It looked pretty legit, Reese had to say that much. But with how things were these days, you could hardly tell a forged item from a real one. Anything could be faked or manipulated. Reese knew to not trust things at face value.
“What’s that piddly scrap of metal supposed to show me, huh? Looks like a neat craft project. Are you proud of it? You gonna hang it on your fridge when you get back home?” His voice took a mocking sing-song tone towards the end of his sentences.
“How am I supposed to believe anything you say? You could be lying through your teeth. Show me real proof - definitive proof, something more than your little toy. And maybe, just maybe - I’ll believe you.”
And if this guy really was an agent, his behaviour would be more than detrimental to his status within the splatoon. Reese would personally make sure of that.
