- ● i chuckled at galen's little 'dogs' comment, making my way down the street beside him. suddenly, i
heard two screams, one more of a roar than the other. "sounds more like a couple squealing pigs
than dogs." i said with a laugh, tucking my hands into my pockets to hide my still-bloodied hand. "i'm
sure the alpha mutt will be there soon enough. she certainly wouldn't miss out on this sort of
opportunity. first fabletown murder in nearly 20 years? miss amabel will be all over it. too bad
she'll never have the chance to solve it." i flashed the tiger boy a devious grin, insinuating
that she most likely won't be alive to catch us. "anyway, we'd better head somewhere public,
in order to establish an alibi. just in case." i continued walking beside galen, a small boy
running down the other side of the street catching my eye. "wonder if that's one of our pigs..."
i muttered to my 'business partner'.

- ● eventually i put the phone down after taffeta explained the whole situation to me, a little lost for
words. i leaned against my desk, staring blankly in front of me. i was quiet for a while, even as
roy attempted to make his way out my office. claudia broke me out of my thoughts. i shook my
head, and glared at royce as he scooted towards the door. "no, somethings not right. i can't
have you two out on your own. no one can really be alone right now." i looked at the floor,
my thoughts getting to me again. "first fabletown murder... in nearly twenty years..." i
muttered, mostly to myself. i looked towards claudia, a bit of sympathy in my eyes as she asked
me who it was. i hesitated, unsure how she or really anyone in the room would take the news.
"darleen. god, claudia, she had been in our class in middle school." i was in utter disbelief.
i found my eyes wandering to jessica, thankful she was here and not somewhere where she was
in danger. lord knows what i'd do. i shook my head once more, trying to get my thoughts in order.
"okay, you three, you're with me. we're headed to the open arms. taffy found the body, she
can't be alone in case the killer is still around. we're going to have to put the town on lockdown
if it looks like another fable did it."
