a slight warm breeze flew through the air. the city was rather busy around the afternoon. this lead to haru being pushed and shoved around occasionally. a small yet heavy bag was slung around the girl's shoulder, weighing her down. haru had a hard time looking over people's shoulders. letting out a small tired sigh, she pushed through the crowd heading to the side-lines, free from the brutal shoving of busy moms and frantic business men. finally she thought, a small pout formed onto her lips, she wasn't very fond of being pushed around unless it was in a battle. she looked at the shop she was near, a coffee shop. she was more of a coffee than a tea person. taking a seat on the outdoor chairs she let out a small tired huff. she had been travelling for a few days straight without much sleep. small bags formed under her eyes- trophies of her perseverance. laying her head onto her arm, she closed her eyes gently before a small weight hit her leg.

indent it was the newspaper. she grabbed the small paper before bringing it up to her face. squinting slightly she read the paper slowly taking in the information. blood-benders? people disappearing? she tilted her head in slight confusion. she did hear about some people disappearing in the city and a group of blood-benders appearing. were the two connected in some way? resting her head onto her chin, she continued reading the newspaper. rolling up the newspaper she shoved it into her pocket, it was probably nothing to worry about. she let out a small groan of exhaustion before staring at the inside of the coffee shop. she wasn't exactly in the mood for coffee- rather she needed a place to stay and a place to sleep.

indent she had taken money from her parents before she had left the house, but unfortunately wasted a majority of it on food and extensive hotel rooms. the only money she had left was a few silver coins and 32 yuans left in her pocket. barely anything. her head perked up as she heard screaming. a distressed mother in the distance reaching out for her son around the age of 13. "Leave him alone! he doesn't belong with you and he doesn't need to hunt anyone! leave him out of it!" she screamed, haru placed her hand back down. she didn't know the situation was serious enough to forcefully recruit children. the child struggled to get out of the police's arms, attempting to bend his way out of it. haru got up, her hand grasping the edge of the table. she didn't know whether to intrude or not.

    ─────── ( Izumi ! ) ──────────────────
(♛) female (♛) 18 (♛) element;; water (♛) location;; Republic City Park, then downtown near a coffee shop(♛) tags;; open (♛)

Carefully observing the fragile ripples within the pond, the young Izumi sat beside the tranquil body of water as the gentle morning breeze danced with her cerulean long hair. It was a pleasant feeling. Soothing and serene. The distant ongoings of the citizens were barely audible here, only the untroubled laughs of the youngsters as they played carelessly with their parents lingered in the fresh air, blending with the ebullient songs of the nearby birds. A nearby deciduous tree provided cool shade for the girl, an escape from the vivid sunshine. Its saffron leaves also participating in the dance with the breeze. Izumi thought they more fluttered like the feathers of a gliding bird. This was the oasis for Izumi, it was going to be an escape. An escape from her life and reality. She wished she could have stayed much longer here, but nevertheless, after a few hours of peace, she had to enter the chaotic streets. Pity. She preferred it here.

It did take her a fair bit of time until her legs dragged her out of the calmness of the park. She didn't want to leave but she had to. A new job awaited her. A trainer for a new generation of waterbenders. Of course, this was not her idea but the forced manipulation of her parents. They said it would help her be even a stronger bender. Izumi didn't agree.

Even if they've only been in Republic City a few days, the rumours of blood-benders have slithered to her knowledge. An interesting occurrence. At least to her knowledge, most villainous blood-benders have acted in solitude. A group would then be much stronger and adaptable to any foes facing them. Intriguing. Perhaps this city offers more mysteries and fascination than she has previously considered. If these rumours were, in fact, true and these blood-benders do roam the streets, she would have to carefully watch her family so that they don't get involved with them. To protect them. Whilst absorbed in these thoughts, Izumi's eyes noticed a commotion on the other side of the road. A policeman clutching a struggling child. She didn't stop to gawk rudely like others, but her pace did slow down as her curiosity sought to know what was happening.

      Terra Beaumont
      ──────────────────────────────
bending: earth | location: coffee shop | tagged: open

Yet another day had come of being stuck in this city. It was really going to drive Terra nuts if she didn't get out and travel soon, but things had been far too dangerous to try and leave. The last thing she needed was to go missing like many people had lately not that anyone would care. She had long left her family back in the Earth Kingdom and set off on her own. Would they even care if she went missing? She doubted it, but she supposed that wasn't a bad thing. Not having such ties anymore allowed her to follow her dream of being a strong bender. Sure it had disowned her from her blood family, but those bonds could be mended with time if she really wanted to. Giving her head a small shake, the young earthbender continued on her way down the road in silence her battle hammer slung across her back. It probably wasn't necessary to carry it around while trying to blend in with crowds but she felt it necessary in order to protect herself. To her it gave off a warning to those that might try to harm her. Maybe it was a bit much. That never bothered Terra though. Being a bit over the top wasn't a bad thing in her mind. If it got the job done then why change it?

Pulling herself from her thoughts, her eyes drifted to the scene unfolding outside of the nearby coffee shop. She could hear the shouting of a mother as her child was pulled away by an officer. Were they really that desperate for help against the bloodbenders she had read about? She could only assume so. To take a a child though. That was an unforgivable action and it sparked a flame within Terra. Without much thought, she slammed a foot down against the pavement causing a small shock wave of energy to begin moving across the ground towards the officer. In a matter of seconds the pavement jutted up from the ground behind the man blocking his path. "It's wrong to take a child like that," she said. What was she thinking standing up against an officer like this? This was bound to get her into more trouble than it was worth, but she knew she couldn't be a bystander. She had always had a soft spot for protecting children anyways. There was no way she could turn back from what she had done now. Glancing around at the others that were watching, she did her best to try and ignore them for now. Crowds never had been something she worked well in front of. Shifting her focus back to the officer she could tell she had made him mad. Perhaps this was her chance to make a bargain. At least if she did that then she could avoid a fight breaking out in the streets and her being labeled a criminal for assaulting an officer.

"If you are than desperate for benders then what about we make a deal," she spoke again. Now she was beginning to regret even making a move in the first place. There was no way to bail herself out of this one without offering up herself to replace the boy. Looking around again, Terra found herself hoping that someone might speak up before it had to come to that.

haru's eyes widened as she saw someone willing to make a bargain and how they looked around. seemed like they didn't want any part of it. getting up from her seat she jogged on over. "oh hey! there you are, I haven't seen you in forever! let's go to the coffee shop real quick." she mumbled the last part, gently grabbing the girl's forearm and tugging her to the outside of the coffee shop. perhaps she had done the wrong thing and haru may regret it. sorry, for that! it seemed like you needed help so i got you out of there. i don't think being enlisted in the little war thats going on is the best choice right now." she chimed happily, before looking back at the officers who quickly left the scene. haru readjusted her bag, as it was slightly falling off her shoulder. "i'm imai haru." she stated bluntly, looking up at the girl with bright eyes waiting for a response.

indent haru looked back at the streets, a small concerned look took over her cheerful features that were once on her face. what if that was only one of the many kids that were being taken away everyday to serve in the "war". a small sigh escaped haru. she went back to examining the city and how big and grand it was. the food looked divine and the people looked so at home. the smell of food and bread arose into the air, making haru's stomach grumble silently in protest of hunger. she forgot she hadn't eaten in days maybe even weeks. crossing her arms- her mind drifted back onto the blood-benders, it wasn't safe for haru to stay out in the night but she didn't have anywhere to go at this point other than forward. a pout made an appearance. "if i see another kid getting recruited best to expect im burning the officer to ashes." she childishly exclaimed, enhancing her pout and raising her crossed arms. Haru looked back at the coffee shop, maybe she could crash in there for a night without getting caught- she was probably small enough to fit in a cabinet of some sort. her eyes flashes towards a male outside of the coffee shop. did he work there? she wondered. if he did, she'll have to wait till he's gone to enter the shop.

Perhaps too many moments have passed since the busyness of the streets continued as usual, till all of the conflict has been forgotten. Nevertheless, Izumi stood the test of time, continuing to stay still in her posture. Frozen. Unsure of what to make of the events. Thankfully nobody has noticed her unusual lurking presence. By nobody, she meant the girls and the man involved. Any unnecessary attention to her would be unpleasant for her liking. Her mind thanked for the wave of people that shielded her out of sight of anyone. From the strange benders to the policeman. She didn't dare to use her waterbending out in the open, especially as tensions rise with the spreading gospel of the blood-benders.

Her legs were about to drag her off again into the distance, far from the sight of the coffee shop as a strange sensation spread throughout her instantly. And with the passing seconds, her attempts to move were unsuccessful. She was frozen. Unable to move by an unfamiliar force. Blood-bending. Trepidation plagued her mind as her eyes began to spiral out of control from sheer fear. To them, she was just a stranger standing still. Nothing out of the ordinary. But little did they know, her body was not of her control any longer. She was a powerless prey to the malice of the blood-bender who had her trapped. A prey who will soon fall to the strike of her predator. Her hunter. A decisive plan would have been a good idea at this stage, but no such plan had come to her. Typically Izumi was a good tactician but she was aware of her situation. She could do nothing to break the curse. Or could she... Minutes have passed and nothing. Izumi knew she could blood-bend herself but has only attempted to do so under the effects of the full moon. She never dared to use this curse against others so her experience with it is limited. She clearly wasn't as experienced as much as her puppeteer so any counter blood-bending would be pretty much useless.

Her eyes, the only organs she had full control over, picked up the sight of a cloaked figure coming towards her. A scarlet robe signified their appearance over the other civilians, for her at least. After arriving upon the frozen girl, the figure placed their hand on her shoulder, telling the words, in a barely audible tone, "Miss Izumi, of the Seiko family, we implore for you to come with us." The girl could of course not respond to this request. Did she have any choice in this matter? No. Of course not. Her fate was with this robed figure's fate. Nobody would notice them. She couldn't scream. There was no hope for her. Only a desolate path leading to inevitable futility.

Anil/M/Location: Near coffee shop. /Tags: Izumi.

Anil had been out on his morning walk. Today he had the day off so he was enjoying the surroundings while he could, after-all he only gets 1 day out of the week off so his mind raced with things to do.

He noticed a curious scene soon. The strange man in a scarlet robe approaching a girl who seemed frozen solid with fear, he narrowed his eyes and watched before speaking. "Hey! Red freak! Leave her alone!" He knew that this wasn't right! The fear, the chill. Everything was off.
