"I'm pretty sure we've got the time." Colt said, and he very softly laughed, but he stopped after just a few moments. "Still sort of middle... just the younger of two middle." Colt replied, shaking his head a little. He wondered if that was why he was the rebel of the family... and a disappointment. He sighed, trying not to care about it too much. There was... a conflict that he wasn't sure he could talk about, between making his family happy and taking his own path.

He then glanced to the empty loop on Leon's choker, wondering how it got lost. He hadn't realised that something used to be there before. Perhaps it had come loose. There was little point in asking questions, as Leon had already said he didn't know where or when he lost it. Still, Cato wanted to help. "I will take a look... and ask the ducks that often visit this lake. They're always dropping stuff in that they find around the campus." Cato said, determinedly.

"Alright. Well... they don't like that I go to a school with other creatures. They wanted me to go to an all-vampire school, like my siblings. As the Kaneko lineage is high-ranking, I'm also expected to be above others as well. Not show emotion either, but that was already covered. My parents have always been distant, except if one of my siblings or I does something that makes them proud, which is... difficult... so we're often competing against each other." Colt fell silent, unsure if he was willing to say anything else. "Oh... and I'm pretty sure they're planning on marrying me to another vampire from another high-ranking family, to 'get me back in line' or something." he shrugged, nonchalantly, as though this was something entirely normal.

As he talked, I just got angrier and angrier, but when he said that he only got recignition from his parents when they were proud of him made me explode, I sat up quickly, "WHAT?!" I yelled, my demon voice seeping out unintentionally, my eyes glowing a bright purple, I started ranting, transforming accidentally while I was rambling "I'm sorry.. But parents are not supposed to do that! They're supposed to give their children love and support always and forever. Parents are supposed to protect you, they're supposed to keep you and your siblings from competing with each other, but instead, they just make it happen because I can bet on it, that you and your siblings havent felt actual love" I was panting when I finished, after I calmed down, I sighed, "I... .. I apologise.. It's not my place to tell you how parents should be... It's not my place to tell you how you should live... I'm sorry" I hugged my wings against my form, shaking my head, my tail laying flat on the roof

"AH!" he yelped, also quickly sitting up when Jesica yelled, and was essentially frozen in place as she ranted, a look of shock on his face. He blinked a few times, as she calmed down, but Colt was still a little on edge. Then, he shook his head a little. "I don't... think so..." he said, quietly, referring having not felt love - not from his parents anyway. It was probably also the reason he didn't really get along with his siblings that well.
"There's no need to apologise..." Colt added, trying to be reassuring. It didn't feel like he was being told how to live - he'd been making his own decisions so far, after all. Even if a part of him really wanted to make his parents finally proud of him. He rubbed his temples, eyes closed for a few moments, and when he opened his eyes again, he asked, "I'm guessing it's a different story with you and your family, right?"

"... Oh." Colt wondered what it would have been like to be raised by his siblings. Would it be better to have no parents or his parents? "That must have been hard, though." he said, because he couldn't imagine that much responsibility on him. But he figured that Jesica and her sisters got along really well, and that was something he would have liked.
Colt then shrugged a little. "I... I guess it's just all I've known. And this is pretty much the first time I've ever spoken about it." thinking about it, though, it was clear that his experiences were not the norm at all.
