Diane Lunaroseé ~ Location; Castle ~ Tags; Lumikki
Diane let the slightest of smiles appear on her face as she watched Gideon soak up the attention from her sister. Though he was massive, Gideon was still a huge softie around people he trusted and cared about. He really was a sweet thing. The castle staff had... conflicting accounts of his nature, however. Not that their opinions mattered. “Thank you, Lumi.” She could send him ahead, but perhaps it wasn’t the best idea. Gideon’s presence could alert the guards and make them expect the two princesses ahead of time. The other issue was Yumi. A froslass in and of itself was rare, but a shiny one was almost unheard of. Even if it possibly wouldn’t reveal her identity, the froslass was sure to draw attention to them. “Yes, I do have a cloak somewhere. Permit me to find it in a moment.” She listened to her sister finish speaking before she opened her closet doors and disappeared inside it. After slipping between different dresses, she eventually found a dark blue cloak. Quickly folding it, Diane reappeared of out the closet with the item draped over her arm. She placed it on her bed before turning her attention to her froslass momentarily, removing the orange scarf it was wearing and tying it over the pink stripe and “ribbons” on her body. It was difficult, with what appeared to be the Pokémon’s body being hollow in reality, but she managed. This way the pink was hidden, but now hiding Yumi’s knife wasn’t possible. “Hmm...” The princess eyed the little knife before slipping it behind the charm on her shawl. It was secure and hidden there. “Just for the time being, I’ll keep this here. You’ll get it back, Yumi. I promise.” The froslass was slightly miffed, but she made no protest about it, and the Pokémon moved over to pick up the shawl, unfolding it with slight difficulty. In the meantime, Diane shifted her attention to back to Lumikki. “That’s fine with me. It would be most unfortunate if a hood were to fall off.” Hearing that request, she decided she should do the same with her veil. Both hers and Lumikki’s were unique, and dead giveaways to their identities. The headpieces were more or less synonymous with the royal family, so a hood falling off and revealing the veils would be disastrous, and word would spread fast around the capital. Then their parents would definitely hear about it and they’d be in so much trouble. Not to mention they would get the same irritating lecture from them for the millionth time. Diane slowly lifted the small circlet off of her head and placed it on top of a fake head on a small table. She also removed her earrings and put them next the head. The princess loved both accessories, as they brought to mind the nation’s legendary Pokémon, Lunala, and the veil was somewhat similar to Lumikki’s, making her feel closer to her older sister. “I should have another fake head somewhere in here...” Diane vanished into her walk in closet for a moment, reappearing after a few moments with a second fake head in her hands. She placed it on the table next to the head with her veil on it. In the meantime, Yumi had managed to unfold the hood and was holding it by the shoulders with her tiny hands. The ghost type was scrutinizing the shawl as was deciding if she thought the item was distasteful or not. She made a motion reminiscent of a shrug(it wasn’t like she had shoulders, despite how the appendages dangling from her head resembled arms) and draped the cloak over her owner’s shoulders, also placing the hood over Diane’s head as well. “Thank you, Yumi.” The froslass hovered on the spot until Diane had buttoned up the hood concealing her dress, only moving when the princess was done with it and taking her usual place on Diane’s left shoulder, hands folded together in her lap. “There’s only the problem with Gideon. The majority of the staff and guards in the castle know him.” The large Pokémon was impossible to miss. One would have to be completely blind not to notice him. But perhaps, she could use her reputation to her advantage. She had never thought of using that to get out before because she simply had no desire to go out of the castle-let alone leave her room-much of the time.
“But perhaps... we don’t need to worry about the castle guards telling and Gideon.” Diane had spent years building up a particular reputation among the castle staff. It was safe to say everyone was absolutely terrified of her. Perhaps she could use that fear to her get out of the castle. Sneaking out might not be necessary. She could just walk out the front gate, and the guards could be convinced to keep quiet and then escort them out. “There might be no need to sneak out or require an excuse. We could just pass right through the gate. I’m sure the guards would keep quiet, with a little... persuasion.” Diane twirled a wavy strand of her hair around one of her gloved fingers, her tone making it obvious that she was referring to something else other than persuasion. “Wouldn’t matter if they know who we are or if we don’t have a reason. If I tell them what fate would befall them should they choose to inform Father and Mother, I think they’ll be happy to keep our little excursion a secret.” A slight wicked smirk appeared on her face for a moment. “Not only that, but they’d be more than willing to escort us. Gideon wouldn’t be a problem.” As a child, she’d never have thought all her “work” would pay off and she would be feared by the staff and knights. But she quickly learned it didn’t hurt to have a giant dinosaur and a Pokémon with a terrifying reputation with her. “Speaking of... I should go fetch Gideon before he before he wanders off too far. Feel free to leave your veil on that head in the meantime.” Diane nodded at her sister before walking out her door and peering down the hall. Gideon was a little further down the hall, but she didn’t call out to him, instead running up to-or at least moving as fast as her dress and cloak would allow her-to the dinosaur. “Gideon.” Her voice was devoid of any emotion as she spoke, but she still stroked the dinosaur gently when he’s reached him. “We’re going together, Gideon. Could you wait for Lumi and her Pokémon, please?” The dinosaur’s sails changed to a faint shade of green, making a soft rumbling sound. As soon as his owner had turned around and headed back to her room and Lumikki, Gideon followed behind her at a relaxed pace, shaking the castle with every step. Chandeliers, wall ornaments and objects on tables all trembled visibly as well. Diane was grateful for the strong construction of the castle at times like this. She didn’t doubt that Gideon was heavy enough to put a hole through a floor, and he’d probably get injured if it ever happened. It was fun walking with Gideon around the castle though. No one dared to speak to her while the giant dinosaur was following behind her. “Sister, if you’re ready, we can go.” Diane stroked the dinosaur’s head, being careful to avoid the pale blue crystal on his forehead. She could feel the freezing cold radiating off the gem, and a little bit of frost had already coated her glove. “Perhaps we could ride on Gideon once we’re out of the castle, and he could take us to the city. What do you think, boy?” His sails turned many different vibrant shades of green at a rapid rate, and he let out an eager cry, making Diane cover her ears when it reached its highest pitch. “Very well. I would say that is a yes.”
