THE NEW MUTANTS
This will have no dark phoenix spoilers.

Dear mutants,

In a world full of criticism and hatred, you fear for your lives because you're
different. The world and its inhabitants dont take kindly to those who are not
like them; those who hold the power to absolute chaos, or absolute purity. No
one man can change the population, no one man can change the population into
one that is all accepting, accepting of mutants. But maybe many of us can.

That is why I've built a school for all mutants, hoping to teach you and others that
we are not a danger to society. Hoping to teach everyone that when we all work
together, we can truly find peace on this planet.

At a young age, puberty perhaps, you discovered you could do things no one - not
even yourself - could possibly imagine. From incredible speeds to molding yourself
into someone, or something, you're not. I welcome all mutants to my new school
for new mutants. And I hope you take this invitation into consideration. We do not
judge, no matter what power you seem to be in control of. We will take in those
who have no homes, no families. We will be your family now.

Mutant school rules
some are made to be broken heh;3
001. Drugs, alcohol and cigarettes are not permitted on campus,
however there are designated smoking areas!
002. Students may use their special abilities outside of class so
long as there is no ill intent (ex. hurting another student)
003. Male and female students must not share the same room,
any student who identifies as male/female/other may go sleep
in the room they feel most comfortable
004. All students age must be between 17 and 21
005. If a student is conspiring to hurt another student or found
to be conspiring with someone outside of school will immediately
be removed
006. Absolutely no bullying or discrimination at any time,
light teasing and a dislike to a certain person is aloud however
007. Fighting is not permitted on campus but not on campus you
may do whatever you like so long as there is no serious danger to
another student or teacher.
008. Do not show your special abilities to humans who are not
mutants unless you are 100% safe and with another mutant or
are on a mission with good intentions.

You wont often be taking part in classes during this roleplay unless you'd like to (which is totally okay!) This second is for those who want to talk about homework or classes with their friends, teachers or just in general. Each student takes regular studies on weekdays excluding Wednesdays when they must take mandatory mutant studies. On weekends students are free to do whatever they please, however if they wish to study more there will be a set timetable ready for them! If you'd like to roleplay as a teacher, feel free to private message me and we can sort something out! for now, i dont mind roleplaying as any teacher so long as you give me a little heads up!

Kyle sat down on a bench in one of the designated smoking areas. Tuesdays are his least favourite days purely because he hates algebra and other languages, professor Xavier is a good teacher and all, he isn't the problem. The classes are just so boring to him so he chooses not to go, he'd rather have a smoke. He couldn't care less about it raining like hell, he liked the rain. Taking a puff of his cigarette Kyle looked around campus from where he was proudly perched. No sight of anyone so far. He thought they'd either be in class or in their room trying to avoid the rain. Kyle didnt mind being alone, he didnt have to go invisible if there's no one there; he doesnt like to be crowded but he does like to be visible now and again. Although, for once, Kyle was actually in the mood for some company, he pictured what it'd be like to make a new friend who didnt cause him trouble for smoking or not going to class; his old friends used to complain all the time about it even though they wouldn't be the ones getting into trouble. "Maybe it wouldn't hurt to make a new friend." He spoke softly to himself. Maybe.

Adaline paced around campus, not paying much attention to the rain. Classes were starting soon, but it didn't matter much to her. She didn't particularly like Tuesdays; they were mostly classroom work. She wanted to be back in the real world again, getting some real answers about the gap in her memory, not sitting in a chair all day learning about the ten amendments.

Although she had to admit, this school was a nice change of scenery. Adaline couldn't remember the last time she stayed so long in one place. She liked most of the classes, (excluding Band and History) and the people here were nice enough. Not that she had spent a lot of time getting to know them, which was most unlike her. Maybe she just wanted to get settled down first.

Adaline sighed and stopped pacing aimlessly, and decided to head to the smoking grounds. She didn't go there to smoke, but instead to think. It was very peaceful there when students weren't busy inhaling fumes, and she didn't think there would be anyone there now. When Adaline arrived, she spotted a man not much older than her sitting on a bench, smoking. She awkwardly started to leave, but then she stopped herself. She hadn't met many people since Professor Xavier first brought her here, maybe she should start now.

"Hello, I'm Adaline," she introduced herself nervously.

Kyle thought he heard someone walking throughout campus so he glanced around, it was difficult to see with the rain going into his eyes but he managed. Once he saw another person he tried his best to look friendly but she didnt seem to notice him at first, not until she decided to walk closer to the smoking area. Once she came close enough, still without noticing him, he suddenly became shy so he just focused on his cigarette. Of course he wasnt totally oblivious to the fact she was getting closer, but he tried his best to not show the fact he had already noticed her, he's a very observant person after all.
After a few steps they suddenly stopped, he assumed the girl had noticed him and changed her mind about coming over but after a minute or so she spoke up. Kyle was a bit surprised at first, not many people liked to talk to him. Apparently Kyle had an intimidating vibe around him, or whatever. After an awkward minute of silence, he finally gained the courage to look at her properly for the first time since he noticed her and speak up.
"Hi, it's nice to meet you." Another pause, he didnt know how to continue the conversation from there, he doesnt get a lot of time with people considering he's always either stealing snacks from the shops or avoiding people. "Uh, I'm Kyle?" He spoke, it was more of a question than a statement. Kyle rather awkwardly held his hand out for her to shake, not fully knowing how normal people introduce themselves.

Adaline shook Kyle's hand, a bit relieved. It didn't go as bad as she thought it would.

"Well it's very nice to meet you Kyle," she beamed, her extrovert side coming out a bit. Adaline sat down on the bench beside him, feeling a bit more comfortable. The rain didn't bother her that much. She didn't really think of it as dreary like others would. It almost reminded her of a lonely sadness, as if the sky was crying.

"I don't suppose you like Tuesdays that much either," she said, folding her hands. "They're dreadfully boring, don't you think? Sitting around in a classroom all day. Not to mention with our gifts." Adaline opens her left hand and a ball of light emerges from her palm. She moulds it with her fingers to form a horse. Slowly, the horse gets up and becomes animate, trotting in the air until it dissolves in the sky.

"I learnt it from," she frowned. "Well, I'm not very sure where I learnt it from."

Kyle gave Adaline a sweet smile when she took his hand and shook it. 'Finally' he thought, someone who doesnt find him weird for being a little socially awkward. The rain seemed to get heavier but it appeared that Adaline didnt mind, that made him happy. Someone who enjoys the rain like he does. He listened to her talk, ocasionally taking puffs of his cigarette before stumping it out on the ground.
"Nah. Tuesdays are boring, I mean, who likes algebra?" Kyle scoffed in response to her first question. When Adaline showed him her special ability he was shocked, not in a bad way, of course. Kyle has seen so many peoples powers but he'd never witnessed light manipulation. At least that's what he thought she was doing. "That's some pretty sick powers you got there." He spoke, feeling more confident in himself than before. "How come you dont remember where you got em' from? I remember how I got mine. I just started to fade away from reality, heh." He laughed a little at the memory of his parents putting up missing peoples posters around town when he was at home the entire time, just, not visible.
