Ray exploded out of he ocean, his turquoise eyes shining brightly in the sun. Water droplets flew from his scales, catching the sunlight, and looking an almost golden as they splashed back towards the water. Wings flapping, and head slightly lowered, he took off into the air at a fast pace, reaching a clearing where he landed with a loud thud. Slowly, he shifted into his human form, a skinny boy of about 13 or 14 with blond, almost caramel colored curly hair.

Rukia leaped over logs and swerved around trees, the sunlight playing with her eyes a little bit. The young, small girl turned a corner and stopped dead, frozen in pplace, slipping into the shadow of a tree.she frowned, watching for Ray.the birds were singin and she paused, sitting with her back against the tree. birds...the only birds she had heard before were those of an owl....she smiled slightly, liking the sweet summer melody.

Ray suddenly stiffened, his turquoise eyes narrowing as he spotted a flickering shadow out of the corner of his eye. Someone had either followed him, or was waiting to attack him. He leaned down, drawing a long, dagger-like knife out of it's sheath which was tied to his belt. "Who's there?" He growled, his muscules tensing as he got ready to attack.

Rukia frowned, opening her green eyes and turned around to see a blonde boy at the other side of the small clearing.She opened her mouth to speak but stopped, her eyes narrowing as she examined the boy....she looked at his eyes..ray? she grinned and started laughing, lening against the tree."For goodness sake! put your knife back Ray!"she giggled, stpping form the shadow of the tree.she gasped dramaticly."you dont reconize me?!"she chucled a little more, green eyes gleaming.she paused for a brief moemnt. even as a human..ray was quite a bit taller than her.

Ray's mouth, which was originally in a grim frown, assumed an 'O' shape as he studied the human girl in front of him. She looked about his age, with sparkling green eyes and dark hair....Oh. "Sorry." He murmured, smiling sheepishly as he seathed the knife and stepped back. "I get nervous when I'm in my human form. I just feel so exposed as weak."

Rukai rolled her eyes."that, my friend, is how i feel at this time of day."she yawned widely and gave him an expectant, annoyed look."i hope your happy. im missing out on a lot of good 'Z's"." she grinned mischieviously at him.

Ray shrugged, returning the smile. "Let's get started, then." He laughed, taking a few steps towards Rukia. "Which kind of dragon would you like to start learning about?"

Rukai frowned.learning about other dragons? what happned to learning to fight? she sighed and shrugged."fire."she picked at random.
