This rp picks up from where ZEXAL left off.

It's been awhile since the defeat of the Bairian diety Don Thousand at the hands of Yuma Tsukumo, Astral, Kite Tenjo and Reginald Kastle and all that time HeartLand City has been at peace. Astral used the Numeron Code to merge Barian World and Astral World together, while reviving their fallen friends. The city is now run by the combined efforts of the Vetrix and Tenjo families from HeartLand. All 100 Number Cards are safe in Yuma and Astral's possession. Lately these past few years the only challenge for the gang has been raising the next generation of duelists.....until recently.

It started in Astral World with gathering clouds but now there are signs someone is attempting to gather Chaos leaking into Earth. While the previous generation has moved again into action to pull this threat into the open. However with a new and unknown threat starting to make itself known, times change. The solution? The new generation of duelists and the Number Cards given to them by Yuma and Astral to combat this rising new threat to peace on both Earth and Astral World.

*before anybody asks...yes I am allowing the Numbers to still exist and people may have them BUT if you wish for an oc to have a number then please mention which one and how in your form. I am limiting it one Number per oc. Also the only one to obtain one is from Astral and Yuma. They will be giving/have given these cards to the new gang of heros so please mention how they gave your oc his or her Number in your form.
*have at least basic knowledge about what you are doing. Remember this was the Xyz Generation.
*if you have an oc related to the Vetrix or Tenjo families then their abilities are allowed to be passed to your oc (Photon Transformation and the like).
*no offspring of Don Thousend please. I know this is obvious but I feel like I should say this now just in case because you never know.
*you can use preexisting cards/decks or make your own as long as they are not undefeatable. even Exodia had a weakness....
*have fun with your characters and bring in plot twists and stuff to keep things going
*if you have an idea for an arc then tell me
*the only established pairing is Yuma and Tori, but the other Canons can have children or descendants as well anyway. In fact that is what I encourage.

-having a Number Card is not a requierment to join the roleplay and any OC may have one, as long as they follow the general rules on how they recieved their Number. In other words they have to have some how received it from Yuma since he and Astral have all of them.

-Number on hold for offspring of a specific Cannon. The offspring the Number is reserved for will be listed next to the name of the card. Of course Cannon's ofspring are welcomed to choose other Numbers to have if they wish, but they do have first dibs on the Numbers that are reserved for them as offspring.
-only one Number per oc as a general rule. Numbers 13 and 31 are the only exception to this rule, as they go together as a pair.
-Numbers 1-5 are sealed and not avaliable for right now and are not on the list as a result.

-The seven Mytherian Numbers are marked as so and are reserved for the offspring of the Cannons whose legends they represent

Regina plays an Xyz WATER Deck consisting of monstrous looking sea creatures such as various races of sharks and arthropods. It's an exact replica of the deck used by her namesake, but with a few additions and changes. Minor though they may be. It's aggression tends to clash with Regina's more gentle appearance and nature.

As far as strategy goes, Regina tends to focus on Xyz Summoning one of her three main Xyz Monsters: Submersible Carrier Aero Shark, Tri-Edge Levia or Abyss Dweller. Each of her Xyz Monsters can be sorted into one of three kinds of categories: "Submersible Carrier Aero Shark" deals damage directly to her opponent according to the cards in her hand, "Tri-Edge Levia" weakens her opponent's monsters on the field, while "Abyss Dweller" empowers it's allies as well as locks down Regina''s opponent's graveyard. However, when in particularly tough duels, the teen calls on her Deck Ace Xyz Summoning Number 37: Hope Woven Dragon Spider Shark. To help with this she relies on her Field Spell known as Lemuria, the Forgotten City and the field swarming capabilities of her deck.

Number 37: Hope Woven Dragon Spider Shark. Regina received her Number from her father as a reminder that he and everybody else who cared about her would always be with her no matter the circumstances or distance. She would never be alone and could overcome anything that she set her mind to over coming.

Regina is the daughter of Tori Tsukumo and Yuma Tsukumo. Upon her birth, it was Yuma who suggested naming the newborn little girl "Regina" after Reginald Kastle...one of the family's closets friends who so happens to be her guardian should misfortune rear it's head. Tori was quick to agree to the baby's new name. Together they raised their daughter happily in Heartland City. There was no doubt the little girl was surrounded by an environment where she wanted for nothing emotional or material.

Growing up in the Tsukumo household, little Regina was no stranger to the art of dueling as she often begged her parents and their friends to duel. These requests often being met with amused compliance on the adult's parts. It was during her time watching these duels between the more experienced adults that started to shape her future as a duelist. And, indeed, as a whole. Though she paid careful attention throughout each duel, it was the only thing she really paid attention to as a child for more then a minute at best, the little girl started to pay particular attention a certain dark purple haired man's duels. For some reason her uncle Shark seemed to have most of Regina's attention even compared to her father. (This comically did not sit well with Yuma and, as a result, caused more duels between the two experienced duelists. Meaning that Regina only grew more attached to Shark's duels.) It wasn't much longer until Regina expressed an interest to become a duelist herself. Her deck of choice? One built around WATER attributed monsters with emphasis around the underwater predators.

This mostly takes the form of a pulse-like sensation going through her body that seems to originate, or have something to do, with her own Number. The closer the Number or source of Chaos is to her, then the stronger and more urgent the pulses become.

personality;; Kio's most defining characteristic is his dogged approach to matters on which he has formed a strong opinion. He proves to be extremely stubborn, unwilling to budge on his beliefs no matter how foolish or naïve they might seem. This same stubbornness can be seen in the way he sets his mind to completing a task, often overexerting himself after losing track of everything else. This is made all the worse by his pride, which often prevents him from asking for help when he needs it. Kio can be slow to trusting others, refusing to open his heart to them until they have proven themselves worthy of his friendship.

It can also be made clear that Kio seems to possess a certain level of cunning and intellect. When faced with a problem, he is able to swiftly adapt and create his own solution to overcoming the obstacle before him. He is also, despite his mistrusting nature, able to tell when others are burdened by troubles, reading their body language rather than their faces, and is always willing to lend an ear to his friends. At the same time, Kio is more than content to conceal his own worries, playing the role of a sturdy pillar of support to his friends while hiding the cracks in his own foundations.

Kio has an odd, often contradictory approach to social situations. While displaying the sharp tongue and brutally honest mannerisms of an aloof and introverted person, he is also capable of showing the friendliness and humorous wit of an extrovert around those he trusts. While not above pointing out the failures of others in a harshly straightforward or sarcastic manner, Kio is just as willing to admit to his own faults and shortcomings. He is quite capable of enjoying the company of her friends, but prefers solitude to the presence of those who lack any genuine concern for him.

Finally, Kio is known to be quite the free spirit, understanding the importance of certain limitations but proving quite opinionated when he views something as enforcing too much control. He also possesses a strong sense of what is right and wrong, an unwavering sense of justice that sees him pursuing his goals with the fervor of a ram. While willing to tell lies if they protect others, Kio refuses to lie if he is the only one that will benefit. Altogether, the teen is a genuine individual who is not afraid to embrace all of who he is, irregardless of how others view him.
history;; It is a sad day when one awakens to the sound of a baby crying, even sadder for the parents who had to leave their child on the doorstep of an orphanage. Shikio Silvers, best known to others as Kio, is the only child of Rio and Quattro. Though they seemed like an unlikely pair, there was little doubt that the love shared between them was genuine. They were so excited when they learned they had a child on the way, but their joy did not last for long. Fate, it seemed, was showing no kindness to the two, as it was around this time darkness started to rear its head once more.

With so many concerns, the two realized they could not be parents. Not when they would be needed elsewhere, when they would be pulled away so often. They left Shikio on the steps of Silvers House, an orphanage on the outskirts of Heartland City, with hopes that he would grow up in a welcoming environment.

For the most part, their wishes were realized. Shikio was happy to grow up aound his 'siblings', happy to be their brother for however long they stayed. Yet something always seemed to be lacking in his life, a void was always so evident. It was a gap his wings were not strong enough to carry him across, an empty darkness that consumed him. It was a yearning to know where his parents were, who they were and why they left him. This darkness would result in his falling into a coma after losing control of the abilities that dwelled within him. Abilities he inherited from his mother. The powers of a Barian.
abilities;; Athletic - Despite his looks, Kio is quite in shape and mantains his build through running and swimming. He also has a habit of climbing to high places, seeming almost like a bird in his habits.

Barian- A recently awakened power, Kio is half-Barian and so can take on a Barian form seemingly without the need for the circumstances his mother requires. However, doing so seems to have a negative impact on his body, his first uncontrolled transformation going so far as to send him into a coma.

personality - Yolei is a bizarre mix of outgoing and awkward, guaranteed to make people uneasy, though they're not quite sure about what. She's incredibly friendly, and constantly upbeat, but there's something off about her all the same. Maybe it's her smile, just a bit too wide and held for a bit too long. Maybe it's her touchy-feely demeanor, and her bone-crushing grip she's apparently unaware of. It's easy enough to see she's harmless, but some people can't help but be put-off by her.
history - Yolei's history isn't very interesting. Or very widely known. She just sort of showed up one day, the only child of the wealthy Akido family, deck in hand and ready to duel. Rumor has it that she suffers from some rare disease, treated in secret by a private doctor. Nobody knows for sure though.

Heartland Pier was quiet. Then again there really was no reason why it would be anything but, even if it was bustling with people going about their jobs. Here everybody was too set on loading or unloading goods from ships to bother with much else, so things were pretty much always easy. Though even if the pier workers bothered paying attention to anything else the green haired teen would be left be. Well aside from a check in every once and awhile not wanting a missing kid on their hands. It was part of this place's appeal that drew the young teen to where city met water on a near regular basis. To sit at the edge of the docks and let her feet dangle carelessly above the water and smell the salty air... It was her sanctuary. Her little getaway. It was a place where the teen could come and clear her head. She could escape the normal sounds of the rest of Heartland City here for an hour or two.

And did Regina need to clear her head right then. Having gone home after school to find her house empty all except for a note, the teen decided coming here would be best. Or at least it was better then staying and fuming at home. Seeing her parents, or any of her family, was the last thing she wanted right now. Regina closed her eyes letting her body relax listening to the pleasent sounds of the pier.

Yolei wasn't quite sure why she'd gone to the pier. She had never really liked the ocean. It was deep, and dark, and scary. She didn't like things she couldn't see completely. Still, here she was. The duelist wandered around the docks, waving and smiling at the sailors and deckhands that passed. Some of them waved back, other just kept going. That was okay, though, they were busy.

Somehow, Yolei found herself at the end of the pier, staring off into the water. It was so blue. And so random. Tiny waves moved this way and that, with no real pattern. She looked for as long as she could, before turning away. It was too unsettling.

The teen had no idea exactly how long she had been sitting there. She could spend, had spent, several hours at the pier before without realizing it. Though she was sure she had not been there quite that long this time. Regina stared out over the water letting events replay in her head....the very events that lead her here in the first place. The green haired girl could still not believe what she had seen.

Kio Silvers was a Barian. Or at least she supposed he was half Barian.

Regina felt her fist curl up into white knuckles at the thought of the boy she should have know since being a young child. It wasn't anger directed at him, rather at his parents and her parents and everyone for keeping this secret. Why? How could they just leave and forget a baby like they had? Regina had to remind herself to release the breath she was unaware of holding back slowly. Her fist slowly unfolding itself and color returning to her knuckles. Kio was alone unconscious in that hospital room. It was that thought that made up the teen's mind as far as her next action. Regina stood and headed back towards the docks from her spot at the pier's end. The green haired girl's mind was too focused on hoping none of the adults were visiting as well to notice accidently brushing up against Yolei as both girls passed by each other.

The sound of a heart monitor echoed through the hospital room, one of the only signs that its occupant was still among the living.

Beep. Beep.

The hospital staff all agreed that it seemed unfair for someone so young to be in such an unresponsive state, his normally unkempt locks falling like a pale blue cover over his pillow, red eyes blinded to the world by a slumber so deep and complete. No, it wasn't far at all for the boy to be in such a state of deep unconsciousness, trapped inside his mind like a caged bird.

Shikio didn't wish to be in this state either, for it left him with far too much time to nternally reflect upon what had brought him to this point. It had just been a duel, just one simple duel to understand someone he had just met that day. Then something had snapped out of nowhere, something had happened to wrest control from him. He'd been trapped long before falling into a coma, but at least he could see for all that it was worth, though he supposed there was little comfort to be found in that. Few things felt more imprisoning than to see what you were doing but having no control over your actions.

Shikio supposed he shouldn't be too surprised by what had happened, though. He'd always known there was a darkness inside him, a vast chasm that no set of wings could ever carry him across, for the chasm was of his own making. It was born out of his own resentment, of the unspoken question that plagued him night and day. Why? Why had his parents left him? Did they not love him? Was that why he had never been adopted? Was he doomed to watch others earn their happiness, earn their freedom from Silvers House? From that place he had gotten his last name?

The young man had tried so hard to fill that gap in his heart, tried to surround himself with the family he tried to convince himself existed at that orphanage. Tried to attain a sense of freedom by climbing to high places. None of it ever worked. Time and time again, Shikio watched as the other kids came and went. Time and time again he had to come back down to the ground with all its resrictions. Try as he might, Shikio could never rid himself of the darkness created by his own thoughts.

That was probably why he was here now, closed off in his mind like a caged bird. No, perhaps it was wiser to say that he was now facing his reality. He was no drifting in the darkness he kept bottled up, now made the caged bird he tried to pretend he wasn't.

Beep. Beep.

Alone in his head with nothing but his thoughts for company, Shikio asked the one question he had asked himself for years. Was there anyone out there that cared?

"Oh!" Yolei exclaimed as someone bumped her shoulder. Normally she was more aware of her surroundings, but looking at the ocean had gotten her all frazzled. "My apologies, I wasn't looking where I was going." Even as she apologized, the girl's eyes were roving over the stranger, sizing her up. She didn't much look the type to be out on the pier, though Yolei supposed she didn't really have room to judge. She also couldn't help but notice the deck at the strange girl's hip. Another duelist, then.

Regina really needed to not let her thoughts get the better of her when she was walking in public. Or any time in all honesty. The girl could be a bit airheaded on a good day, but it was especially bad when when something actually distracted her. The green haired girl stopped turning to Yolei having been jostled from her distracted state. Realizing what happened, "N-no no! It was my fault, entirely my fault! I was a little distracted and wasn't really watching where I was going. Are you okay?" The green haired teen smiled apologetically at the other girl hoping she wasn't upset. She didn't say anything about being surprised to find someone else who didn't work visiting the docks. There had never been any other visitors here before but her. Though maybe considering none that she had noticed was better.




At the hospital...
"Here we are ma'am. Here is room 302 as you requested.", said the nurse as she stepped to the side gesturing towards the hospital room door she'd stopped at, "He is in a comatose state at the moment I am afraid, but company maybe just what he needs. If you need anything else please do not hesitate to come ask."

"Thank you, it's very much appreciated.", replied the blue haired women.

The nurse nodded before leaving after casting a sad glance into the room.

Rio, meanwhile, hesitated just staring ahead at the room's unconscious occupant. She hadn't wanted to believe it. She didn't want to believe what her gut was telling her when the monitors picked up on a sudden swell of Barian Energy coming from Duel Academy. But something inside the women told her that her gut instinct was correct. A phone call from a concerned former classmate only solidified her guess before the women took off for the hospital. The two toned blue haired women sat beside the hospital bed. Rio had arrived as soon as she could after hearing the news and gone to Kio's side. Rio kept her gaze on the unconscious boy in the medical bed with a hand carefully wrapped around his nearest her. Her thumb gently running over the top of the boy's hand over and over again.
