5 years ago, a terrible sickness was unleashed upon the world. Crafted by the united forces of the Joker, Scarecrow, and Lex Luthor, a virus was made that raged through the population of the world, turning anyone who came in contact with it into raving lunatics. The virus was called Delirium, and until a few months ago, it had no cure. When the virus first broke out the leagues of heroes fell apart, arguing amongst themselves on the best way of dealing with it, even fighting and killing one another. A few heroes even strayed to the villains' side. With no true heroes left, the villains finally prevailed, lording over the world in its state of insanity. Even some villains wish to reestablish order to the world. The cure was made by Jervis Tetch, one of the few villains who sought to bring back order, before he was assassinated by the Clown Prince of Crime. With the cure within grasp, the heroes of old began emerging once more, banding together in factions much like they had in the past, joined by a handful of rehabilitated villains. Will the heroes be able to get along with former villains, and each other, for long enough to rid the world of madness? Which heroes and villains have switched sides in the 5 years of darkness? Is there even enough of a world left to save?

Tʜᴇ Fᴀᴄᴛɪᴏɴꜱ

Postby bigwig. » Sat Jun 02, 2018 9:39 pm

Tʜᴇ Fᴀᴄᴛɪᴏɴꜱ

After the initial creation of the cure, the heroes and villains of old reformed a few of the groups they had in the past.
Image

Tʜᴇ Gᴏᴏᴅ
The Good factions consist of the loyal and true heroes who still believe the world is worth saving. Despite sharing this common belief, the heroes in the Good factions are often wary of each other, especially since heroes started switching sides. Heroes in these factions are even more wary of the villains who have joined them. These former villains are the ones whose humanity is still intact, the ones with "heart", so to speak. The peace between the still-true heroes and their former villains is volatile and tense, raising many questions as to whether these new Good factions will end the same way the old ones did.

The Justice League
The Justice League is possibly the most fragile faction, for the remaining original members have little trust for one another after they originally disbanded. Brought back together and led by Batman, this faction contains the heavy hitters, some of the most well known and powerful heroes left out there. There are very few villains allowed in this faction, due to the fragility of the peace even between the heroes themselves.

The Teen Titans
The Teen Titans are a relatively stable faction, permitting only heroes/villains under the age of 18. The Titans harbor much less distrust for each other than the Justice League, and are generally accepting and friendly to turned villains who joined their ranks. The Titans are a "training" faction, so to speak, for whenever a member turns 18 they stand a chance of being offered a spot on the Justice League.

The Birds of Prey
The Birds of Prey is a small faction of only female heroes/villains. The Birds are the most relaxed group, the lines between true hero and turned villain blurred to the point of near non-existence. Of all of the Good factions, the Birds are the wildcards, preferring not to collaborate with the Justice league and the Titans. The result of their isolation is a tight knit group of women who will stop at nothing to restore sanity to the world.

Tʜᴇ Tᴜʀɴᴄᴏᴀᴛꜱ
The Turncoat factions are relatively small groups of mostly villains who often switch sides at their leisure. Both groups are never fully trusted by either side due to their unpredictability. Despite their wildcard nature, the Turncoat factions are probably the most stable factions, their members united by their collective isolation from either side. The Turncoat factions are relatively hard to persuade once they've chosen a side, only switching when the entire faction agrees it is for the best. Unlike the other groups, members of the Turncoat factions are fiercely loyal to their faction, and often once they've committed to one cannot be persuaded to switch to a different faction.

The Suicide Squad
A small group of formerly the worst villains, the Suicide Squad is often torn between their villainous roots and the pseudo-heroes they have become. Consisting only of villains, this group frequently leans toward the Bad side, due to their resentment of their original imprisonment by the heroes. Not to mention the detonators implanted in some of the original member's heads, yet another reminder to them of the injustices dealt them by the "good" guys.

The Rogues Gallery
The Rogues gallery is a medium sized groups of mostly villains. The Rogues are a very lax group, and their loyalties usually lie with the highest bidder, though they do tend to lean towards the good despite this. Their ranks contain few heroes, the ones that were fed up with the constant fighting within the Good factions. The Rogues are the most loyal and tight-knit group; they defend their family with their lives and when one of their ranks is killed they don't stop until their fallen teammate's murderer is dead.

Tʜᴇ Bᴀᴅ
The Bad factions are the twisted, power-hungry villains who wish for the dark days brought forth from the Delirium virus to never end. They crave control, and the only things that unite them are their love for the power Delirium has granted them and their hatred for the Good factions. The Bad faction members often move fluidly between the factions - trust between them is nonexistent, and for good reason. Just because they are on the same side does not stop the Bad factions from waging wars against each other, and members of these factions frequently turn up dead, murdered by their own "teammates". Despite their general cruelty towards each other, they all revere and respect the Joker, knowing their fate is sealed if they so much as look at him wrong. His rule is uncontested, and his faction is the ruling faction in the chaotic, Delirium-ruled world.

The ManiaX
The ManiaX is the group of mostly villains lead by the Clown Prince of Crime himself. This notorious faction leads the Bad factions, their rule indefinite. The few heroes let into this elite group are the most powerful of the turned heroes, spiteful and power-hungry, ready to fight and even kill their former friends and brothers-in-arms. Despite being the most powerful Bad faction, the ManiaX is the most volatile as well, due to the Joker's instability, and his willingness and capability to kill half of his elite on a whim. Any member of this group, true villain or former hero, must tread carefully around their maniacal leader and backstabbing teammates.

The Injustice League
The Injustice League is an elite group of villains/heroes who believe Delirium is the only way to bring about their own twisted version of "world peace". The members of this faction are self-righteous, believing that the darkness, madness, and chaos Delirium has brought about is the only way to truly end all wars. Often these league members may be swayed to the Good side when they are shown the "error" of their ways, especially the former heroes who have joined the faction.

The Gotham Underworld
The Gotham Underworld consists of only villains, gangsters who remain loyal to the three still standing crime families: Falcone, Moroni, and Cobblepot. The three families are constantly at each other's throats, making this faction the least effective of the Bad factions. They pose the least threat to the Good factions, because even if they support the continuation of the Delirium-induced dark ages, if the tides turn to favor the Good, the crime families will come grovel at their feet to save their own skin.
