"h-" the boy wasn't sure eom how this would go. if she refused to tell him his name, he didn't think she'd tell the two new recruits. should he save her ass of should he let his keep going? it wasn't like she was going to mind. "uh- call her Rella. her name's classified, apparently" he said a tad unsure, his arms crossed against his chest. he couldn't say he wasn't curious about her name, but, he respected secrecy. he had too many situations were he found out that loudmouths are the worst.

"Yeah, you get to know my name when I trust you," Caprese said, "and right now I don't trust any of you. Rella's fine, for now." It was the alias she used for most things non-passione related. If anyone who wanted to hurt her tried to look up Caprese Insalata, they wouldn't find anything. Her villa, her credit card, even her car were all under an assumed name. It was safer that way. People in her line of work made a lot of enemies, and the best way to not die was to not be found. Not that she really expected any of these people to find her, but that was just it, wasn't it? It was never who you expected. That was why she trusted her team, her famiglia, and nobody else.

His fins twirled around curtly under his black-inked alien body. His right robotic hand waved in greeting.

damien chuckled at the funky little alien, he really did remind him of home. it was like something they would find in the field and freak out over. polly would gush over how cute it was and how it would be such a cool party friend. miranda would flip and insist it was one of her loyal subjects that rebelled her kingdom to join them on land.
it would be nice... he wished they were here to see this, even if they got in his nerves sometimes. at least scott always cheered him on, and vera had a plan they could follow and still have fun....

whatever, those dorks didn't matter right know, he'd get back to them later, and boy would he have a story to tell them. right now he had to focus on this new group of dorks. he turned to the kid with the punchable face and shrugged before glancing at rella. "been here for a little while, so far I know that there's some wack baby/elephant looking creatures and that acid can rain down, apparently" he shrugged. " she's been here longer than I have, so, ask her"

As if on cue, a gurgling moan combined and an excited panting began to emanate from the dark, the clopping of hooves coming closer. Eventually, a strange, Antelope-like creature became visible in the lantern light (the same Antelope that Caprese encountered earlier). However, it appears to have come out of the storm much worse for wear. Its formerly thick coat of fur is now ragged and spotty, raw skin and, in some places, muscle visible in the gaps. One of its eyelids droops over what could best be surmised as formerly being an eye, the other eye frantically glancing from one survivor to the next. And, most shocking of all, is what's emanating from its stomach-mouth.

As the Antelope's remaining eye twitches from survivor to survivor, a long tongue began to almost ooze out of its jaw as its panting increased in pace, with the moans from its stomach-mouth likewise increasing in pace. Hooves pawing at the ground, its eyes shakily settled on Damien, panting and moaning reaching a fever pitch.

And then the Antelope screams, both mouths forming an unholy symphony of frenetic noise.

And meanwhile, within the recesses of the beast's stomach-mouth, a certain firbolg began to awaken with ink in their eyes.

Mu tried to gather as much information as possible from looking at this creature. It clearly wasn’t reasonable. It couldn’t be calmed or bribed. It had to be escaped, or killed.

That glow! It matched that of Mu’s own lantern. And the one he observed on Rella’s belt, and....

In Damien’s hand.

“Apologies.”

Mu grabbed the lantern from Damien. He first punctured it with his broken cord-finger on his left hand, hoping to have some fuel on the sparking end of his cord.

Then, with his right hand, he threw the lantern with speed and precision at the beast’s face.

“Gas. Oil. Electricity, maybe....”

It was one of the antelope things from before, but up close it was way creepier. Somehow she'd managed to completely miss the fact that it had a whole second mouth running down its belly, though she didn't miss the lantern glowing inside it. This thing had swallowed someone. Maybe they were still alive, though that wasn't really her main concern. Her main concern was preventing herself from being swallowed. If they managed to save someone while doing so, well, that was just someone who owed her a favor.

A high-pitched, dentist-drill whine filled the air as Caprese spun up her ball, sizing up her target as the fish-head took matters into his own hands. Throwing a lantern probably wasn't the best course of action, considering they were in short supply, but she supposed he was making the best of things. With a flick of her wrist, the gangster sent the ball flying towards the monster, aiming for its belly. She wasn't sure how its anatomy worked, but hopefully she could get it to disgorge its unfortunate meal.

What the hell is that thing? Mondo looked closer, and realized there was someone in there. Huh? Are you seeing this too? He shook his head, but it was still there. He couldn't just charge this thing like he wanted to do, but he couldn't let the fight go on without him. You guys get the thing, I'll go in and get the kid.
