Tristan was going to reply when the dark figures silenced him. He narrowed his eyes, knowing that each and every vampire there had tensed up, even just the slightest, at the mere sight of the High League. In only seconds, they were there, and Tristan had stepped forward to meet the leaders.
Darien stopped in front of Tristan, smiling as if he were laying eyes upon a lifelong friend, though his stare sent chills through the group. "Hello, Tristan." he said brightly, as if today were just a fabulous day.
"Darien." Tristan replied edgily. "May I ask what honor you bestow upon us now?" he spat sarcastically, supressing the growl that rose in his throat.
Darien chuckled. "You know why we are here. It is because of the children." he said simply, gesturing to Kadina. His smile instantly disappeared, replaced by a firm frown. "You know the rules, Tristan. You've broken them far too many times. We can't just let you off with a warning anymore. The word spreads around, boy - They'll think we've gone soft. Soon everyone'll be breaking the rules. We just can't allow that, can we?"
Tristan let out a low growl. "You know that this time the rule breaking wasn't intended, nor was it by fault. Simply an accident that you misinterpreted."
Darien snarled, though Dawn extended an arm in front of him, which stopped him and broke him out of his attack-ready pose. "You knew perfectly well what would happen. We don't appreciate humans being made into one of us; But we allowed it with no prosecution. However, we simply cannot stand for children who are not true vampires. You know what happens to the mother. You know what happens to the children themselves." he said, shaking his head.
Tristan glanced down. The one part he left out when explaining everything to Kadina - The part about what happened to vampiric children who were not true in blood. He bit his lip, remaining silent for a moment. "Yes. I do know what happens. I should not of allowed this." he said quietly, his eyes trained downward. He swallowed. "And I will take full responsibility for this situation. I will take the punishment fully. This is my fault entirely, and nobody else shall be blamed for my actions." he said, looking up.
Darien smiled lightly. "Ah, if only all law-breakers could own up to their mistakes. I was expecting us to have to take you in by force. I greatly appreciate you surrendering so easily, Tristan." he frowned once again, though. "However, you know what your punishment will have to consist of. It's a shame, really. Though, since you made this so much easier for us, we will not condemn you to death, although your punishment will not be in any form enjoyable." he said, moving toward Tristan.
"Thank you, Darien." Tristan sighed, dreading the punishment that would come. If the law-breaker was not condemned to death, they were very lucky - However, the torture that was their punishment often made them wish they were. He would be free in a couple of days time, though until then, he knew he would face endless pain.
Darien glared at Tristan. Seconds later, he dropped onto his knees with a pained scream, the crimson in his eyes washing over the gold. Darien sighed. "I'm sorry it had to come to this." he said. Seconds later, the horrible bone-chilling screams that came from Tristan ceased as he fell forward onto the ground, completely still.
