Each kiss she and Tristan shared became more intense and, evidently, left her yearning for more each time- desirably so. Quite obviously, Kadina and he were always getting distracted with each other- what had started off to a walk to the beach- where he had so romantically proposed- had turned into a glorious kiss- not that she wished to object, it was a kiss that she enjoyed. Craning her head back she pulled away from the beach. "It shall be nighttime again before we get to the beach at this rate." Kadina joked lovingly as she reached to take his hand.

Tristan chuckled. "Most likely." he replied, going along with the joke. He sped up a bit, trying to keep focus on the matters that he was silently discussing with himself - Finally it wasn't something to deal with murdering Alix, or fighting off the High League, or apologizing for something else he'd done wrong. It was a simple, happy subject - Wedding preparations. Sure, the wedding wouldn't be for a while now, but if it was to be perfect it had to have a lot of thought put into it. He'd have to invite his friends from down South, the Texan Coven. And definitely the neighbors that shared their forest. Even the Northern Coven could be invited... Perhaps even a few witches, family friends and cousins. And no matter how much he knew he shouldn't, he had to invite Ash and his coven. Ash would just cause problems. But he'd never hear the end of it if all the other covens were talking about the wedding and Ash suddenly learned that he wasn't invited. "I was thinking about the wedding - I'm going to have to invite my cousin, Ash, or else there'll be problems. Whatever you do, stay away from him. He's bad news and, if I know him as well as I do, he'll be making his yearly visit in a couple of days. Avoid him at all costs."

Kadina tugged on his hand, leading him onward towards the peer- how romantic would it be for her to sit with Tristan, watch the hours pass, legs dipped in the water, splashing small waves as they would frolic around with each other. Her attention focused on what he had to say when his tone undoubtedly changed to something that she could not decipher. Thoughts wandering, Kadina couldn't imagine what possibly made him so much of a trouble, why she should avoid him at all costs. Something told her she didn't want to know, but her inquisitive mind wasn't having any of it. "Why is this so?" She pondered, shivering when a breeze rushed past her fleetingly. Slipping her shoes off, she held them in her other hand, so that she could walk down the peer hand in hand.

Tristan did the same, the sand warm underneath his bare feet. He sighed. "Ash is ruthless. He's a blackmailer. He'd probably just come and crash the wedding if I didn't invite him, so it'd be best to just do so and get it over with. If he's following his visiting each year thing, he'll arrive in a few days. When he does, avoid him. Don't talk to him, look at him, don't even stand anywhere near him. He's even worse than Alix and I combined when it comes to persuasion and taking advantage of women. He always has someone at his side - A different girl every few days. Usually humans so that after he's had his fun he can easily dispose of them. He has no heart. He's uncapable of love. I know that it seems that Alix is, but he's not. Unlike Alix, Ash doesn't even want anything to do with love. I know that Alix does, but he won't admit it, of course. When Ash says that he doesn't, he isn't lying at all. He'll do anything to protect the family honor, too. If he would've been here when you were still human, he would've killed the both of us to protect my family's reputation. And he would've enjoyed it, too. Killing his own family would've brought him joy. He's a dark, terrible person, and I hope that he burns very painfully and violently in Hell one day." he said, speaking through his teeth as his eyes narrowed, growing darker.

Kadina's brow lowered towards her eyes, casting a dark shadow in the gold-rimmed beauties that were ever so often glaring up into Tristan with slight confusion and anxiety. "I cannot ignore him completely, Tristan. I have manners, unlike himself, it seems. Doing so would not at all be lady-like, or sophisticated." She sighed then, not knowing whether it was the right thing to say or not. "Alix didn't use his powers or persuasion or whatever to um... you know, get me to do stuff with him, it was my idea. Therefor, even if he had tried anything, I'd obviously fought it off. He was stubborn, but I persuaded him to do it, not the other way around. So I'm sure that I'll be fine with this Ash person. But for your sake, I won't get involved."

"It may be not be polite, but it's just safer to not speak to him." Tristan insisted with a sigh. "Please don't. There's no way to be friends with him. You're either an enemy or a pawn of amusement to him, not ever a friend. Not ever someone who needs to be protected. Not ever someone he'd give a second thought to killing. Not ever someone he'd ever care about. He has no heart. But if he's does it's pure, cold, hard, rock." he said. "You can speak to him, but not when I'm not around. I don't mean to sound controlling, but he'd do anything to get someone as beautiful as you all alone. And if he were to do so, it'd be dangerous. He's an older vampire, like me, and thus he is incredibly strong. Just don't go near him unless I'm there to kiss his ass if he tries anything." he said with a grin.

"I'll try my best not to, but you know how..." Kadina tried to think of the word for somebody who wouldn't ever dare say no to somebody in case of upsetting them, who dare disagree in fear of making an enemy, dare going against somebody in fear of the consequences. Her eyes were almost distant for a while as her mind scrambled for a word that was there, but was stubbornly refusing to escape her pursed lips. "Vulnerable I am." She shrugged it off- she didn't actually like admitting it but that was what she was. A newborn vampire. A girl- a harmless girl who wouldn't dare to fight someone unless she absolutely needed too or if she had a good reason to. That was her, Kadina. "You're all big and tough and confident and I'm so little and not. You're lucky."

"Toughness comes from years of having to use force. Years of murder. Years of things I'm not proud of." Tristan shrugged. "Confidence - More like cockiness." he chuckled. "But I'm not always confident, of course. Like this whole being a father thing. I'm scared. I don't like to admit my fear, but I am. I've never actually stuck around long enough to take care of the kids. So there you go, a break in my confidence." he said. She always made it sound like he was so perfect and she wasn't. He hated that. He was nowhere near perfect. Just because he acted like he feared nothing and he was strong and he always hid his insecurity, she saw him as perfect. She was much more perfect than him, so he pointed out his flaws every chance he got so that she wouldn't see herself as inferior.

Kadina screwed her face up as she stroked her stomach, as if they could feel her hand running over the lump on her belly, that, inevitably, contained two baby vampires. "I couldn't be more scared," Kadina admitted as she eyed the end of the peer. Siting down, she dipped her feet into the water softly. "I think it's what I want, being a mother I mean, but it just all seems too..." Her eyes narrowed. "Unreal."

Tristan nodded as he took place beside her. "It has been one crazy ride, I must admit. Ever since the starting I knew our relationship was never going to be all cozy and quiet like those ridiculous ways they portray old families as if their lives are completely calm and perfect. First we have the whole inter-species issue, then the trouble of you being a newborn, then the trouble of my issues causing me to break down and leave, then me coming back, then us being distant, then Alix deciding not to mind his own business, then the twins, then the shadow wolf, then the demonic attack, then the proposal, then the League interjecting into the matter of your pregnancy, and now all this business with preparing the wedding and having to invite Ash. No matter how much we actually settle down, I'm sure the excitement in our lives won't." he said with a fond smile. All of it had just brought them closer, had it not? It had benefitted more than just them, too. Because of the whole commotion that Alix took part in, he and Tristan were closer, more bonded. Alix had felt guilty and he and his brother hadn't fought since then, although Tristan had sort of gone off the deep-end and tried to kill him several times before it all ended. And Alix had seen the value of love. He learned that it was necessary, and Tristan could now sense the longing for it in his brother. He had changed, yes. And Xena and Kadina were certainly closer now. They were sort of like sisters from the moment they met, but all of this commotion had brought them together. Kadina was closer to Essa now, too, and Zire also. Hell, she was even more familiar to the League now, though not in the most idyllic way.
