Megan stood up, letting the bandage fall to the ground. She opened her eyes and glanced at the wound. Megan winced, taking her eyes off her thigh. "Do you have to?" she asked, turning towards Alex. The thought of going through all that pain made her feel sick.

[Midnight Butterfly]

"Yeah... It'll be even more painful if it gets infected." Alex said, pointing out the obvious before picking up the snow white bandages from the table.

Megan took a few steps back in an attempt to hide somewhere. But she couldn't, not now that her wound was open into the air. Her back hit the wall, and she pressed herself against it, having nowhere else to go.

Alex looked apologetically at her before starting to bandage her thigh up as quickly as he could. She had nowhere to go with him in front of her and the wall behind her. She finished soon after, pulling back and away from her.

Megan stood there, paralized with fear. She bit down on her lip as the soft material touched her wound. It hurts... She didn't scream, just watched with her eyes wide open. Once Alex was finshed, she took another step back, as if she wanted to blend in with the paint on the wall.

Alex sat back down on the bed, looking at her. "What's wrong? Seriously?" He asked, noting the fear in her eyes. "Are you... Scared of me?" His tone was sad and filled with dread.

Megan shook her head, peeling herself off the wall. Hesitantly, she sat down on the bed beside Alex to prove that she wasn't scared of him. "No," she said finally. "It's just... I've had enough of all this pain, and now you..."
Letting out a quiet sigh under her breath, Megan dropped her gaze, unable to look into Alex's eyes.

Alex felt his heart drop. "You mean... You got tired of me?" He asked, faltering slightly. "You've had enough of me?" He asked, biting his lip.

Megan kept her gaze on the floor, unsure about how she should explain everything to him. She didn't nod, but didn't shake her head either. Just sat there, breathing in silence.

"Then... Then why did you stop me from jumping?" Alex asked curiously. "You would have been rid of me." Her silence hurt him badly and he had to stop himself from going back to the window and to hear her out instead.
