- spacerAdmittedly, Lucifer felt a bit relieved when Javier accepted his hand. It seemed to disperse the tension just slightly, even though Javier's attempt at a compliment fell horribly short. Lucifer supposed that he was at least trying, which is more than could be said for the beastly little child next to him that he could never seem to move far enough away from.
spacerLucifer clenched his jaw tightly as he felt one of Iah's feathers brush past his ear. He scoffed loudly, jerking his head away, but he forced himself not to react beyond that. The kid was very obviously just trying to annoy him at this point, which meant that Lucifer was annoying him back just as much. The thought of it helped a little, but that didn't stop Iah from continuing. The corner of Lucifer's mouth twitched as he steeled himself against his growing desire to yank the boy down by his wings and knock some bloody sense into him. After that last smug comment, he might have actually have done it had it not been for Jack's sudden and surprising reaction to what Lucifer believed was just him introducing himself.
spacerThe boy's eyes seemed to light with golden fire, confirming that Lucifer had indeed seen them change colors before. What startled him the most, however, were the pair of black wings that unfurled from the boy's back— enough so that Lucifer almost tripped over his own feet as he stumbled backward. "What in hell's name—!" He only managed to get that far before Jack's wings seemed to blot out the sun, sending Lucifer reeling as the sight of them threw him back to when his own brother had threatened his life. Flashes of the times him and Amenadiel had fought came to his memory as he stared up, wide-eyed at Jack's new and definitely more imposing stature.
spacerLucifer backed away quickly, attempting to put some distance in between him and what looked like the first real threat on this island. The look in Jack's eyes was inhuman, almost feral-like. Whoever or whatever this kid was, he had an angelic energy unlike anything Lucifer had ever sensed before. At this point, Jack was quite literally freaking out, going off about a 'Dean' and a 'Sam' and how Jack was certain that he had seen Lucifer die. The very notion of what Jack was talking about flew past Lucifer's head completely. Back? What did he mean 'back?' Apart from one name he recognized, Lucifer had absolutely no idea what Jack was talking, or rather, yelling about.
spacer"Wh— What? My son?" Having gotten himself together, it registered what exactly Jack was accusing him of. "You think-" he laughed halfway through his sentence, more out of surprise and disbelief than anything. The situation had just turned from weird to downright ridiculous. "You— Let me get this straight; you think that I-" he gestured to himself, and then to Jack, "am your father?" He couldn't help but laugh again, this time a little more sincerely. "Child, I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about, but I can assure you that I do not, and never will have a son."
spacerAs if Iah had only been enough—!
spacerLucifer was almost grateful for Javier stepping in between him and Jack and trying to calm the boy down, but then he realized that Javier was probably in more danger than anyone else here. Mortals tended to be weaker and easier to damage than angels, but since coming to this island, what did he know? "And for once I agree with someone here," Lucifer interjected, nodding towards the other man as he slowly approached Jack, raising his hands in his air to show that he meant no harm. "I truly had no intention of hurting you." Lucifer moved around Javier, putting himself in front of him in case a fight broke out. "I give you my word."
spacerFor a moment, Lucifer met eyes with Jack. Something or someone had wronged this boy so badly that Lucifer could only describe the look in his eyes as pure, unbridled rage. He didn't particularly want that anger turned on him, and now was not a great time to test what these people from other worlds were capable of doing. He wasn't even sure that his immortality applied here, so, for now, he was treading carefully.
