Xara was indeed disappointed. As night fell, she stood on the tallest building she could find, her empty eyes whipping back and forth between the people below. The Lorien she'd found before was not Number One. But, she would go back for him later. After fleeing the park, Xara had heard rumors of strange activity in this "Michigan". The places on this planet had such strange names.
Perhaps it was a Lorien child. But what if it wasn't the first? She'd have to abandon the scene again. But then, she came up with an idea. Surely the other Lorien children would hear about the strange teleporting girl and of the "attempted murder" in the park. The Nine would surely band together for safety . . . to fight for survival. The boy from before was a good place to start.
"He will search for the others. They all will. And he will lead me to the first."

"That's good." Haruko was relieved at this--knowing of course that she was done listening. For now, Kitty was still safe. But she suddenly spaced out, saying that someone was coming. It was then that Haruko felt it too. It wasn't a Mogadorian.
Without another moment's hesitation, Haruko walked outside to see who this visitor was. The car wasn't on, but there was a boy sitting in it. Upon seeing him, Haruko sensed it was another Lorien. He motioned for him to come inside. It was about time they gathered together anyway. They would need all the help they could get to survive this war.

At the sound of the door being opened, Otah leaped down from Ryo's lap, welcoming Snow, his Cepan. Though Ryo could tell Snow was upset, he didn't point it out. Instead he smiled at her, hoping to drive out whatever horrible thoughts were in her head. "Do not be sorry. All was fine here, though Otah was upset she didn't get to go outside today."
Walking into the kitchen, Ryo poured Snow a glass of water. He'd seen humans give drinks to other humans when they were sad. Maybe it would work. "I'm afraid we'll have to continue training much sooner than I would like. There was a girl in Michigan who witnesses claim came out of nowhere. And just now, they reported that a boy was attacked by a girl with a scythe, but the girl didn't harm him, and then she vanished mysteriously. And they will soon come for me."
But Ryo wasn't one to dwell on the negative. "But why don't we try to find the others? Being together is much safer than being alone."
