"I know, I know. I love you, too, more than I ever thought I could love someone. Don't worry about this. I'll talk to Shadow, get this cleared up, and everything'll be okay." Tristan said sweetly, lifting her head to press a deep, passionate kiss to her lips.

Alix scoffed. "A family? Me? Riiiiiiggghhhhtttt." he said sarcastically. "My longest relationship lasted two weeks. I hate kids. I don't like the idea of tying myself down to one person... Hmm, what other reasons should I give that me having a family is a totally ridiculous idea?" he said simply.

[Lilo.]

"No seriously, what I meant was... you have Tristan, and the rest of your family. Family doesn't necessarily mean having kids, you know. It doesn't have to mean being related. You have possibly the closest family I have ever seen in my entire life which I can assure you, is very close." Jennifer told him confidently, passing him a promising smile.

"I'm coming with you," Kadina mumbled when she pulled back. "Please." Before Tristan even had a chance to reply, she pressed her lips to his again, the familiar sensation enticing her with the promise of a kiss more with Tristan.

Alix laughed. "My family? Close? Your idea of close is a bunch of vampires running around tearing each other apart and setting everyone on fire?" he joked. "We don't exactly get along very well, if you couldn't tell by Zire's recent match and lighter confiscation. Tristan threw me out a window once for--" he stopped insantly, shaking his head. "Nevermind that. We almost killed each other, literally. Liam literally ripped Kale's arms off for jokingly threatening to hurt Xena. In fact, I hate most of my family. As the newest vampire, I'm always the last for everything. Sort of like being the youngest in a very large family. Gotta fight to get what I need."


Tristan pulled back, his face serious. "No. You can't. I must go alone. The Shadow Wolf may not approve of me changing you and he may..." he cleared his throat. "Nevermind. Anyways, I doubt you'd even be able to see him. You won't be able to unless you've ever had a near-death experiance, almost died, looked into the eyes of the Devil, etcetera."

[Lilo.]

"For the record, I don't see my father anymore either. It leaves a big empty hole, doesn't it?" Jenny sighed, rubbing her neck in the slight awkward silence. She smiled. "I live for him because he isn't fortunate to live." That's how she always managed to live with herself. "Anyway..."

Kadina sighed. "I can't remember who it was... somebody said I wouldn't live past the birth or something. What do they mean?" Nobody had in fact said it, it had been a vision. But she wasn't ready to tell Tristan that, however. Managing a smile she squeezed Tristan tight.

"Vampire birth is always very risky. Unless both parents are born vampires. Then it's fairly easy. Xena and Liam - They were born into the vampiric world. They're considering children, now that the threat of the High League is over." Tristan replied, biting his lower lip. "You may not live past it... But Zire has lots of training with vampiric birth. He'll have some tricks to keep you alive. Yes, you most definitely will get quite weak and sick, and the child may drain a lot of your energy, but once it's all over you'll heal quite soon." he assured her.


Alix was silent for a few moments. He was staring into the forest. The Shadow Wolf... Who was it coming for? It couldn't be himself, seeing as he had been told by the wolf himself that his death would not come for millions of years. And that was only a few years ago. Who... Tristan! It must be. Alix had spoken to the Shadow Wolf back then about how he wished Tristan was dead. The two had been in a huge fight that was way resolved now, and his wishes were no longer true, nor were they actually ever really. The Shadow Wolf had chuckled and told him that Tristan would face darkness soon enough. He hadn't understood what the wolf meant... Until now... The wolf nodded, having read his thoughts, before seeping off to disappear into the darkness. He cleared his throat. "So, anyways, tell me a bit about yourself." he said quickly, filling the silence and trying to keep the topic off of what he'd seen.

[Lilo.]

Kadina wondered if Tristan thought she was having twins or not, after all, he'd said 'child' not 'children'. "But, let's say it was twins, and we didn't know, what would be the chances of me living then?" She asked trying not to sound as if she was having twins. Yes, she was, but she'd let Tristan know as late as she could. Maybe even leave it to the birth and be really surprised as if she didn't know.

Jennifer chewed her lip nervously. "Me? Um, I live with my Mom, I'm kinda her rock since Dad died. We never found his body, but by the amounts of blood and his arm that they found, it's one hundred percent certain he's dead. He wasn't a vampire though. Nor was my mum. Perfectly human. Man I say it like's it a good thing." She cringed, but went silent for a bit. "Has Kadina always been you know, a vampire?" Her voice was low and hushed like it was a curse to say her name.

"Even slimmer. The chances already are, on average, about 50% survival. With Zire's expertise, about 80%. But that's with one child. The chances would be cut in half with two; 25% survival, 40% with the help of Zire." Tristan said. He wrapped his arms around Kadina. "But don't worry about it. I doubt it'll be twins; It'd be a vampire rarity."

Alix shook his head. "Her and Tristan were together long ago, when she was human. Of course, he didn't tell her for a very long time. I think it was their one year anniversary - Tristan told me the story, but he didn't recall when it was. They were apparently on a rooftop, and he told her what he was... She fainted, actually." he laughed lightly. "But after that he told her how much he loved her, and she him. Due to this, Kadina brought up the subject of becoming a newborn - A newly changed vampire. Tristan, like the rest of us would, gave no thought and denied immediatlely. She was completely insistant. Tristan was beginning to very vaguely consider it when she mentioned the fact that she'd die eventually, and he wouldn't. Finally, she broke him. He changed her, just recently, actually. Oddly, she's kept all of her memory. Most vampires lose almost all of it for a long while. After a year of being a vampire, you gain your memory back."

[Lilo.]

Kadina flinched, stifling a fake laugh. "Yeah, I suppose..." If only he knew. But she didn't want to bring down more news on him after that wolf had come after him, or whatever was happening. "How can you tell if it's twins, Tristan? Apart from a test, of course." She was almost looking as if she was seriously worried about something, but if it was fairly obvious to tell when you had twins then she may as well tell Tristan to save him guessing.

Jennifer nodded. "Interesting. Quick question but probably a long answer; why do people become vampires? I don't get it. I mean I can understand Kadina, they want to live together, ecetera, but why do most of you become vampires? if you aren't born vampires of course...?" Jennifer asked, intrigued.

[center][size=85]Tristan shrugged. "Dunno. I don't think there really is a way to tell, other than a test." he replied. "But let's not worry about this now. We'll cross this bridge when we get to it." he smiled sweetly. "There's still time to salvage the rest of our perfect day and pretend that none of this happened."

Alix sighed. "Many reasons. The greedy reasons: Wanting strength, immortality, powers, good looks, stuff like that. But most people don't choose to become vampires. Xena and Liam were born into the life, and so they don't wish to be human, since they've never known the life. I myself sacrificed my whole human life to defeat the Devil. Tristan was on his deathbed when Zire offered to save him. Kale had been forcefully turned into a vampire for an army, but he overthrew the leader and left when Zire found him and offered a home. Kadina did it to be with the guy she loves forever. Basically, most of us wish we could be human again, to live a life without this thirst for blood, to not be a horrendous, murderous monster. Those who choose this life normally do it for a reason such as a simple want to be 'perfect', or to be with someone, etcetera. Those who don't choose it are normally offered a cure to a deathly illness, or being saved from death - The cure of course being a terrible sacrifice."[/size][/center]

"Okay." Kadina managed to relax- if there was no other way to tell, then she'd be fine until the birth, then of course, Tristan would be shocked to find there was two vampire babies, not one, and it would all come out and Tristan would go into one of his big fits. "Where to start...?" She pondered aloud, her fingers walking along his arms playfully with her sweet giggle escaping her lips- just so she didn't seem too worried.

"That's deep." Jennifer laughed. "I know this sounds really stupid, but I've never actually been in love. Never felt anything other than lust, all my life. I thought I loved someone, but I didn't." She was laughed grimly now, as if it was something she should be ashamed off.
