It has been three years since Agent 4 defeated DJ Octavio, just as Agent 3 had done before. Ever since, the times we are in are known as The Great Peace. The Octarians and Inklings have rekindled their friendship from before the Big Splash that drove them to the territorial wars that broke them apart. However, a splinter cell of the Octarians has defected, as they do not approve of The Great Peace. Deep in Octo Gorge, they are searching for something. The Lost City of Splatlantis, only spoken of in childhood stories, the SOS, also known as the Splinter Octo Squadren seem to believe that it truly exists, and that the lost city's technology can help them defeat the Squidbeak Splatoon. What will happen if the Octarians are right? And for now, very few people even know the Octarians are still at it, since the Great Peace has put it in many minds that the war is over. As Inklings and Octarians enjoy friendly Turf Wars, the Squidbeak Splatoon prepare themselves.

Unique Features

New Stages

➳Amberjack Amusement Park
➳➳This amusement park is home to the famous Inkopolis Ferris Wheel, where all the Turf War action takes place. This map is a pretty wide open one, akin to Blackbelly Skatepark. The main attraction of the map is the rotating stadium in the middle, where some tricky fights happen. There are also various smaller attractions throughout the map, as well as some stalls.

➳Barracuda Boardwalk
➳➳Barracuda Boardwalk takes place on a boardwalk by the beach. It's a mostly straight map, with a large section jutting out over the ocean. This section has many grated areas for Inklings to fall through if they're not wary. Throughout the map are various surfboards to act as cover, as well as umbrellas with steps made of cooler boxes. These umbrellas cannot be inked, but can act as good vantage points for Chargers.

➳Freshwater Car Wash
➳➳Freshwater Car Wash marks the introduction of Ink Tubes and Ink Pistons to multiplayer. The main area of this map is in the center, where various cars are waiting to be washed. If you want to play it strategically, you can flank the sides, and activate the Ink Pistons. This will cause an Ink Tube of your colour to poke out of the central area, splatting any enemies who come in contact with it, and inking a bit of turf!

➳Humboldt Street
➳➳Humboldt Street is one of Inkopolis's main streets, but it's been closed off for Turf War matches. The map is sort of shaped like a lightning bolt, with a few side streets and alleys. Along the stage are various fire hydrants which, when inked, will spray your ink colour. There are also a few parked cars, which can act as good cover. There are also many fire escapes to hide on, and a few rooftops to ink.

➳Marlin Railway
➳➳Taking place just out back of the Deca Subway Station, Marlin Railway is a vertically mirrored map, like Saltspray Rig. Both teams start at opposite ends of a set of train tracks, connected by ramps, bridges, and inkrails alike. You can ink inside of and on top of train cars, both of which count toward the ink total. The main attraction of the map is the large bridge at the top, with entrances from both sides. This is where the fiercest battles happen, as it gives an excellent vantage point and covers a large bit of turf.

➳Ostracod Tunnels
➳➳These tunnels were only recently excavated, and just happened to be perfectly symmetrical! This stage is home to many tricky ledges, but its main feature is the chasm in the middle of the map, separating the two halves. The main way across this chasm is by using one of the two bridges, though there are ledges on either side that will allow you to cross the gap, as well as a few areas where a skilled Squid Jump will get you across.

➳Pufferfish Park
➳➳Pufferfish Park is Inkopolis's very own park. It's got some gorgeous flowers growing, so Inklings aren't allowed on the grass. The map is circular, with various pathways heading toward a pond in the center. The main pathways on either side of the map are on bridges over a river, which appears frequently again throughout the map. Some areas require you to Squid Jump to get over the river.

New Ranked Modes

Inkball
A massive marble spawns in the middle of the map, as well as two goal posts. Your goal in Inkball is to get the Inkball into the enemy goal. The Inkball can only be moved by attacking it, and will be propelled in the direction it was hit. If it's got enough momentum, the Inkball can splat any Inklings who get in the way.

Paint Beacons
Several Paint Beacons will spawn around the map, always in odd numbers. The goal is to light up as many Paint Beacons as possible, and get a Knockout if you light them all up. Paint Beacons are lit by bursting the bubble on top of the beacon, which are significantly weaker than a Rainmaker bubble.

Custom Weapon Sets

There are two types of weapon sets, premade ones, which have a specific Sub and Special with the main, and custom sets. In order to make custom sets, you'll need to buy a sub chip and a special chip, which can be placed into a main weapon in order to give said Main weapon the corresponding Sub and Special. However, main weapons have a max of 300 memory points, and each sub chip and special chip has a certain amount of memory points. The sub and special together can not exceed the limit of 300 memory points on the chosen main.

Returning Special Weapons

As you may know, with the release of Splatoon 2, all the special weapons from Splatoon were removed and replaced with new special weapons. Now, all the special weapons from Splatoon have been reinstated. If you did not play Splatoon, the special weapons that are returning are the Bubbler, Echolocator, Inkstrike, Inkzooka, Killer Wail, and Kraken. The Bomb Rush special weapon is not returning, since the Bomb Launcher is an upgraded version that allows you to use a different bomb than your chosen sub weapon. The reason Bubbler has returned is because Ink Armor has some distinct differences from Bubbler.

New Weapon Types

➳Bubble Spray
➳➳Bubble Spray weapons shoot flurries of small bubbles. These will float around, dropping ink, until they pop, spreading a bit more ink. They're normally pretty weak, but open up new strategies for inking. By tapping the trigger repeatedly, you can shoot one large bubble similar to a Bubble Blower, which will spread more ink and is a lot more powerful. Not to mention, your teammates can shoot this bubble!

➳Bumpers
➳➳Bumper weapons shoot large marbles that spread ink as they roll - about waist height. They roll a good distance before exploding with a very small blast radius. Being rolled over by a marble is near fatal, but it's an instant splat if you're hit at the start of its roll. Bumpers typically have slow fire rate, and use up a lot of ink.

➳Stamps
➳➳Stamps are, in essence, stationary Rollers. They're large hammers with stamps on the end. Stamps are swung like hammers onto the ground, inking that area. Just one hit from most Stamps is enough to splat an opponent.

New Sub Weapons

➳Barnabuckle
➳➳The Barnabuckle is thrown in the direction you're aiming. If you've aimed correctly, you can hook onto a faraway wall and propel yourself toward it! Only works on walls or ground higher than you. If it misses, it'll leave a small puddle of ink, and takes a short bit to drag back.

➳Drizzle Disk
➳➳The Drizzle Disk is thrown in a given direction, and isn't affected much by gravity. As it flies, it will spread ink similarly to a Sprinkler.

➳Mini Maws
➳➳Mini-Maws Placing a Mini-Maws down will create a trap for any enemy squid who passes over it. The robotic Mini-Maws will chomp down on an unfortunate squid, instantly splatting them.

➳Squee-B
➳➳Replacing the Curling Bomb, the Squee-B will charge forward and eat up enemy ink. Once it reaches a certain distance, it will explode. The explosion will be bigger if the Squee-B absorbs more ink.

➳Spray Can
➳➳The Spray Can allows you to spray a cloud of ink, acting as a mini Ink Storm and slowing down any enemies who step into the cloud.

New Special Weapons

Barrier Reef
Upon activation, each active member of your team will gain a Brella-like shield, protecting them from attacks from the front. This shield resembles seaweed with several small fish swimming around the player.

Fountain Pen
A large fountain pen-like spear that you throw. When it hits the ground, it will erupt into a massive fountain of ink.

Inksploder
You equip a massive firework launcher and shoot some inksplosions, essentially acting as a "super blaster".

Mist Bomb
This Super Weapon is thrown to create a fog of ink in that general direction. This mist will ink ground similarly to the Ink Storm and will gradually damage enemies in the mist, but will only appear on the lower areas of the map.

Paint Squirter
You equip a large weapon reminiscent of a flamethrower and a paint tube, and shoot a beam of ink.

Squee-Z
This summons a massive Industrial Squee-Z, which you will automatically ride. The Squee-Z spreads ink as it moves, and can roll over enemies. You can still be splatted on top of the Squee-Z.

Tsunamink
Tsunamink This Super Weapon allows you to summon a wave of ink that will splat any foes caught in it.

New Boss Salmonids

Angler
Angler is a Boss Salmonid that hides inside ink. The only exposed part of the Angler is a bulb shaped like a Golden Egg that peeps out over the ink. This bulb tricks Inklings into coming close, before the Angler swallows them whole. Similarly to Maws, the best way to defeat this Boss Salmonid is by feeding it a bomb.

Bub
Bub is a Boss Salmonid who really doesn't know what he's doing. He blows large bubbles of ink from his Bubble Blower, and can be defeated by splatting one of his bubbles near him.

Flingfish
Flingfish are a rare Boss Salmonid. It's a Salmonid riding a makeshift catapult - launching Burst Bombs with a large spoon. Rarely, a Flingfish might launch a group of Chums from its catapult. A Flingfish can be defeated by throwing a bomb onto its catapult.

Rippler
Inspired by Stamps, Fountain Pens and Paint Squirters, this Salmonid travels around in a heavily enclosed vehicle. Once he's close enough, he'll launch a Stamp-like projectile from the top of his vehicle, exposing his head for splatting. After reaching its maximum height, the Stamp will fall back down onto the Rippler's vehicle, once again protecting him, and releasing a large ripple of ink.

Salmonscope
This flying Salmonid holds a makeshift Inksploder, and will lock onto GrizzCo. employees, indicated with a golden ring. Once locked on, he'll fire an explosive marble at you. The only way to defeat this Boss Salmonid is by firing those marbles right back!

Smokey
By far the quickest Salmonid. Smokeys ride around on unicycles, spitting out ink in mist form. It's easy to get overwhelmed by the mist, so Smokeys are rather high priority if you want to keep things visible. Once you get close, a Smokey will release a large puff of smoke in an attempt to protect itself.

Spritzer
Spritzers are Boss Salmonids who wear odd helicopter helmets that allow them to fly. As they fly around, they will spray ink like a Sprinkler. They can be easily splatted, but are pretty quick and have a decent bit of health.

Trundle
A Trundle is a Smallfry rolling around the map on top of a Baller. It leaves a trail of ink as it rolls, squishing Inklings as it goes. They can be defeated by splatting the Smallfry on top of the Baller, but it's difficult to hit due to its small size.

Re: The Lost City of Splatlantis (Open and Accepting)

Caelan is an Octoling boy with five yellow tentacles with blue rings styled in a mohawk. When he is in Octo Gorge fighting the SOS, he wears a shirt with on long sleeve the left side that is sleeveless on the right. While he is in public, he wears a Skull Bandana and a Navy Eminence Jacket.

Name: Caelan
Aliases: Agent 8, Applicant 10,008(briefly)
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Species: Octoling

Personality: Caelan is a quiet person, who doesn't talk much, and prefers to settle things with action more than words. However, he knows when things call for diplomacy instead of violence. His loyalty to the Squidbeak Splatoon is undying, and comes before his loyalty to DJ Octavio. However, if the DJ requests his help in a matter, he's expected to help, and normally will unless it goes against his principles or his pride as a member of the Squidbeak Splatoon.

History: Caelan was at the final battle between Agent 3 and DJ Octavio. When he heard the Squid Sisters singing to help Agent 3, something in him changed, he felt different and less violent. He ended up in the Deepsea Metro along with Cap'n Cuttlefish and while he was trying to find his way out, he collected many memory cakes. When he escaped the metro, he was faced against a brainwashed Agent 3, and then a giant statue of a human that was going to destroy Inkopolis. He was able to stop the destruction, and afterwards settled down in Inkopolis Square. After the news of DJ Octavio's defeat and reformation at the hands of Agent 4, he met up with the Squidpeak Splatoon and became an official member. When the SOS became a thing, DJ Octavio requested that Caelan keep him in the loop about the progress. Caelan suggested that he act as a spy in the SOS, but Cap'n Cuttlefish deemed the idea too risky.

Main Weapon: Inkbrush Nouveau in public, Herobrush in Octo Gorge
Sub Weapon: Mini-Maws
Special Weapon: Squee-Z

Likes: Turf Wars, Helping People, Riding Squee-Z
Dislikes: The SOS, Senseless Violence and Destruction, Clam Blitz
Fears: DJ Octavio relapsing to a villain

    ➳eyes; orange
    ➳skin tone; chocolate brown
    ➳build; moderately toned
    ➳height; 5'4
    ➳weight; 114 lbs

    ➳tower control rank; s+4
    ➳rainmaker rank; s+9
    ➳splat zones rank; x
    ➳clam blitz rank; s+0

➳personality; cool and confident, trinity is a force to be reckoned with. she is a brave and strong inkling that seems to have no fear in the world or at least that is what she makes it out to be. she is a true competitor, often being apart of any and all the different battle types in inkopolis. however, this competitive spirit she holds makes her quite the sore loser. she becomes absolutely sour after a loss and often is a bad sport about it. this makes her a bit pouty, but she is quite easy to calm down in the end. even with these flaws, trinity is a kind, friendly inkling who is willing to help others out whenever she can. when she puts her minds to something she will keep to it until its done, even when all the odds seem against her. when failing time after time, she can easily become frustrated, but she does her best to keep fighting through it. trinity is also noted to be quite sporty and enjoys the outdoors. she is rambunctious and loud outside of battles, but calm and collected when she's got her splatterscope in hand. most would describe her as the jock type because of her nature and that isn't too far off though she isn't the "dumb jock" like some might think. she may not be the smartest inkling around, but she always puts forth her best effort. when she feels she has given less than that she may breakdown. she can be quite emotional at times.

➳history; born outside the city, trinity spent a lot of her childhood from the outside of all the buzz like most young inklings are. she was allowed to watch the battles on tv when they were broadcasted. this is what got her interested in the various different battles that took place. while she was still growing up, she often would run around her yard trying to mimic the moves of the inklings she had seen on tv and practice, even though she didn't have her own weapon just yet. when she came of age, her parents let her go to the city where she met sheldon and learned about the many types of weapons he had to offer. like all starting inklings she was given the starter gun and he explained to her that battling would earn her money and she could upgrade to different weapons. eventually, she switched to the splatterscope and made it her main weapon. now in her mid-teens, she has formed her own inkling team that competes in turf war, splatzone, rainmaker, clam blitz and tower control together. she is almost always competing and proving herself. a few years back she encountered capt'n cuttlefish and joined the squidbeak splatoon as agent 3. during this time she took up using the hero shot and became quite skilled with it as she took on the octarian army and defeated dj octavio to return to the great zapfish to the city. she would eventually end up in the deepsea metro where she sought to find an escape, but had no luck. eventually she was brainwashed and fought against agent 8 only to be knocked out when the world was in danger. to this day she still heavily blames herself for being careless during that time. she would however return to the squidbeak splatoon in her spare time to do any work that needed to be done, but this time with the hero charger at her side rather than the hero shot. since then she has also picked up a part time job with mr. grizz doing salmon runs despite it being dangerous. she finds it a great way to hone her skills

    ➳other; art by hachi

    AGENT FOUR
    xReal name: Marissa
    xNicknames: Four (preferred), Maris, 'Ris
    xOther aliases: 4_REAL (chatroom)
    xGender: Female
    xAge: 17
    xSpecies: Inkling
    xWeapon: Dapple Dualies (customized) in
xpublic, Hero Dualies (customized) on duty
xxx- sub: barnabuckle, special: booyah bomb
    xx
    TRIVIA
x- Official art (I know it shows the hero shot but let's
x- just pretend it's the hero dualies)
x- Stay Fresh and Off the Hook!
x- X rank in clam blitz and splat zones
x- S in rainmaker, S+2 in tower control
x- Fav gear abilities: Special power up and run speed up
x- Casual wear: King Flip Mesh, White King Tank,
x- Mint Dakroniks (basically the girl on the box art's
    x- clothing)

    HISTORY
All 'Ris has known is the urban life. Sure, she's traveled to the outskirts on some occasions, but she's mostly been surrounded by skyscrapers and bright screens. As a young kid, her life revolved around the latest battles. All she wanted to do was become a professional in that field. Looking back on it, she did sort of get her wish-- being an agent was like fighting in a giant turf war, right? Yeah. Well, all she really cared about was the battles, not so much the music. So when she was fourteen and her parents first let her really explore the heart of the city on her own, she followed this really cool lookin' girl who was apparently Marie from the Squid Sisters... and also Agent 2 of the New Squidbeak Splatoon. Marissa had no idea who she was before then. Music wasn't really her thing. But Marie wrapped her up in this hero business, and from then on, 'Ris was known as Agent Four, a name she takes great pride in. Being an agent, fighting for something bigger than herself... it makes her feel proud. Important. Not just another face in the crowd. Even if all of Inkopolis (save for the rest of the New Squidbeak Splatoon) had no idea who saved the Great Zapfish the second time, she still felt special. Now, Marissa spends most of her time battling it out in turf war or ranked modes. She always makes it a habit to stop by Octo Canyon and chat with Agents One and Two, even if there is no mission to act on.

    PERSONALITY
Maybe yellow is her color for a reason-- Four would describe herself as the optimist, the one to see the light and fun in every battle... but most would just call that being reckless. 'Ris would agree. For most battles she's like that, anyway. To be honest, she doesn't take anything as seriously as she should. One of her main flaws is that she thinks the New Squidbeak Splatoon is invincible; they're the good guys, they can't die because they always win in the end. There was one time when reality struck her: during the fight with DJ Octavio and Callie. She was practically shaking in her gear. She couldn't remember how to use her weapons, and she wanted to superjump home, right then and there. In the end, she made it through. She's still carefree with her fighting, but secretly dreads another battle like that final one. Inside and outside of battles and missions, this inkling is super chatty. In the chatroom, she'll send line after line with a couple of words each instead of just sending it all as a paragraph. She's constantly talking during missions. During turf wars, there's not a second that goes by without a roll and a booyah! She might run in without thinking, but she has a lot of respect for the other agents (even if she doesn't really show it most of the time). Her pride and loyalty in the Squidbeak Splatoon knows no bounds. She especially looks up to Agents One, Two, and Three, and seeks their approval and praise constantly.
