(Post is fixed!)
Mu / Spo’ary (male) / Katalan / Form / Tags: CapreseMu stared at the animal as it finally perished. He loosed his grip on the neck and retracted his coils, stumbling backward from the force.
He stood in a daze for several seconds, gaze fixed on the antelope’s body. One emoji appeared on his display.
😨
Caprese’s question snapped him out of it. Her arm required immediate attention.
“I certainly can, if I can find the right—”
He whipped around inside his helmet, searching himself, the other survivors, the terrain...
“...material.”
😐
...The antelope he’d thought he was done interacting with.
Mu rolled up to it, bent down by its face, placed his right hand
on its cheek, and closed his own eyes.
“You are a mighty and proud beast. I hope you will not find me responsible for your passing. I hope, by the grace of your Maker, to return to my children innocent of your lifeblood. But
these Image-Bearers are my charge, and I thank you deeply for giving us your body. I hope your soul will find peace.”
😞
Mu then took a bone from its body—the perfect length, width, and straightness—and brought it back to Caprese.
He sat beside her, removing her jacket and examining the broken arm. It was particularly ugly where teeth had dug in.
“This will hurt a bit.”
😬
He laid the bone along the arm, then ripped a section of his own red cape to tie it to the arm at both ends.
Afterwards, he put the broken arm through the sleeve of her jacket without letting the hand stick through, wrapping the rest of it over her other shoulder, and then tightly tying the other end of her sleeve to the end of the first, suspending the splinted arm in a makeshift sling.
“I hope this is satisfactory. I’m sorry I have nothing for the pain. Are you feeling cold?”
😦
He saw that her skin was paler than it should be, and sweaty, too.
