"Good," she sighed. "I suppose you won't want me to stay?"

"For what?" he asked her. Oh, great, he thought. I'm in this too deep. I can't afford to care about her this much... I can't.

"I don't know," he muttered, almost too quietly for her to hear. He grabbed the dagger and stuffed the hilt in his back pocket, blade facing out so that it couldn't stab him.

Erik looked at her, "And why do you suppose that?"

Aurora looked at him, "They will kill you when they find out, wont they?"

Melanie didn't know what to say and just held on to Ian.She hoped they were almost there, everything hurt it it was slowly becoming unbearable. She felt the bounce in his step and it was comforting to her at the moment, glad to know he was ok for the most part.

(((Sounds good... I'll try...)))

"This is my fault," she said simply, standing.

His brow furrowed as he contemplated weather or not telling her the trueth was the way to go or not. Slowly, he nodded. "But they aren't going to find out. I don't have to go back to them, and I won't."

Ian had to pay attention to the trees around him as he made his way through the thick and tangled underbrush. He entered a cave, and ran a mile into it before he stopped. "Allow me to pass, Joe," he said into the darkness. The earth infront of him seemed to giveway, as a great door opened, revealing a 'basement' under his feet. He jogged down the steep stairs, and then stood facing a very mad-looking father. "She's wounded." he said simply, his face a blank sheet.

"Its not your fault, I trusted you, you trusted me. No ones fault." Erik said.

Aurora looked at him, "Will it be that simple?"

"Ian-," his father started. "You've brought an outsider to our home!" Not a single one of the 13 Chasseures in the room wore an expression other than outrage, indignation, distrust, concern, violence, or possibly some combination of them.

"She is wounded, and you can save her, Father," he said, still wearing a blank mask. He regained his balance after one of the men punched him, not taking his eyes off of his father as he swallowed the blood comming from the inside of his cheek.

"Ian, you know the penalty-"

"Will you at least save her?" he asked his father, his eyes boring into the older eyes of his dad. "I know my punnishment, and I will accept it. But please save her."

"Take the girl to the hospital," his father told one of the men there. Ian handed her to the man, staring strait into his eyes.

"Probably not," he sighed.

"If you hadn't met me, you wouldn't have been able to trust me, and visa versa," she said.

Mel looked up at Ian,wincing when he was punched. When she felt the new man take hold of her she thrashed her legs and arms, hoping she had managed to hurt him in some way."Ian?!'She whimpered, stretching out to try and catch his arm.She looked around the room a little surprised about how many chasseures where there.

Aurora sighed softly, "Can they tell just by looking at you?"

"I think it was worth it." Erik replied.

The man grimaced as she kicked him. He growled and dropped her. He turned and threw another punch at Ian, crushing two of his ribs, and sending him staggering backwards, away from Mel.

Ian growled, he slammed his fist into the man, smashing his nose and knocking him to the floor, where he stayed. "I only asked that she be taken care of, and this is what happens?"

"I would have struggled as well if I'd been in her possition," his father said, silencing the shrieking crowd. "When she is out of the room, your sentence shall be reduced, due to failure to fufill your final wish." Another group of shouts rose from the crowd, though he silenced them with a flip of his hand.

Ian was kneeling by Mel, picking her up again and looking at her face, clear anguish for her suffering in his eyes.

"Naw, it's the feeling... I don't smell right, I don't act right, I don't move right, I seem different," he listed. "Any one of those would give me away."

"Why?" she asked him.
