Essa turned at mention of her name. Of course, she sensed Kadina there, but hadn't known she wanted her. She was sitting at the table, discussing matters of the League with Zire. "We'll speak later." she said sweetly to her mate, pecking him softly on the lips before flitting off to Kadina. "Something you need, dear?" she asked kindly. Though Kadina and Tristan were not married yet, she still considered her as a daughter. Due to her sweet ways, she had always considered her as such, but now more than ever.

[Lilo.]

Kadina nodded with an innocent smile. "More than you'd think." She sighed, rubbed the back of her head, embarrassed that she was actually going to say this. "I'm afraid of being an awful mother." Kadina shrugged, there was nothing she could do to get the awful feeling that her kids would have an awful mother to stop nibbling at her mind. "I want you to tell me everything you know about motherhood."

"There's no need to worry dear - I wasn't the best of mother's when we first found Kale. Five years old and half dead, we took him in as our own. Zire wanted to try turning him into a vampire, but still having him age. It was a difficult process, but we finally managed to do so, yet keep him aging like a human. We were young and had not even the slightest idea of what we were doing" Essa laughed harmoniously. "On his eighteenth birthday, we asked him if he wished to stay that age forever. He said yes, and so he lived like that ever since. Then afterward, more experianced, we decided to try having a child of our own. Back then, the League didn't frown upon vampires who were not born as such having children like they do now. I was weak while pregnant, but I did not die, as you can plainly see. And we were blessed with a beautiful daughter - Xena was a troublesome little tyke. Always getting into things. She was too young to know how to control her powers. Sometimes they went off at random and she'd paralyze someone by accident." she said with a fond smile. "The visions frightened her at first. But she soon grew used to it, and learned how to control her powers. I will never forget how unhappy Zire was when he learned his teenage daughter had a crush! He insisted that the boy would end up with a broken neck if he ever came near his daughter. She soon brought word that he was a vampire. She did not know, seeing as she did not have the ability to automatically sense vampires, and he wore colored contacts to blend in all the more. Though, when he learned that she had taken a liking to him, he revealed his vampiric nature and was glad to find out that she was one, too. That made Zire a bit happier, but not by a lot. The day after, she announced that they had begun dating. I was ecstatic to meet the boy. Zire, however... Well, I had to take every ounce of matches, lighters, and explosives he had just in case. And that was when she brought him home. A handsome boy, he was. Quite the character, too. Liam and Xena have been together ever since then, though two years ago they got married. Beautiful ceremony, really. And that's how Liam entered our growing family. Serena was a friend of Kale's, and, with no home, we took her in. Jayk, Liam's brother, had been with his brother forever. We couldn't seperate them, and so we offered he to stay. Lidia joined our now quite large family much like the way Liam did - Through dating and marrying Kale." Essa finished. "Motherhood is very rewarding. The first few years are a bit difficult, but vampiric children learn and grow much faster than normal children. They can speak only a couple weeks after a birth. A month after, some can move with great speed - half the top speed of adults, but still quite fast - and have the same grace as their parents. By a year, they can often do many things on their own. However difficult it may be starting out, it really is an amazing experiance to watch them grow and live. It strengthened my relationship with Zire by a lot, not to mention give us both a great sense of accomplishment."

[Lilo.]

"You make it sound all so easy." Kadina sighed again, at least it had helped her allot. "You're just like this perfect mother, all your children loving you, it's just amazing." She shrugged, that was all she could get out of her mouth as she tried to think of things to say. "I'm still convinced Tristan's in a mood with me about having children though."

"If you believe that I'm the perfect mother, you should've seen me back then!" Essa laughed. "I was a terrible mother, seeing as I'd never done it before and I had no mother to base what I should do off of. Don't worry. Your children will love you all the same no matter if you are or aren't the best mother in the world. It isn't easy at first, but it becomes quite easy after a few years, seeing as by then, vampire children can do almost everything on their own." she said with a smile. "I imagine that he's frightened and confused. As a man who is so used to running off without having to take care of a child, he's probably wondering what it'll be like. I know for a fact that he's also very afraid that he will be a terrible father, that the kids will despise him and that he'll disappoint you. Really, none of you have anything to worry about. It becomes very easy after a while, but the incredible feeling you get from seeing your children so accomplished, the proudness you get from looking at that grown-up child and knowing that you are the one who made it possible, is all worth it. Trust me."

[Lilo.]

"Tristan's going to be a wonderful father, I know." Kadina nodded truthfully as she let a smile creep up onto her face- an affectionate smile that hadn't had a reason to surface for a few days, up until now. "Even if he doesn't always get up early in the morning."

Essa chuckled. "Lazy kid." she commented with a smile, shaking her head. Glancing up the stairs, she spotted Tristan plodding down them while yawning. "Speak of the devil." she said, smiling to her son. "Look who decided to get up.

"Give me a break, I haven't slept in like a week." Tristan rolled his eyes. He glanced from Kadina to Essa, narrowing his eyes playfully. "Do I even want to know what's going on here?"

[Lilo.]

"No, no, it was nothing you'd be interested in." Kadina promised him, skipping over to him in that charming way she often used, slinking her arms around his neck lovingly. If there was nothing more she loved than having a life with Tristan it was Tristan himself.

"Suspicious..." Tristan commented, a smile lighting up his face. He locked his arms around Kadina's waist, pulling her into a sweet little kiss, amused to find that when he pulled away, Essa had disappeared. "Wonder where she's off to in such a hurry."

[Lilo.]

"I'm not sure, Tristan." Kadina shrugged after she'd accepted the small, cute kiss that Tristan had so generously offered her. "Did you have a nice sleep then after I'd come down to talk to Essa?" She pondered, intertwining their fingers romantically.
