In this world, every single person is a character from a book/movie/show. Whether it be famous or forgotten, the characters from it are living here. They weren't created for the book/movie/show, but instead, it was the other way around. The book/movie/show was made around one character, while the others were picked up and dropped into the story. The world is much like our own, but the more popular the book/movie/show a character is in, the more popular they are. Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Big Bird, Ariel, all of them known throughout the world of their successes. To be chosen is a normal event, normally occurring between ages 12-24, but can happen at any age, is still celebrated. It's like graduating high school. Not that much of an achievement, but still worth a tiny celebration. Maybe a hug, a trip to Starbucks, something like that.
When being chosen, a script appears in thin air and falls into your hands. That is it. Nothing much, but most people around you can tell when you get chosen. This script though, it isn't a normal script. It gives a brief description of everyone's characters, when to start and a vague idea of what goes on. It will not guide your actions step by step, but instead will say something small, just telling you what you should do. For example, a script would typically look like this:
PAGE 1: TITLE
PAGE 2: Description of everyone's character (mostly just their personality)
PAGE 3: Details (when it starts, anything special, etc.)
PAGE 4-END: Just vague plot threads. (- meeting with others - Jessica gets concerned - Allan offers support - begin journey, things like that)
The script automatically disappears about an hour after it appears, but the script is permanently engraved into one's mind at that point.
In this roleplay, you will be playing one of the 10 people chosen for this story. 7 of them are on the "good side" and the other 3 are on the "evil side". Your character will be unhappy with their role in some way, but while some of them may fight the script, others desperately conform to what it says, attempting to just get it over with.
