"Now to drown you, because I'm going to have Aqua Mirage equip onto Sabre Shark!", said Regina as the monster in questions started to glow and a shadow appeared underneath it, "And is the extra fun part where things get even better! See if I plan on using the monster equipped with it in an Xyz Summoning, then I can treat Aqua Mirage as a monster who is the same level as whatever monster it is equipped to! Sabre Shark is level four so it becomes the same as a second level four monster!" The shark on the teen's field transformed into brightly colored light blue light. Beside it the spell card did the same transforming into a darker blue light. "I overlay level four Sabre Shark and Aqua Mirage! Together I use them to build the Overlay Network!", the girl shouted raising a hand over her head as both lights flew up twisting around each other into the sky before streaking back towards the ground. A spiraling galaxy hole opening up to swallow them. On the top of Regina's left hand a red glowing ruin-like 37 appeared. "I Xyz Summon! Rise from the depths of the sea, Number Thirty Seven Hope Woven Dragon Spider Shark!", the green haired duelist shouted removing a card from her extra deck and setting it on her duel disk.

What appeared to be a massive blue flower appeared rising from the center of the spiraling network the previous cards had disappeared into. It hovered there on the field for a moment before starting to open up much like a flower in bloom. Only this was no flower. First a long tail fin unfurled hanging from behind the summoned thing. A oversized pair of claws followed afterwards with the left bearing the same ruin number on it as Regina had on the same location. When the rest of the monster opened up what was left was a beast that appeared to be some kind of cross between a shark, spider and dragon. Two glowing overly units circled around it. The creature let out a ear aching roar.

This time, a small grunt escaped Yolei's lips as pain surged in her head once again. She wasn't sure what a number monster was, but something about it roused a deep, primal feeling inside of her. Not quite fear, but something else. Was it... hatred?

Either way, it was clear that the monster had to go. "I activate Stellarknight Delteros' ability!" she called out. "By using one overlay unit, I can destroy one card on your side of the field. Beach that shark with Solstice Barrage!" Delteros' shield began to glow, and rays of light shot from each corner, arcing inwards towards Regina's monster.

Regina didn't looked bothered. "A waste of a perfectly good overlay unit!", the girl declared as the rays of light collided with her newly summoned monster. However the WATER Xyz Monster simply roared as it's claws tore through the dust that was kicked up looking perfectly fine and very much still on the field.

"What?" Yolei gasped, looking down at her duel disk. That should have worked. Regina's monster didn't have any abilities that prevented it from being destroyed, so why was it still standing? What was going on here? This duel was supposed to be over already, there shouldn't have been anything that could have stopped her next attack. Still, all wasn't lost yet. The loss of an overlay unit had dropped her monster's power down to 2900, but it was still stronger. For now, she was safe.

The look on Yolei's face was priceless...priceless and familiar. She herself had had that exact same look on her face before. It was during the first time the green haired girl had dueled against a Number, and was it ever the nasty shock. To see the surprise and confusion again really did bring memories back from growing up. And those only made her angrier. "Funny. I had that same look on my face the when I faced a Number for the first time too. Now then where were we? I hope you didn't really think to end this duel on your second turn?", said Regina, "Number 37 Hope Woven Dragon Spider Shark attack Stellarknight Delteros and rip him to shreds with Torrential Rend!"

The shark snarled as it's oversized claws became covered in blue energy before it charged ahead towards the opposing Xyz Monster.

"Oh and one more thing, because one of us declared an attack I can choose to activate Hope's special ability. Which I think I will. So, by using one overlay unit, the attack points of all my opponent's monsters are lowered by 1000! Abyssal Zone Designation!", the teen added.

One of the glowing lights circling around the attacking shark was snatched by the monster and eaten. The next second, it roared sending out a sonar-like sonic wave rippling across the dueling field.

Yolei winced as Regina's monster tore through Delteros, dropping her life points to 3300. Not a lot of damage, but the feeling of irrational anger inside her intensified. Being struck by the monster felt wrong somehow, like she'd just been touched by something unclean. This number card apparently couldn't be destroyed by card effects, but she still needed to get rid of it. Not because it might cost her the duel, but because she didn't like the feelings it was causing. Regina clearly wasn't herself, and Yolei couldn't help but feel she wasn't either. Fortunately, the thought she had a way. "Delteros may be destroyed," she said, but the stars are eternal, and so are my knights! When Delteros is sent to the graveyard, I can summon another Satellarknight from my hand or deck. I summon Satellarknight Rigel!" A burst of light flashed from Yolei's deck, and another warrior rose, clad in white, blue and gold.

"I set two cards face down and end my turn.", Regina finished as a pair of cards appeared on the field before disappearing.

Yolei wasn't smiling anymore as she drew her card. It was clear that something else was going on in this duel. When Regina's monster hit her, it hurt. Not the phantom pain that was natural with AR, but real pain. The situation had become dangerous, she needed to end it quickly. "I summon Satellarknight Altair in attack mode," she said, another white and blue warrior rising on her side of the field. "Using his ability, I bring back Satellarknight Alsahm from my graveyard, who once again hits you with one thousand points of damage." Alsahm took the field once more, firing another arrow at Regina.

Regina scowls as she staggers back when the arrow flies right through her. It taking a thousand of her life points with it.

"Now, I overlay my three level four monsters once again," Yolei said. "I'm not sure where you got that card, Regina, but don't think it's won you the duel. Herald of Winter, come forth and bathe the world in your light! I summon Stellarknight Triverr!" Another armored warrior took the field, similar to Delteros in shape, save that its shield was upside-down. "When Stellarknight Triverr enters the field," the duelist continued, "all other cards are returned to their owners' hands. Shine forth, Boreal Radiance!" A ring of light blossomed from the monster, spreading slowly outward and erasing everything it touched.
