K1-B0:
"K-Kiyotaka?!" He runs into the gym, but as he nears the body, he realizes there's nothing he can do. Who would do such a thing? How could they... go through with it? He doesn't wonder why. They've been given plenty of reason.

The door slams open again, and everyone starts gathering around the body in sort of a semi circle. Monokuma pops up to elaborate on the class trial rules. He passes out a tablet—a Monokuma File, he called it. 'MONOKUMA FILE 01' it says in bold letters. He can't find the focus to read through it right now.

It's sick, but as the initial shock and horror begins to ebb away, lying just underneath it is a profound sense of relief. Someone is dead, they've been murdered... and in return, the deadline no longer threatens their families. His father should be safe. It's like a myth or fairy tale; the ones in which a village must sacrifice one of their own to appease the gods. He didn't know Kiyotaka too well and he assumes he did not intend to die, but he feels grateful towards him nonetheless.

He knows this is not the correct emotional response to a murder. It's selfish. It's immoral. He looks off to the side, his expression tinged with guilt.

SHUICHI SAIHARA:
After entering the gym, he sits Jataro against the wall and takes a moment to catch his breath. He can't see anything with the way everyone's gathered around the body. As Monokuma goes through the rules, he walks around them to get a look. He tucks the Monokuma File he receives underneath his arm, kneels down next to the body, and as futile as it is, checks for breathing. Nothing.

Kiyotaka's uniform, which Shuichi distinctly remembers being a pristine white, has turned a pale grey. He runs a finger along the sleeve. No residue and it's completely dry. The colour is unvarying.

He steps back and takes out the Monokuma File. Swiping down reveals a profile for the victim. His information, cause of death, and time of death. It appears to be accurate. His eyes linger on ‘power related’. He can’t believe it, but he’s a little regretful that Monokuma never made them complete that ‘exam’.

ᴋᴀᴢᴜɪᴄʜɪ ꜱᴏᴅᴀ

Kazuichi looks away from the body, feeling as if he's about to either throw up or faint. Or both.

This can't be happening. He refuses to believe that someone has really started the killing game.

Barely holding back tears, he turns to face Korekiyo, who pulls him close. The pink-haired boy sobs into the dark green material of Kiyo's uniform, for once grateful that the masked boy is here.

ᴋᴏʀᴇᴋɪʏᴏ ꜱʜɪɴɢᴜᴊɪ

Korekiyo gently strokes Kazuichi's hair in an effort to comfort him. The pink-haired boy is visibly trembling, seeming even more shaken up than he was yesterday.

While still attempting to calm Kazuichi down, Kiyo decides to speak to the others.

"If I may have everyone's attention... I believe there might be something I can do to help you all with the investigation," he announces, "however... it may be somewhat... unsettling for some of you," he adds, as an afterthought.

Himiko Yumeno
Holding on to the Monokuma File with one hand, Himiko pushes her hat down with the other. Reading is a pain, so there's no way she's going to open the file, for that reason and the fact that she doesn't want to think about this at all. The situation is horrible, and although she can steer her focus away from the body, she can't bring herself to leave the room, even when she can teleport away at any second.

Hajime Hinata
It's finally starting to register that this is really happening when Shuichi kneels down to inspect the body. His friend who, from exploring with him during the past day, hasn't shown much confidence up until this point being the first one to take action makes him do a double take. Sure, Shuichi is a detective, so it's not surprising he would be the first one to look for clues, but... why isn't he doing anything? Their friend has died, and Hajime is staring into space. He shakes his head; this is no time for inaction. Monokuma has just reinformed them of the rules to this twisted game: if they can't find the blackened, then everyone except that person will die. In order to survive, they have to do this. No, it's more than just survivng; they need to find the culprit for the sake of it. But... is this culprit in the wrong? They've killed someone, one of their friends, but if they hadn't done anything by lunch time...

Let's just focus on the case, Hajime thinks. They have to. When he was first handed the Monokuma File just a second ago, he wasn't even aware of what was being given to him. He finally turns it on, and the information on the tablet comes to life on its screen.

Kiyotaka's power was wood manipulation, the file reads. The influence of Taka's power is evident in the floorboards of the gym. They sprout out from the ground, almost like they were trying to grow and reach a certain point. Does that have to do with... the falling, his cause of death? Was he trying to save himself? And thinking of the cause of death... the note next to it says that it was power-related. What in the world? Did someone drop him with their power?

He doesn't get to look through the file any longer, because Korekiyo gathers everyone's attention. Something unsettling, but it'll help? Maybe it has something to do with his power, Hajime thinks. But can it be an investigative power? Yesterday, Kiyo said his power wouldn't help while they were checking for a bomb in the janitor's closet, so probably not. "Unsettling?" he asks. "What are you going to do?"

He makes a small sound as Komaru runs to him, as she bumps up against him. He’s a little annoyed the two who were with her seem so wrapped up in each other for some reason...He sighs, shakes it off, and keeps her from looking at Kiyotaka...He glances to Himiko, saying “Himiko...you’re okay, right?”

"Well... I feel it would be better for me to just show you," Korekiyo replies.
He has something he has to deal with first, though.

He looks down at Kazuichi. It doesn't seem like the pink-haired boy is going to calm down any time soon, but Kiyo needs him out of his way right now. Why is he even wasting his time trying to comfort Kazuichi when it is clearly ineffective?

He lets go of the pink-haired boy, stepping back. Kazuichi looks confused, and Kiyo doesn't blame him, but the masked boy doesn't have time for this.

"If you're going to keep freaking out over every little thing, stay out of my way while you do it," Kiyo tells him flatly, expression cold, "meanwhile, I am actually going to be useful to this investigation."

He walks past Kazuichi, looking straight ahead as he approaches the body on the floor.

Taking a deep breath, he focuses on the corpse.
Soon, he begins to hear the sound...

Tick, tock, tick, tock.

A second, motionless body appears on the floor.
Aside from having no injuries, it's identical to the original one.

"I was thinking we could compare his unscathed body to the injured one," Korekiyo explains, looking around at everyone, taking in their expressions, "perhaps we will be able to find some clues."

The original body has a white uniform instead of a gray one, so his uniform must have changed colours after
death.

SHUICHI SAIHARA:
Unsettling was right. Even without any wounds, the Kiyotaka before them is undoubtedly a lifeless thing. A tingle of revulsion shoots down Shuichi's spine at the unnatural phenomenon. "Um, Kiyo... could you explain to us exactly what your power is? Is this Kiyotaka as he was right before his death?" Despite his uneasiness, he approaches the new body to compare it to the original. Apart from being undamaged, this body is wearing white. If his assumption is correct, then whatever turned the uniform grey occurred at the moment of or after Kiyotaka's death. It would also mean he had no injuries prior to falling.

"By the way... who discovered the body?" Monokuma had explained that the body discovery announcement is triggered by three people discovering the body. He'd seen four people in the gym when he came in, but had they all discovered together, or?

K1-B0:
As Shuichi begins his investigation, Kiibo is at a bit of a loss for what to do. He wishes he read some mystery novels or detective manga...

He's quick to answer Shuichi's question, eager to do something.

"The body discovery announcement played when Himiko and I entered the gym. We came over here because we heard Gundham shouting. Gundham and Kotoko were already in here, but I don't know which one of them was first." He looks over to the two, expecting them to clarify.

ᴋᴏʀᴇᴋɪʏᴏ ꜱʜɪɴɢᴜᴊɪ

"You are correct, this is indeed Kiyotaka's body prior to death. I am able to summon any object I desire - including bodies - from any point in time," Korekiyo responds, "though, I cannot summon living bodies, as you can see."

Once he's finished explaining his power, Kiyo takes a glance back to where Kazuichi had been standing before. Cursing under his breath, he realises that the pink-haired boy is nowhere to be seen.

It probably hadn't been the best idea to scold Kazuichi when he was already so distraught, but Kiyo can't take it back now. He makes a mental note to apologise later.

Trying - and failing - to hide his obvious worry, the masked boy attempts to focus on the investigation at hand.

Gundham Tanaka

Gundham listened attentively and responded "I was in the gym first, I was the first to stumble upon this horrible sight!" Gundham looked around, he realized this may incriminate him.

Kotoko Utsugi

Kotoko wasnt listening to them talk until they said her name at which point she began to listen, she hear Gundhams story and said "I came in when those guys came in *She points at Kaz and Kiyo*, Gundham was here first."
