- Starter post!!! And I know it says that the one in charge of the mafia's intelligence is open, but I am going to put Higuchi as the fill in here for right now for plot reasons. If someone wants this spot later one we can kill her off or something for the new person.

It had been what felt like a lifetime ago and one belonging to another person at that. The fact he never once gave his past a second thought or care before adding to the foreign feeling now. He'd climbed up the ladder so far now that the events of his past proved little to no interest other then they happened to the man. And yet...

Grey eyes snapped open. A frown dragging down a face that normally had an air of arrogant cool about it. A tight black gloved fist grasped at his side shaking out of sight behind the desk. A light sweat braking out over the man's face while he stared down at what had held his attention all day. For laid out over the wooden surface was a slew of papers and files bearing a wide verity of information on each, yet each bit of information was also related to the other. A small pile of books sat precariously in one corner of the desk, while yet others lay open strewn about the floor around the desk. Photographs of the organization's members likewise were all layed out. The man knew everyone in the mafia's intelligence group had been working like maniacs since their boss first ordered every detail, no matter how insignificant, to be gathered on this particular matter. While it was normal for the boss to sit back, place his people and be more the brains then a combatant this man wasn't a typical boss. Nor was this a typical case of putting down some gang or rival organization threatening his people and city. Not this time. Not when there was a bagged knife with blood stains on it resting on his desk giving him flashbacks of a past he had tossed off years ago. Or thought he had tossed off years ago once joining the Port Mafia anyway..

"Boss."

The orange haired man looked up as a familiar voice snapped him from his thoughts giving blessed relief. Even if he knew they were only going to be for this moment of holding a conversation. Getting to his feet the man walked over to meet the mafia member half way, "Well? You've got the results for me Higuchi?", he asked coming to a stop in the middle of the room.

"Yes. As you ordered we checked the knife used at this last incident and compared it the knives used during the previous incidents as well. The results of those tests all matched up exactly with each other.", her voice faltered as she offered a small stack of paperwork to her superior. Ichiyo Higuchi. A women who was formerly a Mafioso acting as assistant to one of the mafia's Executives running their guerilla attack force. A diligent loyal member of the organization indeed, yet one whose talents were wasted where she had been. So, when the mafia changed bosses, she was placed where she was better suited. That happened to be as the person responsible for maintaining their intelligence division. It was a good change too. The blonde Mafioso always seemed to function best in covert ops and, as the one running the mafia's intelligence, naturally she was excelling as an invaluable asset to the mafia in this new position.

"And those results were? Don't keep me on the edge of my seat all day.", prompted the man noting the women's clear hesitation as he took the paperwork offered.

"That in every incident the blade was laced with rat poison."

Higuchi collapsed to the ground as the office floor crumbled in on itself as soon as the words left the blonde's mouth. She had no idea why the boss had acted as he had at the news. Surely, if he'd wanted this information specifically like he had, then he'd had some idea of what the results would come to be. Yet there was no mistaking the orange haired man's power. The floor had been blown away by a sudden increase of gravitational force stemming from the man now bearing a glow of red energy around his frame. The disappearance of the floor under her feet caused Higuchi to collapse. "S-Sir..."

The floor around him had been crumbled into a circular crater with the exception of a small radius around him. It seemed that his powers effected Higuchi as well though minorally and unintentially. But finding out that the blades used to kill his people were laced with rat poison made the mafia's boss snap. Weather it was just as he had feared or not didn't matter. 'Its no use struggling, I rubbed rat poison on the blade. You'll go numb soon. You won't be able to move.' He grit his teeth together at the words echoed unwelcomed in his head bringing anger with them. They were so loud in his head, that whole moment so clear, it was like it had just happened again. 'Its only because you're so damn powerful, otherwise we wouldn't have to do it this way!' Without his ability to get him out of the situation, plus a certain suicidal maniac to handle the organization from there? He very well could have been found and killed once the poison took a firm hold. Likewise his people whose photographs were on his desk would have suffered the same fate. Only none of them were neither Gifted nor had the mafia come to save them so had a very different fate then their boss.

'This is the smartest thing we could do! Its the only way we can wipe out the Port Mafia!' "Smart my ass.", said the orange haired man under his breath as his eyes narrowed and body tensed as if for a fight. Turning around the mafia boss headed back towards his desk with footfalls crushing the floor around his feet with each step taken. The red energy glow still outlining his body. Then raising his voice so the women could hear, "Like hell I'm going to let those bastards wipe out the Port Mafia." Taking his hat and tossing his coat over his shoulder, the man took a phone in his free hand. After a moment of holding the communication device to his ear, "It's me. We need to talk."

Meanwhile at the same time...
"We don't do anything."

All at once every pair of eyes turned to Dazai as he stood from his seat. His fellow members of the agency staring wide eyed at the suicidal maniac in shock...all except one pair. Those of the President were narrowed in knowing suspicion as his partner turned to leave the room. His voice... The way his partner spoke gave Kunikida all the information he needed to know. Though rhyme and reasons maybe unknown to the Gifted, he learned some time ago that was par for the course with his fellow detective. Despite being partners for all this time Dazai was still a mystery to him, and that was never going to change. He'd be a fool to think it ever would too. There wasn't a person on the planet that could ever hope to understand the twisted detective's motives or way of thinking. Forget about actually being able to do so. Of course that didn't mean people weren't going to attempt such a feat...

Atsushi was also on his feet bracing himself against the table as he leaned over it. His eyes locked on his mentor leaving the room. "What!? Are you serious Dazai?!", the silver haired detective spoke up staring at his colleague, "We aren't talking about small time criminals here! Whoever these guys are they killed members of the Port Mafia! You know them better then the rest of us do! Akutagawa will tear them to shreds if we don't step in and do something!" Turning to the agency president, "President talk to him!"

"Atsushi. If Dazai knows the Port Mafia as well as he does then you should know Dazai by now. I don't like letting the mafia go unchecked about as much as you do but...", the agency President looked over towards the former mafia member before looking back at the silver haired detective, "...this one isn't our case. It's not as if civilians or other innocents were involved here. It's clear from the victims that whoever is committing these murders are gunning solely for the Port Mafia. Imagine if even one of us were these victims."

The room went silent. After all every member of the agency knew what they'd do if one of them were killed. On the side of the law, technically, or not they'd be little different if at all then the Port Mafia.

"Still if it helps you sleep at night Atsushi then let me say this much.", said Dazai pausing in the doorway to the room to cast a glance over his shoulder at the were-tiger, "Akutagawa isn't going to be the one dealing with these guys. That much I can promise you."

-Since we do not have Aktugawa yet decided to start things like this.

It wasn't fair.

It just wasn't fair!

The young teen stared down at the grave she was standing over with narrowed eyes. Hands clenched into fists resting in her pockets trying to keep her emotions in check. It wasn't working. The fury was still visable just by glancing at her face and in her body language. Despite not knowing personally who the deceased these graves belonged to were, the orange haired teen had made this a ritual. Visting these headstones to pay her respects to those who'd been murdered in cold blood. Yes. Things such as death, murder, torture and violence in general were the currencies of the Port Mafia which the teen knew all too well. Yet, despite that knowledge and the lack of personal involvement with the victims, Yukiko Nakahara still felt connected to each victim that had been identified. After all they were all mafia. They were nothing more then one of the numerous foot soldiers and occasional Mafioso yet the girl felt for them. Rank and role didn't matter to her. The Port Mafia was her family as well as all it's members. Everyone from those which were more rank and file to the five Executives. The grave she was currently visiting belonged to the latest assasination victim....targeted for no other reason then being a member of the mafia like several others had been.

Yet the Boss refused, totally and utterly refused, to allow her to join the organization! So much so that it wouldn't surprise her if she asked only to end up pulverized on the ground floor of headquarters from the top floor office next time. It wasn't like the orange haired teen was asking for special treatment or a high position! Because that was the last thing on the teen's mind! She wasn't asking for personal glory or out of boredom either! Yukiko wanted to join the organization because she believed she could help do some good. No strike that...it was more like Yukiko knew she could do some good if she joined the organization. Why couldn't the Boss see that!? Frustrated the fifteen year old dug her teeth into her lip standing there staring at the headstone before her.

MORI OUGAI
location; port mafia head hideout // tags; n/a

mori walked through the stone hallways of the port mafia hideout. his dress shoes clicking
against the cobblestone floor and his coat flowing behind him. the halls he once used to own
now seemed to bow to a new king. sighing he looked down at his gloved hands. it seemed as if
now the old mafia boss was now deemed worthless. of course, he often went on small missions
,kept an eye out on the city, or participated in little skirmishes with the former armed agency
president, fukuzawa. without realizing it he started to hum a small tune whenever the memories
of his past skirmishes came to mind. all seemed to be well for the mafia and all seemed to be well
with himself. elise seemed to finally warm up to the other members and his old subordinate, chuuya
nakahara seemed to be leading the mafia perfectly. almost as perfect as the old mafia boss himself.

DAZAI OSAMU
location; outside of the agency // tags; n/a

dazai stood against the brick wall of the entrance to the agency. the cool air swirling around
him, ruffling his dark chestnut hair, and tan coat. everything outside was peaceful. birds flew
around without a care, children ran along the sidewalk, and couples walked alongside each other,
lost in each other's eyes. sometimes dazai wish he had a significant other. the idea of holding hands,
getting lost in each other's words, and having an emotional connection seemed to warm up to dazai
but, no one seemed to want to get close to the maniac.

i can't think of anything else today so excuse my short response sfklhgjkh

She had no idea how long she stood there staring at the headstone bearing the unfamiliar name. It could have been a few minutes or even all day, but time just past her by. The young teen too irritated to care about it. There had to be a way to convince him she would be a benefit to the organization...just had to be. After all the Boss was, most of the time, level headed. He wasn't above compromise or rationality, and knew their importance just fine. There had to be a way to either prove herself or reason with him if the orange haired girl could just find it. But that would have to wait for the time being. She wasn't a fool after all. Yukiko might have been young but laying with a bunch of criminals did teach her one very important thing over her few years...when she had a tail. The teen didn't look away from the grave. She didn't give any indication that she knew there was somebody else near by watching her. Yukiko waited another minute to sell her apparent obliviousness, before offering a bow of respect. A silent gesture of thanks for the departed as well as another moment to weigh her options. There was no way of knowing exactly who was with her in the first place after all. But the young girl knew there was no way she could lead whoever was around home. If she gave away her awareness then the tail could flee although... Luckily Yukiko was well equipped to handle any unwanted attention she may pick up while out and about the city. And this person's timing could not have been more perfect if planned herself.

If this guy wanted to tail this particular dog then so be it, he'd regret thinking she was easy prey. Especially since he just gave her a brilliant idea. Yukiko would solve these mafia murder cases! The fact the organization's boss would have the proof he needed that she was more then capable of being a member was the bonus which locked the thought in. Fighting back a smile the orange haired teen gave her last respects to the murder victims before turning to leave still acting perfectly normal. Just wait until she ot to the port though. Yukiko was officially on her first job for the Port Mafia.

-Its fine. She is being followed by a nameless Sheep ncp. I wrote this so maybe she could run into Dazai or something.

Evelyn Heller - outside the agency - tags yukiko
>> I wasn't sure what her ability would designate Dazai as, or if it would even work with him,
>> so I'm gonna ask tch, first and have her notice him in the next post. X'D hope it looks good ;o;

There was pep in her step and a confident smile on her face as she made her way down the streets of Yokohama. Her dark leather bookbag was held close to her side and she sifted through the contents briefly, reminding herself of the agencies she was visiting today. The list was short, but the possibilities were endless in her mind. She could meet anyone, discover something world changing, or perhaps she'd just have a few amusing stories to add to her roster. Regardless, she couldn't wait to experience the reality for herself. Because today felt like a special day, and she wasn't in the habit of doubting her instinct. It wasn't long before her intuitive sense of expectation was answered, either.
On a whim she felt the urge to pause and take in her surroundings, the bright sun and beautiful day suddenly too significant to ignore. She didn't question these impulses anymore, they were simply a part of her, a trait of her unusual gift. Every detail seemed to leap out at her and beg for attention as her gaze traveled; the bright green blades of grass along the sidewalk, the dazzling gleam of the buildings that stretched far into the skyline, the intriguing and elegant signs for shops and restaurants that she would undoubtedly want to explore later, and finally, the most important thing- which she realized was the reason she paused in the first place- the eyes of a stranger that beckoned to her with a force of gravity she was all too familiar with. A weight of importance Evelyn hadn't felt in a very long time. They were a protagonist.
Evelyn's sight was keenly trained on the girl, admiring her vibrant blue eyes and fiery orange hair as she walked with purpose in her direction. There wasn't a doubt in her mind that she was on a mission of some sort, it was etched into her body language, the firmness of her shoulders and momentum of her stride. Though something wasn't quite right, there was a tension in her eyes Evelyn didn't understand. It was enough to hold her back from directly saying hello, despite her own desire to meet this young woman and understand why fate had singled her out to the investigator. The longer she watched, the more Evelyn got the sense she should keep an eye on the girl. It wasn't as if she was late for any of her appointments and this encounter was the most interesting thing to happen to her in Yokohama so far. With bubbling curiosity, Evelyn positions herself on the curb so that when the girl passes she'll be able to seamlessly join the foot traffic behind her and discreetly observe her actions.

The teen continued to walk steadily down Yokohama's streets, hands tucked into her tail coat pockets by now. She could feel a few glances here and there but simply ignored them. It wasn't like she could blame the nameless on-lookers who, apparently, knew better then to ask questions. This made a small unvoluntary smile pull at Yukiko's lips. No doubt that it was her choice of dress that was keeping the questions at bay as she moved through the general public of the city well on alert. Whoever heard of aa fifteen year old, any fifteen year old, dressed looking like a future bussiness CEO? Though the organization didn't have a uniform per say, it's members were also not referred to as 'black dogs' for no reason. Someone dressed in all black automatically seemed to put the city citizens on derseved awareness....not that the orange haired girl would ever harm an innocent bystander though. Even if she wasn't focused as she was at the moment. Still just the thought the people of Yokohama subconciously associated her as mafia caused Yukiko to swell with ego-boosting arrogant pride. So much so that the girl passed Evelyn without second thought.

Her tail was still following she could feel, their position was unsure but they were behind her. Every person she passed while walking was a potential culprit. Even if she'd expected whoever was after her to make some sort of move by now.....were they holding out for something? A better location to cause a more massive casualty list perhaps? More mafia members to come along after her so as to take out more then one of their organization? Were they on to her perhaps? Or maybe just observing her? The list of possibilities going through the teen's head felt near endless and each possibility could very easily be the right possibility. Almost....almost there. All Yukiko had to do was hold off until she reached the port and then she could deal with the guy. She'd hold off until they got to the port and then make pay for what he had done to her family.

-next post will be at the port. Just didn't want to 'poof' them there. Plus this gives Dazai a chance to be noticed/mentioned before moving on.

osamu dazai // location; outside of the agency // tags; n/a

a sudden movement caught the attention of the gifted. his chestnut brown eyes fluttered up
from looking down at his feet towards the movement. it seemed to be a young girl running. running
as if she had a deadline to be somewhere and if she didn't get there in time....the gifted took
a few steps out onto the sidewalk and started to take long strides. not a running speed exactly,
but a speed that wouldn't have been considered walking either. it was odd, to say the least,
to find someone in this city just running frantically. unless you were involved with
some kind of gang... "hey, miss, is there a reason you're just running through here ?" he called
out, his voice drifting over the sound of the city. "you could really hurt someone if you ran
into them."

dkfjgh; sorry for the late reply ! i hope this is what you meant by
her & dazai meeting.

Evelyn Heller - outside the agency - tags; n/a
>> aaa so excited! =D haha, who should rescue who in the next scenes? XD

Every flick of the girl's gaze told Evelyn something new, each quirk of her lips communicating something intriguing. It was clear to her now that the teen was in her own little world, as she seemed to be amused with her thoughts and didn't pause to note Evelyn's attention despite her clear view of the investigator. It was a bit disheartening, if she were being honest. Not that it was a surprise, no- it was utterly normal. Other people simply didn't recognize important characters to their own stories the way Evelyn did. It was a fact she was reminded of with every new person she met, yet she couldn't stop that small part of her from wishing someone would see her the way she could see them.
With a breath to steady herself she subtly trailed after the unusual teenager, the years of careful training to remain unnoticed during stakeouts and tails letting her weave through the streams of pedestrians unseen without much thought. It would be obvious to the casual observer that the orange-haired girl likely had rich parents, or the lesser but still possible outcome, that she was a prodigy of some kind and successful in her own right. Either option could be a potential reason the two would meet and cooperate. Since Evelyn's skill set was very specific, any common goal they might have would likely stem from some ongoing subterfuge or upcoming threat to the girl or her family. It was all going to come to a head in the next few minutes if her nagging suspicions were anything to go by. Of course, typical for Evelyn, her circumstances always loved to throw her for a loop right about the time she thought she had it all figured out- her life was a mystery novel, after all.
There, coming into her frame of vision, was another person. A lanky, brown-eyed, brunette with a melodic voice that pulled her focus like a bowstring and left her staring through the crowd with a surprised expression that would be easily noticed by anyone looking at her. A second protagonist? Naturally, as Evelyn had thought, there was indeed an encounter happening; but the fact it wasn't between herself and the girl was outright world-tilting. In her entire life she'd never met two protagonists at once- not like this, not with this level of significance. What did that mean? She had no idea. The same persistent desire to be recognized in the narrative came back and she crushed it as she picked up her pace to stay close to them. Whatever was about to happen was bound to be big and she didn't want to be late to whatever party destiny was cooking up.

-Well for some reason I had the image of a warehouse blowing up, which then changed to a building around them now. So if it's okay with you two, Evelyn and Dazai working together first to keep the guy from Yukiko? Then, when the guy tosses a grenade in a last ditch effort because he's outnumbered and outclassed by the duo, then SURPRISE! she uses her Gift. Can you guys work okay with that or have other ideas?

Almost run into someone was right, you could repeat that statement sure thing. If it hadn't been for the movement taking it upon itself to cut into her line of vision that was most certainly what would have happened. Yukiko had to slam on the brakes to avoid a collision as it was even with a warning. And this only served to make the girl frustrated to say the least. Why for the love of all things good did she stop? She didn't even take a moment to consider what was going on but reacted just the same to being called. It wasn't like the teen could be sure it was her being addressed either, yet she foolishly halted in her tracks. Halted and then proceeded to turn around to face who'd called after her on top of it all. A tall lanky looking man was walking towards her, he didn't seem dangerous with the lack of mask or gloves as Yukiko was expecting her pursuer to be sporting. Instead this man looked rather normal. Chestnut hair...brown eyes..dressed rather sharp with the addition of a tan trench coat left open about him and- Now this caught the young girl's attention more so then anything else, but the guy's arms were wrapped in white bandages. That was certainly random and quirky. Good thing the orange haired girl was used to quirky or she may have screamed calling this guy a freak or something.

"Yeah sorry about that, didn't mean anything by it and I'll keep that in mind.", said Yukiko taking a step back away from Dazai. She didn't have time to hang around with a stranger and chit chat. This wasn't the one following her, she could still feel she was being trailed, but he could be a second pursuer meant to keep her still. That would give his partner time to catch up or snipe at her. If he wasn't working with the killer, then things were even more problematic. Dazai didn't seem like a threat to her. That option meant he was just another citizen living in the city. He was an innocent. The teen refused to be the reason anyone died needlessly let alone just some citzen living in Yokohama. "Look I really am sorry sir but I have to get going.", Yukiko glanced towards the ground momentarily, "Unfortunetly the family has suffered a recent loss and my dad sent me on an errand. He'll be upset if I don't complete what he asked me to. I don't want to see him disappointed." Yukiko had bearly finished her little lie when a gunshot cracked through the air.
