Genji hesitated once the creature - apparently named Gastly - spoke to him...well at least it could talk, that was better than nothing, right? He listened closely to what the ball had to sigh, grumbling quietly when told that he seemed more artificial. As if he had the choice. "And I thought you was just a ball of gas." The assassin retorted coldly, narrowing his eyes from behind his visor while also crossing his arms, shrugging, "We are both wrong." He decided when he slightly stepped back and away from the Gastly, just in case it did prove to be a threat.

Even if he did not trust the mysterious gas, the Shimada would still be polite, bobbing his head as he introduced himself: "I am Genji Shimada.". His eyes then scanned over the hovering orb once again, observing the few yet...unsettling features it had, the stare making the ninja quite uncomfortable. "Do you live here?" He finally asked, hoping this Gastly could offer some help.

Huh, guess the universe is a small place if two species can evolve to look so similar, as well as similar names, Ruptira mused. "Hm? Nah, no magic here in the present. There are stories of it in the past, but those are mostly just legends and myths." Well then, first interaction with aliens on Earth is via a demon. There's some kind of irony there. "Anyways, nice to meet you, Coran. Congrats on being the first alien to ever interact with the human race." She smirked at him good-naturedly as she started to walk again. "Let's stick together, huh? This kinda thing's probably better in groups, with the mysterious threat and such." She shrugged, motioning for the Altean to follow.

Wol'f's spirits lifted a bit as the lady flew down and approached him. He noticed that she was eyeing the demon, understandably. My kind's not really on the surface anyways, no wonder she might want to get closer, he reasoned. The blunt questions were greatly appreciated due to Wol'f's limited English. "I am a demon. Not from here. Name is Wol'f." He lowered himself to the ground as he spoke, given the large size difference. Other folk prefer talking with things that are a similar size, right? He cocked his head at the blue lady, now sitting. "You?" he asked with a pointed finger in her direction.

8E simply nodded in response to the man's first question, only to raise an in eyebrow in sheer confusion at his second question. she had no idea what he was going on about, with these "voodoo magic mind reading powers." 8E had no idea if humans were even capable of such abilities, and even as an android, 8E couldn't do that.
"you shouldn't assume such asinine things, human," 8E answered with the slightest hint of annoyance. "i am not capable of such outlandish feats nor was i trying to impress you, either. i simply assumed that maybe you woke up here clueless, like i did a while ago. and with your earlier statement claiming that you "wanna head back to your state", its safe to assume that you're not a native to this city. is that correct?"
as 8E finished her question, her eye started to trail off, but out of the corner of her eye, she spotted a silhouette headed in her and the man's direction. for a second, 8E gasped. was it actually someone coming her way, or was her eye just fooling her? slowly, one hand started to reach for her blade while her went back to focusing on the older man.

It was still disturbing to watch it speak with a static mouth. A demon? She's never heard of those. Maybe they're some kind of obscure rock creature like her? Or another species entirely. Lapis lightly sighed in relief as it sat down, now starting to think that it may be trying to help. But why would it? Although her guard wasn't lowered, she still let her wings go down. When it said that it wasn't from here, she couldn't hide her sudden frustration in her posture. Was everybody here clueless? Was this entire world filled with these creatures who claim they aren't from here? She exhaled sharply, trying to calm down once it introduced itself. It outstretched its bony finger in her direction, now asking for her name. She hesitated at first, but decided that giving out her name wouldn't be at all too revealing. "Lapis." she responded solemnly, still deep in thought about how to get out of here. She held her arm, feeling the dents on it. If only Steven was here to fix me up. He would've gotten me out of here in no time. Glancing back up at Wol'f, she decided to pry for answers even further. She was desperate for any answer at all. Where the barn was. Oh no.. hopefully it wasn't destroyed! "Did you see a barn? A red.. big.. building?" she corrected, trying to ask in a way it could understand. "I live in it. Brought it with me, now it's gone." Lapis made gestures to try and help it imagine what it'd look like.

Stan huffed a bit. This lady was acting like she knew more than him, and he wasn't about to believe he was actually stupid. Nor would he admit his assumption was indeed crazy. "Well.. duh! I flat out said I wasn't native here. But pointing out specifically that I woke up here was an odd thing to pick out." he said gruffly, crossing his arms in frustration. However, he did remember that he said he was friendly, and he also remembered the fact that this woman has a sword and an ax with her. "Look, I didn't mean that. Maybe if we try and look around.. we can get more information on where we are?" Hey, at least he wasn't the only one alive here. But why did she keep calling him "human?" Was she not one herself? It was kind of weird to think about it, so he tried not to.

However, he noticed that her attention was caught on something else. Looking in her direction, he tried to shield his eyes from the sun, barely making out a shape from afar. His cataracts didn't allow him to see it well, but it was there. As it came closer, he barely made out the red vest of a man, tall and lanky. Even taller than him. But what in the world was with that hair? That was certainly something. Did he live here? "Hey, you. Over here. Do you have any directions to the United States? Or.. if we're not in it.. Where are we?"

cerebella let out an annoyed groan when she woke up, being bothered by the hot temperature. canopy kingdom usually wasn't hot, especially when it wasn't summer. the smell of grass and rotting wood was the thing that got the teal-haired girl to get up with slight confusion on her tired face. rubbing her tired eyes as she sat up. with only a quick glance, she was quick to get startled at the obvious fact that this place wasn't her home, where was she?! this didn't even look like new meridian!
cerebella quickly got up from the dirt covered floor, making her dust herself off. she spotted vice-versa on the floor almost beside her, this relieved her beyond comprehension, crouching down so she could pick it up and quickly put it on, it's arms immediatly growing to look like the strong arms they almost always were.
she noticed that she wasn't inside of a building at all, she was right outside it, but she could still get the strong scent of old and rotting wood, it was similar to that of little innsmouth in the morning. so at least it reminded her a bit of her home.
cerebella decided to start walking, looking around at the several signs saying how she had to survive, huffing a bit with slight worry. she looked up at vice-versa for comfort. "hey! we shouldn't worry, right buddy? no creature is a match for us!" she said to boost her spirits, viceversa responded with a thumbs up, making her smile confidently, and continue wandering around the place.

squigly had already woken up as soon as she was somewhere unfamiliar, though leviathan was gently wrapped around her neck, seemingly resting with her. when she realized this, she gently patted him, as didn't wish to bother her dear parasite. though as soon as he felt his touch, the snake like creature awoke from his slumber. " goodness, squigly! you're awake! has a skullgirl spawned already?" the parasite was a bit confused, as he didn't recognize his surroundings. "we... don't seem to be in canopy kingdom, which is the reason I'm afraid we might be in danger.." she said softly in a rather nervious tone, reading the signs and papers that surrounded the lonely place. "how queer, I cannot sense any sign of the skullgirl, or of anyone by that matter" leviathan started to get concerned, squigly tried to stay calm in this situation. "well, I suppose it'll be just us two, just like old times! we'll be by our sides." squigly smiled at her parasites, and began to walk aimlessly.

wilson was still a bit distracted with his surroundings, so it was a big surprise to him when one of the two people had called out to him, the scientist was unsure if they meant any harm, he sure hoped not, his hands were busy already, so getting his weapon would be rather tricky. he just hoped for the best, and stepped a bit closer, processing the man's questions. "ah, I greatly apologise, but I'm not very sure of our location, making it impossible for me to guide anyone. though I do doubt we're even in america. " he answered politely, wanting to make a good first impression. he didn't have the best knowledge of the world he was in before taken by maxwell, but the place the man mentioned did make him remember a bit of everything, thank god. "I suppose you two aren't natives. did you wake up here too, by any chance?" he payed more attention to the man than the woman, as he was the one that asked him something after all.

"Well, Genji, you were mostly correct. I am made up of a very toxic gas. That, and the souls of some unfortunate people who crossed me." Its face shifted around to look around the place. "It is now. My guess is that you were taken from your homeworld like I was. I hold no connection to my world so I am able to quickly adapt. I just need a shady corner to stay."

"Where did you come from, Genji? Were you shunned in your world too?" It hoped to uncover some bits of information that it could use against Genji if it got the chance.

Stan frowned in response, looking down at the ground in thought. So he was wrong to assume such things earlier. What in the world was happening? It seemed that no one knew where they were. If that was the case, then that means that there's most likely no way to find help. "Great. Perfect. Just perfect." he complained under his breath. "I want to meet the deadbeat who took us here. He'll explain everything." Just then, Stan had a new mission. Find whoever took him here, and force them to bring him back! Surely, his brother must be missing him, right? He can't just leave without explanation. "Everyone woke up here, huh? Well.." he scratched his head and shrugged at the woman apologetically, since that was the closest thing to an apology he'd usually give to a stranger. "We aren't native here, nope. We oughtta find shade or something soon. It's hot out here."

8E simply nodded at the newcomer's question and remained silent at the older man's apologetic look, save for a slight sigh. but the older man's earlier question to the newcomer raised a new question in 8E's mind. she had heard of the United States before, but now 8E couldn't help but think if she was in it during her time on Earth. she had no real idea where on the planet she was in her world, and now, she was just as clueless here. the thought of it all made 8E shake her head slightly, eye closed as if in deep thought.
but the older man's proposition at finding shade quickly broke 8E's train of thought. the heat didn't bother her, since androids were designed to have increased resistance against the heat and cold, but that wasn't applicable to these two. at the same time her eye widened at a new realization - she hadn't introduced herself. 8E had always been more of a loner, but in the situation she was in, it seemed best to work with others. heaving a sigh, the android glanced at the older male, and then the other.
"we will find shade in due time, but i think introductions are necessary between the three of us," 8E started, before taking in a breath. "i am known as yoRHa unit no. 8 type E, a.k.a 8E."

The Altean hummed in thought when the human stated magic was only in myths and legends of human history. Interesting. Perhaps humans were once magical, but it faded over time? Now Coran was very curious and wanted to learn more, but he decided not to interrogate her about human legends, especially when it was uncomfortably hot outside. "The first... huh." How could a species so similar to his own not be at the same level of technology? He had more questions than answers right now.

Coran was quick to follow her, even if he was still wary. She was right. Staying alone in an unknown location meant certain death. Her wink simply flew over his head because he was too distracted to notice it. At some point during their walk, he slung his bag over his back to carry his staff instead. The heat was starting to become unbearable now, and he wondered if it was going to get even hotter. "S-Should we find some shade...? Or maybe... try scavenging for something? I'm hooooot," the ginger whined in a child-like manner. Coran had stopped to lean heavily against his staff, using it like a hiking stick to support his weight as he started to pant from the extreme heat. High temperatures never agreed with him. Most Alteans never fared well in sweltering heat like this so it wasn't much of a surprise.

He sub-consciously wished Alfor was here. Alfor would know what to do in a situation like this. Besides, he missed his best friend... and his home planet... and everything else. Coran was certainly feeling homesick now. The Altean tried to distract himself by surveying their current location. He was pretty sure he spotted someone else in the distance, or maybe a small group of people, but it could be the heat simply getting to him and causing him to see things. If there were other people within seeing or hearing distance, they'd probably make themselves known.

wilson was intrigued by the pair, they seemed to be very different from each other. the older man seemed to be more brash while the woman seemed calm, eerily calm. the scientist couldn't help but to chuckle at the shorter man's comment, it sounded like something he would say when this had first happened to him. "why I highly doubt we'll ever find the thing that did this, and of we do, it definitely won't be here!" he said in an amused tone. no longer looking at the two like he once did, but he went back to slowly sketching out the appearance of his knew acquaintances. "either way, we should definitely get moving some sort of safe shelter, getting heatstroke is definitely not something we want." he was simply responding to the man, being rather happy on how he had so far appeared friendly, first impressions usually didn't go well with him.
wilson paused his train of thought when the white haired woman began to talk, immediately intriguing him, the way she spoke was oddly familiar to him. "numbers? types? that's definitely not human, sounds like something a machine would say.. or it could be something else, I wouldn't know. " his usually loud british accent lowered into nothing but quiet mumbles, trying to focus on other things rather than that odd line.
