Through the window I see no star:
Something more near
Though deeper within darkness
Is entering the loneliness:
Cold, delicately as the dark snow,
A fox’s nose touches twig, leaf;
Two eyes serve a movement,
that now
And again now, and now, and now
Asha felt herself cringe inwardly as Lumi described the scene. A memory that she did not want to remember was forcing itself up again from the pits of her consciousness, very much in the matter of someone trying to stop themselves from throwing up, but doing so anyways. Her lips trembled as she spoke, however that moment passed quickly, and her brown eyes hardened again. She was focused on one thing: survival.
If we are to survive, we must be strong.
"He can't hurt you anymore here." Was all Asha could manage before she stopped herself. Her words were slurred; each individual word were blended together, much like melted chocolate, thick and dark and sticky, in a bowl, before the chef would heat it up, or do whatever it takes to make a chocolate cake. She just couldn't think straight, and what she wanted to say flew out of the window again. With a quick shake of her head, Asha realized how weak she sounded. "I'm so sorry for what he's done. But what can you do?" Wrapping her arms around her knees once again, Asha sat motionless in her corner, almost in a meditating stance. Thinking; pondering, wondering about their next mission. Yesterday's history; tomorrow's a mystery, but today is a gift. Learn to accept that, you'd be alot happier living here. Slowly, Asha curled her long, bushy tail around her waist, criss-crossed her legs, and closed her eyes.
It was the least she could do from stopping her temper from erupting on a daily basis.
