🌹 Petunia - - SR880 (deviant?) - location;; alleyway - mentions;; Henry

Unbidden, Petunia's LED flickered yellow as she considered how to respond. EV700-no, Henry; his name was Henry-didn't know of her deviancy (?), and, heartless as it sounds, she wasn't sure if it would be wise to blab about it. They have become familiar with each other through work, but the last time they crossed paths have been a while ago.
There was something definitely off about the android, however. While his speech protocols remained unaffected, he's noticeably upset, fidgeting with his wrist, pupils darting. He's shaken.

Before she could get any words out, Henry's eyes flicked to something behind her. He tugged her arm (her LED flashed red at the sudden movement before comprehending his intent), leading the way further down the alleyway. Tune fought the temptation to turn around and look back at whatever had Henry so agitated; acting uneasy would only increase suspicion. She kept her sensors on high alert, crouching down as nonchalantly as possible behind a stack of bricks. Her hands are shaking. Hah. How human.
She crossed her arms to hide the tremor.

"EV700, I could say the same for you." She responded, mimicking his speech pattern. "I-I've been regrettably...retired from the botany team." Unbidden, her voice stuttered and her LED flickered. Technically not a lie. Doesn't answer Henry's question though.
"I've been trying to find a new place to...dorm? Reside? Inhabit?" This is bad, she's very evidently deviating from her pre-coded protocols. Time to change the subject.
"I don't mean to be intrusive, but are you..." Okay? Safe? In trouble?
"Do you require any assistance? Forgive me, but you appear to be in distress. Is your software in functional order?" She twisted her shirt hems, "I...I saw a human child run off, were you attacked?"

xxxxwren longed to escape this melancholy feeling. so, he let his eyes open, revealing the tainted beauty of the park. people still played and pranced around, but he needed something that wouldn't judge him, wouldn't care if he was an android or a human. so, when his gaze fell upon a group of brightly colored pigeons, an ecstatic feeling overwhelmed him. he didn't understand his avid fascination with birds, but he didn't have to. he only had to enjoy it.
xxxxgetting back onto his feet, wren made his way over to the creatures. they were pecking excitedly at the ground, trying their best to puncture the plastic wrapping of what appeared to be trampled crackers. they were on the edge of the main path, just out of the way of people's feet. a little visible, but wren didn't tax himself with caring. he crouched near them, reaching out a hand.
xxxx"come here," he urged softly, showing the creature his wrist. it turned away from it's longed to be snack, cocking it's head and pecking wren's skin. he felt a smile grow on his face as it cooed, hopping onto wren's forearm. its minuscule talons dug into his skin, creating tiny pinpricks of blue. it's pupils expanded in their fiery sphere, enjoying the certain animal-attracting features engraved into wren's entire being. "hey little buddy," wren greeted cheerfully, struggling to keep his grin under control. the pigeon cooed in response, and wren laughed, letting the bird walk up and down his wrist, intrigued with the person it was perched upon. the other pigeons began to take notice of their missing friend, some abandoning the package in favor of investigating wren.
xxxxnow, wren began to take pictures, storing image after image in his internal storage. these will be wondrous to look back on, he thought happily, pleased with the photos. his LED flashed each time he took one, the blue glow thankfully hidden well under the shadow of his cap.

sam | 27 | male | pansexual | location; park | tags; wren | human

Sam kept wandering through the park, and eventually, he found something to peak his interest. A man—younger than him, by the looks of it—was submerged in a cloud of pigeons. A few were clambering on him, and Sam couldn't help but mirror the infectious joy on the other's face. Sam settled beneath a tree nearby, careful not to draw the man nor the pigeons' attention. He fished his sketch book and pencil from beneath his arm and started to sketch out the man's silhouette. The rough drawing eventually gained more pigeons and a vague semblance of a background; Sam did his best to capture to his model's exact expression, but it was difficult with the man's cap obscuring half his face in shadow.

Huffing under his breath, Sam chewed the tip of his pencil and compared his drawing to the real thing. It was a poor copy to reality—all harsh lines and black and white instead of the vibrant colors and tangible emotion. Good enough, he decided. Careful not to smudge the fresh graphite, Sam closed the sketch book and tucked his pencil safely into the pocket of his jeans. He gave the man and the pigeons another glance, mulling over whether or not to go say hello. He had just been staring at him for a good unbroken ten minutes; saying hello and thanking him for being such and interesting model was the least he could do.

Sam combed a hand through his tangled hair, doing his best to smooth the long strands, and dusted off a few stray leaves from his jacket and jeans. He approached the man, stopping when the pigeons began to skitter and balk away from him. Swallowing thickly, he forced down the trepidation rising in his throat. He definitely wasn't a people person.

"Hey," He started, wincing at the way his voice broke at the end. "I, uh—I was drawing and I... you and the pigeons were really good models." God, he was an absolute mess of a human being... Hoping his face wasn't too flushed with embarrassment, Sam pinned a smile onto his face and shoved his hands into his jacket pockets.

Most of her days were spent counting down the seconds, the minutes, the hours, till the restaurant closed. While she carried out her protocol it was always at the back of her mind, ticking endlessly. She couldn’t shut down her awareness of the time no matter how hard she tried. Deviancy wasn’t as great as one might expect, and there were days she wished to be mindless again. Even before those gunshots had awakened something within her though she’d still been conscious of how tedious her job was. No wonder humans didn’t want to serve each other and androids had been implemented as waiters. So many requests, fickle things, humans always finding something to complain about. She’d only been deviant for a week but it felt like much longer. Mila could always leave, it was a conversation she’d had with herself too many times during the night when the other androids were powered off. But they might chase after her, and she wouldn’t know where to go. There was too many questions surrounding the idea and so she was still stuck in the restaurant, pretending and hoping no one would notice.

All the other ‘staff’ were busy serving customers and Mila had simply been idling until she noticed a man sitting in the back booth. She’d almost missed him and silently cursed herself for it, one mistake and it could easily spell her downfall. She approached him slowly, keeping her movement as per normal for a waitress Android. Not that he could miss what she was, the word plastered over her uniform. “Excuse me sir but I was wondering if you would like to order. Unless you have already ordered?” Mila asked with that preprogrammed classic customer service smile. He didn’t look like he was worried about ordering but she was sure nothing had come through for this table, she just hoped that nothing in the way she spoke made it obvious as to what she really was. She did this every interaction, a moment where her simulated breathing almost hitched. Not giving herself away was getting harder each day as she grew sicker of her job.

He smiled at her in response to the small laugh, enjoying the ease of conversation. It reminded him how much he hated cutting himself off from the world like he had been. Talking to a friend was such a relief after days lying around in a dark apartment. “Of course I’ll make time for the next one. I should probably write it down in my planner this time,” he said with a laugh. Ivy seemed so happy with the success her books had been receiving and the way she talked about the gifts she got from fans. She lit up entirely and he felt so proud of her. “That’s amazing Ivy!” he exclaimed, seriously impressed. Seeing how much she’d grown into this was brilliant and he was glad at least some humans were still managing to thrive even in the current state of Detroit.

Of course he couldn’t expect the conversation to be just one way. She looked up at him with eager eyes and he almost didn’t have the heart to say that he wasn’t doing... the best. He’d been neglecting to tell her that he’d been let down from his job position, even thought they had communicated a little since then he’d just seen no reason to bring it up. Awkwardly one hand went to adjust the cuffs of his sweater, just simply as a way to ground himself. He was typically rather honest but losing his job, the thing that kept him happiest, had been a lot. He’d accepted it openly, a sign of change for the far superior androids. Didn’t mean it hadn’t hurt. “I’ve been alright,” he approached it carefully. “I have a lot of free time now though, since I lost my job. About time I suppose, they finally brought in new University Professor androids that are cheaper and smarter than me.” Benjamin said softly, still offering a smile though. “I’m fine though, I have savings so don’t worry about me. Just a small setback is all.”

She understood the need to be alone fully well, often excusing herself from the group and finding a place to just be by herself. As much as she cared for those in Jericho it often got to be too much, especially when her past still haunted her. Of course time had been passing and they needed him, maybe not right that instant, but everyone couldn’t just sit around and do nothing. So here she was, coming up to the rooftop to speak to him. She didn’t want to for long of course. There was an amount of respect for their leader, but also deep criticism. She still believed that the humans didn’t deserve all the chances they’d been giving them, they didn’t know peace. Humans were violent beings by nature.

She leaned against the back wall after she made it up, simply watching for a moment. It was calming up here where the light reflected the city. Her dark eyes focused on the figure of Markus sitting down and she took the moment to speak. ”You’ve been gone awhile. Thought I’d come up here and see how you were doing.” North’s voice disturbed the untouched atmosphere, nonchalant in nature. But it was a call back to reality, almost a warning to not let his thoughts get in the way of his people. She let her voice drift off, allowing Markus his time. There was no reason to rush him off the rooftop, no it urgent matter to attend to. Admittedly everything up here felt so disjointed from the rest of the world that she wanted to stay here too. An escape. “I like it up here,” North uttered quietly, pressing her head back against the wall with a sigh.

xxxxwren was just about to run his hand down a pigeon's back when the bird opened it's wings and flew a few feet away, cooing sharply. more followed it's actions, and even the one he befriended hopped off his hand. he was confused as to why they were leaving when he heard footsteps, slow, steady, causing more of his avian friends to jump away. his calm blue LED quickly jumped to yellow and he turned, surprised by the voice of whoever had just walked up to him.
xxxxthere was a man standing a few feet from him. a human. his hair was messy and his posture was casual, but his eyes showed different. his words were kind, however, and wren had no reason to feel threatened yet. so, he met the man's gaze and blinked, purposefully, storing another picture away for later.
xxxx"oh.. you drew me?" wren asked, genuinely confused. he looked at the man, trying to decipher something from his face. "thank you, i suppose. do you appreciate the birds as well?" he put his hand down, shuffling to the side a bit to coax the pigeon back into his grasp. it worked; it hopped excitedly back on wren's wrist, tiny claws puncturing his skin. "they are very sweet. i understand why someone would feel the need to capture their being." he snapped another photo. "though i don't believe the same logic would apply to me under any means."

Markus lifted his head when North started speaking. He had know she had been there since she first arrived, but he had been unwilling to break the peaceful silence. "It's quiet up here; it allows me to think clearly." The deviant stood and turned to face North. "Though sometimes I wonder if I should be left alone with my thoughts." He spoke in a low tone, tucking his arms behind his back.

At his companion's admittance, Markus looked back out across the city. A fresh gust of wind swept up the building face, and the high collar of Markus's jacket grazed his cheek as he peered off the edge of the roof. He could make out cars and ant-like people weaving their way though the streets; still, none of the harsh city sounds reached his ears. A hum of agreement escaped the android, and he raised his eyes to the nearly-cloudless sky. "How long do you think it will take? How more much suffering and fighting?" The words were heavier than Markus meant them to be, but he said them nonetheless. "Before they finally accept us for who we are?"

sam | 27 | male | pansexual | location; park | tags; wren | human

"Yeah, I like the birds. The pigeons, 'specially. Don't think they like me quite as well as they like you, though." Sam watched with slight awe as the man coaxed the cagey pigeon back onto his arm. Sam had managed to befriend a few pigeons around his usual haunts, but none of them were comfortable enough with his presence to get close enough to touch. The man crouched in front of him was on the Disney Princess level of animal friendship.

Feeling a bit awkward, Sam shifted. "I, uh—I like dynamic models to draw. You and your pigeons friends were very interesting. Guess you could say I was inspired." He admitted, drawing one hand out of his pocket to rub the back of his neck; it was a nervous tic he was unable to shake. Trying to play off the movement as natural, he ran another hand over his hair and pooled the dark strands into the hood of his coat. A thought struck him, and Sam pulled out his sketch book once more. "Could I... get your name, maybe? So I could title the drawing?" The papers, many of them stained with graphite, fluttered against each other as he opened the sketch book to the drawing of the man and the pigeons. Giving the stranger a semi-hopeful look, Sam fished his pencil from his pants' pocket.

Henry did not fail to notice Tune's unusual behaviour and he begun to suspect that she has also deviated- just like him, however there was no solid proof to his theory. He listened to her carefully, not missing any detail, he wanted to say something, to try and cheer her up, but he knew EV700, the apathetic android wouldn't do anything.

As she asked him about his software his LED kept on flashing red, his stress level was rising- it was dangerous. Henry breathe, calm down, you won't let her find out, he reminded himself as he closed his eyes in a slow motion. " It indeed is in a functional order." He responded plainly as his hand went to touch his LED but grabbed his hand with the other in order to stop himself. "I am not in distress, you must be mistaken SR880." He added in a clear tone as he spoke slowly. As soon as she mentioned a child his eyes widened, but as quickly as they did- they went back to normal. "It wasn't human." he started of. Henry don't act on your emotion, you're an android, he reminded himself before he continued. "It was EY400 a new android to work with me." he said bluntly. "We were not attacked." He added at last, not adding any detail to make sure he doesn't dig his own grave.

"You should probably check your software SR880, it seems to malfunction." He murmured as he looked at the girl's LED, seconds later he looked behind her to make sure no police is around, looking for him.

Ivy carefully listened as Benjamin spoke. The more she listened the more angered she was, not at the androids, but at their makers. Why would cyberlife create androids for everything? Androids were supposed to help humans and not take everything away from them- this was getting absurd in Ivy's eyes.

"You don't have to act like you're not hurt." She murmured as she gently placed her palm on his shoulder. "They lost someone amazing, honestly I don't think any android will be able to replace you. A lesson taught by android will be completely different than that taught by a human, and not in a very good way." She mused as she kept on looking at the road before them. " I am not worried, I know you are strong, stronger than most humans that now stand in public places and try to destroy every android they see." She hummed as she looked at him with a sincere smile. "Just don't forget to look after yourself after what happened." She added as she suddenly stopped in her stpes. "How about a cup of coffee.. or tea? This time it's on me." She said with a light laugh.

xxxxwren nodded. "they are naturally drawn to me because-" at the last moment he managed to shut his mouth, eyes going wide for a second before he regained his composure. he cleared his throat, trying to quickly move passed his mess up. "my name is wren." he stated quietly. "but I'd prefer you not to tell anyone of this fact. I am attempting to stay, for lack of a better term, hidden." he tried not to give too much up, but as much as he loved the pigeons, the lot of them weren't very good listeners. he hadn't had a positive conversation with anyone for what felt like forever, and now he was struggling to contain all the vague explanations from spilling out of his mouth. deviance had totally obliterated his self control, and he found himself longing for some sort of wall again, to keep him from doing unintelligent, irrational things.
xxxx"you know, if you wished, I could coerce him onto you," wren offered, voice kind. he looked up at him, a smile on his lips. he reached out his arm to sam, the pigeon letting out a small caw and wobbling on it's perch. "i'm sure it would work."

In the future will need to protect CyberLife and prevent deviants from destroying order. Do you understand?"
'No' 'Yes' 'Maybe' (▲Amanda **Trusted**)
"Yes, Amanda. I will inform RK800 on recent court rulings on law enforcement toward androids." With that being said he closed his eyes and was soon back at the office floor of Wayne County's District Attorney. The main pathway is made of grey marble tiles with the walls having smooth granite-like bricks while the back wall is made of wood to hold up the U.S. seal. "Gabriel! Gabriel! I need you." Gabriel stood up from his chair and walked toward Tom's office which the District Attorney just walked out of. "Oh my God! You have to be fu-" he was interrupted by Gabriel's greeting. "Yes, Thomas." The attorney grabbed the androids shoulder and dragged him to his desk. "I need you to research this case and do a brief for me because I do not have enough time since I have a case in one hour."

"Thomas. I can take this case off your hands. CyberLife programmed me to handle any types of cases. With this case off your schedule you will be less busy." With a small sigh,"Fine but you better be back when at three. Now get to work." With that being said Gabriel opened the file and started to read the issue of the case.

"Sorry. I know how much you do not like it. I just want you to know I am here for you...." Carlos began to scan the room and look at Jacy,"I am going to call in someone to look after you because I know you hate it when Miss Vahnheil comes to check up on you. I know you like company." Jacy watched his dad scroll through his phone for a bit until he tapped some thing and put his phone away. "Alright I am off." With a lunch bag in his hand his dad walked toward the front door until Jacy heard his dad's footsteps stop,"Later a package may come I ordered it a few days ago. Answer the door and bring it in for me will you. It may rain and I do not want it damage. Bye," he said from afar. The front door was slam shut and Jacy instantly began to go through his notebook and do his normal routine like always...alone.

finally, the woman before him peeled from the reception desk, clutching a large black file filled with pictures of a presumed crime scene. connor stepped up to the pretty android behind the desk, blinking at the programmed greeting the android spilled. "how many i help you, sir?" it asked with a polite whir. the department would have to send this android to cyberlife and fix that, connor noted. he fixed the bottom of his jacket before speaking. "i'm here to consult with detective mcallister." connor nodded, sending over his authentication through android connection a beat after the reception android asked. she gestured over to her left - connor's right - and flashed a professional smile. "detective mcallister should be waiting at his desk." connor nodded with a quiet "thank you" before making his way over to the glass half-doors, pushing through them and passing by a stationed security guard who looked as if he would be willing to hand his job over to any android in detroit. connor rounded a corner and stopped in his tracks at the sight of a well-stood-out man leaned against whom instantly intrigued connor.

    DARREN // DB400

darren sat atop a cheap wooden crate used for transport of goods, tapping against it with his fingers as he watched the slum chef work his ass off just to feed part of the slums. darren had always looked up to the older human whose hair had just begun to grey. "you must take a week off later this month. maybe i can take over." darren teased, achieving a sharp snort from the dark-skinned man. "nah, kiddo. this is my hobby right here." chef reassured with a husky, grumbling voice that was highly uncharacteristic compared to the heart and soul of this man. darren would've considered him a sort of parental figure if he'd put his mind to the topic. "ah, you must be a food god. your identity has been unveiled!" the deviant gasped dramatically while chef distractedly played along, letting out a long and loud cackle. "oh, heavens! what ever shall i do to protect what is left of my precious identity!" chef cried. darren enjoyed joking around with chef. these times made him feel as though he were truly a part of the slums community despite his past life as an android.

    PRESLEY

presley jumped, clutching at her grocery bag as she spun to face her not-so-physical-assailant, relaxing at the sight of jacinda. "mhm," she hummed, glancing back at the almost-empty stocks of canned goods. "looks like either world war three is upon us or detroit is officially falling apart." she joked, nodding to the only almost-full canned stock- canned anchovies. "but, then again, you'd guess the anchovies would be gone, too, if both of those were happening." she chuckled coldly, then shifted her eyes back to jacinda with a tilted head. "how're you getting on with this whole android crisis?" presley interviewed, in a mood to take any input she could receive on how petty humans are during these times.
