A weary, though somewhat relieved sigh left Lephan's lips as she eased herself down to sit beside her small campfire. She, like most zora, preferred to rest in shallow pools or along the banks of rivers, but this close to Hyrule Field the waterways were teaming with lizalfos encampments and Lephan would have rather lost a decent nights sleep than an arm, or her life. Rubbing along her upper arms she warmed the tired muscles by the fire, but not so close as to damage her scales. Fishing was not easy work, and if she wanted anything bigger than the tiddlers Hylians caught with their rods then she would have to harpoon it, and standing over a river with your arms in the air all day was not what most people would call fun. It was better than swimming after the fish herself, however, and ending up with another scar on her scaly hide.
The sound of a sharp crackle in the sky was not one that immediately drew her attention, this close to the mountains surrounding her home the rumble of thunder was never too far away. For a brief moment she worried for the domain, the constant rain was not the blessing it appeared to be for the aquatic Zora people and even she had been sending every brave Hylian she had spotted along that path to aid Prince Sidon's efforts to find a hero.
A tremor rippled through the puddles surrounding her campsite and the beacon of radiant light that shot into the sky snapped her from her thoughts as Lephan drew her hands up to shield her eyes from the sudden assault. "Hylia's frigid--" the curse died in her throat as the awe set in.A light so big an bright it almost looked like those orange towers that had erupted from the earth not too long ago, except she knew exactly what this yellowed light was. A star shard with force enough to rock the earth would feed her for, well, months, provided she could sell it to any buyer. Just on the other side of the river and over the next hill or so, she'd probably be able to reach it before others too.
As much as she loathed getting this close to the center of hyrule field this would be worth it, gathering her shawl and packing it with a few small food items and grabbing her harpoon she wasted no time in submerging herself in the water and made short work of swimming across. Her careful hunters feet made little noise as she raced up the side of a rocky hill.
Taken aback by the sight of it Lephan had to take pause to take it in, an enormous crater filled with light, almost so much she felt she may go blind if she looked at it too long, as though she were gazing upon the goddess herself. Barely able to speak she stood frozen for a moment as the light glittered along her damp scales, picking out her form against the dark surroundings. Plus the form of another, a small one, Hylian no doubt, but there were far too many smells mingling in the air for her to be certain. With a soft sound she cleared her throat and found her voice "Is that yours?" She called to the girl, her tone somewhat playful but equally cautious. If this girl had been responsible for this it was a good idea to get out of here.
