"Yes, I'm a knight," said James. "Last night, I remember getting out of bed. I don't know why I would do such a thing, but I did. I walked out into the courtyard, then there was a flash. Then I don't remember." She frowned. James prided herself on having an excellent memory.

Alistair sighed happily as another one of them started to pet him. Too bad they'll die or be turned into creatures, he thought. But then again, being out of your original form isn't so bad. He flicked his tail and wondered if he should tell them. He was pretty sure that was Icarus' job, though.

//Okay, then we'll have to wait until capi posts before I bring Icarus in and let them into the labyrinth, I suppose.//
I'm considering taking a collab partner to help me color! If you're interested, please PM me with an example of your work. Thanks!

((Gah! DX SO sorry I'm late! Had a bit of a prolonged band practice. ^^"))

Benjamin Kline, the small, skinny boy with thick eyebrows and round glasses, awoke with a loud, irritated groan. While he was off in dreamland his torso had decided to become like a tree; stiff, and unwilling to move without a fight, we won't even get into the matter of his legs. With a lot of various cracking and snapping sounds, he lifted himself up with one hand while, with the other, attempted to pry open his sleep-weighted eyes, rubbing most of the sand-man's dirt out of them.

He opened his eyes to a group of kids about his age, probably a little older. They were all standing about as if they had no idea what was going on, how daft, Benjamin thought, they all look so...what? Where am I? It was then that he realized that he was indeed sitting in a grassy clearing, sunlight bounced off the rims of his circle spectacles, and the crisp smell of fresh morning air intruded upon his nose.

"What...? What is this? Some kind of cruel prank? Figures this sort of company would pull this." he whispered under his breath. He glanced around at all the different people of obviously different social classes, no thoughts went through his mind imparticular as he clawed at the silky grass. They all seemed to be either pampered boys and girls, or knights of the king and queen, which, of course, he admired secretly, and...a cat. A cat? Is this a dream? The boy thought, stylishly pushing his glasses back up his straight nose....Ridiculous.

Benjamin raised his thick eyebrows as he sighed, and ran his hand through his shining black hair before raising himself sturdily upon his skinny legs, noting that his small, brown bag was conveniently hanging over his left shoulder. After quickly balancing himself upright, he straightened his overcoat's collar and shook the dirt off of his inconveniently bare feet, mumbling the whole time about when he was going to wake up.

In reply to what Sky said, Dylan answered, "All I know is that I was getting ready to go meet some princess with my former trainer. I got on the horse and rode there. When we entered the castle grounds, I had to go change into something fancier, and when I was leaving my room, I heard a wierd noise and blacked out. Hear I am." At fancier, he had indicated his royal blue shirt and black pants. "Luckily," he said while reaching into his riding boot, "I kept this." He said as he slid out a small, very sharp, dagger.

((KeiraO, did you read my last post? This is your second warning.

capi, It's okay ^^))

Sky looked at the glinting dagger in Dylan's hand, and was about to reply when she heard a slight rustling in one of the nearby trees. She went still for a moment and before she could ask Dylan if he'd heard it too, a raven, black as midnight, hopped into view on one of the lower branches. Sky turned to face it.
---
Icarus saw the last human awake and flew onto a closer branch, now in their view. He explained the labyrinth to them. "No one has ever escaped, but with good luck, no one can be sure of what fate awaits you all. Maybe you will be the first, or maybe you will be enchanted, as many of the creatures within these walls. The labyrinth will be tricky and not everything is as it seems. Nor is everything fair. Be mindful, children. Be mindful and keep moving, each moment is precious," he concluded, lifting off from the branch and flying over to the wall to the left of the group.
---
After the raven, who had introduced himself as Icarus, flew over the 10 foot tall stone wall, the moss crackled softly as it was ripped when the stone began sliding back slowly, grinding against the stone beneath it. It revealed more walls of the same with various turns. Sky, shaking herself out of her state of shock, looking at the rest of the group before taking the first steps towards the entrance. "Well, I suppose we had better get started," she said curiously as she walked.

Nathaniel's face remained motionless as the raven spoke, but inside he was confused. This couldn't all be happening. Ravens do not speak, nor were labyrinths enchanted. He had thousands of questions to ask the raven but it flew away before he could get a word out. It hadn't explained how they had arrived here, or even why they were here.

He frowned as the stone wall opened to reveal the large maze. Nathaniel forced back panic. Of course he could get out of this. He had a weapon and he knew how to use it. His years of thieving had also helped him develop a talent for being able to pass from place to place unseen. He glanced at the one girl, Sky, as she stepped forward. Should he stay with them or go on his own? It was hard to know what would leave him with a better chance for survival. He walked after her quietly, deciding that for now, he would stay with them and see what they were up against.

Shylynn listened silently before letting her light eyes follow the raven as it flew off. She took a deep breath then started to walk. Her cloak fluttered slightly behind her as shee moved not paying really anymind to the others. She didn't want to have to rely on them. Her hair fell over her face covering it slightly hiding the way she glanced at them all as she walked past. She chewed her lip lightly though as she walked, that was the only thing that outwrdly displayed the slight fear that she harbored.

James stared in disbelief at the raven as it spoke. This place was getting stranger by the moment. She shook her head an pulled out her sword.
"I might be needing this..." she murmered, running her finger over the broad side of the sword. She intended to lead this group if she could.

-----------------

"Well, then," said Alistair in a strangely human voice. "You better get moving." His lips quirked into a small smile.

Slowly slipping the dagger back in his boot, Dylan faced the large raven. "You can talk?"

By the time the raven had began talking, Emilee was sure she was dreaming. Or at least hoped she was. This was too strange to be real.. She listened as the raven spoke, and even though it was fairly warm outside, the words 'no one has ever escaped' sent a chill running down her back. She glances around the small group, studying each of their expressions. Confused. That was the expression on most of their faces.
She turns her attention to Sky as she spoke about going through the labyrinth. "You're going to go in there?" she murmurs, hesitant to follow. In fear of what might be waiting for them inside.
