Sylvain was on stable duty. Now technically speaking, he wasn't actually supposed to be on stable duty schedule-wise, not this week anyway. But he found himself wandering in the direction of the stables regardless. A punishment was a punishment even if he thought the whole thing was being blown wildly out of proportion. As usual. Honestly. He had his arms behind his head as he walked, frowning vaguely at nothing. People were just a bit on edge he guessed, not that he could blame them really. Even he was, just a little, if only because his father had recently deemed it necessary to inform him that their family's relic had gone missing. If he'd had any reason to doubt the rumors before he didn't now -- not just anyone could have managed that.
Ugh. And here he'd thought he'd have a chance to relax and have some fun while at the academy. Just his luck.
A few moments later had Sylvain rather puzzled for a completely separate reason though, head tilted to the side slightly as he stared down at a man -- one of the knights -- laying in the stables. "You alright there, buddy?" He was trying really hard not to laugh, just because it was a rather ridiculous place to find a knight. But also he wasn't quite ready to be chewed out again already because he laughed in a knight's face. "Not the best place for a nap, y'know."

Well, Zephyr sure wasn't expecting someone to come into the stables. He knew someone would come in for stable duty, but he didn't expect someone to come in right after he had started getting comfortable on the floor. Judging by the guy's clothing, he was a student. Zephyr honestly hadn't been paying much attention to who was on stable duty, so he wasn't going to question why this guy was here. Although, he had heard that a student was on stable duty for flirting with this one girl with green hair, and apparently the archbishop's second-in-command wasn't too happy about it. Seemed a little ridiculous to him, but questioning the actions of another green-haired man wasn't Zephyr's job here.
"Yeah, I'm good. Guessing you're here for stable duty?" He said to the student currently standing next to him. Zephyr didn't have much to do, so he might as well try to start a conversation with this guy. "By the way, what's your name?"

      Claude von Riegan!!
xxxxmale eighteen years old class: archer tagged: hilda
      ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

Allowing his train of thought to continue on for a moment longer, Claude was finally pulled back to reality as he heard a voice addressing him. Lifting his head and opening his eyes, his gaze settled upon Hilda. It was no surprise that she of all people had approached him but sometimes he did wonder why she did. Sure she was essentially his “right hand man” in the Golden Deer house but he knew how lazy she was and he figured that avoiding him would give her much less work to do. Nevertheless, here she was and from the sounds of it she was questioning what he was going on about. Letting a faint smirk cross his lips, the archer gestured towards the group he had been eavesdropping on only a moment prior. “I was only talking to myself about what they were saying,” he replied. He figured he would have to go into more detail than that given that she hadn’t heard the conversation that had taken place and from the sounds of it the group had moved on to a new topic anyways. From what he could tell they were rambling about regular school gossip which he had little to no interest in. Tuning the small group out, his full attention moved back to Hilda. “They we’re discussing the events that have been happening recently around Fódlan.”Everyone at the academy by now had heard of the events taking place so he was sure he didn’t need to explain it any further but then again this was Hilda that he was speaking to. It was hard to tell if she always paid attention to everything around her. Even so he was positive she had at least heard of this even if she hadn’t been paying too much attention to it. From his knowledge her family’s hero relic had been one of the ones to disappear along with the one that had belonged to House Gloucester. In his eyes it was a miracle that the one under his family’s possession hadn’t been targeted yet. Perhaps that was a blessing in disguise.

Pushing the thought off, a serious expression crossed the noble’s face and he dropped his arms away from his chest. “I was thinking of how things are about to get interesting around here,” he said, his voice sounding much more serious than it usually was. It was fitting with the expression he wore. Such was a rare sight to see, but Claude admittedly was concerned of what was happening around Fódlan more than he thought he would have. Plus he was positive the problems occurring around them would eventually involve the students soon enough. He doubted the Church would stay silent for too long on the subject and when that happened he knew they would be assigning not only the knights but the students to missions surrounding the relics. Surely Rhea would want to put an end to these things as quickly as possible. It wouldn’t make her look good if they continued for too long without intervention from the Church. Pushing the thought aside, the serious expression faded from his face and was replaced with his usual smirk. “I don’t doubt that we’ll be getting into action soon enough. Sounds exciting if you ask me.”

Class had seemed to drag on for ages so the moment that they were allowed to leave Theon was already on his feet. He didn't leave right away however he lingered for a moment as he methodically collected his things. Perhaps he took too long collecting his things since by the time he was done almost everyone who was going to leave the classroom had already left. Slowly he started for the door of the classroom, for a moment he wondered where he was to go next. Normally he would head back to his room to read up on some sort of strategy to better his class. However today he wasn't feeling like being in his room right way, he had spent too much time in there as of recently. So when he stepped out of the classroom and spotted Hilda and Claude talking off to the side he decided that bothering the two of them might be the best course of action. Of course if they acted like they didn't really want him around he would excuse himself and go to his room. It wasn't like he had any other friends to talk to. Moving forward he quickly made his way over to the other two in his house. He arrived just in time to see just a moment of what had been a serious expression on Claude's face. It wasn't the usual expression that he was used and he almost became worried but when the smirk returned he felt his worries dissipate. "Should we expect trouble?" he inquired curiously. He hadn't even bothered to greet the two of them. This was much to interesting to possibly put off asking about what was going on.

At least he didn't have to worry about some crisis in the stables, though he hadn't thought that to be the case anyway. Just some knight who thought it was a good place for a nap apparently. Absolutely incredible. "You would be correct," not that he especially wanted it to be correct. He flashed the knight a grin regardless. "Name's Sylvain! Sylvain Jose Gautier at your service. Sorry for interrupting your... nap, but an assignment's an assignment, you know?" He'd already made a mental note not to speak to Flayn any more to avoid this in the future. Even if he absolutely had not been flirting with her as everyone seemed to assume. She'd just been asking him if he knew about what fish were in the pond. {He hadn't, fishing wasn't really his thing.} Not that he didn't deserve the assumption, but still.
