Welcome to Elderwick. You are now in the real world - our world, in fact, where you are known as a fictional character. However, you’re in luck. You’ve landed in Elderwick, a small little autumn town where the internet isn’t so popular - it’s all people stuck in the past, despite it being 2018. As alarming it may be to be suddenly ripped from home, admittedly, it is nice here. The sun shines. It’s warm. But… below the surface, something dark forms and gestates. There is a mystery here - what are the odd scraps below the surface? What’s with the guild? Who are these odd people around town who keep tabs on everything? Who is keeping you here? And why do you feel like something terrible is to come?

Stuck in the past, Elderwick is a rural town in West Virginia, isolated, full of nature, mom&pop shops, stand-alone diners, crumbling apartments, and heck, a library! The cell reception isn't so good, though, neither is the internet, and all that airs on TV is the news and such. It’s very rustic, surrounded by forest, and endless roads that lead to nowhere. Near the town, about two miles out is Wick Boarding School, ran by Headmaster Wick, an angel who just wants his school to run smoothly and gets annoyed very easily over the adventurer's guild. Bus services are provided to and from school. Just a bit in the opposite direction of town is the Adventurer's Guild, run by a shadowy figure only known as “The Guild Master”. No one is sure who they are, just that in the night they post in town square about monsters that need to be taken care of and will offer high dollar for someone completing it. There are other employees of the guild who are less mysterious than The Guild Master, but it remains ominous and shadowy, scorned by the citizens of the town.
There’s also the odd population of angels and demons roaming around that doesn't make much sense - though they hide, they spread like a virus and make you wonder exactly what this little town has hiding under its sleeve.
There are also the patrons - mysterious townsfolk who keep involving themselves in your life, who seem to know more than they let onto, and are a key piece in finding out this puzzle.
There are lots of candles in Elderwick - too many to count. They are in lanterns that light the street, scattered in public buildings, they are everywhere. It is said to be bad luck if you knock over, or destroy a candle.

LOCATIONS IN ELDERWICK
Wick Boarding School
About two miles out from town. Run by Headmaster Wick. Very large, with student dorms. It’s most likely that your character will be allowed to stay here if they’re underage.
The Guild
It’s unknown exactly where the Guild is, however, in town square, they recruit people to do jobs for them. Many townsfolk look down on the guild, and anyone associated with it or seen working for them.
EPD
The Elderwick Police Department. Criminally underused, very underfunded.
P.I.
A rather uncharacteristic, high-end office. The town doesn't seem to like their presence, but the private investigators there tend to get called more than the police.
Eat Your Heart Out Diner
A small diner in the middle of town that everyone flocks to, where the food is mediocre at best, and they have some rather... unsavory practices.

Since there are not many locations, we encourage you to make them up! Just please message blueblur so they know to add it to this section.

PLEASE keep in mind that people in Elderwick will still react with confusion to things that are not normal, like angels, demons, and magic. This is the real world, after all.

Ah, Elderwick, the beautiful little town in nowhere Virginia. A simple town far too stuck in the past, with no internet and very limited cell service. Its a good thing this is the case, otherwise, someone might be a bit concerned about the anime characters walking around. How you all got here is unknown, you just woke up one day in the fine town, and with no way home as far as your aware, all you could do was settle down here. But hey, the towns not bad, it has your basics, a grocery store, police station, bank, a few small family-owned businesses, a few fast food joints, a boarding school, little doctors office, and a creepy guild...somewhere.

The sun rises over the hills, bathing the town in sunlight. People opening their doors as they head to the local diner for breakfeast and coffee on this fine Saturday morning. In town square sits the bulletin board, full of your normal stuff. Help wanted signs at diners, lost pet posters, upcoming events, and of course, nailed onto the board, a wanted poster for a group of slimes in a local cave, reward? A huge chunk of money for leaving the slimes bodies in a bag in the woods. As shady a it sounds, those who have done the requests, do get paid, everytime, without failure.

Headmaster Wick steps outside his school and takes a flight to a little ma and pa resturant for breakfeast, scowling at anyone looking at the papers. Just a typical morning in Elderwick.

Sebastian wandered through the morning, walking to the diner and wishing this town had a courthouse or a prosecutors' office. Maybe he could make use of himself there, but for now, he was stuck here until he could figure out what to do. He'd already had people questioning why he wore gloves when it wasn't cold, and why his ahoge stuck straight up out of nowhere. Even he didn't know the answer.

Alex|With Auriel|human|runs and works at a high end PI office with Auriel~ Auriel and I headed to the coffee shop near our high end pi office. Auriel and I walked and ordered our coffee drinks and food. The coffee shop was conveniently located right around the corner of our high end Private Investagator office.

Auriel|Human with powers that has dna and blood of an alien illusion goddess thing|With Alex~ Alex and I’s coffee drinks and food orders came out and, I grabbed mine and Alex grabbed hers. Alex and I walked out and headed to our High End Pi office. Alex unlocked the door and I turned on the lights and I put the open sign out. Alex went to her desk and sat down and I went over to mine and sit down.

Carson entered his office in the PI headquarters, sipping from his coffee he'd gotten at the small shop up the street and carrying a couple of files underneath his arm. He closed the door behind him and moved to set his files down on the desk along with his coffee so he could remove his jacket and hang it over the back of his chair. The town was actually fairly warm that morning, but the thought of going out jacketless made his skin tingle. He couldn't exactly walk around the town in full Apollo get up. By the same token, he couldn't carry his bow and quiver out in the open. The jacket was his only 'defense'.
He'd been working at the PI office since a week after he'd suddenly appeared here several months ago. Investigating was really the only thing he knew how to do that he could actually get a job in.

Kirito entered the diner, heading straight for his typical spot: a small two-person table in the back corner. He usually came here every morning before heading to the square to pick up some jobs from the guild. As a mechatronics major, there was really nothing for him to do in such a rural town that seemed to essentially detest technology. As The Black Swordsman, however, there was plenty for him to do. He mostly took jobs from the Guild despite it being highly frowned upon by the populace of Elderwick. It wasn't like it was the first time he was despised by the people around him. It had been the same atmosphere as a Beater back in Aincrad, even though he did that on purpose. He actually kind of preferred being outcasted by all these people; it made it easier to not get attached so it wouldn't hurt when he eventually returned home. And he would return home.
