to make them proud.. When one day you do! How will they treat you from then on? Will they treat you the same as before or differently?" I looked at him and asked him honestly, "In my opinion, I say go for what makes you happy, it's what you should focus on and not your parents, because when you find somebody that you know loves and cares for you, you might not need their approval anymore" I smiled at him, changing back to my human form.

"Honestly... the first time I made them proud, I was seven. I got an award for being the top of my class. That was the first time they smiled at me. And then, about a week later, I got into a fight with someone who was bullying another student, and they got cold again." Colt shrugged a little. "They're proud until the slightest slip up."
He then nodded at the advice... but he wasn't sure which would make him more happy.
"If I find someone." Colt corrected, because he was pretty sure there wasn't a guarantee that he would find someone... was there? "But... thank you..."

Cato frowned, in thought. "Ohh, that's what they're called." he replied, then nodded, "Yes, I do." he had seen them before, but just hadn't learnt the name of them. Now he knew, obviously. He then glanced to the empty loop on Leon's choker, wondering how it got lost. He hadn't realised that something used to be there before. Perhaps it had come loose. There was little point in asking questions, as Leon had already said he didn't know where or when he lost it. Still, Cato wanted to help. "I will take a look... and ask the ducks that often visit this lake. They're always dropping stuff in that they find around the campus." Cato said, determinedly.

I opened my mouth to say something but shut it, I shook my head, "I bet you that theres somebody out there for loves and cares for you... I just don't think you've realised it yet..." I laid back down and smiled, looking at the stars, "I honestly wouldn't recommend trying to make your parents proud.. In my opinion, you can find somebody that will love you always, you won't even need to do things to make them proud for them to love you..." but I shook my head as I looked at him, "but you won't believe that... Will you?"

"Hmm... maybe." Colt lay back, to look up at the stars again. He did find it hard to believe... but maybe one day things would be different.
"Not yet, I don't believe it. But perhaps one day I will." he smiled very softly again, just for a few moments. "It's just what I've been taught. But I'm still rebelling again them. I guess I never liked the control they tried to have over me." Colt shrugged a little.

That made me smile a bit, "i'm glad you don't want to put up with their controlling behaviour.." I looked at him for a bit, realising that he was smiling again, I didn't say anything, I looked back up at the stars, a quiet yawn escaped my lips

"Maybe I'll get a tattoo as well... that'll really annoy them." Colt added, glad that Jesica was being supportive of him - even though he'd been so cold and sharp when they first met. It was odd to think about.
He continued staring at the stars, and it wasn't long before he ended up closing his eyes, half-asleep.

He smiled slightly, probably the most genuine smile he'd given anyone in a while. "I'd appreciate it, I'd you did. It was a gift from my father when I was a kid, and I don't see him especially often." Originally it had been a pendant, but the chain had been broken by his mother before he permanently moved out. So he'd switched to wearing it like he currently did. Made it less likely to be lost when he shifted. Unfortunately 'less likely' never meant 'impossible'.

I giggled tiredly, but as I continued to look up at the stars, my eyes shut, my head tilted to the side, laying on the roof

I nodded before standing and I payed for the food and drinks, "We should probably go to back to the school, or else we're probably gonna get in trouble if we stay out any longer" I giggled at my words

Eventually, Colt fell asleep completely, the faint breeze in the air hardly affecting him. It was probably the best sleep he'd had in years, not having to be concerned about someone in his family waking him up.

He smiled back, but then nodded seriously. It was obviously very important to Leon. So, Cato said, "I'll be back soon." Then he dived down, under the surface of the water and started to search the lake. It was fairly big, and since the ankh was small, it would mean he'd need a sharp, careful eye to try and find it. If it was even in the lake, of course. Maybe he could get the help of some of the other animals that lived in the lake, like the frogs that lived on the other side of the lake. He hummed as he searched, deciding to start with one section, then he popped back up to Leon. "Nothing so far." he informed, then went off to search the next section of the lake.

Ah, he hadn't expected this to become such a big... thing. He was thankful, sure, but part of him felt a bit bad too. When Cato popped back up briefly he waved back at him. It was getting late though, and just a little bit chilly. By the next time he'd resurface again Leon was replaced by a wolf-sized fennec fox casually sprawled out on the shore.
