Ω Hyland Joel Blade Ω
"I can't escape this hell.
So many times I've tried,
But I'm still caged inside.
Somebody get me through this nightmare,
I can't control myself."
Hyland's grainy eyes flicked open and closed lazily, drifting in and out of conciousness, listening absently to the conversations swirling around him. His eyes were flecked with different shades of gold and brown, giving them an almost murky, unforgiving look to them. His fingers still absently picking at the open wounds on his neck. Each breath came out as a hissing kind of snort, quite as they were it disturbed him.
One eye shut as he threatened to sink further into his slumber. The other soon followed but his sleep lasted no more than a few minutes. Chaos broke loose. The rhino-frog experiment had caught scent of his blood. He was jerked out of his sleep to the sound of thundering feet and shattering glass. The bed he had crawled under was torn off the wall and he was left staring at Sophie.
Andrenaline surged through his veins and within seconds he was on his feet, behind Sophie and jumping. He leapt at the rhino-frog experiment, landing square on her back, wrapping one arm around her neck and the other around her forehead. Positioning himself in a way that if she moved she risked having him snap her neck. His filed teeth hovered near the back of her neck and his grainy eyes darted this way and that, daring anyone to come near him.
A fleeting thought rushed through his head, momentarily distracting him. Escape or kill the girl? His eyes widened but he did not relax his grip on the girl's throat, but his eyes darted towards the door which was still open. Strength in numbers, work as a team, you won't make it out alive if you run. His mind seemed to be arguing against itself. Do you really want to live life as a monster? A machine who attacks anyone who comes near him? Confusion flickered through his eyes for a brief second. Adrenaline still rolled off of him in waves.
"So what if you can see the darkest side of me,
No one will ever change this animal I have become.
Help me believe it's not the real me,
Somebody help me tame this animal I have become."
[Random, but the words in black italics are the lyrics to Hyland's themesong. It is: Animal I Have Become by Three Days Grace. Also, if I'm powerplaying/godmodding please, please let me know!]
