He'd been walking long enough to at least dry slightly under the sun, but his clothes were still uncomfortable and basically soaked through. Upon hearing a voice, Rhys looked over at the figure coming toward him. Even though her armor seemed a little strange to him, she appeared to be friendly enough. Rhys waved back at her and returned her smile. "Hello!" Right now as he approached her he was just hoping this woman was trustworthy and that she wouldn't try to beat him up and steal everything he had like most of the people on Pandora would like to do. "Are you from around here?" He asked when she stopped in front of him. Rhys scratched his head a little, kind of staring at her pincers and tail. He had definitely not seen something like that on a person before. His left eye glowed as he tried to use his ECHO scanner, but no data was showing up.

Bow had no idea so much beauty could exist in a place at once, it was simply breathtaking. Stunning trees like the ones in Perfuma's domain, a sparkling sea made of iridescent blues, even the sand felt so soft, it reminded him of Mystacor. It was like his entire world had been condensed into a single place, and he loved it.
He said yes to the strange child in seconds, showing almost no hesitation. Little did he suspect he would regret his response, when the child disappeared and he was forced to wake…

Just a few more minutes and he’d be up and at ‘em, he swore. Just a few more minutes…
Suddenly, Bow was conscious, laying not on a bed, but on the ground, and it was starting to get a little uncomfortable, what with his quiver digging into his back and all-
Hold on… wait, he hadn't gone to sleep wearing his quiver. Okay, maybe waking up on the ground was a little weird too, but that wasn't what had been causing him the problems. Alright, maybe the ground didn't feel particularly nice either, but at the same time, did he expect it to be?
Sitting up, the archer decided it would be most prudent to check he had arrows at all, let alone all the one's he knew he was supposed to possess. As luck would have it, the trick arrows he had laboured over for so long were all present and in perfect condition. He was not defenceless and that was a relief.

Picking up his bow, which also happened to be with him, much to his delight, the young man rose to his feet, dusting himself off and taking in his surroundings.
This… this was the place from his dream, and yet… was it? The wonderful paradise that had seemed so inviting in his peaceful slumber, now seemed much darker, quite reminiscent of the Horde's most recent scheme to finally dominate and terrorise all the land. Bow realised he was no longer in the palace at Brightmoon, amd he was quite certain he was not in any place he knew.
… Was he even on the same planet?

It was mildly terrifying to consider that he might not even be on the same planet, especially if there was other life. What if he couldn't understand them, what if he offended them in some way… the thought of an alien mob chasing after him made Bow's stomach churn in a manner most unruly - or maybe it was just him wanting food - and he didn't like it one bit. What if there were killer plants or somethig, it was all too overwhelming honestly.

While pondering such details, he barely noticed he had been walking this whole time and he almost missed the other figure that was coming into view. They seemed harmless enough, and he didn't think he looked particularly threatening, so they would be able to get along just fine wouldn't they?
What he wouldn't give to have Glimmer or Adora, or any of the other princesses with him right now, or Seahawk. Seahawk would like this kind of thing, all this adventure and prety close to what looked like a sea too. Maybe he and Mermista were out there and he's just ended up on a random island, and all he needed to do was wait a little bit until someone came to rescue him.
Some gut instinct however, told him that would not be so, he was stuck alone until further notice.

Well, not totally alone… if things went smoothly with this stranger. Perhaps they'd know how he could get back home.

“Uh.. hello?” Bow dared venture, tensing a little bit, prepared to pull out his weapon and fire at a second's notice, though he sincerely hoped that it would not come to that. Instead, he waved, as a gesture of peceful greeting, and to make certain that the other person (female? They seemed female…) noticed him. “Do you know what this place is?”

Groaning, the man finally found it within himself to open his eyes and to sit up, reluctant to leave one of the few pleasant dreams that would ever grace his unfortunate soul. But he had a mission to get on with, he couldn't detract from that, the fate of the world was at stake, as usual and he had a bunch of kids to keep alive and a whole host of enemies to deal with, not to mention the worst thing that'd be coming up… diplomacy. And Atlas.

Rubbing an eye, he hauled himself to his feet. ”Ruby, Yang, what's-” His nieces were not present. Neither were any of the other students. In fact, he wasn't even in Jaune's sister's house, passed out of the couch like he remembered being. Where was he then?
Picking up Harbinger, the Huntsman placed his weapon in it's usual position, secured to his back, before beginning to walk in whatever direction his feet decided was appropriate. As was his usual practice, his pace began to quicken, until he broke into a sprint and had taken his bird form. Qrow stood a better chance of finding answers while airborne, and a bord's eye view would allow him to better figire out just where he was, because, as he could see, he clearly wasn't in Argus anymore. Just his luck...

Qrow had been flying for quite a while, before he spotted movement by a tree not too far ahead. He began to circle it, trying to determine just who was there and whether they would be a threat. Well, a problem, more like. After all his time out on recon missions for Ozpin, he doubted he would ever see anything that would be more deadly than the abominations he had witnessed.

Seeing nothing more than what appeared to be a kid, Qrow decided it wouldn't hurt to approach, see if they had any useful information. Heading for a branch he was certain would support his human weight, the Huntsman stayed just above the blond, for strategic purposes, replacing the body of a crow with that of a man, barrelling into the trunk a little faster than he expected, and slamming his back against the main body of the tree. Grimacing at his lack of grace in this moment, Qrow looked down at the kid, quite nonchalant, and honestly wishing for any kind of drink right now, his eyes narrowed in constant suspicion.
”I don't suppose you're a local?” Qrow questioned, though he doubted he would get a helpful answer, the way things were already going.

The dream the young skeleton had was truly beautiful; the sun, the sky, an ocean; all things he had never seen underground something he could only dream of. Though after that child asked him if he wanted to stay his immediate answer was a yes, no hesitation in his mind. Soon enough he was entering the land of the living again, getting hit with a blast of seawater. He jolted awake with a yelp, no way Papyrus would throw water at him to wake him up though Sans just might. Rubbing his eye sockets clear from any water that might have entered them, he glanced around. This wasn't his room, this wasn't even Snowdin, looking around he couldn't find any cave walls or stalagmites above him. Only a bright blue thing above and a overly bright yellow thing up there, making him squint his eye sockets and look back down in front of him; seeing a large pool of water. This wasn't waterfall and that was basically the only place to find so much water, wait did it even end? Looking towards the horizon Calibri couldn't find the other shoreline. Okay so that left two options; 1, he was still dreaming and would wake up soon enough or 2, he's fallen down and is hallucinating before he becomes dust.Sighing he gave himself a hearty pinch to his humerus earning another yelp, okay so neither option seemed correct. Another wave of saltwater splashed up at him, drenching him once again. Great now he was confused and soaked, just great.

After a few seconds he started thinking back to the dream he had prior, wait... Looking around this place was almost a picture perfect version of what he saw in his dream. So did that mean he was in the dream and not just dreaming? Oh crap his brothers would freak, let alone skipping school he was now skipping the whole underground. Sans would probably kill him when he gets back, wait. Can he even get back? Standing up a little to quickly the skeleton staggered before getting his footing in the sand, okay now if he was going to find his way back home he should probably start with finding someone else right? Calibri glanced around, looking for any form of life. So far nothing. He sighed before started to walk inland, almost tripping on something nonexistent but lucking as he was regaining his balance he spotted a figure, lucky! Once stable on his feet he called out, "Hey! Sorry to bother you but do you have any idea where this is?" making his way over to the other, though they looked nothing like any monster he had seen before, weird though he wouldn't judge this weird monster person.

Javier had to do a double-take when the boy mentioned someone named David. They couldn’t possibly be thinking of the same person, right? It seemed unlikely but there was always the possibility, in the years that he has no contact with his brother during the apocalypse he could have easily met this boy. After all, David knew Clementine before she had met Javier, there was still plenty of things that the younger brother didn’t know anything about; whatever David did in the first few years of the apocalypse was still, annoyingly, unknown to the baseball player. But then that rose the question of who exactly this kid was, the first thought was AJ since that was the only child that Javier knew of that had a connection to David but that idea was immediately scrapped; from what he had heard from Clementine, AJ was still incredibly young so couldn’t be this kid. That didn’t help because that led Javier back to square one, he was stuck with a complete stranger and a child at that.

Shaking his head, Javier cleared his throat awkwardly and shook his head, still debating on whether to mention his own David or not - they could be thinking of different people after all. But still, there was the chance, right? Maybe it was the same David? It was worth a shot. ”Afraid I’m the better looking brother. I like to think my face is less stupid than his.” Javier responded jokingly while offering a small smile to the boy, looking down at him and returning his baseball bat over his shoulder and onto his back. ”I’m Javier, but people call me Javi.” He hesitated for a moment, ”I’m David’s brother...if we’re thinking of the same one.” It could potentially be bad to reveal his connection to his, fairly infamous, brother if this kid was part of any groups that the New Frontier caused issues for. However, if he did know David then perhaps he might have an idea if David was here or not. While he wasn’t particularly fond of his older brother, it would be nice to have a familiar face in otherwise unfamiliar surroundings.

The finger pointed at him pulled the survivor from his thoughts. An incredulous scoff escaped his lips before he spoke, ”What makes you think I’m behind this? I just said I woke up here, same as you I’m assuming.” The accusation certainly dampened Javier’s mood but he decided against letting that get to him, it was understandable why the kid was hostile, after all; Javier was going to be hostile if it wasn’t a kid that he was facing. Oh please just hit me. ”What?” He exclaimed, eyes widening as he looked at the boy, ”Look, kid, I’m not gonna...I’m not gonna hit you! Jeez! That’s not the kinda thing you ask a stranger to do.” He replied, a frown on his face as he shook his head. ”I’m confused too, I get it, but maybe we can work together, huh? Figure out where we are and how to get back to our homes?”

A small sigh of relief escaped the woman when her friendliness was returned to her from the man. That was a good start, yeah! He was friendly enough so far which meant they could potentially start working together and find out how to get back to their homes. That rose the question of where he was from, although, the force captain was going to be saving that for later on when they were getting to know each other. So far she would have to restrict herself to simple introductions, she didn’t want to scare or overwhelm him, after all. In a mere moment, Scorpia’s eyes noticed where her companion was looking which caused her to be somewhat self-conscious for a small while before she cleared those negative thoughts away. It wasn’t the most normal thing, after all, it was understandable why he was looking. Besides, she found herself staring at the metal arm of his as well. That could be another question to ask later on as well.

”Oh, no, I’m not from around here.” Scorpia explained, shaking her head again, ”Haha, you know, I was going to ask you that as well. But you beat me to it!” She smiled once more. That question immediately crossed out the possibility of him being from around here. THat was disappointing but somewhat of a relief to hear; if they were both not from here that meant they could both bond over something, right? If they’re both clueless then they could have more fun working together. ”I’m called Scorpia.” She introduced warmly, at first holding out a pincer for some form of a handshake but then her interest was snatched away by the glowing eye. ”Woah..” Intrigued, she leaned forward and into the man’s face, raising one of her pincers to point at the eye which was glowing, ”Hey is that a normal thing for your eye to be doing?” She questioned, tilting her head, "'Cause it looks pretty darn cool from where I'm standing!"

Max's skepticism of the man suddenly raised to the sky. He knew a guy named David too? It couldn't possibly be the same David.. no. But could it? If it was, then Max surely felt bad for the older man. The David he knew was definitely not someone he enjoyed hanging around. But maybe this guy was a childhood friend of Davids'. He was about to ask, until the other man spoke up. "The better looking brother?" Max whispered. "Brother?!" Max's eyes bulged, and he eyed the man up and down once again. "Hell no man, we're definitely thinking about two different Davids." That was when he remembered that he had stolen David's phone. Grinning mischievously, he pulled the phone out of the pocket of his baby blue hoodie, clicked a couple of buttons, and turned the phone around so that the screen was facing the other man. "This is the David I know. His Tinder profile, hah. Cracks me up every time." Chuckling, Max turned off the phone and slid it back into his hoodie. Yeah, they definitely weren't brothers.

Javier. Max repeated the man's name in his head a few times. Nope. He'd definitely never heard that one before. And the David he knew definitely never said anything about a Javier. Max decided to brush aside the thought, though. It wasn't something worth getting worked up over. Clearing his head, Max turned back to Javier, smirking. "I'm Max," he stated. There wasn't any harm in telling the other man his name, was there? "And no, I'm not from here. I specifically remember falling asleep at camp, but suddenly, I woke up here." Max frowned, but he shrugged. "Eh, this is much better than that God-forsaken camp." The presence of the island was a little bit spooky, due to the fact that it was darker and more gloomy than the one he had seen in his dream, but it didn't really faze him. In fact, he'd rather be in a dark place than somewhere all rainbows and sparkles.

Once Javier stated that he wasn't from around here, Max frowned a bit. Great, so they were getting nowhere. But there had to be someone behind this. Apparently this guy woke up here too, so no, Max wasn't hallucinating, or losing his mind for that matter. When Max told Javier to hit him, the guy immediately coiled back, causing Max to sigh. The man seemed nice, for he didn't smack Max with the baseball bat as soon as he asked for it. He was kind of surprised. Max himself was pretty annoying, but he guessed this guy could take it. "Eh, it was worth a shot," he told the man, shrugging. And the next thing Javier said caused Max's surprise to raise. Javier wanted to work together.. with him? Max snorted. Usually he worked alone, but maybe this guy could be useful. After all, he did have a baseball bat. Max grinned mischievously. Maybe this could work. "Sure, let's work together." He held out a hand to Javier, a troublesome smile plastered on his face. "Whaddya say? The brains and the bronze."

So she wasn't from here either. What the heck was going on on this island? He noticed her curiously eyeing his arm, which was fair. Not that many people on Pandora had cybernetic enhancements like that, unless they had the money and right people to make them."That name certainly suits you," he chuckled. "I'm Rhys." He blinked at her held out pincer, and was thankful she got distracted from the handshake. He had no clue how he would go about shaking her hand that wouldn't be incredibly awkward on his part. Suddenly his personal space was invaded as she leaned in quite close and put her pincer near his eye, making Rhys stumble backwards a little. Having something pointy near his eye, even though it was partially mechanical, did not make him feel that great.

"Yeah, it's pretty cool." Rhys smiled confidently from the slight ego boost. "It's normal- it's a, um, scanner?" He hoped Scorpia didn't put together that he was trying to scan her as it might make things uncomfortable. "Doesn't seem to be working quite right though, might've gotten damaged from the water." Or there was just nothing on this island that was in Hyperion's database. Which is more worrisome to Rhys than the implant just being broken. He cleared his throat. "Uh, so, might be a weird question, but did you have a dream about an island kinda like this? And just kind of woke up here? Because I did and I'm so very confused."

It didn’t take long for the boy to make it clear that he and Javier were definitely thinking of different Davids. That was both disappointing and a relief; it was disappointing because it meant that he wasn’t going to have anybody he knew around here, but then there were also the benefits such as the fact that nobody could base their impression of Javier on their impression of David. He knew well enough that David was a difficult man to get along with, and growing up with him as a big brother was hell on earth at times for Javier - especially when he was pursuing his baseball career...although he supposed he deserved it. Pushing away his family was something he regretted everyday, especially when his father fell ill.

When the working phone was presented to him, Javier took a step back, furrowing his brows confusedly and shaking his head in order to clear it so he could focus on the image that was presented to him. ”Tinder?” Javier repeated, tilting his head, ”Er...that...yeah, I don’t know what that is.” He chuckled awkwardly and scratched the back of his neck, ”That’s definitely not my brother though. Glad we got that figured out.” Then he began to dig around in his pockets until he finally fished out a carefully folded tattered piece of paper. It was, in fact, a family photo of Javier, David, their parents and David’s family that he still managed to keep a hold of all these years; it was from before the apocalypse, so everyone looked considerably younger than they should have but Javier only really needed to point out David. Unfolding it with care, he presented the photograph and pointed a finger at David, ”This is the David I know. Er, obviously he’s older than that, though.” He explained, waiting for a moment before folding up a delicate photo again and tucking it into his pocket.

”Well, it’s nice to meet you, Max. Nice to know you’re as clueless as me. Makes me feel less self-conscious about it.” he spoke lightheartedly, smiling at the boy in the hoodie while he offered a polite nod. It was annoying how the two of them were clueless, to be honest, but then at least now Javier knew it was not just coincidence. ”I don’t see why you’re so against camps, kiddo.” He commented, shrugging his shoulders, ”Man, a kid your age needs people to be with. I’m not bashing you or anything, I’m just saying it’s not easy getting by alone. I mean, if you have done that then that’s pretty badass.” He continued. He couldn’t imagine leaving Gabe or Mari alone in the state the world was in, especially not at the start of the apocalypse when they were probably around the age of Max. Javier would still need to ask how old he was.

When Max agreed to work together, a smile grew on the man’s face and he nodded, lightly grabbing the boy’s hand and shaking it, ”That sounds good to me, Max.” He stated. Now seemed to be as good a time as any to find out more about his new companion, so with that thought Javier began thinking of how to go about asking the questions. After a moment he spoke again, ”Don’t want to pry or anything, but how old are you, kid?” Javier questioned, tilting his head, ”How’d you get a working phone too? What kind of a camp have you been staying in?”

”Thanks. You have a cool name too.” Scorpia responded with a wide grin, appreciating the comment on her name suiting her, although it was pretty obvious considering her scorpion-like tail and pincers. She still appreciated it though, at least it wasn’t an insult and it didn’t seem like he was all too bothered by the tail and pincers, just curious. That was a relief. She was painfully aware of the fact that she did not completely fit in with the other princesses due to her family’s actions and her appearance, so it was always nice to know that this complete stranger was at least nice to her about it, it certainly helped her and gave her a small confidence boost.

When he stumbled backwards from her, it took the force captain a small while to realise why he had done so and finally she leaned back again - it was a terrible habit of her to forget the idea of personal space. ”Oh! Sorry about that.” She laughed sheepishly, ”I shouldn’t get so close to your eye.” Scorpia apologised, smiling widely while she listened to Rhys explain why his eye had been glowing in the first place. She hadn’t met somebody with scanner eyes before, so that was certainly interesting to hear about. ”Woah!” She exclaimed again, ”It’s cool that you’ve got a scanner! Must be pretty useful when it’s working, huh?” She rested her pincers on her hips, seemingly completely forgetting about how she originally was going to offer a form of a handshake. ”It’s a shame its not working now, though. Maybe we can get that fixed. You know, I have this friend who’s crazy about all this tech-y stuff. She’d probably like you. She’s got a real knack for building stuff and finding out how stuff works. It’s real cool watching her talk about all that stuff.” Scorpia rambled, gushing over Entrapta’s skills for a moment before returning her attention to the situation at hand.

”A dream about an island like this? Yeah! With a little girl too? You know, I wonder where that girl got off to. I saw her going away and giggling and then before I knew it I woke up here!” She made a dramatic gesture with her arms as if to try and gesture to the entire island and then she rose a pincer to her chin, frowning thoughtfully, ”It’s pretty cool that we had the same dream, huh? Pretty scary but pretty cool too! I wonder what happened to this place. It was so pretty before in the dream but now it’s just dark and gloomy.”

Startling the kid hadn't been part of the plan, but it was a little amusing, as bad as that sounded. But Qrow wasn't exactly known for tenderness, so this was typical behaviour, which was only worse when he didn't have access to any drinks.

”Sorry 'bout that,” The Huntsman apologised, nonetheless, purely out of politeness, though an amused chuckle followed. However, didn't intend to antagonize the kid any further if he could help it, it would be more useful to have him as an ally.

But, as he suspected, no useful information was relayed in return to his question and, truth be told, that joke had been overused, (mostly by him), though he did crack another small smile. A smile which soon disappeared when the blond made physical contact with him, a green gaze coming to meet his red stare.
”Uh...” the man was a little concerned, to say the least, and though he was started to feel a little more relaxed than usual, he decided he didn't like it that much, particularly since the boy felt so warm, and the man pulled his arms back and lifted a leg up, to lean on. ”We're not exactly buddies kid, let's refrain from getting touchy.” Now Qrow saw the eyes on the kid's hands, eyes which seemed blank and looking more closely at the marks on the kid's face, Qrow realised they were not the simple marks he had first assumed them to be. Was this some kind of spider faunus?
”Well, if you're name ain't 'a local', mind telling me what it is?”

The David that Javier knew was drastically different than the counselor Max knew. As Javier uncrinkled a photograph from his pocket and held it out to Max, he was quite surprised. The setting of the photograph looked so strange... like it was taken in a different dimension. But it didn't faze him. He'd seen some pretty strange things in his life that had definitely shaken him to the core. Max shook his head, clearing these thoughts from his mind, and placed a hand on the photograph, pushing it backwards towards Javier. "Yeah, um, just be glad you don't know my David." He noticed that sounded weird, and he cleared his throat. "Er, the David I know." Max stuffed his hands into his hoodie pockets. "Seems like a pretty basic family. Are you, um, still in contact with them?" Max, for one, had a horrible past. His parents were very neglectful, and the only reason that they sent Max to Camp Campbell was so that they could get rid of him. Max could feel his eyes begin to water, but he immediately scrubbed them away. No, he wasn't going to cry. Especially not in front of someone he had just met. He was tougher than that.

At the mention of camps, Max narrowed his eyes, his small wave of sadness seemingly forgotten. "Ohhh, don't even get me started on camps! They're only places parents send their kids when they don't want to take care of them anymore." He crossed his arms defensively. "And then you're forced to participate in dumb activities all day long that aren't even fun. And you get served the most disgusting food, and your counselors are insane, and your Quartermaster is definitely..." He realized he was ranting, and stopped in his tracks. What he said probably just sounded like a jumbled mess, so he decided to put it another way. "I'll give you four letters. H-e-l-l." When Javier suggested that it wasn't easy being alone, Max laughed. "Please, I've pretty much been alone my whole life! Usually I find something to do by myself, like attempt to steal a car or something." He narrowed his eyes. "But that's not the point. It's totally easy to get around by yourself."

Now they were getting into the more detailed questions. Max didn't think to much of it; maybe Javier just wanted to get to know him. Plus, what harm would it do to answer a few questions. "I'm ten." Max answered the first question confidently. "Pretty mature for my age, y'know. Definitely smarter, too." He didn't mind bragging about himself, especially since all the other campers back at Camp Campbell were, in his point of view, stupid. "Oh, and the working phone? Yes, it's mine. Kind of. I stole it from my camp counselor David. He's really clueless about it. Sometimes I talk to girls on his profile pretending to be him. And then they show up at the camp angry as hell. It's great." And finally, the last question made Max frown. "Camp Campbell. You've probably never heard about it because it's literally in the middle of nowhere, but it's horrible. Everyone calls it a 'camp camp', because there's every activity you could possibly want there." He noticed he was making the camp sound like a fun place, and he crossed his arms. "It isn't fun, though. The activities are stupid anyways." Max glanced back up at Javier, realized he was probably boring the man to death. He himself was pretty surprised that he had opened up like this to someone he had just met, but this was probably just some form of dream. He'd probably be back in his own bed any second. Max cleared his throat. "Besides that, please tell me you didn't also go to some stupid camp."

”Sure you don't want to go by 'a local'?” Qrow teased, deciding to lean against the trunk of the tree, let his legs hang freely in the air.
Lygad... Qrow's gaze flickered to the other eyes that opened, for a second, before his own eyes drifted upwards to look at some point in the sky, as he wondered how exactly they had ended up here. Were there more in a similar position? Was there anyone he knew? Did the kids even know he was gone? Or did they just suppose that he was out somehwere conducting one of his own missions, as he usually did? They probably had assumed such.
He really hoped things wouldn't go too far south while he wasn't there, but then again, perhaps it was for the best. After all, he literally brought bad luck with him, wherever he went. Maybe things would go a little better without his misfortune following them around constantly because of his horrible semblance. Cursed from the beginning. Fun times for him.

Hearing Lygad's question, Qrow snapped back to attention, debating whether or not to tell the kid what he wanted to know. His decision was made quickly, as it seemed that the same dangers present back in his own home were not exhibited here, and definitely not in Lygad.
”Qrow Branwen.” The man replied, tilting his head a little, as he noticed that the boy seemed to be getting a little uncomfortable, and the high temperature Qrow had noticed earlier added to his concern.
”You alright kid? You seem a little out of it.” The Huntsman's soft spot for kids was showing up now, and right now, Qrow wasn't so bothered about it. He was pretty sure Lygad wouldn't be the kind to turn on him, but he wouldn't exactly be vaught off guard if his previous assumption was proved wrong. That was how things usually went for him.
