Cavan opened his book and attempted to follow the teacher and take notes but the weekend and the bleach blond girl beside him were taking their toll. Kay driveled on mindlessly about her weekend which seemed endlessly fascinating to her but compared to Cavan's thoroughly dull. Finally Cavan couldn't take it anymore so he turned and glared at her saying, "Kay, you might not have, but I chose to come to school so I would like to learn something, 'kay, Kay?"
The teacher of course had not heard a word till now and turned, "Cavan! Are you talking in my classroom?"
"No ma'am," he replied respectively, with only a ting of annoyance, "but the girl you sat me beside can't seem to stop."
She stared at the two of them in silence for a moment before turning back to the board saying, "Hood down, Cavan."
He sighed and pulled his hood down flinching slightly as the light hit his eyes. He would have banged his head against the desk if he thought it would help.
