‘The Wanted’ - Marvel Roleplay (Next Gens)

It is the Year 20XX, and the decline of Superheroes has become ever more apparent. With the recent incidents happening across the world (Being attacked because of a certain Superhero in one place, a technology accident in another), the government has finally decided to step up and do something about it. Their plan? Capture any Super-Powered human that is known to exist and either bring them to their side or detain them. This has driven just about all of the the Superheroes into hiding, hoping that they’re not the next victim to the government.

A power scale has been created, decided between the governments of the world, with each Super-Powered individual being placed on it based on their powers. The higher up a person is, the more of a risk they’re counted as, and that leads to them being targeted more often in the hopes of getting all the threats stamped out.

The Superheroes have several choices to make. Stay in hiding to keep themselves save. Give themselves up to save themselves. Join the government, potentially betraying all their friends. Or try to fight back, no matter the cost.

RULES:
-No Mary Sues/Gary Stus/God Modding.
-Only join if you will be active. Don’t join if you know you won’t/can’t post at all.
-You can PM me to reserve a character space, this will only last 24 hours before the space is opened back up.
-Don’t complain about not being able to interact with another character if your character(s) aren’t doing anything to others want to interact with them.
-Please try to keep posts to a minimum of 4-5 sentences. This can be reduced to 2-3 if you have writers block, but not for every post.
-Don’t have any romantic relationships between your own characters, please.
-Disable signatures in the roleplay thread.
-No powers that let you take control of another’s character or read their minds. Also, there is a limit to how many powers a character can have.
-The character age limit is 18-26
-Characters will be placed on the Power Scale based on my decisions, and that’s it. If you don’t like where your character is on the scale, don’t complain.

“While doing research into his parents, I found something curious out. His mother happens to be able to destroy Infinity Stones. He seems to have inherited most, if not all, of her powers, which thus means that, if he actually wanted to, he could cause major damage to the surrounding area. While his power levels are currently unknown, as he seems too scared to use his powers, they seem like they could cause far greater problems than we’re able to solve”

HIGH RISK:

“Already a major risk because of his parentage, and the problems we’ve had with that individual, he’s only brought down a stage because he doesn’t use his powers as often, and he doesn’t seem to want to take over Earth, either. Agents are warned to be careful around him, though, because he still knows how to fight, and he will escape if they’re not careful”

Alena
“She happens to be some sort of god, maybe. We’re not really sure. While she is mortal, she is able to heal any injuries quite fast, and her ageing is slowed down, making her technically immortal. The only thing bringing the power rank down is the fact that she can’t infinitely use her element power because of some limits due to her being mortal. Do not start a fight against her unless you have backup”

MEDIUM RISK:

“Nobody knows much, and we’ve not been able to get much out of him, but he seems to be resistant to the Infinity Stones negative effects. Or so we’ve been told. Apparently he had some form of magic, but nobody has seen that so we can’t confirm it’s true. The main danger he brings, though, is that he has stolen a lot before and not been caught, a close eye may need to be kept on him so he doesn’t try to escape”

Julian
“It appears that he might like stealing things, and his abilities while suited up would help that cause if that’s what he uses them for. While ants may not seem like much at first, a co-worker of mine who did research into them told me that there happens to be types of ants that could harm or kill a human if they wanted. Once I have confirmation of what type of ants he talks to, I will adjust his risk level accordingly”

Negasi
“From Wakanda, reports say that he may be taking other Superheroes there to hide out, though nobody really knows for sure. We can’t get any Agents close enough to find out. While we do not want to anger anyone from Wakanda, hiding any Super-Powered individuals there means that he could be getting the more higher risk ones to a place SHIELD can’t reach, not only hindering our work but also letting potentially dangerous people be free. His powers seem to match those of his fathers, but I feel that he wouldn’t fight anyone if unprovoked”

James
“While he has magic, just like his father, his isn’t as strong, meaning that it’d be easier to deal with it. Because of the Infinity Stones being missing, he does not have the Time Stone either, making any fight be automatically easier. His powers aren’t to be underestimated, though, and if provoked he may fight back”

LOW RISK:
Daithi
“He’s fast, faster than anyone we’ve dealt with before, but his weakness is that he’s also not brave enough to stand up for himself at times. He would be a higher risk if he would actually fight back instead of running away from situations. While catching him will be hard, keeping him somewhere will be a lot easier”

Kari
“She happens to have inherited one of the powers from her father, summoning electricity. However, we haven’t actually run into any problems with her yet, she appears to not want civilians to be harmed. Until she actually does something dangerous, it may be fine letting her be around”

Christine
“Yet another person from space, Earth seems to attract those quite often. We’ll have to find a way to deal with that. She’s related to one of the members of the Guardians of the Galaxy, apparently, but doesn’t really have any specific powers. She doesn’t appear to pose much of a threat, so it’ll be fine to have her around”

“Hmm...” Phoenix looks around, hoping he had finally lost the person who had been tailing him seconds ago. Being followed was not something he wanted, nor enjoyed, especially if that person was spying on him. Now that he had stopped, he finally found the time to adjust his coat, sorting it out after it had decided to come undone. He looks around again, just to see where he was. All Phoenix knew was that he was in New York, somewhere in America. Learning the State names hadn’t been a priority for him before now.

Daithi walks into one of the cafes he had seen several days ago while having a run, just because he wanted a drink. Once he reaches the counter, he writes his order down on a note before finding somewhere to sit down, wanting to speak as little as he could while here. Not only did he not like talking because of his accent, it would also be a giveaway to the fact that he had Powers, something he didn’t particularly want right now. He had been living in New York for several years now, only staying because he knew people would get suspicious if he fled so quickly after the government crackdown on public Superheroes. To be honest, Daithi was still shocked that people didn’t know about him having powers, purely because he did use them quite often, just to get from one place to another.

While he didn’t normally visit the library that much anymore, Aittor had decided to do so today. He had nothing to do, mainly because he knew nobody who was around, so he decided to go and do some reading. Instead of checking out some books like he would normally do, he instead picked a few out from the shelves and sat at one of the tables, deciding to read here today. He knew that people wouldn’t approach him unless they had a reason to do so, so that meant that he would have some privacy here. Hopefully. Aittor wished that he could use his magic to make it seem like he wasn’t there, but he knew about what happened with the government getting annoyed at Superheroes recently. He didn’t particularly want to be bunched in with that group, a group that he knew he wasn’t part of.

Midguard was such a wondrous realm with strange buildings and sounds. Ever since she could remember, Alena had dreamed of seeing this world and now she was finally here experiencing it for herself. Her father had told her many stories of his battles for the realms along with his human team mates known as The Avengers. Those stories were what originally draw the young Alena to become fascinated with Earth. She wondered down the street just taking in all the bizzare sights and sounds. No doubt Heimdell had already informed her father of her disappearance and disobedience so really Lena had to take in as much of this mortal realm as quickly as possible before she was dragged back to Asguard and Olympus. Walking backwards as she spotted a large metal bird soar through the sky, Alena suddenly bumped into someone and stumbled forwards before turning round to see who she'd banged into. "Syngnómi" She said quickly in one of her native tongues though she wasn't sure what language the locals spoke in this world.

“Oh!” Phoenix hadn’t ezpected anyone to bump into him, but once he sorted himself out he looked up to see who it was. A female, one he didn’t recognise, was stood there, “Are you OK?” he asks her, not recognising the language she spoke “You’re not from around here, America, are you? I don’t recognise that langauge, and it’s not one I’ve heard in Space either...” already, he had started to go off on a tangent. That was accidental. Bringing the conversation back, he then says “I’m Phoenix Quill, people also know me as Star-Lord. Nice to meet you”

Hearing the guy speak, Alena quickly realized that she must have been somewhere on earth that spoke, oh what was the name? Oh right English. Her realization was only confirmed when he said 'America'. Alena smiled. She was right, English was the main language in land of America. Her eyes then widened after a few seconds. America? That's where father spent most of his time when he visited Midgard. She thought to herself. Perhaps she could visit the great Avenger Tower or was that no longer there? She couldn't quite remember as there were soo many stories about her fathers adventures. When the lad introduced himself, Alena cleared her throat as she got ready to speak the local tongue. "I am Alena Ourania-Thordottir. People of Midgard may know me as Thordottir." She replied and then held out a hand remembering that her father had once told her that this was how earthlings greeted one another. Wait Star-Lord? Did he say Star-Lord? She racked her brain as to why that sounded familiar and soon remembered another tale that her father told her about a group of heroes that called themselves 'The Guardians of the Galaxy' whose leader was called Star-Lord. Could this guy be one in the same? No surely he could since that was before Alena was born and this guy appeared to be the same age as her. She tilted her head slightly confused. She shook her head in response to his question about her not being from 'here'. "I am a visitor to Midgard, I mean Earth."

Oliver wandered through Central Park, humming under his breath, keeping himself alert. It was, for him, dangerous to be going out into the open, but hopefully no one would recognise him. He only wanted the chance to get some air, and stretch his legs, instead of hiding out in an apartment all the time. The last thing he needed was some member of the Government spotting him. He hadn't even spoken to, let alone seen, his own cousin for weeks, simply because of the risk of him getting found. He didn't want to get locked up in some Government facility, simply because he was deemed too dangerous to be out in the world. Perhaps it was partly his own fault, though, for he had previously demonstrated just what his powers could do - even if he hadn't wanted that to happen - and... well, people got hurt that he didn't mean to hurt (but that, of course, meant nothing). He inwardly sighed - it would soon be time for him to head back to his apartment.

"Almost done..." Julian muttered, just fixing the last component on the iridescent wings that attached to the back of his suit. Then... "Finished!" he announced, and turned to face his audience - three large tanks that housed his ants. It was extremely odd, he knew, but he quite liked having them for company. Besides, the ants were incredibly useful. Holding a finger to his earpiece, he silently instructed several of his crazy and carpenter ants to help him put away his equipment. While he didn't have the luxury of having the huge space and resources of the Pym Mansion - where he used to reside - he still had pretty much all that he needed. The only reason he was here on his own was the help ensure that the Government wouldn't find him, since the Pym Mansion would be one of the places the Government agents would be sure to look. Once everything was away, Julian sent the ants back to their colonies, and he went to put his suit away.

Negasi walked around the streets of New York, curiously glancing around at everything. It just all seemed so... well, not as advanced as Wakanda. Vehicles that had wheels and drove on the road? It was so different. He knew that he would be safe as well - some members of the Dora Milaje were keeping an eye on him, he was sure. As for the Government? Well, as long as they didn't interfere with him, then he would not have a problem with them. He was prepared to defend those that got attacked, and that was what mattered. As he walked, he spotted a couple of people talking that - from just hearing a few sentences of their conversation - did not seem to be native to Earth, and were mostly likely two of the people that he knew the Government would be looking for. Deciding it would be best to keep an eye on them, just in case they got attacked by agents, Negasi approached the pair quietly.

Kari looked over her shoulder in concern, as she neatly placed her folded armor into a case. Already, she’d attracted far too much attention. If it wasn’t her attire that had done it, then it was certainly the sparks that had lingered from her finger tips, awakened from her constant caution. Grabbing her hood, she pulled it over her head, attempting to conceal her hair and part of her face. She was glad it wasn’t a warm day. It made her disguise a lot more bearable. Grabbing the black case that held her suit, she lifted it into her grasp, before checking her reflection one last time. At least she now looked more average. Like an everyday New Yorker. God, this was a stupid idea... she thought to herself, slipping out of the store and onto the streets. She took a brisk pace, wary of followers as she made her way along the sidewalk. Now that her appearance was more subtle, perhaps people would stop asking questions. Where was Alena when she needed her? Left behind. Just like everyone else. At least her sister was wise. Asguard seemed like a safe haven compared to Earth.

At last, out of sight. James leaned against the wall, inhaling to catch his breath before ducking into a narrow alleyway. They always seemed to be around these days. The agents. James preferred to give them a wide berth whenever possible. Straightening his shirt, he continued walking, proceeding forwards to the next block. Maybe they’d finally stop following now. Now out of sight, James paused for a moment, looking down at his palms. Concentrating, he managed to summon a quick burst of energy, facing the wall as his body concealed the deep red light. Satisfied he was prepared if his powers were required, he slipped his hands into his pockets, losing focus as he allowed the energy to disperse. These people would surely give up with their efforts eventually. Right?

xxx My arms were crossed over my chest as the world zipped by outside the window. My eyes were busy trying to soak it up as much as possible but of course it was going to be next to impossible to gather all the information needed to be able to truly fit into this world. Sure I was able to blend in enough as one could on Xandar but that was because I had spent most of my life there, my mother wanting to keep me away from the dangers of the world. The dangers being one person who was hellbent on destroying everything that I held dear. I shut my eyes as the memories came back, my partner- the attack. Everything.

xxx I took in a deep breath as the train came to a stop and I decided that this is where my journey would end by rail and my joinery on foot would begin. there was a reason why I was here and yet I was sworn to tell no one about it. I stood up using my hoodie to cover the armoured chest plate that I had underneath it. I was such an awkward size that even the issued uniform didn't fit me. It was too short and ended about the same place a crop-top would. I have to wear an undershirt in order to keep myself covered. I got off the train ensuring that the glowing yellow light was not too visible through my hoodie as I stepped up the stairs and looked around. The sun beat down on my face and I wanted to hide myself from the light. However I did catch my reflection in one of the windows of a coffee shop. I stuck out like a soar thumb, my complexion, my dear in the headlights look, everything. I combed my hair back with my fingers trying to calm myself down. I just need to learn how to blend in.

He remembered his father telling him about one of the Asgardians, Thor, before, and the strange surname thing they followed. This was confirmed when she said Midgard, before correcting herself. He guessed that she’d be confused at the Star-Lord thing, so he decided to explain it “I decided to take on the name Star-Lord, after my father, because it’s cool, and because we were similar in what we did” and then he shrugs “People tended to call me Star-Lord Jr when talking about me. I’m not that sure why”
