winter has arrived at hogwarts, and the annual yule ball is approaching. it's become tradition even after the triwizard tournament was declared illegal, and the students are buzzing with excitement. for a particular group of fifth-years, though, everything is about to change. relationships will be tried and tested, but at the end of the day, it's just a dance, right? still, what if everything goes wrong?

- ♂ the troublemaker - he's always getting up to something and he's hogwarts' token bad boy. the girls love him and the guys want to be him.
- ♀ the daredevil - everyone knows not to underestimate her. she lives for the thrill of adrenaline and will do practically anything out of spite.
- ♂ the class clown - he knows how to make anyone laugh and everyone knows he's a great friend. the problem? he always gets friendzoned.

- ♀ the overachiever - she's strict and uptight. always in the library with her head inside a book, she doesn't get out too much or have many friends. she's a prefect... obviously.

- ♀ the quiet - she's extremely shy but has an incredible mind. always creating things and writing, she's a genius. she keeps it all to herself, though.

- ♀ the sweetheart - she's one of the kindest people you'll ever meet. sweet like candy with a heart of gold, she's nice to everyone, but she sometimes gets teased for being a muggleborn.
- ♂ the teacher's pet - although he isn't the smartest, his social skills are incredible. he's the teacher's pet and has a bit of a bragging problem.
- ♂ the brother - he's the golden boy's younger brother. always hidden in his shadow, but that's just the way he likes it. away from the spotlight. he's shy and quiet, but wise and kind.

- ♀ the princess - the popular girl. comes from a rich pureblood family and is mostly seen in a positive light. she's charming, but cold and manipulative. she has a lot of self-esteem issues that no one ever seems to notice.
- ♂ the prince - rivals with the golden boy, he's the unofficial mr. popular of hogwarts. cold but flirtatious, he knows how to get his way. he comes from one of those stuck-up rich pureblood families, but no one realizes he has problems too.
- ♀ the broken - it started with family problems, but she ended up spiraling down. now, she's on her own and feels like the world is against her.
