the last of the ghouls have been on the run from the ccg for the past month,
each with a huge bounty on of their heads.
hunting ghouls have now been easier with the help of improved technology and because of the push from ccg,
there are even more brave citizens out to hunt them down.
a small group of ghouls of all ages is what is left of the sudden wave of extermination.
the group is made out of the strongest of ghouls as they are most likely the last ghouls in tokyo.
they must try and keep the rest of the ghoul population alive while fighting back.

ukaku
- released from the shoulder area
- specializes in high speed attacks, gives user enhanced speed
- lightweight
- can be crystallized to release a high speed of projectiles
^ kagune becomes stiffer and cannot be used for short range combat
- suited both for short and long range, short range is their weakness
- can be used as a shield as they are very flexible

- high stamina drain, users lack endurance
- effective against: bikaku
- weak against: kokaku

kokaku
- released from below the shoulder blade
- specializes in defence
- heavy and sturdy
- can be shaped like close range weapons

- slowest of all kagune as it is the most difficult to wield

- specializes in striking power and brute strength
- wielder has powerful regenerative abilities
- some users can manipulate the shape

misa knew she was breaking a rule of the group, she was supposed to go outside with someone for safety reasons but she didn't want to bother others for such a short trip. the ghoul pulled her hood over her pale coloured hair and grabbed a few cans of coffee powder from the shelves. she was at an old convenience store buying some coffee to stock away in case of emergency and they can't go outside to hunt. misa brought her small pile of cans to the check out counter and quickly paid the old man at the cashier, who probably thinks she is another tired student in need of caffeine. she gave the man a small smile and dumped the cans into her bag, she must act like a normal human and not like an overly cautious ghoul. misa made sure to double check her pace so she doesn't look like she was a thief or something when she left the store, just in case the man was suspicious of her. just in case. the ghoul clutched the bag tightly to her uniform and headed back to the apartment.

if humans can smell fear and nervousness, they would die from walking next to her. she was terrified every time she had to go out in public because of how doves could be walking alongside her. misa sped up a bit as she recognized the familiar shady road that led to the building they were hiding in. the female's heartbeat sped up as she saw a poster that encouraged people to call the ccg if they spotted a ghoul or suspicious of someone. misa dashed into her entrance of the building and up the stairs to the fourth floor, where the group was hiding away in. she quickly unlocked the rusty iron door and slammed it close behind her as soon as she entered. although their living conditions weren't great, it provided them with shelter and food. misa though that they would fit in just fine as everyone in the area seemed shady and suspicious (except for a handful of people). she quickly tossed away her jacket and headed to the kitchen to pack away the coffee cans.

yukio sighed and slammed shut his notebook in frustration. he didn't want to study anymore. "damnit! i hate you school!" he shouted at his books in anger. the ghoul stood up right away and stormed out of his small room into the living room. yukio had recently moved in a small apartment away from the centre of traffic and hoped to find a decent place to hide from the ccg while continuing his studies. he sat down on his small couch and turned on the tv hoping to find something that can cheer him up. flipping through the boring news channels the old tv had offered, he stopped on an animation channel. yukio's face lit up with joy as he saw that his favourite anime was airing, great timing! before he could settle into his couch comfortably and watch the anime peacefully, it ended. yukio instantly cursed in frustration and collapsed lifelessly onto the couch once again. he reached for the remote control and was about to turn it off when he heard someone says ghoul sighting. yukio immediately tensed up and sat up slowly facing the tv with interest. the reporter went on to talk with an analyst about whether or not that there are still plenty of ghouls in hiding or most of them are dead. "we can see from the recent news that there has been a mass, uh, capture of the ghouls that are showing signs and intentions of harming the citizens. the team concluded that there are still ghouls out there hiding from us, so we advise them to turn themselves in before an operation has to take place." yukio immediately turned off the tv and closed his eyes.

Michiko was out shopping for coffee. She spotted an old store nearby and headed in. She didn't usually go to this store, but her favorite store was closed for the day. She restocked on her favorite brand of coffee. After counting the money she brought with her to make sure she had enough she also grabbed some snacks. She couldn't eat them, but it would make her seem more humane. As she lined up to pay she looked around at the customers. She thought she smelled ghoul, but she couldn't determine where. It's been ages since she'd seen another ghoul. Her eyes lingered on a hooded figure before it was her turn to pay. Later as she was slowly walking back to her apartment she saw the same person again. She saw its face as it ran past. She was a very pale girl. She watched her practically run to the apartment. Either she had severe social anxiety or... Weird, had there been ghouls in my apartment and I didn't even realize? Then again my apartment looks the part for shady business and people. She walked up to her room and unlocked the door. She dropped her shopping bag on the floor and turned around to lock the door. Then she picked up her bags and headed to the window. The window was her escape route thought she had never tried to open it before. Worst comes to worst she would punch it open. She preferred physical attacks rather than using her kagune as her kagune took up massive amounts of space. She stopped that train of thought. She placed her newly bought coffee on top her mini-fridge underneath the window. She sat down on her bed frowning. She could practically sense the tension in the air. Something major was going to happen soon. And she wouldn't like it.

haru had come back from grocery shopping with the little to no money she had left. she had chosen the smallest and shadiest apartment due to its cheap price, although she didn't quite mind. on her doorstep was a small newspaper, picking it up she read the words printed onto the paper carefully. she had noticed the amount of ghouls had slowly decreased which was a good thing to humans- haru had personally never encountered a ghoul so she couldn't say much about the situation. grabbing her hair tie, she tied her ridiculously long hair into a pony tail. the heat was starting to get to her. staring off into the distance, she remembered a group of large males with long white coats and gloves interrogating some citizens. she heard they were investigators. "man, i wonder if ghouls live around here- probably not." she muttered, patting her face. a large percent of the population had grown a fear of ghouls- they had the right to, they were powerful human-eating monsters. "i'm hungry!" she whined, she had plans on making some cooked fish, toasted bread spread with jelly paired with coffee. shaking her head. i'll stay out here for a little while longer. she thought, shoving her small hands into the pockets on her over-sized sweater that had completely covered the shorts she was wearing.

indent haru had taken one of the small apartments on the fourth floor. a few people lived on the floor- they didn't really speak or leave much. she made sure to check up on nearly every neighbor on the fourth and third floor. she liked making sure they were safe and if they needed something they could ask her anytime. deciding it was her time to head inside, she opened the door and closed it as she entered.

yukio opened his eyes a few moments later when he calmed down more and sat back up, he had to do his homework either way right? he got up from the couch and went back to the room to collect his homework. yukio stared at the question sheet with confusion as he tried to figure out the answer once again, but he just couldn't. he didn't understand any of his social studies homework. yukio set the paper back down and stared out his small window trying to think of a way to find the answer. he could use his old laptop but the internet was currently filled with toxic posts about ghouls and other issues he wanted to avoid. perhaps he could go downstairs and find that other girl that lived here? yukio was surprised by her friendliness the other day and wrote down her room number just in case he needed any help. he searched through the piles of paper on his desk and found a few numbers that were hastily scribbled down on a sticky note. yukio immediately stuffed his homework that he had been struggling on for the past hour into his backpack and grabbed the sticky note on his way out of the room. within a few moments, he closed his front door and stepped into the dark hallway.

yukio clutched the sticky note tightly and took the stairs to go down to the fourth floor of the building. the ghoul's eyes were slow to adjust to the dim light as he hopped down the stairs, he was afraid of the dark. especially in this apartment. yukio was actually more afraid of the things in the dark. a dove could have been standing in the shadows of the stairs and suddenly ambush him from where he least expects it. yukio shudder in fear and stop zipping down the stairs in fear when he reached the fourth floor. he glanced at the sticky note again and quietly muttered the older girl's room number under his breath. as he made his way down the hallway, he passed by a female who rushed into her room. yukio looked back behind his shoulder as he thought he had smelled a faint scent of a ghoul. he blinked in confusion but he arrived at the girl's door and let out a breath. he should knock... and then what? say, 'hi, i came because i need help with homework?' yukio shook his head from that thought and knocked on the door.

it took a while for her to set up her coffee. slipping in a small bit of sugar, she dipped it into the coffee and set it onto her small tiny table. the girl let out a small sigh of relief as she turned on her small TV to the news. a small look of distaste appeared as the news came on. people had grown to fear ghouls. but were they something to really be afraid of? she huffed as she switched the channel. haru was about to take a seat before she had heard a small gentle knock on the door. she rarely had visitors around this time of day. usually, neighbors came around near the early morning or night. walking towards the door haru stood on the tip of her toes to try and reach the peephole- it wasn't much use unfortunately. deciding to open the door, haru craned her neck upwards to reveal the boy she had talked to a while back. it was a nice small talk, she liked making sure he was okay.

indent yukio was rather tall for his age, haru assumed to be around 15- or maybe she just needed to grow a few inches. haru's eyes instantly brightened. "ah, hello! i wasn't expecting anyone right now. but i did make some coffee if you wanted some? or maybe your hungry.." she murmured the last part. haru's bad habit was to ramble on about the topic and then transitioning into a completely different topic. "well i haven't made any food yet, but if you want i can serve you some coffee?" she asked, tilting her head sideways slightly. moving aside, "come in! my home is your home!" she chimed happily. "sorry if it's a little messy, i haven't had the time to really clean." she muttered sheepishly, scratching her cheek in an embarrassed manner. "hey, i never really got your name when i ran into you." she said, looking back at the younger boy with curious eyes. "i'm imai haru," she said sending him a welcoming smile.
